I saw that they were fully booked but called to see if they did walk-ins. Unfortunately they didnt, so we just stalked their Resy until something opened up, so we booked and arrived at 7pm! We were sat in a dimly lit corner, which we switched but caused a big ruckus. The front of house staff approached us and actually asked if we had a reservation, and how we got sat there and if we just walked in...it was a tad odd to be questioned but I think it was a miscommunication amongst staff. After that, we settled in, grabbed a drink and ordered some mussels (with cream), two orders of scallops and a blueberry pie for dessert. The mussels were very good, honestly our only critic was more bread! They can always serve more bread with steamed mussels so people can sop up as much liquid as possible! The scallops were definitely the star and I highly recommend them. You get 5 large scallops with a gorgeous crust, soft potatoes all sitting on a delicious corn and bacon sauce. Really, this is a must have when visiting. Last, our blueberry pie was great! Those fresh Maine blueberries were so sweet on the side, it really perked up the dish! Overall we loved the food, but the ambiance suffered from some other guests. There was a large party sat behind us with multiple kids. They scream, they ran around, they threw stuff....and the staff did not seem to care. The family themselves didnt seem to care! They enjoyed their meal and let the kids do their own thing. Once they party got their bill and left, at least 3 tables (including us), all breathed a sigh of relief and we all bonded over the craziness of the last 25 minutes. I wish the staff would've controlled the room a bit more as we know they were fine approaching us about changing seating. But I digress! We made reservations through Resy and asked to sit on the patio as it was a beautiful night. We were told the patio was walk-in only. So, people who do not make reservations get the best seat?! Crazy. So, if you want the patio, DO NOT make a reservation lol. The food was excellent. We all had a halibut variation and it was as delicious with a lovely presentation. The house salad was very over-priced. I would have loved a smaller, cheaper salad. My 5 year old ate every bite of his grilled cheese. The kids menu was great! Only negative was the seating. We had appetizer of the mussels in red sauce - tender mussels, but someone hid the parsley, garlic and red pepper flakes from the chef. The entree of fish and chips despite having fresh haddock had a cracker like bland coating. No attempt at a peppery Italian seasoning on the breading which was not tempura crispy. We went to The Maine Catch after a recommendation from a friend. We were sleeping on this place! The food, the service, the atmosphere? Perfect. We called ahead and made reservations for the patio. This was our first time fine dining with our 6 month old and we had the best experience. My husband had the clam linguine which he said rivaled the spaghetti ala vongole we had in Italy and I had the broiled seafood trio (absolutely DIVINE). I am gluten free but currently also dairy free due to my baby having a dairy allergy. They were super accommodating of our allergies/intolerances and if our food was AS delicious as it was with modification- I can't even imagine how good the rest of the food is with dairy and gluten. We loved our meals so much we came back a second night for a repeat. This place does not miss. The oysters were incredible as were the drinks. This was our 2nd time here and it was just as good as the first. First due to a special diet I need to be very careful about my eating. They were so accommodating with everything. What a delicious dinner!! Everything was absolutely perfect. Our waitress was excellent and even with my elderly parents asking ridiculous questions and taking forever to answer her, she was still happy and very kind and understanding. The Maine Catch, I believe, might be my favorite restaurant EVER! My wife and I are obsessed. We traveled here from NJ for the last two years and came here, getting hooked last year and working our itinerary around a dinner here this time. First off - I'm hooked on the Maine Lemonade, which is my favorite drink now. So, so good. My wife and I both got the same meals we did last year. First, my 7 year old daughter went with the buttered pasta, and she ate it all (usually doesn't). So A+ there. We started with the brussel sprouts appetizer and shared a caesar salad. The brussel sprouts were the best I've ever had, seriously. I don't know how they char them like that, but with the bacon and bleu cheese and the charring they give them, just wow. A+++. Caesar salad is delicious too. Now, for the entrees I get the Seafood Newburg and my wife gets the Rigatoni Panna with added lobster. Let me tell you, as much as my Seafood Newburg is perfect and I wanted to drink it out of the bowl like soup, I was actually a little jealous of that pasta dish, it was incredible. My wife and I are not super easy to please either. This restaurant is amazing. Our service was super sweet and friendly also. We also sat outside (late August) and it was beautiful. The Maine Catch has so much potential. The food was terrific -- everything we ate was delicious -- but the service (or lack thereof) left a lot to be desired. Thankfully, we went to The Maine Catch on Saturday with reservations, as they were packed. The restaurant is beautiful and has plenty of parking; it's between Perkins Cove and Ogunquit's Main Street, nestled amidst countless of trees. They have outdoor and indoor seating. From the moment we walked inside and told the hostess we had a reservation, we were met with a cold vibe, very unlike Maine and Ogunquit ( and something you wouldn't expect at a restaurant of this caliber). Our waitress's service was no better. She seemed checked out, and everything felt very transactional. The food made its way to us quickly--sometimes too quickly, as in the case of the crispy calamari starter--which led to a few misses, like having the food arrive before our drinks. Our waitress just seemed to not care. She'd talk to us in passing and do the bare minimum. It was one of the worst services we've seen at a Maine restaurant. The one thing that saved The Maine Catch, and the reason they're still getting 4-stars, is the food. Our crispy calamari was perfect; not too much breading or super greasy, as is usually the case. The accompanying sauce had a nice kick to it. My partner's lobster mac and cheese was the best we've ever had, and the portion was generous. My blackened salmon, with rice and veggies, was also a 10/10 and probably one of the best salmons I've eaten. The rice was cooked to perfection. Would we come back to The Maine Catch? We made reservations only a couple hours ahead of time. We were seated upstairs and our server Shannon was amazing- very friendly and nice. We ordered the garden salad which was actually quite a decent portion and nice. I ordered the grilled salmon and the hubs ordered the lobster Mac and cheese. When they brought the entrees- mine was incorrect - was a scallops dish instead of salmon. We told the server and she corrected the order. I ate the salad meanwhile and then the salmon arrived. It came with rice and a side of their kale vegetable medley which was nice. The salmon was tender although there were parts of it that were blackened almost burnt. Hubs liked the Mac n cheese - quite a large portion so he had leftovers. The restaurant seems popular as it was fairly crowded and the ambiance was cozy. Seemed like people sitting at the bar too. This place was next door to the hotel we were staying at and decided to try it after reading some reviews, we entered into the restaurant to find a very Rustic but charming/romantic coastal place. We were met by a friendly host who promptly seated us. Within 3 minutes our waiter came by with water for us and took our drink orders and made some Recommendations on appetizers. We went with the raw oysters and clam chowder. Within 5-6 minutes the waiter brought our adult drinks and the appetizers and then took our meal order, my wife ordered the Roasted beet salad with goat cheese and I ordered the Scallops with the roasted potatoes, with corn and bacon cream sauce. Called to see their hours and they said they closed in 35 min. I hated to be the last table but was really in a bind for good food and new to the area and being from the west coast (time change) I was starving. The meals were all in excess of what we were expecting in terms of taste, texture, seasoning, consistency, temperature, and overall awesomeness. Delicious and quaint find a few steps away from the busy downtown Ogunquit. My boyfriend and I had a reservation but we noticed that walk-ins were still possible. We were sat on the restaurant's patio, and our server Kenroy was very friendly and set a good vibe for our dinner. We started with some Maine oysters and some calamari, which were fine. I also had a white sangria which was very refreshing and went very well with our fish-based dishes. The star of the show was the spaghettoni with clams. They had a slight kick, so just be aware of that if you're sensitive to spice. Otherwise, the saltiness of the clams were perfectly balanced by a light garlic, wine and parmesan sauce.
