This was our first dinner for the weekend and it definitely set the standards high! We had the cornbread skillet which came with hot honey and to our surprise it was hot as in a little spicy and not just the temperature! Super delicious. We also got the ricotta appetizer that came with crostini's. It was such a nice creamy texture. My friend got the crooked burger and LOVED it. It was cooked perfectly and seasoned well. Other friend had the halibut and it was well put together. Flavors blended well, had a good miso black garlic butter on top with a crab rice to go with it. Beautifully put together and tasted fantastic. I had the lobster roll which had a surprising different taste to it than the normal utter or Mayo , I couldn't figure out what it was but it was very refreshing! Hopping on a Saturday , but I snagged a high-top in the bar. Enjoyed a kale Caesar with whole anchovies, then halibut piccata, which was absolutely amazing. Perfectly cooked and served over spaghetti with an unctuous caper sauce that perfectly complemented the fish. Drank Picpoul de Pinet, not often found on a wine list by the glass, but a perfect accompaniment to the halibut. Servers were friendly and efficient. I'll return next time I'm in Ogunquit. A bit of Morocco in Maine! Lamb tangine with duck wing appetizer. Flavor packed and accompanied by a great Negroni. Perfect service with a view on the porch. Miss the old Gypsy Sweethearts but this replacement is staying open year round closing just for the month of January. Traveled to Ogunquit for Mother's Day weekend and decided to make reservations at the crooked pine based off of reviews. We were traveling with two young children, if visiting be aware that there is no children's menu. Our boys were adventurous eaters but I know so many kids are not. We ordered two appetizers, the ricotta and the Brie toast. The kids loved the Brie toast so much.... we almost didn't get a bite! The ricotta was out of this world as was the Brie. The boys split the beer battered fish and chips and finished every bite. I had the salmon over the wedge salad and it was DELICIOUS. The staff was so great and the ambiance was wonderful. It was ok, tight spaces inside, wait staff was great. Food seems like they are trying to hard. I had mussels, came in a white cream sauce, prosciutto and green apples. The apples did nothing for the dish, didn't hinder or help. Had the stuffed shrimp, fingerling potatoes and broccolini. Broccolini was under cooked, no seasoning, two small fingerling potatoes ( boiled) and shrimp was not stuffed, it was stuffing on a plate and shrimp on top. Shrimp was rubbery, stuffing was good. So I am only giving The Crooked Pine 2 stars. Four of us went there on July 4th. We sat at the bar. Three of the meals were good and one of them, the pork dish was dry. The other was the bartender berated a server in front of customers about him touching slips at the service bar. Then they go back in the kitchen and you can hear her screaming at him dropping the F-BOMB!!! The 8 of us all heard what was going on. When she came back out behind the bar she was slamming things and spilling stuff all over the place. We all felt bad for the server. No one should be treated like that. We will not go back! Stopped here on a rainy day visit to Ogunquit over Memorial Day weekend. The town was packed and it was pouring out, but when we stopped in around lunch, we were promptly seated. It was the perfect cozy atmosphere for a chilly and rainy day. There are several small cute rooms and a bar, which was lively. The drinks all looked amazing (even though we didn't get any!). We ordered the French onion soup and the bbq burger. I try French onion at many restaurants and this was by far one of the best I've ever had. It was SOOO good! The bbq burger was also great, along with the mixed greens on the side. Service was also great and the server was friendly and attentive. Many of the restaurants we tried on our trip to maine had a touristy feel...but this one felt very local and authentic. My family is a fan of Brix and Brine, so we had to give Crooked Pine a try when the opportunity presented. We made a reservation about a week in advance on a Friday. The tables are nicely spaced out so you do not feel like you are sitting on top of each other. The room was loud, but that is expected in a converted space, but it was very cozy. The specials were very fun and the entrees were excellent. The cocktails and mocktails are creative and tasty. We had the Prosciutto & Burrata to start, it was very nice but it would have been nice to have a couple more pieces of toast. Stuffed Haddock was very tasty, the sauce is just nice to compliment the dish. Miso glazed pork tenderloin a hit with my daughter. My son got the grilled octopus special, which he felt was more appetizer size, but very tasty. My wife got the walnut pesto gnocchi which she really enjoyed and thought the additional on the walnuts to the pesto was fantastic. I would highly recommend the Crooked Pine. It was our first night in Ogunquit and we chose The Crooked Pine based on the charm of the building and their online menu. (My son is Gluten free.) We were so glad that we had. The hostess and waitstaff were friendly and attentive and the interior of the restaurant was warm and inviting. My son had the chicken leg and I ordered the ceasar salad with salmon. He loved his selection and as I told the server, that was the best ceasar salad and the most delicious salmon I have ever tasted. Definitely a place to try if you are a foodie. Started with the French onion soup and it was amazing with lots of deep flavor. I had the mussels for dinner even though it was an appetizer. The portion is huge for only $16. The sauce was amazing with tons of flavor between the cream, mushrooms and pancetta. My boyfriend got the pork tenderloin and ate the whole meal. The requested wine list was never delivered and dirty dishes littered our table all evening, but this poor kid was in the weeds, covering most of the restaurant by himself. This place is amazing!! I've been here quite a few times and would recommend it to anyone in the area. The menu rotates a bit but everything I've had has been delicious. They also have half off bottles of rose Thursday's and half off bubbly on Sunday's. The servers are always super friendly, the portions are large and filling but not so much that you leave feeling sick, the ingredients are always high quality, everything I've tried and same with others I've dined with have loved every single dish.
