This was our first visit on a Saturday evening and we were glad we made reservations as it was packed yet still maintained a great atmosphere. Our male server Burak was very attentive, professional, and very friendly. We ordered the Lavash with the mixed appetizer - tabouli, Mediterranean salsa, hummus, and Haydari. Chicken and Beef Kabobs as our entrees. Their signature cocktail Istanbul Peach Martini and a glass of Autorotas Sauvignon Blanc. As always the Lavash was amazing as was the Kabobs. This is the second time I've been to Anatolia. Personally, I love Mediterranean. I took my mom and sister there. I wanted them to experience and enjoy lavash bread. They got the beef kabob and shrimp sauté. All excellent. I preferred the pistachio baklava. The Turkish cookies were tasty - a bit too sweet for me. It is in the old train station on the border of Maine and NH. The lighting is comfy and staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Rating: 4.5 On the way to the White mountain, we decided to stop by for dinner since I saw that their reviews were stellar. Just in case we made a reservation as it was recommended on the website. It's an authentic Mediterranean restaurant located in Somersworth, NH. The restaurant is slightly hidden as its located on lower floor of a building what it looks like to be an old train station. Inside is cozy with dark dim lights, relaxing instrumental music and decorations of train signs. We ended up arriving very early but they were able to accommodate us. We got hot turkish tea, lavash bread, mixed appetizer plate with babagannush, haydari, hammus, tabouli, and adana kebab. My partner got the chicken shish kebab. Hot turkish tea came with very fancy tray and cup. Tea was earthy and smoky. Lavash bread is huge steaming bread with crusty outside and chew soft inside. The bread paired perfectly with the mixed appetizer plate. I personally liked haydari the best. It reminded of cream cheese a bit as it was based on yogurt. The adana kebab was excellent. It came with perfectly grilled spiced lamb, rice, salad and mashed potatoes. Tender flavorful lamb paired well with rice and mashed potatoes. Salad was ok but good addition to balance the meal. Service was excellent and our server was very attentive and kept offering refills for our Turkish tea freshly made every time. Overall the place was great and such a hidden gem. Food is great, price is reasonable, and service is excellent. It was one of the best restaurant that we had tried while visiting NH. Apparently the earlier reservation canceled, so it was a luck~ seems like it's mostly a place with many reservations. This restaurant is in the back, down some stairs. An old train stop with many older signs and right by an old track (unsure if trains still pass by). Ordered hot Turkish tea as drinks. Warm and brewed consistently. Great pallets cleansers. Got the appetizer platter that comes with 4 samples or your choice. This was a master piece! Comes in bowl all inflated and got and water bigger then you'd expect. It was such an amazing sight. This could've been a meal and I'd leave full. The hummus selection was the best dip. The bread has a crispy outer layer, chewy soft center, and a mix of both on the edges. Super authentic Turkish spot Anatolia in Somersworth, NH, came highly recommended by a foodie group I'm in -- & I'm so glad I went! The menu & photos immediately caught my eye, & since I was in Maine for the weekend, I made the trip. Tucked behind a building near the train tracks, this hidden gem had the perfect ambiance. Yagmur behind the bar took great care of me and offered some amazing suggestions. If there was a sixth star - this place deserves it! From the moment you walk in you feel special. Our party of 7 had the most amazing time here tonight. The service was spectacular, the drinks were on point, there is a full bar with an extremely knowledgeable and talented bartender/waiter extraordinaire named Casey! He reviewed all of the delicious appetizer choices with us, ensuring we took note of the hot and cold and proudly informed us of his favorite entrees. When the meals came, our jaws dropped. They were out of this world incredible - packed with flavor and authenticity. We were so delighted we all kept saying we would be back. What a brilliant experience - must visit for us whenever we're near Dover. Sleepy side of town with a hidden Turkish restaurant that's one of the best we've been too. The size of the Lavash is beyond words and when combined with hummus is enough for main course. Kebabs were tasty, fresh and well seasoned with a large enough portion to bring home. The smoked paprika mashed potatoes will want you asking for me. Save room for the baklava and Turkish chai - each reminds us of being in Turkey. Great venue which feels very authentic and large enough for a good sized event. Service was top notch and were very attentive. My only regret is not being able to stay for the belly dancer. Perfect ambiance in an old rail depot! Decor matched the building use. Tracks outside are still active (5pm train). Food lived up to other reviews. I had the mummies and lavash with falafel. All three were delicious!! The hummus perfectly creamy and flavorful, the falafel crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside. At both with the lavash! Just loved our romantic date at Anatolia. It's a smaller place so I suggest a reservation. But as you walk in the stone on the side of the buildings in an old train station is so unique. What an incredible place! We've been before, but decided to come on a Thursday for the belly dancing. It was definitely a fun experience. First we had the Hummus (a must try), then followed it with the Portobello Mushroom appetizer and it was delicious. I tried the Lamb Stuffed Eggplant and I've officially found my new favorite dish! It's been a long time since I've been to a restaurant that truly wowed me. Anatolia is a gem! My friend took me here for a belated birthday lunch. I loved that the owners kept memorabilia from the train station. The food is just amazing! My friend and I devoured the Mixed Appetizer Platter with lavash bread. I really