In the hotel (Kimpton Monaco) I was staying at, so certainly convenient. Friendly staff. The salad we ordered was divine! Greatly enjoyed Panzano! Visiting Denver for work, and needed a quiet spot for dinner for one. The large windows of the restaurant welcomed me in, and the restaurant had a cozy feel. The service was impeccable. Waiter was attentive and made great recommendations. Food was fantastic. First course was the house made bread service, served warm with both butter and olive oil. Focaccia bread was heavenly!! Then had the cream of carrot soup. Definitely comfort food. Bolognese was also a treat. We recently stayed in Denver to attend concerts at Red Rocks Amphitheater. Our tour was booked at the Kimpton Hotel Monaco and while staying there we ate at the adjoining restaurant, Panzano. The restaurant was absolutely superb in every possible way. We ended up being able to try a dinner, lunch and brunch during our stay. The hosts and servers were friendly, very knowledgeable, attentive and professional. But the food! Chef Javier is a wonderful gift to the palate! His food is seems simple at first but then has a beautiful complexity of flavors. We especially loved the brussel sprouts, lobster arancini, scallops, carbonate and eggs Benedict. My Brussel sprout hating husband is dreaming about eating them again! Panzano was a magical time! My friend hosted her birthday dinner here on a Wednesday evening, and I realized it'd been awhile since I dined at an upscale restaurant. The service, as many other Yelpers have attested to, was unrivaled. From the wait staff to the kitchen, we felt so catered-to and that in itself would be a reason I come back. The menu seemed relatively limited, but everything sounded delicious, so I probably would have been overwhelmed if there were many more options. I ended up getting the Romagna dish (pasta with prosciutto, peas, truffle crema, chives) and wish I added prawns, but I'll remember this lesson for next time. Every bite was perfect, and I often dream about it. Wine selection is fantastic. We celebrated with champagne and a few bottles of red and wine. Having been to Italy for my honeymoon, I'm usually nervous to eat at Italian restaurants in the US, but this one exceeded all expectations. We recently had the opportunity to visit Panzano in downtown Denver for dinner as an old friend was in Denver on business and wanted to meet there. We had never been, though several years ago had the opportunity to dine in Denver more frequently. My absolute first comment I'd like to make is to congratulate the staff members for such extremely professional and fantastic service. It's been a while since I have seen a team like that in this state. We had 3 in our party and some sharing happened so we could sample more items. We all enjoyed our drinks completely. My prosecco was perfect. As was my husbands Malbec. The house Focaccia was excellent. The Frito Misto was very good. The Caesar salads among us were very ordinary, though the anchovy was a nice touch. My seafood ravioli was rather bland, though the lobster chunks in the butter sauce very nice and the best part. My husband's Veal Saltimbocca was very attractive, though it did not seem like Veal Saltimbocca at all, more like a light beef steak wrapped in bacon, thick sliced like a filet mignon but a bit tough to cut. All Veal Saltimboccas I have had in the past were of very pale meat, thinly sliced and pounded even thinner and stuffed with the prosciutto in a rolled or folded over style with the sage leaf on top. Indeed the sage was on top here but the meat layer very thick causing the prosciutto to overcook. The desserts were a hit, my husband's caramel budino very nice, my cinnamon pannacotta a bit denser than most, but beautifully flavored and garnished with incredible crispy bits of chopped apples that had been caramelized. Our friend had the sorbets, but opted to make it a duo of favorite flavors rather than the trio preselected as one flavor he does not care for so instead took two of his favorite. This was not porblem though, as I have said, the service staff made everything so easy. My decaf espresso shot to end the meal was quite good, my husband enjoyed his coffee and our friend, his port. Clearly a nice option to eat here, especially if you are in any of the neighboring hotels on business. My mom and I happened upon Panzano because we were staying in the hotel where the restaurant is located. The service was very good, but the sommelier was just OK honestly. The wine list was expensive and impressive, especially their section of interesting reds. The cocktails were also delicious. I had the espresso martini and my mom had a vodka drink that I forget the name of. Both were very well-made! For food, we started with the cheese plate. Two of the three cheeses were delicious, but the third was simply a mozzarella. That left something to be desired. For an appetizer, we also had the buratta and tomato bruschetta. This was The most delicious dish we had the entire evening! It is very simple, but it is addictive! We cannot recommend it enough. The corn soup was one of the seasonal specials. It was extremely delicious! It was light and refreshing, but sweet and satisfying. We also ordered the amatriciana and scallops with risotto. The scallops were expertly prepared. They were crispy on the outside, but tender and cooked through on the inside. The spaghetti was very well-cooked, but it was quite simple. We decided to skip out on dessert because we were pretty full. Overall, I think we will try a new place next time we are in town. I even hosted my out-of-towners pre-wedding gathering here in a private room they have off to the side for just such occasions. Glad to have squeezed in a quick res the night before as they are busy - sat in the bar area which was nice to include plenty of high tops and booths. Waitress was very helpful and friendly as we navigated the wine list. Started with the brussel sprouts - these might be the tastiest I've had (I've tried many great variations) what is great about these are the green apple and dressing. Waitress almost let me walk out with the recipe after telling her I'd eat them every day :-) Bison short rip was succulent and not too fatty unlike beefs tend to be. The fra diavlo was a miss for us. The noodles felt very ramen and chewy like. The sauce was "fishy" and overall not one we would order again. Nice atmosphere, will be back but will skip the seafood. read more

