We finally decided to cash in the vouchers we had been given during our previous visit. This time everything was great. We had our dog with us and sat on the patio. The waitress came out and provided our dog with a bowl of water which was nice. It was happy hour and their hh menu is huge. So many offerings at a great price. The wine was delicious and food super tasty. We plan in returning for hh again soon! read more

Just go. Seriously just go. I got to be Amanda T's date for 5280 and BOYOHBOY was I blown away!! A beautiful plate of calamari (big too actually) that I wish was proper to lick clean, spinach salad with a dressing to die for, pastiche (Italian for orgasm), and a chocolate creme brulee for dessert (which I really did lick clean). Our waiter was awesome (I was late too and he didn't hassle my date), the wine was sublime, and so like I said before.... just go! I'm taking my mother in law here for dinner (and breakfast too cuz bottomless bellini's are, well yes they are just that heaven). read more

I really love Panzano. From the very first impression to the final bite, Panzano provides an amazing atmosphere and dining experience every time. They have an olive/sun dried tomato/anchovy tapenade that I would literally eat off of the floor. Okay, that's a little crazy but you get my point. I've been to Panzano for lunch, happy hour and dinner on multiple occasions. Lunch is great, easier on the wallet and just as tasty. A few highlights for me: Happy HOUR!!!! 3-6, 7 days a week. They've got killer small plates of in house pasta, calamari, fried eggplant and amazing brussels sprouts. GO. Two of us spent about $35 and had 8 plates last week. The only downside to happy hour is that its in the bar only and sometimes the service is a bit lacking (which is usually NEVER an issue at Panzano but twice now I've had slightly snotty service in the bar). Best Calamari in Denver in my opinion - always fresh, never frozen, what calamari should taste like! Dinner is just beautiful - I had a scallop dish with a sun dried tomato and Il Mondo Vecchio sausage risotto and it was divine. Apart from my above experience at the bar, service at Panzano is almost always impeccable. Polite, knowledgable and friendly, quick, intuitive and grateful I LOVE the staff here! All around one of my favorite places for a quick happy hour or a long, lovely meal with family and/or my sweetie! read more

I'm compelled to post because I'm surprised by a couple of the recent reviews -- but I think I have a theory for the low scores, particularly the service. I work near Panzano and have lunch here from time to time with business associates, but I had never been for dinner till last week when my wife and I gave it a try for RW. Here's the catch: we got an early rex -- 6pm. It was quiet when we arrived, and service was pleasant and prompt. By the time we left the place was buzzing and we could tell the staff was getting frazzled. Like others said, the apps (duck liver mousse and the mushroom crespelles) were absolutely standout. The salads were fine, but really -- why would anyone expect an extraordinary salad in the middle of Colorado in the middle of the winter? Give me a break. The soup was OK, the entees (shrimp for me, pasta for wife) were solid it not Frasca-level fare (but then again what is?). The chocolate/lavendar dessert was a tasty but rich bite. So I say kudos to Panzano for offering an EXCELLENT value for RW and some fine food to boot. Maybe the hype has gotten ahead of the reality for some of the reviewers, and I think the restaurant needs to sort out some service issues to handle the crowds they seem to get almost every night. read more

I met another yelper at the chef's counter on business in Denver while eating here. He was such an interesting character who made my dinner very enjoyable. The chefs at Panzano were pretty busy so they didnt really have time to have a long conversation with the people eating at the chef's counter. They were still pretty friendly and they asked the usual "are you from here? where are you from? are you enjoying the food?" Keep in mind I had an amazing dinner experience at Tag two nights before where I had a full on conversation with the chefs about their hobbies, vacations, and where they trained to make sushi and such. So compared to Tag, these chefs were on the slight quiet busy side. The service was still good though. The waiter was really friendly, had great recommendations, and even knew i liked spicy food and brought me crushed red peppers because he remembered I mentioned I love spicy food. I'd like to say the food here was pretty good. I had the daily special which was an Alaskan king crab pasta with sauteed spinach and corn, serviced in a spicy white wine lemon butter sauce. The portion didnt look like alot, but man did that thing fill me up. The chef that made the special even came over and asked me if i liked it. luckily i did so i didnt have to lie to his face. for dessert I had their chocolate coconut mousse stuffed canoli drizzled with passion fruit sauce. the chocolate coconut mousse was very light, there wasnt a strong coconut flavor but still a hint, which is good because i dont want my dessert tasting like an almond joy (no offense of almond joy lovers). The passion fruit sauce was refreshing and complimented the chocolate coconut canoli very well. I've also heard that they are known for their tiramisu. If i knew that before i ordered my dessert, im pretty sure i would've ordered that. it's a must if you go to panzano. read more