enjoyed the Istanbul Tabouli (as a person who usually can't stand the Greek version) and Mediterranean Salsa. We shared a Lahmacun entree, which was spectacularly flavored. Best Mediterranean/Turkish food I've ever had, easily. I'm kicking myself for only discovering this place today! Pide - Turkish flatbread with cheese and spinach and a side salad. Sensational and lighter version of a pizza. Falafel with yogurt dip - freshly cooked, creamy and light. Refreshing and addictive! We were there on a Momday night and I don't know if they get their delivery for the week on Tuesdays but they were out of 3 of their draft beers (think they have 6 to choose from) and I go all excited to have a Turkish coffee (have literally not had one for 30 years!) but they were out of that too! So all these missing menu items is really what brings it down to 4/5. We all shared starters - admit I forget the names - huge!! flatbread with some side dishes and I had lamb sishkebab for main. We had the fortune of having NH friends bring us take out from Anatolias. My friend Renee got the lamb stuffed eggplant and I had a bite. I have thought about that bite for the 3 months since I had it. Finally, for my birthday, we went there and 3 of the 4 of us ordered the lamb stuffed eggplant. Atmosphere is so nice. It is in an old train depot, lots of brick, lots of smells of yummy food. So good. Warm, cozy yet very special without having to be dressy. It is a place for nice meals. Also, they let us have our table for 3 hours which was great. So great. All 3 of us are not big meat eaters. It is such unique flavors that really everyone needs to try it. Even non-lamb eaters. It is accompanied by rice. Something about the rice is different. I believe there is cumin in there, but they must also cook it in broth rather than water; it is almost halfway to a risotto, very creamy and yummy. I opted for the salad instead of the rice, but then regretted it. We started with the lavash which is amazing. Must get that with at least one dip. We got hummus and it was so good. The salad is pretty great. Merely cukes, tomatoes, onions, in a light oil, with spices and lots of parsley. Yum. We got pistachio baklava for dessert. 4 pieces for 4 people. They are tiny pieces, just a couple of bites and so good. Sweet, so you really don't need more than that. Wait staff is excellent, knowledgeable and passionate about the food. We had Casey who was just wonderful. Not too much, not too little and his dimples were just adorable. He was an expert on the food and ingredients. What he didn't know he asked and returned with answers. They are so lucky to have him. We would ask for his table next time. I have dined at Anatolia five times now and have yet to be disappointed. This evening we had the chicken kabobs - delicious. I've also had the lamb kabobs... tough choice...both are incredible dishes. The special this evening was shaved beef over rice. Wow! This needs to be a normal menu item, I'd get it all the time...so good! As for the appetizers, you can't go to this place without trying that bread of theirs, Lavash bread, with the Baba Ghanoush. Anatolia is one of the best restaurants in town, no doubt. The hummus and baba ghanoush with their fresh lavash is so good I could happily eat it every day without getting bored. I am also a big fan of their chicken and lamb kebabs. The Turkish wine they offer (particularly the reds) pair beautifully with their meals. Mimet (I'm sorry if I'm not spelling his name correctly) is our server almost every time we go and he is so sweet and knowledgeable! My partner and I go here for our date nights because aside from mind blowingly good food, the atmosphere is so cozy. They are located in the bottom floor of an old train station (like very old) and the place is decorated with lots of historical train pieces/signs with warm tone low lighting. 10/10 always recommend this place to anyone who will listen read more

We had dinner there a few nights ago. We had different appetizers and they were all delicious. However, the menu said tender, lamb kebabs. It was a very generous portion of lamb. However, the chunks were so tough. It was difficult to eat them. We ended bringing most of them home and then throwing them out. I had the lamb stuffed eggplant I guess when I read stuffed eggplant I thought it was exactly that. I didn't expect a paper thin slice of eggplant with ground lamb piled on top of it. It was disappointing. The ambience was very nice. The entire staff could not have been more efficient and polite.We said we will certainly go back but only for appetizers. read more

This is a true hidden gem - our experience was 100 A+!! The restaurant is hard to find - look for Gravy on Main St. and the restaurant is behind it right along the train tracks. You need to walk down the steep driveway. The owner Ali is delightful and very accommodating. The crispy phyllo cheese rolls are sensational. They are an interesting take on mozzarella sticks but much better. You must try the Lavash bread (which is served puffed up) with the Haydari (yogurt sauce). As much as I love lamb, I thought the Chicken Shish Kebob was awesome!! The lamb is nicely seasoned and even my partner, who doesn't like lamb, said it was excellent! The baklava is one of the best ever. Most people order the pistachio but I would suggest getting the walnut, you can't go wrong. We are very fortunate to have this level of quality in our small part of the country. Sampled a bit of everyone's dishes and all of it just melted in mouth exploding with different flavors. Only down thing was we ordered second rounds of drinks and they we sold out of them. My wife has been wanting to try Anatolia for two or three years. We finally made it here tonight. They did not disappoint. First, the atmosphere is fantastic. The old stone foundation walls are great and just a beautiful rustic atmosphere with middle eastern music. The food was amazing. For appetizers we had kibbe (the best either of us have ever had). Also the lavash bread was incredible and we added baba g. Also awesome. The main course was lamb shish kebab and it was the most tender lamb I've ever had.