I can't say enough about this wonderful restaurant! My wife surprised me with a date night here because of the extensive gluten free menu and awareness of dietary restrictions/allergies. I took part in the amazing 4 course GF meal! It's $70 for the food and $30 for a half pour of wine per course. And let me tell you, it's absolutely worth every penny!! The meal is preset by the chef every night but they totally can accommodate dietary restrictions which is amazing! My wife had the best gin drink and ravioli and was able to try all my courses! Our waiter, Jose, was AMAZING! Hands down an amazing waiter and genuinely just such a nice guy. He made our night special and paid attention to our questions and preferences. Panzano - Chicken Risotto - Italian Near Me - Denver, Colorado

Panzanos was okay. I thought it had closed and was happy to see it hadn't. It's in a cool location downtown and has an old-school, diner-like feel with low arched ceilings, giving it an almost San Francisco vibe. But the chosen hue follows the U.S. trend of removing all color from everything. Only whites, blacks, grays, beige and tans need apply, with the occasional brown-red or brown-purple thrown in. In Panzanos, the classic interior is absorbed by the primarily gray palate and spartan decorations. It seems to be down-playing its own beauty, with success. The food was pretty acceptable, with a rather succulent and decent-sized lobster tail in my Frutti di Mare. My wife's Orecchiette was decent, as was my daughter's simple pasta with Bolognese. But the calamari in the Fritto Misto appetizer (also has a few shrimp, peppers, and olives) was strangely uninteresting and not much to it, consisting of little strips of not very tasty pieces... not what one would expect with the calamari. The Ceasar salad was also somewhat uninspiring. Our waiter was outstanding. Panzanos is a place with a lot of potential that seems a bit unrealized right now. Beautiful bones, central locale, and a decent reputation, but it needs to up its game. Literally, add some color, spark, and life. Attached to the Hotel Monaco next door, both have managed to brand themselves with deep monotones, where not standing out too much is evidently a virtue. The Hotel Monaco's formerly inspired and fantastic multi-colored raised lobby ceiling and lobby decor have been replaced by beige and gray doldrums in what can only be described as a shocking removal of beauty and energy, for the sake of conformity, I guess. Maybe all that color was unsettling to their chosen target market. Brand bland seems to be the order of the day. Passing from the Monaco lobby to Panzanos, or the reverse, used to be an event. Now, I've already forgotten it. I hope both of these beautiful places and spaces find their spark in the future. The bones are there. Lose the bland. read more

