    Two very happy diners!

Wonderful experience! Food was superb and server was attentive and pleasant. We will definitely return next visit to Ogunquit.

We had dinner here this week, and it was outstanding. I called and made a reservation a couple of weeks ahead of our visit (we were there on a Monday night, and in the restaurant area it was pretty quiet - just us and one other table). First things first - parking is super easy, it's a free valet service (not obvious at first, as there is parking behind the restaurant, but you're greeted right away when you pull in). We walked through the bar area, over to the restaurant area (surprisingly the bar was quite full), and were able to choose a table by one of the two fireplaces. On the restaurant side, it feels very cozy, and homey, exactly where you want to spend a cold night, inside eating dinner. Our server was lovely, greeted us right away and provided menus. I started with a cosmo (they had flavored versions like strawberry, but I elected to go for the classic). For an appetizer, we started with the bacon wrapped scallops - the bacon was maple glazed, and wonderfully crispy, with the scallops cooked perfectly, and some micro-greens scattered on the plate - delicious. For entrees, my mom had the baked seafood stuffed haddock which came with a lobster sherry cream sauce, a massive pile of perfectly cooked green beans, and mashed potatoes (yum). I went with the duck special, which was absolutely delightful. It came with Brussels sprouts, and I subbed out the au gratin (I very strongly dislike sweet potatoes), for mashed potatoes. It was delicious. We were so full, we opted for dessert to go (chocolate cake), which was generously portioned, and decadently delicious. We really enjoyed the meal - this was a wonderful dinner to celebrate my mom's 80th birthday!

It is "THE" place to come for dinner! Lovely ambience that isn't too loud to have a conversation while enjoying your meal. Okay now for the food!! Our appetizer was AMAZING AND SO DELICIOUS! The scallops were tender and perfectly cooked with the crispy bacon-we were sorry we didn't double the order. Our entrees were equally as delicious. I ordered the crab stuffed shrimp in a light cream sauce that wasn't overpowering the seafood. I would definitely come back again!

Stumbled upon That Place in Ogunquit last night and was so happy we did. The service was fantastic the food maybe even better. Parking was right but they have valet which was easy. We started with scallops wrapped in bacon and their bread service. The butter was sweetened and the bread was great. The scallops with bacon were excellent. My husband enjoyed a few vodka with cranberry and he wasn't disappointed. He chose the crab stuffed shrimp and sincerely loved it. The rice and green beans were great but he was full from the shrimp. I chose the filet with a lobster tail, fingerling potatoes and asparagus. Everything was simply superb. Dress was casual and the place was clean. Not thinking they are accessible though as there were steps going in the two doors we used.

Now this restaurant was fabulous! Drinks were delicious, started off with chocolate martinis, which were really good. We moved onto Aji tuna and seafood, stuffed fish. The tune was gorgeous to look at as well as taste. The seafood stuffed piece of fish was outstanding. Perfectly broiled with a crispy and crunchy garlicky, crumb topping. Mashed potatoes were creamy and buttery. Our waitress from Romania was a doll! Really efficient and we didn't need to ask for anything. She provided everything we needed.

Delighted with the quality of the service and the quality of the food - asking for a table for one can be dicey but they were wonderful and I had a great experience. Someone somewhere on the internet questioned the quality of the baked, seafood-stuffed haddock but my version of the dish was a delight. Ambiance was great. No complaints, wish I lived in town and could visit more often.

We came to That Place for our first-anniversary dinner, and it was great! The ambiance is lovely, and we had wonderful service and food. Unfortunately, they do not take reservations for small parties, so we were worried about getting a table, but it ended up being absolutely fine. I am sure during the busy season this may not be the case, so be sure to plan ahead! My only critique is the vegetarian options - I would have loved to see a few more veggie-friendly dishes on the menu! We ordered a salad to start that had bacon on it, even though it was not listed on the menu. Vegetarians - just be sure to ask before ordering! We will definitely be back for a future visit!