Gluten Free Focaccia Bread... Gluten Free Menu with extensive options... Gluten Free Shortbread dessert... Gluten Free ...Gluten Free... Gluten Free... Panzano's Executive Chef Elise Wiggins is an asset to the gluten free community of Denver. Downtown Denver has several options for a gluten free meal, but none are so awesome as Panzano's with their plethora of gluten free options - and not just the stuff that is already gluten free. I loved the pumpkin soup, grilled gluten free Focaccia bread with Colorado sourced goat cheese and Rocky Mtn clover honey, the shrimp and polenta with pine nuts, and the blueberry compote with gluten free shortbread. Get ready to spend a pretty penny or pennies but it is worth each cent.... a great date place with convenient valet parking (free with meal purchase) and a place to frequent as the menu changes seasonally. Also, great place for Denver Restaurant Week... $52.80 for a 3 course meal for tow. read more

It was an unexpectedly cold day in Denver and I was told that this restaurant was closer than what was initially chosen. We clearly have a discrepancy on defining "close" when it's -13 degrees because it was TOO FAR. Nonetheless, after a few blocks of arduous trekking, we managed to be welcomed by an incredibly friendly maitre d' who kindly checked in our coats. They brought us some bread baskets and an olive tapenade that was worth smothering your skin with and licking. We ordered Calamari Fritti, Cavolini di Bruxelles, fried oyster special, Fattoria Piatto and Caesar Griglia to start with. The Cavolini di Bruxelles were AMAZING, highly, highly recommended! It was crispy and perfectly charred for that smokey flavor! One of the highlights of our meal. They had an excellent selection of wines, and our appointed alcoholic er...wine connoisseur had no trouble finding a bottle that would satisfy his very discerning palate. Various participants of our dinner ordered the Melanzane Fritte, Pastiche, Bistecca alla Rossini and Agnello Arrosto and not a single complaint was uttered (or words, for that matter unless mmms count). After I saw their dishes, I was admittedly upset that my Cannelloni alla Pesarese had 2 notable pieces. I couldn't help but think "2? that's it?" however it was MORE than enough as I was beyond stuffed. If and when I return to Denver (very unlikely, your weather is unkind to a bronzed Angeleno like myself), this would be one of those dining options that might be the first to come to mind to revisit. read more

Incredible food. Great service. Servers know their wines. Ate dinner twice and breakfast once. Enjoyed by our entire party of 7. They are known for their brussel sprouts and for good reason. Cut of the night was bone-in New York strip. Delicious. For dessert you can't miss the budino di caramel. Light, creamy, flavorful, and satisfying. read more

This place must have created the saying "You get what you pay for". I don't even know where to start! We had a group of six and ordered three appetizers. The waiter recommended all three and of course, they were amazing. The brussel sprouts were topped with granny smith apples which added just the right amount to the flavor. I'm not even sure how to explain the Fico Bruciato, except that it melted in my mouth. Everybody in the group was impressed. We then asked the waiter what we should order for dinner, and he recommended the Pastiche and Carbonara alla Panzano. Of course those are the only two items that the group ordered. We were a talkative group so it didn't seem long until our entrees arrived. The smell was amazing and the taste even better. The Pastiche meat balls were awesome with the right amount of spice. The whole dish was amazing. The Carbonara was delicious as well. The fried egg on top was just the right amount of touch to make the dish. Not only was the food excellent, but the service was phenomenal. I can ever recall my water glass being empty and I drink a lot of water. Our waiter was hilarious! He was brutally honest about the dishes and was a joy to have. He even asked another waitress about the toppings on the dish and her reply was funny as well. I don't think I have given five stars, but this place deserves it. You will probably end up spending $100 between two people, but it was well worth it. I highly recommend going here with a group! I plan on bringing my visitors here so they can see an awesome Denver Italian restaurant. Keep up the good work. read more

