Loved this restuarant and its atmosphere. The owner and waitress were all very nice. The restuarant has a open air feel about it. We went there for something light to eat. My husband had the seafood chowder which was absolutely delicious. I had a House Salad with the tart pear vinaigrette that was also delicious. I saw 2 other meals that were being served and they looked and smelled really good too. If Im back in the area I will definitely be coming back here to eat a bigger meal. read more

What a great location to hang with friends or even with a special someone. Located just off the center of town, you can easily access TFY with on site parking and a love bus stop so no excuse. Great atmosphere to hang at the bar, patio and grass seating it available. Plus indoor and great outdoor seating is available. You can't go wrong. Out front you can play lawn games while watching people walk by and stay until the sun sets. Or enjoy a fire by the table and enjoy your friend time. This was our first visit to the Fron Yard after seeing it our past few times in Ogunquit, and it was so good, we went back the next night. This used to be our favorite restaurant. Imagine our feelings when we took our favorite priest out for a farewell dinner on Friday night. We called and made a reservation for three people at 6 pm on Friday 9/20. It was a cool rainy night. When we arrived, we were immediately seated at a table for four. We had an excellent waitress. We had no more than finished our meal, when a different waitress came and told us that we would have to move outside since we had been at our table for 1-1/2 hours, and they had a large party waited to be seated at three tables pushed together. It was 7:27 pm (not even 1-1/2 hours). We had not been told when we made the reservation, nor were we advised by our original waitress that there was a time limit on our table. It was apparent that we had no choice in the matter. Fortunately our waitress came, apologized, and showed us to another table inside. Many table near us were there when we arrived and were not asked to move. We were given gratuitous desserts, after-dinner drinks, and coffee. This was a generous attempt to satisfy us. No manager or supervisor ever came to apologize. This whole experience left us uncomfortable to return. read more

It's a bit expensive for the food. I think people may come for the outdoor ambiance, like the bar and outdoor tables and cornhole. The outside was empty other than 2 tables but they made us eat inside. We only went because of the outdoor seating, so that wasn't a great start. The main attraction here is the space. Just a beautiful outdoor space and "front yard". The service was very good as well. Our server patiently answered all our questions, was friendly and attentive. Our drinks were all very good, a mix of mock tails, a cocktail and a few local beers. The entire table enjoyed the house bread, which was a nice focaccia. We split a Caesar salad that everyone enjoyed. Our entrees included surf & turf, pesto pasta, kids pasta, hamburgers, and the bouillabaisse. The table didn't enjoy the pasta dishes. The steak was good, but the lobster tail didn't live up to being in Maine. The rest of the table liked their entrees. Despite the high points, the food to value ratio wasn't quite there. Gazpacho shouldn't taste like cocktail sauce. Most overcooked shellfish I have ever had--despite telling the server upfront that we were sensitive to overcooked fish. Overcooked and dry salmon. So disappointed this time... Bugs flying everywhere...little tiny black bugs landing on us and the table all during our time...waiter and hostess said never before tonight...well they were bad. Really bad. Ordered the bouillabaisse and the picture is beautiful...but it was all pasta... it looked beautiful but there were no scallops as the menu said...a barely legal half lobster tail, it was about 4 inches...4 mussels and 2 clams. $42. We are from New England and this was absolutely geared towards the tourists that come here and don't know any better. Being attacked by small black bugs all dinner was quite annoying. We drove in from CT. Me and my buddy fish on my boat 3+days a week. We know our seafood, and we get dining out is older seafood than we catch and cook same day. The mussel app had old/spoiled mussels that gave me and my buddy's girlfriend instant temple headache. My buddy who also ate the mussels had his stomach flipping after we left. My $49 Seafood Boulabaise was impressive but the 1/2 lobster tail was soooo old and decayed biting into it sent pure ammonia up my nostrils....disgusting. My vegan girlfriend was the only 1 of the 4 of us unscathed from the SLOPPY, LAZY & ETHICALLY decrepit "chef". Went last night for the first time even though we've driven by a hundred times. A mistake to have waited this long. Opened with calamari. Very light, not greasy, comes with peppers that are tasty vs overpowering. Definitely recommend. Had the duck as an entree. Also recommend. Perfectly prepared, fruity, with nice sides to balance. We shared the arugula and pear salad which was simple and delicious. The pear vinaigrette was so light and refreshing. Even though service was a bit slow and prices high it was a fun and friendly place for a family of 8 to enjoy a birthday celebration. It was a milestone birthday, made very obvious by me telling a few weeks ahead to restaurant and the obvious tiara and sash my daughter was wearing , not even a mention was made by any staff Happy Birthday. This may sound silly to some but our family, because we are all over the country only get together once or twice a year so this night was extra special. After speaking to hostess our waiter gave my daughter a free shot and thank you for that. Duke our waiter was great but again slow but that is never fault of waiter. Perhaps a little under staffed. This place is slightly confusing, and I will tell you why. It's referred to as a Mediterranean restaurant but it's definitely not. Our selections were fancy - like duck and two steak entrees over $26 - but the ambience didn't exactly feel like such. I understand that