I only ever write reviews few and far between. Came here on a day off work to enjoy myself. Drink... incredible. Not weak not too harsh did the job 10/10. Got the lobster rangoons.. immaculate and got an order to go because they were so good. Lobster roll and truffle fries - lobster roll had to be one of the best I have ever gotten and I grew up in New England and have seem many lobster rolls so great job! This place is pretty run of the mill mediocre with a great proximity to Ogunquit Beach. The food itself was something you could get anywhere except probably for less. The seafood was below average but I enjoyed their fried fish options. Oysters were full of shards and I've had way better pretty much everywhere else. Service is decent, but maybe below average for the amount of workers they had on the floor in comparison to the amount of people that were actually dining. It's also a bit ridiculous that they haven't fixed their menu issue. There's going to be wind at the beach, maybe find a way to not have menus fly out into the ocean pretty much every 5 minutes? The menus are also laminated, so they just sit there to not rot and instead pollute the area. I suggest having some sort of hole puncher and a binder ring to give it weight and perhaps anchor it to something because the issue is getting out of hand. Not the best way to have a beach-side restaurant. read more

We stopped here for lunch on a whim after the beach around early dinner time and were seated after about 15 minutes on the outdoor deck overlooking the river. We started with the freshly shucked oysters, which were incredibly fresh and delicious, along with the mussels in a creamy wine sauce that were absolutely phenomenal. We also had the caprese salad and split the scallop dinner with mashed potatoes and broccolini. The scallops were fresh, but they were the only thing that could've used a little more flavor. The appetizers were very generous portions, and overall we left really happy with the food. The service was friendly. It slowed down a bit toward the end, but it seemed like our waitress just got busy, so no fault of hers. Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely come back. read more

This has been my go-to place for lobster rolls for many years. Although the website gives you the choice to join their waitlist, there is a handwritten note when you arrive that says that they don't take reservations. So I generally check their hours of operation and drive there for dinner. Unfortunately in the spring we were turned away although we arrived over 1 hour before they closed as they said they were short- staffed and the kitchen was closing soon. We found a different place to eat and since we parked at the public lot across the street, we found that they were still open and had many customers an hour past their closing time. This time we decided to arrive extra early to avoid the previous situation. It was a sunny warm day but we were informed that the upstairs deck was closed because they were short staffed. We were looking forward to outside dining but the first floor deck is small and all the diners appeared to be having drinks. We choose first available which ended up being inside. When we first sat down, the couple sitting next to us wished us good luck getting our meals in the near future. Apparently all the others customers around arrived after them and they were almost finished with their meals and theirs hadn't arrived. A server offered them a compensatory drink for their inconvenience. One accepted and the other told them that she was done drinking for the day. When their bill arrived, the second customer asked if her drink could be comped. Her request was declined because they said that it would have been applied to the second drink and not to the first. As for our dinner, we went for the colossal lobster roll - hot with butter. We prefer the roll on the side to avoid it getting soggy. The regular lobster roll is currently priced at $35 with 1/4 lbs of meat. The colossal is $45 with 1/2 lbs of lobster meat. Our lobster meat was overcooked as it was slightly rubbery. That's not the quality we have gotten used to from years of visiting this restaurant. They may have had an off day as they were understaffed. read more

The location is right off the water with huge windows that brings in a lot of light. The interior is beach themed and the staff were quick to get us seated. There's public paid parking across the street. Got the hot with butter lobster roll that was very fresh and satisfying. For the price, I would have expected slightly more lobster, but if you're hungry, get the colossal. The fries were equally great and the coleslaw was refreshing. read more