It was my first time in Denver when I stopped by this place because it was near the bus station. We chose this location because we were looking for a nearby happy hour. I am a big stout fan, and they had some amazing local beers on tap! We also got some apps on the happy hour menu: a small pizza, Brussel sprouts, and calamari. These items were an amazing deal! Each under $10. The sprouts were unique because they were served with sour apples which gave an amazing balance to the dish. The funghi pizza with white sauce was even more amazing than expected, and the calamari came with a delicious sauce! The regular menu items were too pricey to order, but I am sure they would have been amazing. Overall quality was top-notch! The service was incredible and the atmosphere was classy but fun! I would definitely return to this spot! A+! read more

Panzano - Happy Hour Apps: Funghi pizza, brussle sprouts with apples, calamari - Italian Near Me - Denver, Colorado

Happy Hour 2:30-6, daily. Scallop - good but not great. It comes with leek, c'mon, leeks in October? Fungi pizza - generous. Decent bite. Paparadelle lamb ragu - love the sauce and fresh pasta. However, some pieces of the lamb was on the dry side. read more

We went to Panzano for Brunch. Bottomless Bellinis which is nice. We had Zucchini french toast, squash soup or Zuppa di Zucca, an assortment of pastries and the Strata. All of these were delicious. The strata is very heavy cheese/egg blend with prosciutto. Personally I thought this was the best out of everything we ate. Wait staff is very friendly and the price is very reasonable. Cant wait to try Panzano for Dinner. read more

My husband and I have come here twice for breakfast. While the food was excellent, the service was poor each time and that seems unacceptable for a $17 per person meal. Both times we waited for 10 minutes before being greeted. The first time we were there the waitress told us they were understaffed and the coffee is self-serve. The second time we were served luke warm coffee and creamer that had been sitting out for so long that it had developed a film layer on top. You'll be happy when the food arrives, provided you get what you ordered, but you'll leave with a dent in the bank account and a greasy belly. read more

Great service...fantastic food. Must try the brussel sprouts. They are the best I've ever had. We enjoyed the cioppino and the ravioli with bolognese. read more

Wow. We ate well in Denver. This place is good for vegetarians (even though I am not one and can't speak for vegans). We had mushroom crepes that reminded me to bust out the crepe pans when I get home; brussel sprouts, crispy and airy, with slivers of green apple. I had the most fantastic vegetarian lasagna, all silky smooth pasta. My friend had the tasty gnocchi with rabbit confit. For dessert we split torta de zucchero, essentially pound cake with toffee sauce and vanilla gelato. Espresso with a twist to wrap it up. Great, attentive, service. read more

I feel like Panzano is a hidden gem! First, our waiter Jose was OUTSTANDING. He was personable and very attentive. Second, the food was really good. We opted to do the octopus, calamari, and the Brussels to start (there were 6 of us) and then split their house made pastas. Third, I feel like it's such a good value...we had dessert too. Just overall a great experience with delicious food. read more

Was staying at the Renaissance Hotel at the corner of 17th and Champa. Walked across the street on my last night in Denver for some Italian. Panzano's was off the chart good. Panzano - Italian Near Me - Denver, Colorado

NEVER TRUST AN ITALIAN RESTAURANT THAT DOESNT GIVE YOU FREE BREAD! Yes, they want you to pay $5 for a bread bowl. The bread is not good because it is very dry. I ordered the Grano Arso Orecchiette which was a black pasta because they use burnt wheat (as our waiter explained) that tasted heavier than usual pasta. It was good pasta which smaller portions. All of my friends portions were smaller than you would receive at a typical Italian restaurant. It definitely felt as if they were trying to be a more elevated Italian restaurant. The atmosphere was nice with the open kitchen. However, when we first walked in there was a very strong smell like dirty water or fish. This was very unappealing and almost caused us to turn around. Overall my meal was good but I don't believe the cost was worth the meal and atmosphere I received. read more

