Haddock sandwich at an outdoor fire pit table

We were walking down the street in Ogunquit looking for a place for a late lunch. We stopped to look at the menu and the host approached us with complementary fudge. it was amazing and we were intrigued by the outdoor fire pit tables in late October so we decided to take a chance. What a great experience! Our server was totally on top of things and we enjoyed our meal. They also have lap blankets at the fire pit table, and they bring more fudge with your check. I highly recommend this place!

Elderberry, cucumber, mint martini

Great service and food. Their elderberry cucumber mint martini are delicious. We also had the mac & cheese and bacon wrapped scallops. Yum.

Had a salad w dressing Fish.n chips minus the chips. W Brocoli salad w pistachios and cooked carrots. W a whiskey and coke. Whiskey and coke were disappointing. Nothing but ice.

Stopped in on a chilly fall day for a cocktail. We were lured in by the tabletop fires. Super cute place to visit!

The Earl Grey martini

Definitely a great location for a great restaurant. I enjoyed the historic building it is in. Firstly, they had the best martini thar I had on vacation- I believe it's called the Earl's Grey. I could have had several of those. Their blood orange bourbon was excellent too. (Dear owner- what's in the Earl Grey martini? Forgot to photograph the menu lol) Everyone enjoyed their food; I had the steak & cheese sandwich which was delicious. A bonus is their homemade fudge which they give a generous amount to each customer. Our server was very friendly and sweet. Definitely recommend!

Lobster garden salad, plain garden salad

A nice little spot right on the strip in Ogunquit. They have great outdoor seating with each table having its own fire pit to eat around. The lobster bisque was thick and smoky, with lots of actual lobster pieces in it. Very savory. Bacon wrapped scallops Were pan seared and also quite good with a maple dipping sauce. The garden salad is pretty large and has quite a variety of toppings over a bed of Romain lettuce. And you can get it with 6 ounces of lobster on top if you prefer. The lobster is chilled and lightly mayo or plain. Mine made for quite a filling and delicious serving.

Adorable cafe right on the main strip. We had the coconut shrimp - amazing with just the right amount of sweet coconut, fish and chips - huge portion and perfectly crispy, and the lobster salad - I was so impressed with how much lobster came with this dish! Definitely worth the price we will definitely be back for the shrimp and fish and chips!

Lemon and blueberry cake with Mascarpone frosting. YUM.

Yes, if ever again I visit Ogunquit, I will lunch again at the Rose Cove -- for the Lobster Flatbread. That was by far the best thing I had there. The crabcakes were too crusty;taste was lost in the crunch. I tried the Rose Cove special shot from the specialty drinks menu: was supposed to be elderberry and blueberry liqeuers, and peach schnapps. $10. It tasted only of the peach schnapps. I'd hoped for a blueberry taste. Another winning item, though, was a dessert -- the blueberry and lemon cake with Mascarpone frosting. I'm glad to say my daughter and I shared this, and lleft quite a bit of the frosting because it was so rich. But a delightful combination of flavors and textures. Rose Cove was a very pretty place to have lunch, making our last day there even more beautiful.

Here's the jist. I like this place because it's in a central location and has a good ambience. The string lights and the fire pit tables are a really good touch. Would I come back for the food? No. The food was subpar. Not terrible, not great. We got the lobster roll (not pictured - looks like the other pics) and it was just ok, the roll it was on was rock hard which wasn't ideal. Definitely better rolls in Ogunquit. The lobster flatbread was pretty decent - seems to be one of the better lobster related options. Whatever you do, DONT GET THE MAC N CHEESE. They weirdly put the meat on top and it wasn't quality meat, the chicken was chewy and the pasta looked like it came out of a box. I wanted to take a pic of the mac n cheese how it came out but my boyfriend already started mixing it up lol

We've been going to Ogunquit for years and somehow never tried this place, but lucked out this spring and got a hotel basically across the street so we checked it out and it was AMAZING! Delicious food and had no trouble with accommodation for diabetes and celiac. Really warm, friendly staff, and cool environment.

Gluten free chicken wings with all the sauces on the side. The sauces are: spicy caramel, blueberry bbq, and honey mustard

Rose cove is such a cute restaurant. The outdoor fireplace seating is really fun for friends or family. As a group of 5 without reservations we didn't have to wait more than a half hour to be seated for dinner which was great. We were able to sit at the bar and get drinks until our table was ready. The service is really friendly and the food is great! I have celiac and have to eat gluten free so I really appreciated the menu being clearly labeled with gluten free options.

