Amazing food as always. We got the whole shebang on our shrimp, crawfish and king crab legs. The potatoes and corn were cooked perfectly and is a must-have when ordering. We came here on a Sunday afternoon and sat outside. Gabriel helped us and he was very friendly and attentive. Outdoor seating was nice but they should put a shade or some sort of sunshade to block the suns direct sunlight. Food was just ok. Both seafood didn't have enough sauce. We were barely scrambling to get the sauce out of the shrimp and mussels bag. Mussels were over cooked and not debearded. Cajun chicken wings were just OK. Seasoning wasn't as flavorful. It has been a while since I came on Yelp, but this experience NEEDED to be shared. We came to the new location this evening to celebrate a birthday. As a group of moms, it's rare that we are able to take a night out without our babies. So something really high on our priority list is being able to get in and out efficiently so that we can get home to our kids. Wait time was estimated at 20-30 minutes for our party of 7, it ended up being about 45 min. Not the end of the world, but worth noting. When our server, Leylani, arrived, our table was already prepared with everything we wanted to order. She took our drink orders and our food orders at the same time & advised us that she was going to be going on break soon and that there would be another server would stepping in, but she did not provide any further information as far as when that was going to happen or who was going to be covering our table. After about waiting for 40 minutes, we still had not even received our water or any of our other drinks. We flagged down another waitress, Cheyenne, who was super apologetic and kind. She said she was going to look into it for us as well as to let the manager know and she came back quickly to take our order, letting us know that it was not put in. While taking our drink orders, someone came to ask a clarification question on one of the food items. This is when it was brought to our attention that our food order had also not been placed. At this point it had been an hour since we seated, and the food had not even been put in. The front-of-house manager, Don, came over to apologize and explain what had happened. While our original server had taken our order, she had apparently gone on her lunch break without entering it. To make matters worse, we could see her from our table sitting on the patio with coworkers, eating, chatting, and having a great time while our food hadn't even begun cooking. Don acknowledged that the situation was completely unacceptable. He assured us he would address it with staff, place a rush on our order, and comp our meal. Moving forward, we were taken care of by Cheyenne and another amazing waiter named Robert. Both of them were a total godsend and turned our night around. They were attentive, sweet, professional, apologetic, and we were incredibly grateful to have them taking care of us. We had also brought an ice cream cake , which the restaurant kindly stored for us in the freezer. However, while we were waiting for our table to be cleared and the cake to be brought out, one member of our group went to wash her hands and encountered Leylani by the restroom gossiping about our table. When she realized she had been overheard, her reaction made it pretty obvious she knew she had been caught. An "Oh Crap" face. At the end of the night, after our food was comped, we were presented with our beverage tab, which was completely fine. We were happy to pay it. We actually planned to use that tab as an opportunity to leave a generous tip for Cheyenne and Robert. Unfortunately, we were informed that this location pools tips. Personally, I think this is something management and corporate should reconsider. It can create an environment where exceptional employees and poor-performing employees are rewarded equally, regardless of the service they provide. In situations like ours, it was disappointing to know that the two employees who worked so hard to fix the problem would not directly benefit. My group was also not surprised to discover that Leylani already had negative Yelp reviews, especially considering this location only opened LAST WEEK. Despite everything, we were extremely grateful to Cheyenne, Robert, and Don for doing everything in their power to rectify the situation and salvage the celebration for our birthday girl. The evening was far more time-consuming than any of us expected, but their efforts made a significant difference. This situation was unfortunate; however, it would not deter me from returning this location. I also want to mention that once our food finally arrived, it was hot, fresh, and delicious. Aside from a few of our orders being a bit on the dry side, everything was very flavorful and enjoyable. The fries were especially delicious: perfectly seasoned and honestly one of the highlights of the meal. Credit where credit is due: despite the service issues we experienced, the kitchen delivered great food. A few things to be aware of if you decide to visit: -Be prepared potentially for an inaccurate wait time -They can split the bill up to 4 ways -They can store cake or ice cream cake for your party -Order your seafood "extra juicy." The items we ordered