Panzano is a real treat. It's expensive and I recommend going on an occasion where money is not a huge factor. They have two award winning caesar salads. One is a grilled (yes, grilled) salad and I am here to tell you - it is FABULOUS. All the food is authentic; the chef really knows her stuff. (I should mention that the chef, Elise Wiggins, is a neighbor of mine so I am a tad partial.) But, each time I have visited Panzano, she has come out to say hello to me & my friends; she can tell you great stories about all the dishes and her specials are out of this world. I also had the cod on a potato cake with red pepper sauce that a previous posted mentioned. The other items on the menu that I've had and enjoyed -- Pollo val D'Osta, Capesante and Burrida. My fiance also really likes the Penny Pasticche, which seem a little strange on the menu, but is an authentic dish. Another thing I like is that they will bring you samples of wines if you can't decide which one to order. read more

We happened in here because it was raining and it was close to our hotel, I'm so glad we did. It ended up being my favorite restaurant of the whole trip. We hit it at happy hour, really excellent value and plenty of variety of local drafts, wine and interesting cocktails. We got a few different small plates and enjoyed everything. Be sure to order the Brussels sprouts (CAVOLINI DI BRUXELLES), they are out of this world!! Our bartender was also very friendly and helpful in giving recommendations of places to visit in the local area. read more

Man, that's some good dinin'! One of my coworkers dragged us here, saying it was her favorite restaurant in Denver. I can see why. We had really nice seating. You see, they actually have a counter similar to a diner. But here, you can look at the chefs cooking everyone's food. They'll even slide you a few bites of their specialties (crab cakes when I was there) while they're cooking. Plus, you get to see what other mouthwatering delicacies that you'll want to try next time. When I go out, I never, NEVER get the specials. I mean, at most places, does anyone ever order them? And if so, are they truly any good? I was eyeballing a few dishes from the menu when Michael, our waiter, told us about the specials. I immediately put my menu down and had to force myself to make a decision among the specials. That's how good they sounded! I decided on cod served on top of a potato cake, topped with greens. While we waited, I quaffed a Peroni draft and munched on bread and flavored olive oil. Very tasty, yet not so filling that you'll be stuffed before your meal is served. That was some damn good cod, believe you me! Just enough to leave you full, but not so full you feel sick. I'm not the biggest fish fan around, so when I say it was some of the best fish I've ever had, that should tell you something. The verdict: it's pricey, but worth it. It's an ideal date/anniversary type place. Do see if you can snag a seat by the chefs... it makes the experience that much better! read more

The service was excellent and the food was good but it didn't make the 5 stars because it is not one of the best that I have had. For an appetizer we had the calamari, which was soft and not overcooked but the crust was a little soggy. I had their special the lamb cannoli, which comprised of perfectly seasoned lamb stuffed into perfectly cooked (al dente with semi crusty seared sides) homemade pasta served on a nice creamy sauce that paired perfectly with the pasta. I also tasted the ravioli, which was also cooked to perfection and had a great meaty filling with zesty tomato sauce that balanced the filling well. Their tiramisu was great but again there could be improvements. There was not enough espresso in the cake and it was a little one the sweet side. Of course this maybe a personal bias, I generally like my tiramisu light but still retaining good marscapone flavor with the spongy part (ladyfingers or cake) soaked with a generous amount liquor and espresso, yet still not be soggy. read more

For real though? The restaurant LookS impressive but the service, food and presentation was most definitely not. We came here for lunch as a family and were seated promptly because the place was practically (which was nice). Even after requesting 4 different times to have water with no ice, our waitress n.e.v.e.r brought it out. They weren't busy and she seemed to be having a wonderful day and was chatty, but didn't seem too concerned with a simple request. I never have anything bad to say about beer so I'll move on to food. The food. I felt like they were trying too hard to be gourmet Italian but instead, the pizza we ordered was marginal (at best) and just not enjoyable. My brother ordered the eggplant parm which was actually pretty good. What we did love was the brussel sprout appetizer - if you go, DEFFF get that. Mom and I had ordered the lunch special (salad, entree and a dessert) and the dessert is not even worth mentioning. I just don't want to talk about it. The three stars only because I really loved the brussel sprout appetizer. It deserves its own star. read more