My wife had the lobster fettuccine Alfredo. They make the pasta every morning and it was the best I've ever had!.our our lobster purses were our appetizer and they were phenomenal! So we ordered a couple Martinis bought over in her hands with fingers touching the rim of the glass....what ever happened to a TRAY? FOOD. Got the Special SCALLOPS.....my goodness what a culinary disaster. These were DEEP FRIED RAW....YES DEEP FIReD and with some kind of basil creamy sauce place on each rubbery over cooked scallop....maybe to hide the taste of the greasy salty Scallops. On the plate was a timbale of rice ( displayed circa 1995) sticky gluey mess that was supposed to be Citrus herbaceous. UGH. And then some thinly sliced courgette AKA zucchini and yellow squash BOTH HAD NO SALT on them whatsoever......those two vegetables are the cheapest you can buy but my SCALLOPS dish was $52.00. My wife had the LOBSTER BAKED HADDOCK. It was enormous serving of haddock ( quite fresh) with again some TASTELSS vegetables and creamy mashed potatoes ( she liked them). THIS HUGE salad that everyone gets as part of the meal. 15 different ingredients in it ! WHY? Mixing fruit and vegetables within a salad is not culinary classically correct.....ASK the chef he is from New England Culinary Institute. Had two glasses PROSECCO. Very nice. Server quite good but she was selling FARO SALMON ALL NIGHT to other guests. It is. NOT FARo Salmon it is fish caught ( line caught) off the Northern Hebrides North of Scotland near a place calledFaro Islands.! $200.00 was the bill. And it's served on the back side of the kitchen check ! Some kind of scribble which is hard to recognize. This year we have been to all the top restaurants in and around the areas of OGT and such, and I have to tell you this was really the WORST experience WE have both ever had. LAST YEAR IT WAS GREAT food there. As a chef and restaurant owner I think Franky and Johnny have lost their way and their focus is off kilter. It's sad to see this.....because it's a nice place. I dont want to be bombarded with heaps of food I want correctly seasoned appropriate size food and a lovely smile when I come in the front door. Sorry for the low score.

The food was great as well, though I wasn't a particularly big fan of the wood-fired beets (if you like horseradish on beet, you would like them). Fried oysters were great, I mean really good. We understood it would be a limited holiday brunch menu instead of the regular dinner menu, which was fine. However, by the time we sat down to order, almost all of the options were already sold out. Our entire table basically had to order the exact same thing because there was nothing else left. The space is lovely and it's a nice spot for a regular dinner, but they were definitely not equipped for the holiday rush. Don't go for Mother's Day.

What we ordered: -Cornbread: 3/5, great portion to share with the table and piping hot which I loved but wish it was moister and had more honey on top. -Caesar salad: 5/5, incredibly fresh, dressing was delicious and evenly spread among the whole salad, fresh anchovies on top were a nice touch -Crabcakes: 4.8/5, only comes with 2 but the cakes were very fresh and flavorful. The corn on top was very boring I wish they spiced it up a bit but it did not take away from the flavor of the cakes so I kept the score high. -Lobster Pappardelle: 5/5, one of my favorite meals we ate on vacation!! Generous lobster portion with perfectly cooked pappardelle in a very tasty sauce. I already miss it and wish I could eat it again. -Braised Short Rib: 3.8/5, beautiful presentation and everything tasted great but very small polenta/carrot portions and I wish the meat was more tender. It wasn't bad, it just didn't blow my socks off. -Espresso crème brûlée: 4.5/5, was the perfect birthday dessert for my boyfriend and he absolutely loved it. Quality espresso flavor, wish it was a little crispier on top. Food was ~4/5 but our overall experience was 5/5. Our server, Pedro, was so friendly and helped us with dish recommendations. When I told him we were celebrating a birthday, he brought the crème brûlée out with a candle and two other staff members to sing to him which was so sweet. We sat at a table by the window on the first floor. We overheard that there is an upstairs bar, not sure if they also seat folks for dinner there. We were able to place an order right after getting settled. We enjoyed the Sun mocktail, charred beet salad, mac and cheese, fried codd sandwich, steak frites, and corn ravioli (without the pancetta). My spouse is gluten free and I am vegetarian so we are always looking for restaurants that can accommodate both. The charred beet salad was good but I think dressed a bit too heavily. I thought the corn ravioli and sun mocktail were both great. The kids (ages 1.5 and 5) liked the Mac and cheese and fried cod sandwich. They did not have any appropriate booster seats for the 1.5 year old so my spouse held him. My spouse loved the steak frites but I think wished had a few more "frites" given the amount of interest from the younger crowd. Our waiter was wonderful and also brought some orange slices from the bar for the kids. We were very grateful. We decided to go nearby for ice cream after dinner, but I heard there is a dessert menu.
