Do not go here! Everything was priced higher than it was on the menu, I spent $27 for a salad & water bottle (they don't have water cups and make you pay $4). I got a Greek salad with chicken, the chicken was dry and cold and not even seasoned. The lettuce was very clearly straight from a bag and not cut - huge pieces. They didn't toss the salad at all. Mediocre food. I called to place a pickup order for a sandwich at 12:30pm on a Tuesday and they were out of the one thing I wanted - both kinds of their chicken salad. I went in to see what else they had and they were out of a lot of the veggies for sandwiches too. This was on June 25th - a busy summer day. Finally settled on tuna sub - it was just OK. $11 for it and it was only with lettuce and tomato. I wish this place was more gourmet (can certainly charge more!) or had a fun point of view. Tuna salad out of a can with mayo and tomatoes and lettuce is not that special. Places that look cute - THIS place looks cute - cute branding and fun little interior - need to have something that make it stand out. I could have gotten a tuna sub at the grocer down the street. DISAPPOINTED. Concisely & nicely summarizes my last meal here. I came a few times last summer and recall it was good. THIS year (2025) nothing was fresh. The soggy shapeless tomatoes looked like they were prepped several days ago, the 2 slices of skinny turkey looks like low end deli loaf , the few leaves of lettuce are appliance white iceberg & the onion bits were so few I think I could count them. The icing on this exceptionally underperforming lunch was my request for ice on the side of my $4 drink. Apparently they only portion control a 1/2 glass. So ice on the side means 1/2 glass of the drink!!! In 50 years of ice on the side, I've NEVER been served only a half full / half EMPTY glass. I hesitate to write negative reviews, but after reading other reviews, I felt I actually had to add my experience to yelp. One noted that they were so appalled that they did a deep dive into town records! Apparently they cannot legally prepare food on site!! Mind boggling, ha. Which explains why the sandwich does not seem fresh - AT ALL. oh well, last lunch here. read more

Got sandwiches here twice during my weekend stay, both times for lunch! They were so delicious, I got the Italian both times on GF bread. The gf roll looked and held together just as well as regular sandwich roll bread. The flavors from the meats & vegetables combined with the olive oil was exceptional. read more

I was so excited to try this place. I got a pasta salad that was so mushy. I thought about going back and getting something and didn't. I should have! I spent the rest of the afternoon and evening in bed with food poisoning. Not a great experience. I would not recommend BB when there are so many other places that have such delicious food. I was so excited to try this place but I was quickly disappointed my the presentation of my food. The sandwiches our on the expensive side, so when I get my food I expect it not to be a mess. I ordered a tuna wrap which was so soggy and leaking Mayo everywhere. It had absolutely no flavor. My husband got a Buffalo chicken panini and he enjoyed his. My daughter got a grilled cheese and it was ok, nothing special. So I spent $35 for a soggy tuna wrap, a Buffalo chicken panini, a grilled cheese and a 1/2 and 1/2 lemonade. This place is everything you'd want from a beach lunch spot! The fresh squeezed lemonade is super tart in the perfect way. The apple & Brie grilled cheese is decadent without being too heavy. Service was quick and friendly. Cute seating area in the back. Anticipated a long line in a summer Saturday at lunch, but lucked out. Would gladly come back! read more

We like Beach Basket a lot, but it's very expensive just for lunch. I had a Cobb salad and a blueberry lemonade - both super fresh & yummy, and my husband enjoyed his Italian sub. "Oh my gosh we smelt that too!" - employee I decided to try the new breakfast spot this morning and I wish so badly that I had not. I ordered a bacon egg and cheese sandwich. I thought it was a little pricey at $6.75 but I thought maybe this will be a great sandwich. Well, that could not be further from reality. I took a bite and thought something was off about this. It wreaked of nail polish remover. I had my girlfriend smell it and she said the same thing. An employee came over to ask us how our food was and I told her about the poisonous smell and her response was "oh my gosh we smelt that too." So my thought is why the heck did you serve it to me? She went to make me a new one but I told them do not bother. I then asked to get my money back for the sandwich. The employee then tried to shove the ziplock back where they keep the English muffins in my face to confirm that's where the smell came from. I know your food is poison, I don't need to smell your bag to confirm that. I did get reimbursed for the sandwich but they made no offer of reimbursing our entire order. I will never return here and I encourage you to not give this place a chance. read more