When compared to other Italian restaurants in Denver, I need to rate this one pretty low. The decor is very nice, however, the dishes are mediocre, decent at best. This was my third time having breakfast at Panzano. I always have the same thing: their eggs benedict, which is served on a roasted tomato polenta cake instead of an English muffin and has a generous amount of pesto with it. It is a giant piece of heaven right here on earth. What made this third trip to Panzano particularly memorable, however, was the service. My server, whose name I never learned, was COMPLETELY AWESOME. She indulged my early morning silliness, was cheerful, friendly, knew about the food on the menu, and was a great salesperson (Did you know we handmake all of our pastas? You should come back to dinner.) KEEP HER. She's amazing. I also really like the room here - it's nice. This will continue to be a go-to destination when I get back to Denver for work. Though maybe I'll have something other than breakfast here next time... read more

We came to Panzano as we were waiting for our rooms to be ready at the Monaco Hotel. So, we were here for lunch. I haven't been to a restaurant in a while that requires reservation during lunch hour, but I guess this place gets very busy. In fact, we ended up sitting at the bakery bar. This was actually quite an interesting experience, because the chefs were making truffles. The food was delicious!! I had the Power Lunch special with the gnocchi. The gnocchi were pan-fried which I didn't expect. Personally, I like my gnocchi in a sauce, but these were the "dry kind." They were perfectly prepared, though. The salad appetizer was great!! My favorite part was the bread. The bread with the tapenade was absolutely delicious!! i could've just had that for lunch :) I would highly recommend this restaurant! read more

Imagine arriving in Denver after dark in late December, the temperature outside is 9°F, and you're hungry. You look on your Yelp app to find somewhere to grab a bite, and find an Italian restaurant called Panzano, across the street from your Airbnb. This is it, you put your coat, scarf, and gloves on and run outside making sure to avoid any black ice patches, and make your way over, having absolutely no expectations. I was MIND BLOWN. I don't even prefer Italian food, but to this day, I think about Panzano sometimes. This is a MUST TRY. Every single thing I've had here was delicious. In the 1 week I was in Denver, we went a total of 3 times. Then, we went back to Denver 6 months later, AND WE HAD TO COME BACK (and our waiter remembered us and what we ordered on our first night!!). Great HAPPY HOUR deals too! Every day 2:30-6pm. I DREAM OF PASTICHE. GET IT. YOU WON'T REGRET IT. My bf got it the first time, and I couldn't stop stealing his. There are other delicious items on the menu, but when we come, we each get our own Pastiche.. 'cuz there's no way I'm sharing mine. This is something I would never gravitate towards on a menu. I don't like tortellini, I don't like meatballs, and I surely don't like "spiced custard" in the description of my entree. The "spiced custard" is only the smallest hint of sweetness which gives the dish a cinnamon-y and even heartier taste (like Thanksgiving). Other tasty menu items: PASTICHE PASTICHE PASTICHE (a pot of tasty tortellini in a tomato-ey sauce and meatballs) MELANZANE FRITTE (fried eggplant) CAVOLINI DI BRUXELLES (fried brussel sprouts) SCALLOPINI DI VITELLO (veal) RAGU DI AGNELLO (lamb ragu with the bombest soft pecorino) CARBONARA ALLA PANZANO (there's an egg on top, that's all I need to say) Sorry for all the caps, too much excitement for one Yelp review. read more

Happy Hour at Panzano: 2:30-6pm daily in Lounge. $3-$4 Small Plates, $3 Drafts, $4 Wines, $5 Specialty Cocktails. Since Westword just named Panzano Best Happy-Hour Deal - 2010, I had to check out this special. When you walk in you'll find the space is split into two areas; to your left you'll find the restaurant and to the right you'll find the lounge. The happy hour is only in the lounge, so you'll want to snag a seat at one of their high tops or booths. The vibe is pretty classy and upscale. The lounge was pretty hopping, our group ended up getting cozy around one of their small high tops. Drinks $3 Drafts, but all great beers... They offer Guinness, Stella Artois, Moretti, Full Sail Amber, and Odell's 5 Barrel Pale Ale. Not many places offer Guinness for three bucks, so I was immediately impressed. If beer is not your thing, they also offer 4 different wines priced at $4 and a long list of cocktails priced at $5. Food Here's where it gets good. They have 16 different Italian small plates priced between $3 and $4. If you like options, then this is your place! They have calamari, pizzas, sliders, pasta, shrimp, prosciutto, duck, lamb... a great variety! First I had the Salsiccia Pizza, which is comprised of Italian sausage, pepperoni, provolone, and pomodoro. The pizzas are about six inches in diameter and absolutely delicious! All the right seasonings and toppings to make for a great pie. If you like pizza they offer six different types on their happy hour menu. Now a six inch pizza is not gonna fill me up, so next I ordered the Pollo Marsala, which is described as pan seared organic chicken breast dusted with porcini flour served with Hazel Dell mushroom risotto and crisp prosciutto. The thing was beautifully garnished and displayed on the plate. Not only did it look good, it tasted pretty darn good too. The chicken was very tender and seasoned perfectly. I'll have to say I highly recommend this happy hour if you enjoy the finer things in life without the high price tag. Great beer selection, great food selection, great downtown atmosphere ...all at a great price! read more

