A friend of mine whose local brought me here! I loved it!! The lobster roll changed my life. Buttery, tender, delicious. And packed full of meat. After the first bite I couldn't stop smiling, it was an amazing lunch. Also loved the clam chowder, it was a perfect warm up on an overcast day. No line when we went which was great! read more

Got the clam chowder and lobster roll combo. The clam chowder was very very good! Tasty and not too creamy. Just enough brine and bits of clams. The lobster role was underwhelming, but maybe not their fault because if you wait in a long line you expect over the top taste. We got a lobster roll with butter drizzled on top so I assumed it would be served warm, but alas we are in Maine so it was served chilled. Bread was buttered perfectly, just wanted warm lobster with the buttered lobster. Bottom line: glad we went. Won't return if the line is that long again. read more

There is no shortage of establishments serving lobster rolls to tourists in the area, and after reading positive reviews and observing the long line, I decided we'd give this place a shot. It's a small takeout window serving lobster rolls and other seafood dishes. The line was long, but it moved quickly and we were served fast and the staff was kind. The lobster rolls were all anyone could ask for. Large pieces of lobster, perfectly toasted bun, and there is ample seating in the neighborhood to enjoy your lobster roll with an extraordinary view. Next time I'm vacationing in the area I'll be sure to stop by again. read more

Maine, Perkins Cove (Ogunquit): It's been awhile since I've been to Maine, so this is exactly what I was hoping for from my lobster roll! They boast 5.3 ounces in each sandwich, with an option of butter, mayo or both. Also got the potato salad. Order from their window, no indoor seating, but there are benches across the street. Prices are set per market... $29.95 in July 2026! They weren't serving any fried foods (all crossed out in red). Next door to the Lobster Shack which has indoor seating. Thanks for a yummy experience! read more

One of my favorite spots for lobster rolls in southern Maine (and I'm a local so I am the authority on this :). I brought my Arizona friend here to try her first ever lobster roll and she loved it, too! Rolls are huge, and the clam chowder is so flavorful! read more

I held out from eating lobster in Boston to wait for the day trip here and it was worth it! First time having lobster roll and the lobster I received was plump and soft. I don't like fishy tastes/seafood generally and this wasn't fishy at all. Not all rolls had similar quality though, one of the rolls my group ordered had a shell in it. Each lobster roll can be done with butter, mayo, or both and are heated upon request. They all come with a bag of kettle potato chips and a fork; there are condiments and napkins sitting out at the order window. The shop was a small house with one counter window open for ordering. There's handicap parking steps away from the order counter, and restrooms about a 2 min walk away. The house sits across from a tall footbridge which is a nice photo spot, and there's a bench and trash can underneath it. It took about 15 mins to order and receive our items with a line that was about 7 people long! We came on a summer Saturday afternoon and it was lively, there were lots of people strolling around. The surrounding area seems like a resort town with lots of inns and rentals. read more

I am a "foody" from CA and this was by far the freshest and most generous lobster roll I have ever had. The lobster was not fishy at all. It was sweet and fresh Even the bread had a delicious flavor and perfect texture. Meal also included some kettle chips. Overall the portions are extremely generous, lobster is fresh, staff is kind and accommodating, and you simply must try a lobster roll here and cannot leave Maine without trying one. read more

This was my first lobster roll in Maine and it did not disappoint. We ordered two lobster rolls served warm and fish and chips. The lobster rolls were so overloaded with lobster that you couldn't see the bread underneath. They definitely did not hold back on their generous portion. The warm bread was soft and the roll as a whole had just enough butter. The lobster was not stuffed in the bread so we had to open the bread up and stuff as much lobster in between! After exploring other lobster shacks, the value at this location cannot be beat. The rolls were $30.95 for just a bit over 5 oz. The fish and chips was a HUGE portion of both. It was served very hot and fresh. This is just a small lobster shack so there is not any seating but there were a couple seat benches close by. Service was quick. read more

Footbridge lobster vs Lobster Shack review Location: Footbridge lobster is located right next door to Lobster shack right by the footbridge. Seating: Footbridge js TAKE OUT ONLY with a big window you walk up to order and pickup. There are some benches nearby you might get lucky or you can stand by the bridge and eat. Lobster shack has seating and bathrooms. Price: On a Monday post lunch hour, I ordered the Lobster roll with clam chowder soup. Foot bridge is cheaper if you buy the combo outside of the lunch special hour compared to lobster shack. If you buy during lunch hour, they both are about similar in pricing. FOOD: The biggest difference between the two was TEXTURE. Footbridge offered a bouncy/chewier texture while Lobster Shack offered a softer easier to pull apart lobster. Secondly, the bread is slightly smaller at footbridge but the meat is 5oz almost singular piece versus lobster rolls multiple smaller pieces. Clam chowder was similar in the sense that footbridge had a thicker milkier consistency like most New England clam chowder while Lobster shack had more meat/substance but thinner liquid base with a somewhat coconut type taste. Both lobsters and clam chowder are unique and tasty in their own way and all boils down to preference. Lobster shack also had a pickle on the side but the price is slightly higher which all in all boils down to whether you like to chew or just wolf down that lobster roll. read more

Yum!! First lobster roll and I loved it. Don't skip the butter and mayo! Line was long but moved fast and meat tasted so fresh and not fishy. The fries were also 10/10! We were visiting the area and a few locals told us to come to this spot because it was their favorite. So we did. I did notice there's a lobster shack right next door; apparently a sit down restaurant with no line. There was a big line to Footbridge, but surprisingly it moved super quickly. I loved seeing a family run business. Dad and older brother cooking in the back, daughter and younger son taking orders and getting drinks. They have a decent menu besides just lobster rolls. I got the lobster roll of course; done up both ways. When it came out honestly I wasn't expecting much; because I've had a few in Boston before; but I didn't understand the hype. Here in Maine at this spot I understand completely. My friend and I had just gotten done with lunch about 30 min prior to ending up at this spot; so I wasn't hungry at all. I just figured I'd try a bite and be done. Well that wasn't the case. This thing was delicious. Best lobster roll I've eaten; I ended up torturing my self and eating the whole thing. Definitely worth the hype. If you're in the area definitely come here. read more