It has been about four years since I was last at this gem in Denver. It has been around for as long as I can remember downtown Denver and for good reason, solid, delicious food with spot on service. This place is not gimmicky as so many new restaurants are. This weekend, went back and I was not disappointed -- everything from the cheese & salami starters to the Porchetta main were as excellent as I remembered. Little disappointed to not see the carbonara on the menu, it was what I enjoyed the most when I used to work downtown and frequented Panzano more often. After an awesome 2 weeks in Italy last fall, we decided to spend our anniversary dinner at Panzano.... and wow, I am so glad we did!! The service is impeccable and the food is some of the best Italian food I have had in Denver. We snagged early reservations for happy hour & so glad we did, their HH menu was excellent! Our server brought us a round of prosecco to start to celebrate; and I knew it was going to be a great experience. We also got a few apps off the happy hour menu... the olives were great with a citrusy zest, the mini charcuterie had quality meats & cheeses along with nuts & olives, and the warm focaccia bread was sooo on point with the tallow butter! These went nicely with the HH red tuscan blend too. We shared the papardelle with lamb & pork sauce, and the noods were cooked perfectly al dente. The crispy brussels were a highlight of the meal too, as they're topped with green apples (unique, crunchy & delish!). This paired nicely with a bottle of Italian red that I can't recall the name of but it was delish! Then, our super sweet server asked what kind of dessert we wanted bc it was on the house... and when we had trouble choosing, she brought both! The tiramisu was classically perfected with the right amount of soaked ladyfingers... but butterscotch pudding with the salted sour cream was the show stopper. I was hesitant about the salted sour cream whip on top but it added so much to the dessert- hats off to the pastry chef! All in all, our anniversary was made extra special because of the experience we had at Panzano.. the service was excellent & the food was some of the best Italian I've had in Denver! Another waiter came by the fill our waters constantly, which I appreciated a lot. Food: The ravioli was... ok. The sauce was a bit too tomato-y for my taste, but I can see why people really enjoy it. If you like red sauce, this dish is for you! My boyfriend did say it was too small of a dish for him, which I agree with. We also got the focaccia bread as a side and it was delicious. The butter has beef fat in it, just a heads up. We also got tiramisu (thanks Kris!) and it was delightful. We tried the octopus, it was charred, tender and flavorful. The goat cheese, heirloom tomato salad with vinaigrette left us wanting more (I think it was Panzanella)! And I can't even begin to describe the pasta! I can't pronounce it but it was green, with peas, rabbit and crispy prosciutto (I think it was Coniglio). We wanted to lick to bowl but this place is too fancy for that. We finished off with gelato (vanilla, chocolate and popcorn!) and port. All the servers were attentive and detailed. I haven't been to Colorado for such a long time and I am so excited to explore the city and its ins and outs. I've heard Downtown Denver has a plenitude of delicious food and cool museums to explore. Anyways, yesterday was my first day here - from the airport, I was craving good food. I was STARVING. My parents and I made the decision to go eat before heading towards the hotel because we needed food. Turns out, our hotel - Hotel Monaco - is right besides this cute, little Italian restaurant, Panzano. In fact, Panzano is INSIDE the hotel. Win-win, I say. We made the final decision to eat here because that would mean less driving, am I right? And we, plus our stomachs, were pleased... Gimme a drum roll please... Appetizers: Baked Brussels sprouts drizzled with honey, pistachios, and sliced green apple These sprouts were amazing. The way the chef drizzled on the honey and olive oil was just absolutely delightful. It was not too rich - definitely light, satisfying your sweet tooth too! And did not make you feeling guilty after it was finished. We also got the special bread of the day - Goat Horn - and it was very delicious. A little spicy, but with the sweet sauce of the 'sprouts, you could not go wrong. Main entree: 2 pizzas - 1) pepperoni 2) half/half with the funghi and the egg pizza because we were so indecisive to chose one We got two pizzas (there's three of us) and still have leftovers, so I'd say the sizing is pretty good. I like that, because who doesn't like leftover pizzas?! I typically do not like pepperoni but I really enjoyed theirs. I favored how they added a drizzle of honey on the pizza to balance out the spiciness of the meats. Bold and artistic choosing of flavors. Dessert because life is too sweet without it: Butterscotch pudding with a almond biscotti and whipped creams Anyone who's from Brazil or European nature, you would agree with me that this pudding would be an Americanized blessing of doce de leite. Armegawd. One thing I would want to recommend for the future is possibly adding some crunch to this pudding to spark the flavor. Maybe some crushed pecans or even plain ol' walnuts would do the trick. And maybe blackberries for some pop in color. Now, for the service.... I have nothing bad to say about Panzano, especially as it was the best meal I had during my 4-day trip to the suburbs of Denver! Came here for lunch on a weekend, which disappointedly like most other restaurants, only offer a brunch menu. Luckily enough their brunch menu had a few lunch items like pizza and appetizers. Ordered a small caesar salad, banana bread french toast, pancakes with blueberry compote, and margherita pizza. Everything was pretty darn good! I have no complaints. Both the beer and the mini-p were just fine, as was the service. So it's become clear to me that Miz P (the lil' B) wants to see me again. I mean I'm not braggin' or anything. I've been to Panzano a couple of times now and both occasions for their happy hour - it's excellent! Great little personal pizzas, small ceasar salad, an of course super specials on drinks! Last time I went with the personal sized carafe of wine for $12 which was a great price for the size of the carafe. The space is very nice and since it's connected to a hotel of course there's easily accessible WiFi if wanting to do some work while hitting up happy hour. I'm sure a non-happy hour meal is great there, too. Based on my visits it does not seem like there would be a bad dish in the place. Sometime in the future I'll try a regular menu dish. read more

I love Italian food and Panzano did not dissapoint. I came in for a birthday dinner with a friend and we got to take advantage of some of their happy hour prices ($5-7 for beer, wine and cocktails, $5-8 small plates) + getting to enjoy their delicious pastas. We were seated quickly when we arrived and received attentive service from the staff throughout the meal. We started with the fried brussel sprouts, a recommendation I saw on Yelp multiple times, and they did not disappoint. I really liked the sourness of the green apples paired with the sprouts. Not much more to say there. For the main course, I ordered the Ragu di Agnello and was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the lamb. I'm not usually a fan of lamb but it worked so well with the dish that I just want to eat this again. Pairing it with the wild mushrooms, added a bit of buttery-ness to the dish that I was very happy with. I'm definitely hoping to come back and try some more of their food, and since the menu changes with the seasons I'm excited to see what I'll get to eat next. read more

Very friendly and professional staff with excellent service ( above and beyond the usual). We ordered the Salsiccia and Margarita pizza, each about 4 slices and super yummy. Just a great feeling as soon as you come into the restaurant I threw out your meal. My server was the best unfortunately I forget his name. The bread they serve you a complementary was outstanding and it came up with a wonderful dipping oil. Anchovies are optional but highly recommended if you like them. Never had an oil with this kind of flavor before! I ordered the funghi salad and honestly I couldn't believe how good it was. I love mushrooms, but the greens were just as incredible. Highly recommended if you like mushrooms it comes with poached egg also. Although I substituted with grilled chicken. For the main course I had pasta bolognese. Wonderful combination of beef, and veal and wonderful tomato sauce. Ended a perfect night for me. I'll definitely be back next time I visit.