Went here Saturday night with my boyfriend and his family. We flew in that afternoon and the people at The Ritz made us reservations. The chairs are short, but our waitor said they are getting new ones. Did the 6 course chef's tasting menu. 1st course was the burrata e salumi. Cheese and sausage were great, med pesto so-so. 2nd was the grilled ceasar, which was pretty rad. Never had a grilled salad before, and I'm pretty sure I prefer them. 3rd was the rosmarino tagliatelle. Good pasta and interesting flavors. Not the biggest corn fan, but it was okay. 4th was the mint sorbet. No thank you. Just a palate cleanser, but.. ew. 5th was the scallopine di vitello. Very tasty. Veal was juicy, sauce was great and the mashed potatoes were nice and garlicy. For dessert was a chocolate lavender patte. Not a fan. Service was good and the meal was pretty good. Tasting menu was only $45 dollars and the portions were very large. Not the best Italian food I've ever had, but it was worth the trip. read more

My boyfriend and I went for a late dinner last night; this was our first visit to Panzano. At 930, the restaurant was still quite busy. We were 15 min early for our reservation, so we went to the bar for a quick drink. Our bartender, a female with long brown hair, was very attentive and professional. We should have stayed at the bar for dinner... We were directed to our table. I was a bit disappointed because in our reservation I had specifically requested a booth. While I understand you "can't always get what you want" the hostess should have at least acknowledged my request and apologized for being unable to accommodate it. Our server came to our table almost immediately. No name or introduction and his lukewarm attitude continued for the remainder of our visit (hence my wish we had stayed with the bartender). We started off with the Calamari Fritti, "Crispy calamari with a spicy chili aioli" and the Crespelle ai Funghi, "Hazel Dell mushroom stuffed crepes, fonduta sauce, white truffle oil". Note: We wanted the Brussel Sprouts but they were out so the calamari was the replacement. The calamari was, you know...calamari. Aioli? Standard. The crepes were, AMAZING. Both my boyfriend and I kept saying thinks like, "wow", "oh my god", "I want to put this sauce on everything". Ridiculous. My boyfriend was a little upset when our server took the plate of fonduta sauce away (he was dipping the calamari in it)...which was both a little funny and a little clueless of the server. Next, I had the Insalata Mista, "Hand picked organic greens, sherry vinaigrette". It's a mixed green salad, which was a nice palatte cleanser after the richness of our antipasti. However, dressing was almost missing (and I wasn't offered any fresh ground pepper?) so I used the lemon from the calamari to add some acid to it. For Entrees, my boyfriend ordered the Pollo Marsala, "Pan seared chicken breast served over mushroom risotto, finished with a marsala demi and crispy prosciutto." I asked the waiter to order me the best pasta dish (mistake). The Pollo Marsala was good, the demi was rish and well done and so was the risotto. Chicken was overcooked. Everything was over salted, which is funny considering my dish was totally UNDER seasoned. Our server ordered me the Carbonara a la Panzano, "Tagliatelle with house-cured pancetta, Grana Padano, and cracked black pepper topped with a fried egg" I was disappointed, to say the least. While the pancetta was good (but that's kudos to the pig, whom I adore) the rest was mediocre at best. Padano was almost non-existent. Fried egg was cooked hard (instead of the yolk being nice and runny so that when you break it over the noodles, it helps with the sauce). And, there was no sauce, just some greasy oil at the bottom of my bowl. Unfortunate. We finished with the Tiramisu and a coffee and cappuccino. Coffee brand that they use it a-ok, we've had better. I did like the biscotti though that came with my cappuccino. Tiramisu was very good. However, our server was hovering at this point and actually tried to take it away from us, while we were still sippng our coffee! We were his last table and he wanted to be done. We get it, I was a server for years and my boyfriend a bartender. But that doesn't make it ok. Esp at a restaurant like this with price points like that. I tipped the server well, because I know that he has to tip out others. If I could, I would have given the entire tip to the young man that filled out waters and was the bus boy. He was very nice and pleasant and kept asking about how our night was going. He also chatted with my about the brunch. HE should be serving. That said, we probably won't be back. Except maybe to have those crepes, at the bar of course. read more

