Very charming restaurant in an old house with a nice outdoor patio. Made reservations to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday while vacationing in Maine and we had a great experience. What we ordered: -Cornbread: 3/5, great portion to share with the table and piping hot which I loved but wish it was moister and had more honey on top. -Caesar salad: 5/5, incredibly fresh, dressing was delicious and evenly spread among the whole salad, fresh anchovies on top were a nice touch -Crabcakes: 4.8/5, only comes with 2 but the cakes were very fresh and flavorful. The corn on top was very boring I wish they spiced it up a bit but it did not take away from the flavor of the cakes so I kept the score high. -Lobster Pappardelle: 5/5, one of my favorite meals we ate on vacation!! Generous lobster portion with perfectly cooked pappardelle in a very tasty sauce. I already miss it and wish I could eat it again. -Braised Short Rib: 3.8/5, beautiful presentation and everything tasted great but very small polenta/carrot portions and I wish the meat was more tender. It wasn't bad, it just didn't blow my socks off. -Espresso crème brûlée: 4.5/5, was the perfect birthday dessert for my boyfriend and he absolutely loved it. Quality espresso flavor, wish it was a little crispier on top. Food was ~4/5 but our overall experience was 5/5. Our server, Pedro, was so friendly and helped us with dish recommendations. When I told him we were celebrating a birthday, he brought the crème brûlée out with a candle and two other staff members to sing to him which was so sweet. We took our small family to an early dinner at crooked pine. We made a reservation for 4:30 (one of the few times they had available on this rainy day). We sat at a table by the window on the first floor. We overheard that there is an upstairs bar, not sure if they also seat folks for dinner there. We were able to place an order right after getting settled. We enjoyed the Sun mocktail, charred beet salad, mac and cheese, fried codd sandwich, steak frites, and corn ravioli (without the pancetta). My spouse is gluten free and I am vegetarian so we are always looking for restaurants that can accommodate both. The charred beet salad was good but I think dressed a bit too heavily. I thought the corn ravioli and sun mocktail were both great. The kids (ages 1.5 and 5) liked the Mac and cheese and fried cod sandwich. They did not have any appropriate booster seats for the 1.5 year old so my spouse held him. My spouse loved the steak frites but I think wished had a few more "frites" given the amount of interest from the younger crowd. Our waiter was wonderful and also brought some orange slices from the bar for the kids. We were very grateful. We decided to go nearby for ice cream after dinner, but I heard there is a dessert menu. read more

When a place is busy and you're not in the mood to look for other options, you hope the service is competent. You hope the food satisfies, you hope the ambience is warm and welcoming. Gosh, you just hope you made a memorable choice for the right reasons. We did - we both felt we not only received value for our dining dollars, we felt cared for by the staff and satiated by the kitchen. People like sitting outside - so the reservations reflected that and we could only be seated inside. Was not a disappointment to be seated inside. I highly recommend this restaurant. I had a steak sandwich and my dining partner had a chicken sandwich. Both were really tasty and well prepared. We only had water to drink and that was not a problem. I feel many times if I don't order an app or a drink a server becomes less friendly. That wasn't our experience here. I don't believe in over rewarding a place - but I feel a 4.5 out of 5 is appropriate. Since I can't give that - I rounded up to 5. read more

Returned to Crooked Pine for the third time and after 5 nights of dining out in Ogunquit, it was the best meal of the week. That said it was crazy busy which made for very slow service. This was also the second time we chose to dine in their outdoor space. Unfortunately, the interior of this restaurant is extremely unattractive. In fact, ugly to look at. Absolutely no sense of style or decor or design of any kind. Everything painted the same shade of putrid green and porch seating that is unappealing and stuffy making it difficult to breathe. Will return due to the food but they are in desperate need of an interior makeover. I mean it's really an overwhelmingly unattractive room to dine in. read more

Delicious! The restaurant was decorated very well. We could hear our friends since it wasnt too loud. We ordered the mussels, beet salad, and wings to start. I will think about the mussel dish for months after this. It had this creamy mushroom sauce and my only regret was not asking for more bread or ordering another one to enjoy. The beet salad was also delicious. It had this spicy and creamy sauce. Wings were smokey and flavorful. My husband had the halibut with this Delicious lemon and caper sauce. Visiting Ogunquit for a family wedding we stopped into the Crooked Pine for dinner. It is located on the main drag and is attractive from the outside. With steps at the entrance there is a ramp at the back of the restaurant for people with mobility issues. They were very nice and accommodating in helping with the entrance but it is a steep ramp actually easier to use in a wheelchair than a walker. The service was professional and friendly. The coconut corn chowder was fabulous as was the mushroom ragout. Definitely worth a visit! read more

