My first time in Maine and I was the first order of the season. I'm not sure which was better the food or the hospitality. From the beautiful young lady who greeted and sat me to the HR training coordinator. Never thought of coming back to Maine, but after this I may just have to revisit and try something else from the menu. My only complaint here is that I sent back the chowder they offered the bisque sonI said yes and without hesitation they charged me for their mishap of the chowder. I would like more seafood in the chowder and more lobster in the bisque, but both were flavorful. My chowder was salty so that's the reason for the send back. Service was extremely slow as in "May I have some drawn butter) - 8 minutes later they bring the butter. You had to pay if you wanted bread which irks me to no end. Lexi's tips were over done. If you're a vegetarian the most you can have is a grilled cheese, bread & mashed potatoes. Not vegetarian friendly; not even plain spaghetti. The lobster bisque was awesome, the salmon was great, the salads were huge .( 1 is enough for two people ) Both orders of steamers had to be taken away. So salty you couldn't eat them. At 1st I thought it was the butter but it wasn't. Tried a steamer plain & it definitely was so salty. Definitely the kitchen lacks expertise. I blame the chef. I blame management for not properly training all the servers who made multiple mistakes. I exchanged the steamers for the lobster sliders & they were spectacularly sensational. Our main waitperson was very accommodating. Overall an overpriced tourist trap commensurate with the pricing of most of the restaurants. Ogunquit is a beautiful seaside community, definitely not a blue collar town. read more

My 9 year old and I arrived in time for some glimpses of sunset and were a bit of a mess from the beach all day and a farm experience in the morning. I had asked someone at the restaurant earlier in the day about lobster rolls. I abhor mayonnaise and they educated me that I could chose a "hot lobster roll tossed in butter" instead and I said, "I will definitely prefer something hot"and made the plan to come back for dinner. My kiddo ordered the chicken strips upon recommendation of the waitress (great recommendation as it was plentiful and good, like really good and I wish I had ordered the same thing. I ordered the lobster roll, hot. We were enjoying the view and laughing with each other so it truly didn't bother me that it took some time for our food to be delivered and we all hate when people that came in after us get served first, but no big deal. When the food did come my kiddos fries were so hot she couldn't eat them right away and in my head, I was already trying to decide if I should send back my meal as my fries were barely warm. Instead I decided to just enjoy the environment and eat half my kids fries as they were SO GOOD! BUT then i tried the lobster roll and it too was barely warm. I just have a hard time with conflict and that is why I turned to reviewing as it is just easier and losing a few dollars to an unenjoyable experience is better then creating conflict in a restaurant, so I rarely return meals--- The flavor of the lobster was so good I took the risk of sending it back. Oddly, I found myself apologizing for them putting out nearly cold food. I thought, "its the end of the day, and we are in an outstanding place lets hope for the best". ARGH, I am not kidding you but it came back worse. I only took two small bites and they were a mixture of HOT and cold. Not enjoyable and I just gave up. Dealing with my anxiety issues I still didn't know what to do as two times a return? I really didn't want to pay 24$ for something I didn't eat so I mentioned it to the waitress and she said they would take it off the bill (I was so appreciative that is when I decided to let my kiddo have a second dessert for the day. ) Here is the response I got, "lobster rolls are just tossed with butter so they won't be all hot". Earlier in the day when I asked am employee thy said it was hot so why would I think that its acceptable to pay 24$ for a small hot/cold sandwich and cold fries? I, at one point during all of this said that I would be happy to pay for it and if I could try one the next day (ah, I said this before I okayed the second hot/cold lobster roll coming to the table). Not once did anyone apologize for the time waster and i found myself ordering dessert because I felt bad. I am going to blame my fatigue on this one as this isn't how things should go for this price of a restaurant or any. I still don't know if traditionally a hot lobster roll is supposed to be hot or cold or chunks of really hot and really cold together like my second one? I will find out for sure when I try to find another place that can sell me one..... i promised my kiddo i wouldn't make us get in the car today as we are in an outstanding condo with a great view (coincidentally this restaurant is in our view) and who wants to leave the beach on their last day Personally, I would go elsewhere as I got two different stories about the meals temperature, no apologies and I still found myself ordering dessert to go because I felt bad (I have no idea why I felt bad but I had to seek out a bag for the dessert and I had to ask two people for a carry out box for my kiddos chicken)And then I tipped 10$ for a kids meal, soda and two desserts I paid $49..........if the meal had been hot as i had been advised Earlier in the day, I have a feeling this review would be completely different as the flavors were on point and my daughters HOT fries were really good. I had some of her chicken and it was darn good as well. If you want a good portion kids meal with a view and a glass of wine I'd say go for it as it's such a quaint and pretty place.... If you are aiming for good service and less confusion...and want hot food then go to the restaurant down the way.. amazing pancakes. read more