I came here for lunch with my parents and husband. We had some great wine and cocktails to start. Their old fashioned is barrel aged and the bartender was kind enough to tell us how they make it. This is my absolute favorite restaurant in Denver and has been since it opened. I don't go very often because of the high prices, but I always go when an out of town guest is visiting and for restaurant week. I also always attend the chefs demonstrations at the Italian Festival. I have never once been disappointed by any food I tried, and service is always impeccable. On my latest trip I tried the Pastiche. I was a little nervous about the cinnamon custard in a savory dish, but it turned out to be one of the best things I have never eaten in my life. Everyone raves about the grilled Caesar salad, and while its very good, but I like the regular Caesar better. Something about the crispy capers amazes me. I wish they put them on the grilled Caesar too. I can't wait for my next visit. read more

I was cautiously optimistic about this place when a friend suggested it for happy hour, and was pleasantly surprised. I've never had dinner here, but their happy hour was exactly what it needed to be. While normally somewhat expensive, their cocktail menu on happy hour is very reasonably priced. I went out on a limb and tried a basil/lemonade/vodka concoction that was DELICIOUS (and strong!). They have several options for small plates (categorized as $4, $5, and $6 plates) that are fairly small, but high-quality ingredients. Their flat bread pizzas were very good. It can get a little crowded in there for happy hour, but the service has always been prompt and friendly. read more

My boyfriend and I came here for restaurant week. We sat at the chefs table/counter and it was very exciting to see all the cooks at work. Ray was our server and he was amazing. :) I had the Brussels sprouts to start out with. Let me tell you every bite was so good and flavorful. My second course was the grilled Caesar which was just as good. My entree however was the eggplant. Let me just say I'm not a vegetarian or anything but being lent season and not being able to eat meat I went with this option. The eggplant dish was the BEST vegetarian meal I have ever had. Last but not least for dessert we had the lemon tart and chocolate crime brûlée. My favorite was the brûlée. Overall my experience here was amazing! Great atmosphere, great service, and great food. :) Thanks Panzano and Ray! read more

I was lucky to enjoy a fabulous New Year's Eve dinner at Panzano with a group of friends. We had our own private room downstairs in The Wine Cellar. We started with a cocktail/appetizer hour consisting of: Calamari with Spicy Aioli Sauce Marinated Tomato Bruschetta with Haystack Farms Goat Cheese Stuffed Hazel Dell Mushroom Caps with Spicy Italian Sausage Our dinner menu consisted of: Starter Course: Insalata Caprese (tomatoes, homemade mozzarella, 12-yr old Balsamic Riserva, Basil Oil and Toasted Pine Nuts), Fresh Baked Breads, and Olive Tapenade Primi Course: House made Potato Gnocchi, Sage, Brown Butter and Parmesan Entrée (your choice of one): Pollo al Marsala (Chicken Scallopini served over Mushroom Risotto with a Marsala Demi and Crispy Proscuitto); Ragu di Cinghiale (Farro Pappardelle tossed in Wild Boar Bolognese topped with Grana Padano); Gamberi Griglia (Grilled Jumbo Shrimp stuffed with Medjool Dates wrapped with House-Cured Pancetta served over Polenta, Topped with Gorgonzola Cheese). For my entrée I chose the Wild Boar Bolognese, which was beyond delicious. The portions were very generous. I was unable to finish my entrée so I took it with me and enjoyed it the following day for lunch. Dessert: Chef's Assorted Dessert Medley with coffee and tea service (Apple Pear Crostada, Flourless Chocolate Truffle Cake, Crème Brulee). I have never been disappointed with a meal at Panzano. Chef Elise and her staff are incredible at coaxing amazing flavors from food. Our New Year's Eve dinner was a perfect way to close out 2013. read more