This place is a tourist trap. If you're looking for a fresh lobster roll at a decent price, look elsewhere. After waiting in line for half an hour, we finally ordered the lobster roll with hot melted butter, along with the clam chowder. The lobster was chewy and had a briny, fishy taste. The bun was good, and the clam chowder was okay, but I would not recommend the lobster roll. You would think that since Maine lobster is local, the lobster roll would be more reasonably priced, but it's almost $30 for a roll--the same price you'd pay for a lobster roll in California. For the price and quality, it's just not worth it. read more

I'm covering multiple trips - usually it's a 5 - excellent quality and value is solid. Delicious lobster BLT and their regular staple lobster rolls are also great in any version. During peak it's super busy but staff is efficient and friendly and the line moves fast. Today however was a problem-online said open until 6. Arrived at 5:20 to employee closed early - "owner called and said to close". The main reason we came up was for one last lobster roll with a guest before we have to leave for the season. Mileage, parking costs etc a waste! Frustrating and annoying and a poor business practice. read more

As a native Mainer I am always skeptical of the popular lobster roll spots but decided to finally give footbridge a try while I had an out of stater visiting. The location in Perkins Cove is absolutely stunning, I love watching the boats and walking the shops and then doing the Marginal way walk after. This makes for a perfect summer day. Yes parking is bad! But parking farther away and walking is totally doable and then you really get to see all of this beautiful area. I really expected a long wait at noon an a beautiful sunny Saturday but I was very impressed with how fast it moves. Yes we did still wait but it was not excruciating at all. Once we ordered our food it came out within minutes so I know that the wait is not due to inadequacy but just because there's so many people! Now onto the rolls. These are a fantastic price at $29. The roll is incredibly buttery and toasted. It is loaded with lobster! We did one mayo and one with butter but I think next time I was just go with butter because the mayo didn't add anything for me. The lobster was fresh and cooked perfectly. We went during Maine blueberry weekend and they were including mini blueberry muffins with every lobster roll which was a cute addition! I loved waiting the boats and eating by the water. I would battle parking and wait in lines again for these rolls! read more

Our lobster rolls with hot butter was phenomenal. No other words other than go and get some. Well worth the price. We got two rolls and two lemonades. $105. Lots of fresh lobster! I'll be dreaming of this roll till we come back to Maine. read more

The lobster grilled cheese was great. The only problem with this place is that it is take-out only. We did manage to find a place to sit, but it wasn't easy. If you want to picnic on the Marginal Way, I would highly recommend Footbridge. Otherwise, maybe not so much. read more

Really good lobster roll but the price is INSANE. $41 in Aug 2025. Seems like just a few months ago it was $35 so that price increase is crazy but hey... we paid it. We're happy it was a good, overly stuffed roll. Cashier recommended we try the mayo+button combo and that was terrific. Fries were good too! FYI: no seating it's a shack you order at the window but find a bench or spot nearby. read more

Overall a good experience from Footbridge. You can tell it's quite popular because the line is always long. The location is great right in the heart of Perkin's Cove which makes it a picturesque place to stop after walking Marginal Way. We ordered 3 lobster rolls and a shrimp roll. They put all three rolls in the same container which made it a little hard to divide since you each need a tray to catch the spilling lobster. Sadly current market price for lobster makes this roll total $30.95 which is pretty steep. I will say, compared to others I have seen and experienced in the area, it was stuffed with a lot of meat! The pieces ranged from very tender to chewy, which is expected with lobster. I ordered mine warm with butter and honestly I added salt. The extra seasoning greatly improved the flavor experience. I'm assuming the mix of mayo and butter would be the way to go for max flavor. The shrimp roll was good, also with lots of shrimp. There are some seats nearby but the pro move is to take your food to the benches by the parking lot overlooking the water for a top tier experience. read more

This was the last stop on a New England honeymoon with my husband and out of the 8 or so places we got lobster rolls this was easily the worst. The meat looked off and smelled horrid. You can't travel to Maine without having a lobster roll and Perkins Cove is a charming location to visit. This is a walk-up stand was a decent lobster roll containing a good amount of lobster. It would have received 5 stars, but some of the lobster was tough. There was a special that came with a drink and a homemade ice cream sandwich that you pick up a few doors down. Lobster Roll was the best I've ever had! View at Perkins Cove spectacular and service was great!

We are going to go broke buying lobster rolls if we don't get out of Maine very soon! This is the best we've had so far - literally overflowing with giant chunks of moist, tender lobster meat lightly mixed with mayo and melted butter on a soft, buttery toasted roll. So dang good! You definitely need a fork to eat because they are so loaded with huge chunks of lobster meat that it will fall off! Unfortunately, my dog Chico managed to snag a big chunk of claw meat when I was grabbing my soda! He did enjoy it thoroughly and he's such a good dog, he deserved it. The service was friendly and efficient, we had a short wait and there were several people in line. The lobster rolls were $31.95 for a 5oz roll and chips, which seems to be the going price. The least expensive rolls we had were $24.95, but they were only 4 oz and the meat was more chopped. It was still delicious, but this one knocked it out of the park. The cute little shop is located on Harbor Lane by the Perkins Cove drawbridge. Walk-up orders only, but there are plenty of benches to sit on. read more