without it seemed noticeably drier than what we've experienced at the Rowland Heights location. -They currently pool their tips -If you were seated in Leylani's section ask for another server. We went for the grand opening on 6/2 around 6:30pm. The wait time was only 45 minutes to 1 hour. The shortest wait time we have had at any boiling crab. We got seated outside. The staff was very friendly but new. We ordered our usual, 2lbs shrimp with the whole shabang medium sauce, xxx the whole shabang sauce on the side, potato in butter, steamed rice, and 2 orders of fried catfish with cajun medium fries. They brought the rice out way before any other food came. Normally the timing is better so that we don't wait so long to actually eat it. Shrimp - these were okay. I think the combination of the sauce not being what we are used to and then then the shrimp peeling weird. Normally once peeled, they are still intact. These after peeled were slushy. They also had all sorts of gunk coming out of them. Normally we have a much cleaner shrimp. Catfish - these were good and also not so good. I don't think it was cooked evenly. The parts that were cooked correct were good and steaming hot. The parts thst weren't were rubbery. Unfortunately it was not just one piece that had this issue. Fries - perfect Service - the staff is super friendly. They were a little confused about what was still available and what wasn't, but honestly it was the first day, so that is okay. We would have liked to be checked in a little bit more though. But again, not complaining as it was the first day. Cleanliness- it was the first day and everything was sparkling clean. Overall we were pleased to see this place open up close to us. We love going but hate the drive. This location is perfect. I am hoping all these first day/week jitters come out and they improve an already impressive first day. So happy we were able to make their grand opening. We waited for roughly ten minutes to be seated. We ordered our goodies with the famous Sha-Bang sauce and medium spicy. The service was phenomenal, Don and Jessica were the main ones assisting our table, but we had many others that checked on us throughout the experience. Went to the grand opening 6.2.26 Everyone was super friendly, very clean, including the restrooms. The shrimp was ok It was mushy, and when I would peel the shrimp the shrimp would fall apart The limes were dry. I got a couple that had juice. My fries were forgotten, and I had to ask two people if my fries were coming soon because it came out after our bag of shrimp. The fries were not hot as I'm used too. There is definitely room improvement, but hopefully this location does well. read more

Went to the grand opening at their newest location in Brea with a few family members . I heard it was the old laugh factory. The staff were really friendly and attentive and very helpful. This location is very spacious and has an outdoor patio as well. Theres a lot of parking in the area so parkings not an issue. We got a mixture of items from shrimp, king crab, crawfish, onion rings, the catfish basket and a few soft drinks. We also added sides of corn and potatoes into our seafood broils. A group of my friends and I came in last night (Sunday), and we had such a great experience! We ordered 3 pounds of shrimp, 1 pound of crawfish, oysters, fries, and margaritas, and everything was so good. The seafood was fresh and came out at a good time, it definitely hit the spot. But honestly, the service from Juliette was even better. She was taking care of a huge table at the same time, but she still made sure we had everything we needed. She checked on us, kept our drinks filled, and made sure we were doing okay without ever making us feel forgotten. She was super friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. We were excited that The Boiling Crab was opening a location in Brea and finally had a chance to try yesterday; however we were disappointed for various reasons. I'll break it down into 2 categories that I was dissatisfied with, it was 1. Service and 2. Food quality, 1. Service: I think employees need retraining there. What may seem common sense, appears not to be so much more these days. We had a party of four and when we asked for crab cracker they brought only one. When we asked for gloves, they only brought one pair. You would think common sense would to bring a pair for the entire table or ask if everyone wants one. Secondly, waiters don't come around often. When they do, you get service like the above. Fairly nonchalant. Trust me I don't like waiters that come by too often because it gets annoying, but when you do please act like you care especially when customers are asking for things. Third of all, when we ordered we asked the waitress how many lbs each Dungeness Crab weighed so we can get a rough idea on pricing. She said each crab is about 1 to 1.3 lbs. So rather than ordering one we ordered two. When we got our bill, we saw that each crab was double the weight that the waitress indicated and we ended up getting about 5 lbs of crabs. Crabs alone was $150 and all of which we were unable to finish bc we ordered based on what the waitress had told us. As a result over-ordered. 