Always a delicious meal at the clam shack - it's great to get a lobster roll that is gluten-free friendly. We picked up the clam shack a few times during our stay - we got lobster rolls, clam strips, chowder, onion rings, french fries and coleslaw. Everything was delicious and fresh. They have more outside seating now with picnic tables.. it's roped off so you're able to grab a drink from the inside and sit at one of the picnic tables with your beverage. We picked up late about 30 minutes before closed and the food came out quickly and hot.

What a fun little shack right on the water in Kennebunkport. You order at the window and they give you a buzzer which buzzes when your food is ready. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's mostly outdoor seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We got a pint of the fried clams and an order of onion rings, along with a blueberry hand pie. Everything was fresh and delicious. The only thing was that I needed to add some salt. This was a great place and I would recommend it!

Definitely a Kennebunkport staple! I got the grilled cheese and then a cheeseburger and fries another night. Safe option for those of us who don't like seafood. The food isn't amazing, but it's good and workers are nice and service is quick. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Good place to sit and eat in the midst of shopping and exploring the town.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

The hype is real! This lobster roll is THE best! Butter & Mayo .... yes please! The blueberry handpies are made fresh daily with a tender pastry that is just right [[HIGHLIGHT]]The outdoor picnic area has a great vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is spotless and the workers are busy and friendly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Solid place to eat if you are visiting Kennebunkport and want outdoor dining and people watching.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We ordered the fish sandwich and calamari tray with fries and slaw. I was a little surprised by the fish sandwich. Chunks of fish instead of a big piece. Because they didn't add anything on the sandwich (lettuce tomato sauce) we ended up just asking for tartar sauce and throwing away the bun. The calamari was good but would have loved to have a different sauce option that just cocktail sauce. Everything came out hot and fresh. Long line but it also moved quickly. A little expensive for what it was but to be expected I guess for where it is located. They did give us a coupon for a local place for buy one get one free ice cream. I'd go again for a casual lunch.

While in Kennebunkport Maine you have to get the Lobstah!!! If you are hungry one little lobster isn't going to cut it. So get some great Fried Clams!!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]This place is a tourist trap but we had to go.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It was a long wait to get the lobster but we didn't have anywhere to go

The outside benches were packed. There's tables and chairs if you walk between the shack and the market. No one here. This is the view

The Clam Shack in Kennebunk is definitely worth a stop if you're chasing lobster rolls in Maine. I went with the butter lobster roll, and it came packed with whole pieces of claw, knuckle and tail on a different type of bun. The Reilly Roll is baked fresh daily and is soft and slightly sweet. Simple, tasty, and satisfying. There were no lines and only a short wait, which made the experience easy and relaxed. The roll itself was good, though not quite as unforgettable as some of the others I've tried on this trip--that's the only reason for 4 stars (4.3) instead of 5. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Still, it's a solid spot right by the water with fresh, quality lobster and a true Maine vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Lobster roll is delicious, pricey but worth trying once. Fries are good. The fried clams are good if you like fried food. Ordering is a bit confusing (the guy also had a thick accent) but I thought I was getting clams on the shell but they were fried. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Very cute patio and inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Cool to see the lobster tanks and great location on the main road.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

This was our first visit to town and heard great things about this place so we stopped by. There was already a line at 11am but lines moved quickly. We had the lobster roll and fried haddock sandwich. Both very good. Great coleslaw too. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have plenty of outdoor picnic tables.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Tourist trap! This place was such a disappointment. Waited in a 20 minute line to get the smallest lobster roll I've ever had. It says there supposed to have 5 ounces of meat. Mine had 3 ounces at best and the bread was just so so. Overall it was a decent sandwich but it was so small. Considering the price and the long line, I couldnt help feeling incredibly ripped off (and disappointed). Fries were lukewarm, the blueberry handpie was mediocre and the clam cake was the worst bite of food I've had in a year. It was terrible. The two star rating I gave it was solely due to the very nice and kind staff. Very friendly bunch. They were great. If you're visiting the area, you're much better off at the Landing Store in Kennebunk. For the same price you'll get a roll with 4-5 times more lobster meat.

We were enjoying the coast of Maine and stopped in here when some others were not open mid week. I thought this place was just average and the least favorite we had. You get a 5 oz lobster roll, fries, and coleslaw for $34. Footbridge is about $6 more, but you get a much larger sandwich on toasted bread vs a cold hamburger bun. [[HIGHLIGHT]]With all the tour buses with seniors around, I would consider this place a blue plate special.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There are other places off the main drag doing it better.

Frankly, a mediocre lobster roll. The lobster was fine, but I feel like it could have been dressed a little better with some more mayo and seasoning. And the burger bun as opposed to a traditional NE roll was an interesting choice. Not the worst lobster roll I've ever had, but def not the best.

    The line.

Decent, but did it for the experience. Nice people working. Shared a lobster roll box for 3 to try out and was enough.

Hm. Pretty subpar lobster rolls on a hamburger bun. The whole menu left a lot to the imagination. Uninspired.

Some shopping and a few bits along the way. We weren't completely full for dinner but wanted the party to go on. I snagged a reservation at Hurricane and we were seated shortly after getting a round of drinks from the bar. My wife had her go to cocktail "A slightly Dirty Martini" while I opted for the citrusy Hemingway. Once seated we poured over the menu and couldn't make up our minds but our server was awesome. We weren't rushed and each passing visit continued the conversation with her about our trip, our day, our experience, and Kennebunkport content in general. At long last we simply decided to get two rounds of fresh oysters that were to absolutely die for as our meal. The snacking had taken its toll or my wife would have annihilated a 2 lb Maine Lobster on her own. I had some local Maine craft beers to go with the light fare and had to order the "Affogato" for desert. It simply called my name. The Hurricane offered a great atmosphere that was still somewhat hopping shortly before the clock suggested it was closing time. As we exited and walked over to our hotel for the last night before heading home, we found the usually crowded streets of the sea town barren and that offered some time for reflection on a great evening that was had by all.

The food was solid. Good, but no WOW factor. But the outstanding aspect of this dining experience…read morewas the service. Our waitress Seanna was the best waitress I've experienced in a very long time. I'm a NYer and my dining experience bar is high. Well she nailed it. Plus the Manager accommodated us as I was 1/2 hour early and she sat us in a quiet area of a very loud restaurant. Again, no complaints about the food, but the service was exceptional!