We came off season in the last week of October. I was not expecting it to be so sophisticated and beautiful inside. It has a beautiful view of the water. Loved the seats they had. The lobster bisque, the best I ever had, now I am spoiled and no other place compare to it. I order the lobster roll (buttered). I was good, they gave a good amount of lobster. But the butter made the roll soggy and mushy. A little too much butter. My son had the salmon sandwich. He rarely tries something new, he ate it all and loved it. It was a really big portion! This location is right off the water with enormous windows for an amazing views of the water. The restaurant is very clean with warm modern contemporary nautical decor. The food was excellent, fresh and full of flavor. We had clam chowder, scallops with bacon and lobster rolls. Amy, our waitress, was incredibly attentive and made sure we had everything we needed without ever hovering. Amy struck the perfect balance of being friendly, professional and genuinely caring about our experience, which certainly made our dining experience memorable. Sadly this was a solid 5 stars 3 years ago but the last couple years it has gone completely down hill . The staff isn't what it used to be for starters . They obviously don't want to be bothered . There's an obvious change there and if this is the direction I don't expect it to last . Really nice view from our table upstairs but that's the only nice thing I can say about this place. The service was terrible-someone in my party asked for sweetener for her iced tea and the waitress said she would "have to go downstairs to get it." Talk about a guilt trip! We also ordered truffle parm fries for $2 extra and received plain fries. When I mentioned it to the waitress, her solution was to bring out a truffle parmesan seasoning container and sprinkled it on our fries right at the table. I don't think that's how it works?!?! My friends and I were walking around by the beach and decided to pop into this restaurant. Do they have the best lobster roll in Maine? No. But do they have a really nice location and ambiance? For sure! My friends and I got the lobster roll (the larger one) to share. It was almost like an appetizer. I don't think I'd come back for lobster here, as there are plenty of other options around, but the service was great and we had a nice experience overall. We were looking for dinner on the water, and the lobster Rangoons on the menu at Ogunquit Beach Lobster House drew us in! My husband and I were seated, and our server, who also doubled as the bartender, was friendly and attentive. The experience was a little more informal than we were expecting, with us shouting our drink orders to him at the bar from our seat and him talking to the table behind us while refilling our drinks. The Rangoons were definitely worth it and had a very tasty aioli sauce. The clam chowder was delicious, but I've definitely had better bisque. My husband enjoyed his colossal lobster roll, and since I was looking for a change from seafood, I had the vegetable ravioli. They were swimming in a pretty basic tomato sauce, and the dish made me wish I had stuck to seafood instead. The restaurant was beautifully designed inside and the views were fantastic. read more

This place is awesome! I was a little nervous when I read recent reviews but honestly I think those reviewers where high out of their mind. We would have payed twice the amount for 1/3 the quality back home. We ordered the steamers (9/10), lobster Rangoon (9.5/10), garden salad and Caesar salad (10/10), BLOODY MARY WITH A HUGE SHRIMP AND LOBSTER (100/10) and their lobster bisque soup which had huge chunks of lobster in it (1000/10). Yes it was expensive but we are paying for lobster which is EXPENSIVE. Also we had a wonderful experience with Analise, she was attentive, quick and very friendly. I will recommend this place and their GREAT SERVICE for anyone going to Maine. read more

We had a really surprising and wonderful experience at the Lobster House! We came on a weekday for lunch. The weather was beautiful so we were looking for a place where we could sit outside on the water. The super friendly hostess was very accommodating, even though it was just a tad windy on their petite patio. They have a great cocktail menu so we sampled a couple of them - the lobster house punch was delicious and the limoncello spritz was so light and perfect for a warm spring day! Both of the food items we ordered really blew us away too. The mussels were some of the best that we've had in a long while - mussels were so tender and extremely flavorful, even the ones that were not swimming in the broth. And speaking of broth, omg was it good! Creamy and dreamy but herbaceous and oh-so-good when paired with the accompanying garlic bread. The seafood chowder was also exceptional, with big chunks of lobster and shrimp and who knows what else in there. The flavor was rich and spot on, down to the very last bite. The service was friendly and efficient and everything came out quick. The whole atmosphere was great! Considering that this is likely a very touristy spot in the summer, I was impressed at all the things they are doing right. We can't wait to come back! read more