2. Food quality. The mixed boil we got in picture included shrimp, claims, corn, sausage, and potato. The shrimp that has head on was mushy. I later googled to find out why shrimp meat can turn mushy. Apparently, this could happen if there are poor thawing techniques or stale/poor quality shrimps. This being a seafood restaurant , that's quite concerning if it was either of the two. It was quite disgusting and was concerned I could get sick after this meal. Then, the corn was pure mush too. I'm just assuming that may be from overcooking but not even sure it barely had any texture left in it. As for seasoning, I wasn't impressed by it at all. Quite frankly, I prefer Fiery Crab over this place. Our bill for party of 4 came out just shy of $300 before tip. With tip that's about $80 person. Do I think for the experience and food quality for $80 per person was worth it? HECK NO! Personally, think there are many better tasting seafood boils in this area that have better food quality food, price, and most importantly better SERVICE! read more

I am so excited about this new location in Brea, CA! I got my usual 1lb of shrimp (the whole shebang non spicy) with corn, potatoes, mussels, clams, sausage, & gumbo with rice. Everything was DELICIOUS as I expected. The great thing was it wasn't over packed. We waited about 25 mins or so.I don't think people really know about it yet. I can't be upset about that. My son ordered his usual of catfish & crabby fries. Then he ordered ranch & mixed it with hot sauce. That mix was tasty. So what rounded out the amazing night was Jorge! Jorge was so sweet, friendly, attentive, & kind. He even brought me extra gloves. Sorry he left Rowland Heights but now Brea has him. They are definitely still in their soft opening phase. The food was delicious and has the same amazing flavors as their other locations. There are some areas of improvement though: - I don't recommend coming during sunset hours. There's no shades for their windows and the sunlight hits directly in your face. We were originally seated at the table with all the sunlight and it was SO uncomfortable that we asked to move. They NEED sunshades for all of the many windows that they have. I'm surprised that they don't have it to begin with. I even saw guests at another table were wearing sunglasses. Obviously your windows are a problem - they ran out of gloves which was disappointing - our drinks were given to us late and were given in the middle of our meal. For some reason there were no lids or straws which makes it harder to drink. Not sure if it's suppose to be given upon request or he just forgot to put the lids on? - we asked for forks for the table and the server came with one fork. Like really? We need it for the whole table, why would you show up with just one fork? - the bathrooms had trash on the floor. Not sure how often they clean the bathrooms read more

The restaurant was clean. The food was okay just need more sauce or seasoning or something. Our drink (sodas) didn't taste right in the beginning. Our waiter seems to not have a working mind set. He forgot to enter a few of our items that we ordered. We had to ask for straws like 3 times. Then when I came towards the end of our meal we could not find him. We wave down another staff member to find him. It ended up he left for the day without telling us. Our second waiter was great she was on top of it. First review in yelp because I've never felt the need to acknowledge a restaurant as much as I do now. I came in a couple days ago with family for a night out. Food and service was amazing, our server I believe was a gentleman named Brandon. His service was amazing, not only was he nice and friendly he was very attentive and fast, knew the menu and helped us navigate since it was our first time. What was the cherry on top for me and my family was his Spanish communication. My family and myself speak Spanish and he was able to switch languages with such ease. Came here with my husband and kids, there wasn't a wait time so that was nice! It was pretty quiet when we got in but as soon as we left the line was pit the door!! Staff is super friendly and attentive. We had multiple people come and ask us if we needed anything. I like that they all help one another, you can tell a big difference in service. Our food came out fairly quickly which was great! The lemon pepper fries were my favorite of our meal. The shrimp and sausage were also great, the only thing I will say is the sauce was more on the watery side than what I'm used to so I felt some flavor lacked in the actual sauce. I went here since I'm so close to it but I will just keep going further to either Rowland heights or garden grove. The shrimp I got here came in a Bag with almost no sauce . Literally dry . I've never had this issue . I asked for more and was told it's sold in a cup , which is dumb since I never have gotten no dry ass shrimp from boiling crab. Almost like Popeyes biscuit type dry. I will keep driving to further locations to get for what I pay for. Also saw another customer on here complaining about this same issue , management should really start reading feedback from customers since the restaurant is so new and maybe they can fix these issues, not sure if they're trying to save money but you will loose more if people start avoiding because of this. read more
