Started with apps, my octopus was very tender and delicious albeit a tad pricey for the portion $26. The mushroom pasta I found a tad bland. For the price of $31 it was a smidge disappointing. The item that will make me come back was their lemon cream cake. I could have had the app and the cake and been a happy girl. This place charges fine dining prices for a very casual atmosphere. My friend got the duck- she wasn't asked how to have it cooked. It came out well- not for me but she was fine with it. No lie, I'm not one to order the same dish over and over again, but I am going back to The Front Yard just to have the mushroom truffle pasta once more. We love Ogunquit, but it can be a tricky spot for dinners. I guess that's the price of being a postcard-perfect coastal town in Maine? So when we find a place like The Front Yard, you'll hear us raving about it for a while. We made reservations based on other reviews, and since we were doing an Ogunquit staycation, it just made sense. So glad I listened to those five-star reviewers; we absolutely loved it. We were lucky to grab a patio table (not gonna lie, I don't know if I would've loved it quite as much without the al fresco vibe), and it was the perfect summer (spring?) dinner. We ordered a bottle of Riesling -- they have an extensive wine list, with some affordable options -- and it paired perfectly with our meal. For apps, we went with the burrata and squash dish and the fried calamari. Both were good, though the burrata could've used a bit more flavor. Definitely not the best I've had, but the entrées more than made up for it. My husband's pesto pistachio pasta, topped with burrata, was excellent, and like I said... I'm still dreaming about my mushroom pasta. Our server was super attentive, even though the place was a little busy. We really appreciated that. We were in town on vacation. Having a 21 month old makes it very difficult to find a place to eat, especially a place that is nice. We finally decided to make last minute reservations and I am so glad we did! The food was absolutely delicious. I got the SASSY TRUFFLE MUSHROOM PASTA. It had a little spiciness to it, not too much truffle and just the right amount of flavor. I read reviews stating it was flavorless, it definitely was not! My husband had the SEAFOOD RISOTTO ALLA MILANESE and said it was his best meal in Ogunquit. My son loved the kids pizza, he ate almost all of it, which is unusual for him. I did get one of their special mixed drinks, it was a little too sweet for me. If you don't like sweet drinks, stick to wine or beer. We ate outside on the de k which is covered so you won't get rained on. The place is casual, but not fast food or bar casual. Best of all they have on site parking! We had an enjoyable dinner at The Front Yard. Surprisingly busy for a Sunday night, but it is high season. Be sure you have a reservation. There are a variety of different seating areas, and we had a nice table indoors (thankfully as it has been unusually hot this summer). Our waitress was very pleasant and we were off to a good start with delicious cocktails, and complementary bread service. We were a party of four, and all enjoyed our appetizers and dinners. I had the seafood risotto which was very tasty and had a generous portion of seafood. I also thought fairly priced. If I had to find fault, it was just a tad salty for my taste, but I think this is just me as I seem to be sensitive to saltiness. Pasta dishes and scallops all received positive remarks. Plates were beautifully presented. The restaurant aims for a casual environment, which they achieve but there are a few simple misses on service which detract from the experience. We had silverware cleared, but never replaced and then plates are served with no way to enjoy the food. It took quite a bit of time for silverware to be brought, and food begins to cool. Another course, food was presented but the prior course was not cleared. Again, we were all pleased with our food, service good overall and I think we would return if the opportunity presents when visiting Ogunquit. read more

I ordered the Duck Margaret and Pistachio pasta with burrata. I loved the farro that came with the duck it was delicious!! I think it was my favorite part. I'd ordered that again if it was a side. The duck was cooked nicely and tasted fine, nothing special. The pistachio pasta smelled really good, but I didn't feel the taste was anywhere near as good. I added salt and it still needed something. It was very busy inside and outside. The hostess was very nice and said it would be a half hour and it was about that. We got the mussels, mushroom and Gorgonzola flatbread, and saffron seafood risotto. When I say it was the best meal I've had in a long time- everything was cooked perfectly. My 3 kids and I walked here from our hotel room on Thursday night, 8/14. We were very hungry! The hostess told us that we needed reservations, but not for the patio out front. It was beautiful there, so we said ok, "great we will sit out there." She reluctantly gave us a couple of menus. We waited and waited....10 min later no one came to greet us or offer any drinks...nada!!!! I told my kids that we would go to the next place...I walked up to the hostess, who was chatting with a server, and said "what happened? No one came to say hi or acknowledge us!" She snickered and had NO RESPONSE!!!! The waiter asked me where we were sitting so I pointed to outside, and he apologized, but she wouldn't even look at me! She snickered again. I seriously think we were discriminated against because we were a party with 3 kids and were not wearing fancy clothes and shoes! My wife has a severe food allergy to pepper. We were assured by the waiter that the kitchen was informed of the allergy. We were served lamb with red pepper, nearly causing an allergic reaction. Food is always delicious. We usually sit at the bushfire bar or inside depending on weather. Bartenders and servers are all very friendly.

One of these days we'll eat on the patio or in the dining room or at the indoor bar but in the summer it's all about that outdoor bar and the wonderful service from Miloc, Natalia and crew. Had such a great dinner at The Front Yard yesterday! My parents and I loved sitting out on the beautiful patio and the service was efficient and kind. I ordered the seafood risotto, which was fantastic. My parents both enjoyed their meals, the Australian lamb shanks and the pear salad with salmon. Loved this restuarant and its atmosphere. The owner and waitress were all very nice. The restuarant has a open air feel about it. We went there for something light to eat. My husband had the seafood chowder which was absolutely delicious. I had a House Salad with the tart pear vinaigrette that was also delicious. What a great location to hang with friends or even with a special someone. Located just off the center of town, you can easily access TFY with on site parking and a love bus stop so no excuse. Great atmosphere to hang at the bar, patio and grass seating it available. Plus indoor and great outdoor seating is available. You can't go wrong. This used to be our favorite restaurant. Imagine our feelings when we took our favorite priest out for a farewell dinner on Friday night. We called and made a reservation for three people at 6 pm on Friday 9/20. It was a cool rainy night. When we arrived, we were immediately seated at a table for four. We had an excellent waitress. We had no more than finished our meal, when a different waitress came and told us that we would have to move outside since we had been at our table for 1-1/2 hours, and they had a large party waited to be seated at three tables pushed together. It was 7:27 pm (not even 1-1/2 hours). We had not been told when we made the reservation, nor were we advised by our original waitress that there was a time limit on our table. It was apparent that we had no choice in the matter. Fortunately our waitress came, apologized, and showed us to another table inside. Many table near us were there when we arrived and were not asked to move. We were given gratuitous desserts, after-dinner drinks, and coffee. This was a generous attempt to satisfy us. No manager or supervisor ever came to apologize. This whole experience left us uncomfortable to return. read more

The outside was empty other than 2 tables but they made us eat inside. We only went because of the outdoor seating, so that wasn't a great start.