In a town with endless options, it's hard to find a place that feels authentic and stands up to the rest. For us, Crooked Pine has become an absolute favorite in Ogunquit! We came for dinner on our anniversary in September, and had an amazing time. Their service is top-notch, and they have a very creative menu. There are not many vegetarian options in Ogunquit (let's be real.... it's all seafood), so I was super pumped to see that Crooked Pine had a few! The food was outstanding, and the dessert stole the show (make sure to get some!). Came to the Crooked Pine for dinner one Thursday night and I had the bar to myself. I was dining solo and just wanted to grab something small, wanted to bounce around the town and check out as many places as I could. The bartender was awesome, she was super laid back letting me do my thing but later on we started chatting about the town and she gave me some cool recommendations of where to spend the rest of the night. I was drinking water and she didn't give me a look for not drinking, like some bartenders do, which was really appreciated. I got a salad and added some grilled chicken. I could not believe the chicken portion, it was huge! It was a quick in and out stay and onto the next place but it seemed like a neighborhood spot, like where they had a lot of regulars. We had a great dinner experience at The Crooked Pine, but we expected it to be better based on other reviews. We went on a Saturday evening in July--peak tourist season--and thank God we had a reservation because both Ogunquit and the restaurant were packed to the max. Also, they do not have parking, so I recommend you give yourself 10-15 minutes to find parking, especially during the summer. Let's start with the good stuff: the service was excellent. The staff, both the hosts and wait staff, were excellent; friendly and prompt throughout the night. The restaurant itself is beautiful. They have a patio area (prime stuff for people watching, which we unfortunately did not get), indoor space, and a separate bar area. The indoor space felt like a cozy home (although they do pack quite a few tables in the space!). The drinks were also delicious. They had an extensive cocktail menu and plenty of spirits. The 14 Sheets cocktail was terrific, and the Paddington was also excellent. Both drinks were strong and well-balanced. The food ended up being more of a meh experience for us. We started with the Mac & Cheese ($14, from their appetizers list), and it was okay, but we definitely have had better. It could've used more cheese and spices to elevate the flavors. My husband ordered a burger, and I ordered the halibut piccata, and both were subpar. The burger's consistency didn't match the medium-rare temp we asked for, and my husband's theory is that it was a previously frozen patty. He opted for a side of tortellini salad (they offer a few fun sides for burgers), and honestly, that was the best part of the meal. My halibut piccata was disappointing for multiple reasons. First, the food-to-price ratio: they gave me so little pasta that I had to slow down to not finish everything in 5 minutes. Then, the halibut was incredibly dry. All in all, it was not worth the $30+. I recently had chicken piccata at another restaurant; sadly, this was laughable compared to my other experience. All in all, it was an okay experience. Tasty drinks and food! The Duck Wing app was excellent and actually went really well with the roasted carrot app! Service was attentive and not "checking in" so really good. The bar is a good place to hang with some of the locals and also get a really good meal. The tables along the "porch" are a great people watching spot to enjoy your meal as well. The location is great right on Shore Rd near the beach and all the good spots to enjoy a night out in downtown Ogunquit. read more

Our server showed up promptly, I ordered wine he asked if we were ready to order. Really? I'm a small guy, small appetite. Ordered Caesar salad, salmon with kale and pancetta, white bean purée. Salad came out in seconds, limp and seemingly pre-dressed. Tiny piece of 1/2 inch thick, overcooked crusty salmon, worst I've ever had anywhere in decades. Kale drowning in large chunks of pancetta. Bland white bean purée. From sit down to check, meal over in 42 minutes. How can ANY decent restaurant have you order and prepare a decent meal in that amount of time.......this isn't supposed to be Mc Donald's. Duke was our server and he was excellent and attentive. Our dinner was perfect, we had the fiddleheads and miso mushrooms for apps and the swordfish and gnocchi for dinner. We had a beautiful and private table overlooking main st. And felt welcome and cozy. Drink list was thoughtful as were the wines. Ok dinner experience. We went on a Friday night in October. There were people everywhere and our server said it was busier than a summer night. Fortunately we had a reservation and were seated right away. Our table was on the porch which was ok. But we were next to the door and it slammed shut every time someone went in or out. There was a curtain to block us but people waiting to get in would bump into us. I think the table is an ok option for a walk in but not when you have a reservation. I ordered the beet salad and French onion soup for my meal. Salad was good. Soup was ok but way too pricey for what it was. My bf had the pork tenderloin. It looked great and he said it was tasty. But the portion was very small. The description said it came with brussel sprouts, but it was literally one sprout cut in half. A salad or appetizer would be needed but it took a while to get our drinks and food so he did not want to order anything else. Unfortunately he left dinner still hungry. Wonderful night! Started with the hostess, Phoebe (?) who accommodated us when the initial table was not acceptable. We ended up at a primo table on the porch with windows overlooking the street (great people watching!) Started with the mussels appetizer. Delish! Portion was huge, sauce was delicious and the mussels were sweet and petite. Zach was our waiter. Very attentive and knowledgeable. We had the chicken Milanese and shellfish risotto for entrees. Never again. I ordered a Caesar salad with salmon. It was a small caesar salad, it was missing the Parmesan cheese, and the salmon was tiny, a child's portion and all that for 38 dollars. Instead, go to the Front Yard restaurant, great experience. Or Angelinas, both have great food and plenty of it. read more