Over priced & under seasoned food. service was slow. we also had a long hair in our kid's burger. we had the clam chowder & the fishermen's fried platter - soup tasted good. fisherman's fried platter was heavy on fries and light on seafood - not worth $38 for Sysco fries, one piece of haddock, 5 small scallops & 7 or 8 clam strips! restaurant is short staffed - sign at the door alerts you to be patient. it took about 45 minutes to get our food. we had to ask for refills for the boys sodas - we only got one in the two hours we were there. it did have a great view! Where do I begin. What a beautiful location to have such an establishment. Where is management? It's clear that the wait staff is NOT trained. I had to walk to the bar to request my pre-ordered drinks. His eyes when I requested our drinks was that of amazement. He couldn't fathom the idea that I walked from our table to get our drinks. Why aren't drinks put in as soon as the order is received? That's basic resturant operations. Drink order first and if you have the orders, put those in right away. The food was eh. Overcooked seafood. The lobster ravioli was ok. Wasn't much there to provide a feasible evaluation. Tenders and fries for the mini's was what it needed to be. There should be an overhaul on the wait staff at the very least and update the menu. read more

There was a short wait and a sign hanging at the hostess station saying they are short handed and to be patient. The top patio was closed. The wait to be seated was short but the time to get our food and drink was a lot longer. The broth the mussels were in was not good and it wasn't a little bit of broth. It filled about 1/2 of the bowl so it was unavoidable. My friend's Caprese sandwich didn't look good and she told me it tasted as sad as it looked. Also, the "truffle" fries were a joke. This was a regular vacation spot and a favorite since it first opened. Used to have the best lobster roll in town. However, it changed for the worse. A beautiful restaurant and a nice waitress cannot even redeem the poor, stale, low quality food. First, they seemed out of a few menu items. Place used to be spotless. It was dirty and bathrooms were appalling. The salad came overdressed and drenched in heavy dressing. Croutons were stale and it tasted like it was sitting out. The lobster roll was a fraction of the size last year. It was cold, chewy and tasted too like it was sitting out. My husband had the steak. Its color was off and he said it didn't taste good and was overcooked. Sad to see another place in town go south. Ogunquit seems to be suffering from expecting tourists to pay anything (high prices) for very subpar/gross food. It is bad enough seeing the quality of food seem to decline in various places. To experience that along with steep price increases is unfortunate. We may be reconsidering our summer vacation locations after this year. Very disappointing. read more

Best restaurant and lobster roll out of the 6 restaurants I went to during my week in Ogunquit. The "Colossal Lobster Roll" was by far the best. It was chock full of at least 5 lobsters worth of fresh claw and knuckle meat. I had to use a fork. Usually I wouldn't even give french fries a second thought but their fries are out of this world. They have some sort of seasoned crispy coating goodness on them that are an unusual stand-out in a world of frozen fries. The lobster bisque was also delicious and had whole claw and knuckle meat in it as well. My Dark & Stormy cocktail was strong and perfect for a rainy day. The place is clean, modern and stylish with a great view of the river. The bartender (short girl with blonde hair) was awesome and seemed genuinely happy to be there (unlike the other places I visited in Ogunquit). I wish this restaurant was located in my town. I would be a regular for sure. read more