The Kale and Brussels Sprouts Salad with Shrimp was delicious! It was really nice to get something healthy amid all the fried food in the area and all the options looked great. The only downside was the price compared to the size - the "large" salad was about half the size of what I'd consider to be a regular salad like Sweetgreen, and two of them with Shrimp ended up being over $42. But, I understand that ingredients like this come at a premium. read more

We got lunch from the beach basket twice during our stay in Ogunquit. Both times, it was great food and ready quickly. Shout-out to the very efficient and friendly staff! We tried the mozzarella and pesto grilled cheese, apple and brie grilled cheese, peanut noodle salad, and a hot turkey sandwich. All of these were terrific. Amazing little spot to grab portable beach food to go (although they do have a small dining room as well). Their salads are my favorite, for sure (try the shaved Brussels + kale). So fresh and loaded with amazing flavors. I feel like I can eat like a glutton without the immediate post meal guilt. So I've attempted to try and like this joint, but couldn't. I stopped in last season where it's new to the beach. The interior is quaint and newly updated. That's where the positives end. The menu, Facebook, and the website tout's fresh food. It's wrong. When I was there last season, I saw a teenage looking girl carrying a bag of frozen meatballs into the dining/area. She was quickly reprimanded and retreated behind a closed door. This year, I saw the new breakfast offerings and figured I'd give it another shot. Well, the breakfast sandwich looked and tasted if they'd purchased it a local fast food joint, threw away the waxy wrapper, and doubled the price to resell it. Deciding that the lack of freshness must be a mistake, I did some research and found out from the Town's planning board meeting, that nothing (I repeat nothing) is made on site. The Board's minutes quote the owner(?) as saying "Nothing will be cooked on site; food will be prepared off premises." I am so excited that this place opened in Ogunquit! It's the perfect place to grab breakfast or lunch on the way to the beach. However, their food fuels me year round. Their homemade soups saved me on the bitter cold days in the winter earlier this year. My personal favorite is their buffalo chicken soup. Their subs are great. My in-laws think their tuna salad is the best in town. I always seem to gravitate to the salads. There are so many to pick from that I don't usually know where to start. Their baked goodies look delicious too but I never have room to try any... there's always next time! Beach Basket is a great new addition to the town. Their twist on salads, subs and soups makes it unique. read more

My husband and I had lunch here and came back the next morning for breakfast. The lunch salad (we both had kale) was perfect: kale, fruit and nuts with a little Parma. Breakfast was perfect too: I had oatmeal with four toppings, and he had a breakfast sandwich on an English muffin. The place is spotless and the staff is friendly and helpful. The music track is cheery and upbeat, but not too loud. You could even bring your newspaper cause there's plenty of natural light and it would be a great place to read it. This is a cute little spot that has been perfect for breakfast and lunch during our Ogunquit trip. We came upon it because it is right near our AirBnB, and we were really impressed by the breakfast sandwiches. This place says it serves breakfast all day, but breakfast only includes breakfast sandwiches. We got grilled cheese and clam chowder. Clam Chowder serving was pretty small. Blueberry lemonade was way too tart. Meal cost over $40. I felt bad not including a tip, but the only serving they do is to bring your food to your table after you order at the counter and I felt the cost was pretty hefty. The people who worked at the counter were so unbelievably rude. From the moment we ordered it was as though they were angry they had to serve customers. One worker chided a member of our party for standing near the counter (no joke ) and the other said she was too busy to pour coffee which was literally her job. read more

We had lunch at Beach Basket and it was all very good. They have lots of healthy salads, sandwiches, and soups. We enjoyed a turkey blt, ham wrap (gluten free), several salads, and a cookie. I had the turkey sandwich and it was amazing. Everything tastes fresh and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The only problem was that it is sort of hard to find because it says it's on shore road but really it's off of shore road right next to Bangor savings. Totally not the workers fault and we're very helpful when I had to call and ask for directions. The food is fairly priced and the place is in a great location. Totally would recommend to anyone who wants a quick lunch spot. read more