So I generally check their hours of operation and drive there for dinner. Unfortunately in the spring we were turned away although we arrived over 1 hour before they closed as they said they were short- staffed and the kitchen was closing soon. We found a different place to eat and since we parked at the public lot across the street, we found that they were still open and had many customers an hour past their closing time. This time we decided to arrive extra early to avoid the previous situation. It was a sunny warm day but we were informed that the upstairs deck was closed because they were short staffed. We were looking forward to outside dining but the first floor deck is small and all the diners appeared to be having drinks. We choose first available which ended up being inside. When we first sat down, the couple sitting next to us wished us good luck getting our meals in the near future. Apparently all the others customers around arrived after them and they were almost finished with their meals and theirs hadn't arrived. A server offered them a compensatory drink for their inconvenience. One accepted and the other told them that she was done drinking for the day. When their bill arrived, the second customer asked if her drink could be comped. Her request was declined because they said that it would have been applied to the second drink and not to the first. As for our dinner, we went for the colossal lobster roll - hot with butter. We prefer the roll on the side to avoid it getting soggy. The regular lobster roll is currently priced at $35 with 1/4 lbs of meat. The colossal is $45 with 1/2 lbs of lobster meat. Our lobster meat was overcooked as it was slightly rubbery. That's not the quality we have gotten used to from years of visiting this restaurant. They may have had an off day as they were understaffed.

Like, I'd probably go out of my way just to come back. It is a super unassuming spot behind the building of a gift/craft store and ice cream shop. There is a bar seating and patio. It was not too crowded at 3ish in the afternoon on a Monday; we were greeted warmly and told to choose a table. They didn't have a high chair but they had booster seats. I got a glass of brut rosé and my husband got the Pilsner on draft. Both were refreshing and delicious! I got a half dozen oysters (followed by another half dozen afterward) of the fresh oysters of the day, and also learnt this place is on the Maine Oyster Trail. For good reason too--they were probably some of the best oysters I've ever had. Shucked perfectly, with delicious cocktail sauce, horseradish, lemon and mignonette. So good I had to get more. I had a burger for my main, with a gluten free bun and no cheese for dairy free. They also have gluten free fries that are made in a separate frier, bless! My husband got the lobster roll, cold style and said it was absolutely delicious--his first lobster roll and everything he hoped it would be. On top of the food and drinks being great, our server was an absolute gem. So kind, so helpful, he went above and beyond to take care of us and ensure my food was allergen safe. He even went out of his way to get milk for our toddler in a fun kids cup. I truly hope to make it back some day soon!

First things first - parking is super easy, it's a free valet service (not obvious at first, as there is parking behind the restaurant, but you're greeted right away when you pull in). We walked through the bar area, over to the restaurant area (surprisingly the bar was quite full), and were able to choose a table by one of the two fireplaces. On the restaurant side, it feels very cozy, and homey, exactly where you want to spend a cold night, inside eating dinner. Our server was lovely, greeted us right away and provided menus. I started with a cosmo (they had flavored versions like strawberry, but I elected to go for the classic). For an appetizer, we started with the bacon wrapped scallops - the bacon was maple glazed, and wonderfully crispy, with the scallops cooked perfectly, and some micro-greens scattered on the plate - delicious. For entrees, my mom had the baked seafood stuffed haddock which came with a lobster sherry cream sauce, a massive pile of perfectly cooked green beans, and mashed potatoes (yum). I went with the duck special, which was absolutely delightful. It came with Brussels sprouts, and I subbed out the au gratin (I very strongly dislike sweet potatoes), for mashed potatoes. It was delicious. We were so full, we opted for dessert to go (chocolate cake), which was generously portioned, and decadently delicious. We really enjoyed the meal - this was a wonderful dinner to celebrate my mom's 80th birthday!

I chose the filet with a lobster tail, fingerling potatoes and asparagus. Everything was simply superb. Dress was casual and the place was clean. Not thinking they are accessible though as there were steps going in the two doors we used.

So far we have tried the scallops, clam strips, fish sandwich, clam chowder, the fries, the coleslaw, and I'm sure I've forgotten something else. We have been very pleased with everything. The disappointment was the less than 2 Oz - 1/2 lobster tail sitting on top. It was tender, but a little more lobster pieces in this almost $40 dish of creamy Arborio rice would have been nice. The balsamic drizzle was a great taste touch. Lobster roll - nice presentation and tender lobster on the warm under-buttered hot dog roll - but not enough lobster. Decent fries and small cold slaw.