this is COVID and only outdoor dining is available right now, but I still sort of felt like I was at a backyard party once I left the patio where the bar was and walked on the grass to my table. I'm not saying I dressed like I was supposed to be at a fancy restaurant bc I wasn't I was in sweats, but I also think that I must have forecasted this place would be a 3 and didn't deserve my couture upon landing on the Yelp page. The food was really average I have to be honest. Steak tips were good but how could they be bad? black risotto was good but how could it be bad it probably just had a ton of oil and garlic - although we did appreciate how much calamari was involved. Patrick ordered espresso martinis and vodka sauce which I don't recommend for anyone, and the waiter didn't even bat an eyelash. Like maybe just say, dude that's probably not the best combination. I actually love it when waiters do that- it's kind. The wine was average, the drinks were average, the mozzarella and tomatoes = average. The sauce the octopus was in was actually very good but when I was given a piece of the octopus app I only enjoyed the sauce on a piece of potato that accompanied it - I would say slather that sauce on the 'pus too, because it was just simply grilled underneath. Also, I have to say that the LOOK of the focaccia bread excited me, but the taste disappointed me, and I hate when that happens. If I'm biting into a piece of bread after a 5 hour long car ride with future husband *eye roll* I want some damn good bread. This bread LOOKED like it would be good enough that you wouldn't even have to dip it in oil or butter (which wasn't an option anyway since it didn't come with any), but it definitely NEEDED oil or butter. Service was good but the food was awful. Overcooked pasta and rice. Pesto was just basil with garlic and tomatoes, no pistachio flavor, with a burrata tossed over it. Pretty setting, not so pretty at its heart! On July 25, this place screwed up our reservation, then seemed to deliberately keep a group of 4 adults and 4 children waiting needlessly. We had an outdoor reservation but ended up having to sit inside. Meanwhile, I saw empty space outside. After 20 minutes, one of us had to track down the general manager to get service. No water, bread, etc. We were never offered an apology or comped dessert . The food was pretty good but the portions were small and many items were quite over-priced. The service and lack of care still left a bad taste in my mouth. The kitchen was slow, but the waitress relaxed and turned out to be lovely. She told us they never feed the staff. Went for dinner at 5:30pm tonight - extremely rude Hostess almost kept us from having an amazing dining experience. We sat in the bar area and had a table. We were waited on immediately by a wonderful waitress and an attentive bartender. Husband had the seafood boulabaise and a Cesar salad - he said both were in the "best he ever had" category. I had the garden salad- wonderful homemade blue cheese dressing , yum & a tasty flat bread. We were extremely impressed with the amazing customer service provided by our servers- it was almost like they anticipated our every need- refilling drinks as we sat down our empty glasses This extraordinary restaraunt does need to consider this; Your hostess is your face presented to your customers. The Front Yard a variety of items to appeal to most people. On this visit we had a seven year old with us so we were sure to confirm a kids menu which they have. The service was pleasant and patient with us as we were a large group there to enjoy a night out. She stayed on top of drink orders and moving courses on and off the table at the right moments. It was nice have an experienced wait staff member who was there to be sure we were well taken care of. The atmosphere is very casual and geared towards families. The food overall based on the menu would appear to be higher end Mediterranean food with some simpler items on the menu. The food is not as refined as I would have expected, but on the other side of that comment I don't have major disagreements with the food. It was tasty and the portions were large. The Charcuterie Board was large with meats and cheeses. The fresh fruit was items like watermelon, cantaloupe and strawberries weren't all that sophisticated to round out this board. It would have been nice to have Mediterranean olives or some type of spread like hummus and pita bread. Nothing wrong with what it was -- everything was fresh and tasty, just lacked a little sophistication. The seven year old was more than happy with the watermelon and strawberries so that kept him occupied for a while. The Caesar salad was fresh and was a good size to even be shared with two people. The homemade garlic croutons were great! For my entree, I got the Front Yard Bouillabaisse which was nicely packed with shrimp, scallops, mussels, clams, half a Maine lobster tail, salmon and homemade papparadelle pasta. The tomato fish broth was nice and all the seafood was fresh. The salmon was a little unappealing with a soggy skin. The pasta was delicious but there was more than any human could eat in one sitting. I opted to focus on eating every bit of the seafood which was great and let most of the pasta go back to the kitchen. A little refinement on this dish could make it spectacular. The jumbo scallops in the shell were truly jumbo scallops that were impressive. Others at the table got the NY strip as well as the filet and lobster tail special which they said was very good. Our little seven year old got spaghetti and meatballs which also looked like homemade pasta. Other than needing a little extra sauce which the server brought it was a large portion for a kids menu size. There was extra to bring home. The dessert of choice by a couple people was a huge piece of chocolate cake which they said was perfectly indulgent. Overall, the menu items and prices might lead you to believe this is a slightly more sophisticated restaurant than it is, but I would say it is a good family restaurant and seemed to be plenty busy with many visitors to the area. read more
