We stopped here for lunch while we were exploring town and I'm really glad we did. I had the burger and fries, and my friend got the grilled chicken sandwich with the broccoli salad. Both of our meals were really good and service was quick! My favorite part was the outdoor patio. 3.5 stars. When we visited the restaurant had a bit of a stressed atmosphere. We started at the bar while we waited for our table. The bar tender was very irritated by the amount of activity and made that clear to us as we sat down. We were at the bar for about ten minutes. My wife received her drink, but I had to wait an additional twenty minutes after being seated before I received mine. I felt bad for our waitress as she made several attempts to get my drink. Beyond that, we sat outside at a fire table which was a unique experience (in a good way). Food was excellent as were the drinks, but the stress level from the staff degraded the experience. read more

Lovely restaurant in the heart of Ogunquit. Diverse menu, with many options for seafood, meat and some vegetarian options. We didn't want a big dinner, so opted for soup and salads. Lobster bisque very filling and hearty was served with croutons. The clam chowder was well done and filling. We included lobster meat on the salad which made it a full meal! After dinner fudge was a great touch! We sat on the patio, next to a fire pit to take out some of the evening chill. The restaurant is positioned next to a very busy street, so it was noisy. The restaurant has a beautiful atmosphere, both inside and out. Based on the setting and appearance, we expected a more upscale dining experience, but unfortunately the food didn't live up to those expectations. I ordered the broccoli salad with shrimp. The shrimp was well cooked and flavorful, but the broccoli salad tasted like something you'd find at a supermarket deli rather than a restaurant at this price point. My partner had the fried scallops, which came with only fries, a small wedge of watermelon, and a couple of spoonfuls of coleslaw. While the scallops were decent, the sides were underwhelming, and overall the meal felt overpriced for what was served. The service was mixed. Our server was friendly and professional, but we felt a bit forgotten after our meal was finished. It took quite a while before anyone came back to check on us or ask if we needed anything else. We were also given a complimentary dessert at the end of the meal, which was a thoughtful gesture. However, its presentation was fairly underwhelming, so it didn't leave much of an impression and didn't desire to eat it. See picture of dessert attached. We just happened to walk by this place and decided to try it. We ate so glad we did! Our server was Noah and he was very friendly and attentive. Place was very busy with many waiting for a table outside. We chose for a quicker table inside and we are glad we did. Bar is decorated with pretty Turkish lamps Highlight of our evening was our perfect fish and chips. We got our order about 10 minutes after ordering. Fish was hot and nicely fried. This place is fantastic! My husband and I are MA residents that got married a couple weeks ago. We went here as a celebration dinner. Staff was very warm and welcoming. An impromptu moment after far too many delicious espresso martinis at Leavitt and was pleasantly surprised. Had the calamari app with their Elderflower Cucumber and Mint Martini , baked scallop with mashed potato, and baked haddock with broccoli salad. Everything was light, perfectly cooked, seasoned to perfection, and balanced. Not a single crumb left behind. The outdoor seating has gas fire pits in the centers of the table making for great ambiance and the staff were wonderful. Showed up right before close (didn't realize until being seated) and wasn't rushed. I am a huge seafood fan and I appreciate the normal portions with attention to detail instead of whopping portions of mediocre food. Will be returning when here next season. read more

They offer takeout on their menu. I called tonight and the gentleman who answered the phone asked for my name for takeout. I told him my name, expecting to order, and he said we don't have order by that name. I expressed I wanted to make a to-go order and he said they weren't taking to go orders right now. This brings up two issues, #1 their website is wrong #2 they obviously had current take out orders they were fielding since he asked my name. I wish I could give 0 stars. We were walking down the street in Ogunquit looking for a place for a late lunch. We stopped to look at the menu and the host approached us with complementary fudge. it was amazing and we were intrigued by the outdoor fire pit tables in late October so we decided to take a chance. Definitely a great location for a great restaurant. I enjoyed the historic building it is in. Firstly, they had the best martini thar I had on vacation- I believe it's called the Earl's Grey. I could have had several of those. Their blood orange bourbon was excellent too. (Dear owner- what's in the Earl Grey martini? Forgot to photograph the menu lol) Everyone enjoyed their food; I had the steak & cheese sandwich which was delicious. Yes, if ever again I visit Ogunquit, I will lunch again at the Rose Cove -- for the Lobster Flatbread. That was by far the best thing I had there. The crabcakes were too crusty;taste was lost in the crunch. I tried the Rose Cove special shot from the specialty drinks menu: was supposed to be elderberry and blueberry liqeuers, and peach schnapps. $10. It tasted only of the peach schnapps. I'd hoped for a blueberry taste. Another winning item, though, was a dessert -- the blueberry and lemon cake with Mascarpone frosting. I'm glad to say my daughter and I shared this, and lleft quite a bit of the frosting because it was so rich. But a delightful combination of flavors and textures. Rose Cove was a very pretty place to have lunch, making our last day there even more beautiful. read more

We had the coconut shrimp - amazing with just the right amount of sweet coconut, fish and chips - huge portion and perfectly crispy, and the lobster salad - I was so impressed with how much lobster came with this dish! The lobster bisque was thick and smoky, with lots of actual lobster pieces in it. Very savory. Bacon wrapped scallops Were pan seared and also quite good with a maple dipping sauce. The garden salad is pretty large and has quite a variety of toppings over a bed of Romain lettuce. And you can get it with 6 ounces of lobster on top if you prefer. They drew us in with the free fudge samples. We are so glad we decided to go in to eat our lunch! We shared the bacon wrapped scallops and crab cakes with pepper aioli appetizers. We followed those with delicious salads. I got the almond and berry salad with fresh strawberries and blueberries and a savory raspberry vinaigrette. My husband got the broccoli salad with feta cheese, red onions, and pistachios. We sat out on the patio in the shade with a cool breeze for this hot day. Here's the jist. I like this place because it's in a central location and has a good ambience. The string lights and the fire pit tables are a really good touch. Would I come back for the food? No. The food was subpar. Not terrible, not great. We got the lobster roll (not pictured - looks like the other pics) and it was just ok, the roll it was on was rock hard which wasn't ideal. Definitely better rolls in Ogunquit. The lobster flatbread was pretty decent - seems to be one of the better lobster related options. Whatever you do, DONT GET THE MAC N CHEESE. They weirdly put the meat on top and it wasn't quality meat, the chicken was chewy and the pasta looked like it came out of a box. As a group of 5 without reservations we didn't have to wait more than a half hour to be seated for dinner which was great. We were able to sit at the bar and get drinks until our table was ready.