We should have known when we walked in, and the front desk person just looked at us and didn't say a word. We ordered drinks and we had to ask our waitress to please deliver them. Okay so we waited and picked them up at the bar ourselves. Everything we ordered was overcooked. We traveled for 4 1/2 hours to get there, and we were starved, or we have returned everything. This was our first stop during our Boston-Bar Harbor road trip. The views can't be beat! It was pretty chill since we came on a Sunday night and was able to grab a table by the window. We tried a couple of items: chowders, the fisherman's platter (?), some fried oysters, and the colossal lobster roll. Food came out piping hot and they were delicious. Although the colossal lobster roll was a bit underwhelming.. it was the same size as a regular lobster roll. If this was the colossal, I wonder how tiny the regular one is. Located right next to the large parking lot of Ogunquit Beach, this lobster house serves New England classics in a fine dining setting with reasonable prices and killer views. Shoes and shirts are required to dine-in. Considering that it is next to Ogunquit Beach, it's an important thing to point out. There is a large dining room with huge windows giving views into the bay, and assuming the outdoor dining area has even better views. It definitely was the best ambiance/view that we had dining in our entire week visiting New England. It wasn't busy at all on a Tuesday afternoon, while the adjoining beach was very full. That could be a bad sign, but I think it's just because most folks making a day at the beach just want something a lot less formal, though prices probably wouldn't be that different for fresh seafood. We were greeted warmly right away, and were seated at a table of 4 (for the two of us), right next to those large windows. The local draught on tap was unique: Box 1901 IPA done as a collaboration with the local fire department ($9 per pint). It was very smooth, not too hoppy, goes well with seafood. I really wanted to get Steamers (steamed clams for $25), to compare it with the deep-fried whole clams that I had gotten earlier in the trip. The steamers were great, served with drawn butter and some of the clam broth....used both for dipping the clams. It confirmed my preference for steamed clams, and believe one can't really mess it up as long as you start with live clams and don't overcook it. My wife got our last planned lobster roll of our trip, what the restaurant calls the Colossal (a full half pound of meat) on a toasted brioche bun for $35. We asked for it linda's way, which means no dressing...just warmed lobster meat. It came with the spices that would normally be sprinkled on top, but we asked for it on the side. We used the drawn butter from the other dish, and the roll was good. Most of the meat was smaller size claw meat. The meat wasn't chewey at all...guessing it had been prepared offsite, but I prefer tender offsite lobster meat rather than fresh, overcooked lobster (which did happen on this trip). It's a good deal for the amount of meat given. It came with fries (average) and cole slaw (good and crunchy). The service was good through-out, very pleasant and engaged. Overall, eating an early meal at Ogunquit Beach Lobster Hall, was a great way to finish off our last dinner on this great trip to NE. read more

This place is a MUST if u are inOgunquit. It's really a very large log cabin structure with picnic tables throughout. Excellent service, especially considering the number of tables that need servicing. They open at 5pm. I recommend arriving earlier because they don't take reservations and the huge parking lot was full at 5:05. Also you get a better selection of lobsters if you arrive at openings. read more

Awesome everything. THE VIEW!!! Amazing service by eager teen/college staff who are super cheerful like so many other service professionals in this exceptionally charming town. The 'fisherman's platter' was very good, deeelish steamers, yummmm lobster, though regrettably the corn was bordering on terrible. Went back the next day and simply had the steamers!! [ the super bad corn with rot spots turned me off to getting another fisherman's platter ]. I'd still most definitely go back for steamers, VIEW , service and lobster, of course. read more

I think the ambience of this place is absolutely gorgeous, especially because of where it's located right on the beach you see it from all angles. However, the service was just like lack luster. We just got takeout and we had to go inside to the bar and we didn't seem to really want to help us. They just gave us a menu and then forgot all about us until I wouldn't tell somebody that would help us about 10 minutes later. We just got takeout and we got only the chicken fingers And they were pretty good. Wish they came with some sort of sauce though but overall it was pretty good and not a bad alternative. read more

Visited here for dinner July 16th with my sister. We were seated in the back of the restaurant where the faux leather seats were dingy & dirty. The tables weren't cleared & there was food left on the seats & tables. Our waitress was not attentive & at one point my sister had to go and search for her & found her in back of the hostess station rummaging through her purse. The cold lobster roll was room temperature & I was afraid to eat it, but our waitress heard none of it & did not care that I wasn't happy with it, she told me that's just how it is. She did not come back to our table to check on us, take a dessert order or freshen our drinks after that - another waitress (very courteous & friendly) finished our service. At one point 2 servers came over to open the banquet seating right next to me to get access to their storage and wanted me to move to accommodate them as I'm trying to eat my $100 room temperature lobster roll. Also during our entire meal a worker was sweeping the floor in our area with a regular broom kicking up dirt while we're trying to eat.