Awesome food and great staff! Service was fantastic! Our servers were Krystal and Carlee. They were short staffed and you would never know it by the way they took care of each and every person dining. Jamie got us a great table right on the water and we didn't have to sit on the awful bar stools! That's the only complaint I have. The drinks were so good! The to go ordering outside is perfect. You can view the menu, order, and head back to the beach. While waiting they have seating for you. I ordered the lobster grilled cheese and was impressed. They didn't hold back on the lobster, in fact they put a cup of lobster on the side! The cheese to lobster ratio was perfect. The bread was toasted and delicious. We came for lunch and sat upstairs and outside. First of all, we got there right after they opened and I completely respected that they staggered people sitting (made you wait five minutes before seating you even though they had the tables) so that they did not overwhelm the staff and kitchen. Good: location and view. Beautiful. Less than good: lobster punch tasted like the free rum punch you get on cruise ship excursions in the Caribbean. Lobster roll was OK. Fried had doc plate was meh. Upstairs lighting over-bright and bus table in main dining space makes for occasional surprise noises as dishes are chucked into the bin. If you go, get a seat on deck facing intercostal. Lobster Bisque & Clam Chowder were both smooth, rich, creamy. Caeser Salad with Grilled Chicken was large & fresh. Overstuffed Lobster Roll was served with slaw, kettle chips, & pickle. Fried whole-belly clams were light & crunchy with no greasy taste. Delicious & served with Fries. The Grilled Cheese Lobster Sandwich ~ Cheddar, Lobster, Tomato, Applewood Smoked Bacon, Artisan Bread ~ was so large & stuffed with Lobster that I took half in a box. Fries were really good too. Beware when ordering take-out! I came here today for takeout because I wanted a lobster roll with butter. While I waited on line I saw the menu (attached) clearly says the lobster roll is made with butter. After I paid for my meal and was waiting for it to come, I heard the lady behind the counter tell another customer that the lobster roll was made with mayonnaise and not butter. I wouldn't have gotten the lobster roll if I knew it was with mayonnaise but it was too late. Either put up a sign or change the menu. It's too much money to spend for something you didn't want. read more

This place was a 2.5... just because of the cost and details. We sat along their banquet and the chairs they have along those tables are a good 6 inches lower than the bench... off putting. Their "Colossal" lobster roll has a ton of lobster, but the bread was over toasted and it needed more sauce. And it was $2 less than the full 1.5 lb lobster I ate the night before at a restaurant in Perkins cove. They have frozen drinks, my wife has the Prosecco Punch... which wasn't fully blended. The atmosphere was upscale casual, but they don't have screens or an air curtain or fly lights so there were fruit flies and biting flies around us the whole meal. The French fries on their full belly clam platter were flavorful... but cold and it was the smallest portion of clams we've had in Ogunquit for the highest price. Positives: the clam chowder was great and hot, the waitress was excellent, the view was beautiful. For the cost, I'd go to any one of the dozens of lobster shacks on Ogunquit... this was very expensive for an over all mediocre experience. read more

This place is the best!! Jameson was our server and he was exceptional;so friendly, getting all our drink orders correct and handling the whole room with grace. We were a party of 8 -we were seated promptly. We had a variety of appetizers- crab cakes, scallops in bacon, oysters and maple chicken wings- which are some of the best wings around. We had variety of food ranging from the lobster packed raviolis with a light cream sauce, honey cajun salmon, filet mignon and scallops. All really high quality plates. This was my favorite please to eat on our coastal tour up and down New England coast. U first walk in u will be impressed by the contemporary furniture and the big windows that highlights the awesome view of the sea...and those cool fans! We sat down and were amazed by the specially prized lunch options such as lobster mack and cheese for $10.99, which my daughter ordered, lobster on the side please. Hubby, myself and the in-laws ordered the lobster and it was so fresh, meaty and tender...best we've had our whole trip...and you buy 1 lobster and you get another fir half the price and it came with corn, steamed clams and a piece of pie. read more

My friends set this up for our New Years Eve celebration. Actually, we waited till the last minute to decide what to do and were limited with options. But we were able to get a table for 4 reservation for 5:30. The location is right on the beach which in the summer will be great...the downside is that the place was so cold throughout the meal. Of course, we were in a deep freeze period in Maine, but still. The meal option was a 5 course set plate for a set price. It was heavy on the seafood, obviously so it was good we all loved seafood. The options have a lot of lobster creations which I was happy for when I looked over the menu. Was a bit afraid that there will be a lot of food, and I was looking to eat light. The lobster fingers were different. Wrapped in prosciutto and fried. Not bad...I did enjoy them. My table mates were as impressed. The other courses were just as appealing and went were paced nicely during the evening. The server as very attentive to our group and made sure we were happy with our drinks and meals. I enjoyed that the football game was available on TV from our table. That was an added bonus for me. :-) The main course option of lobster (something) but don't remember the name. Anyway, it reminded me of a stuffed haddock filling, but with lobster. It was fine...I mean...it's lobster, but I would not have it again. My friend had the rack of lamb and basically cleaned the bones clear off of any and all meat. Dessert options were creme brulee and a chocolate mousse cake. Stumbled upon this place as it was close to our hotel. The decor is clean, beautiful and comfortable, the staff friendly, attentive and efficient and the food was fantastic. I had somewhat given uo on the standard Maine shore dinner because of all the places where they undercook the steamers and the lobsters but these folks know how to prep and cook these Maine signature items and they hit it out of the park with their blueberry pie. They carry White Allegash which has become my new favorite craft beer. It's a fun, friendly atmosphere to hang with a group or by yourself. The views are incredible. I got the lobster roll cold with mayo and it was PACKED with delicious lightly mayoed lobster. This place does NOT skimp you on lobster!!
