Stopped here by chance without checking reviews first, clearly a mistake. It was very busy and our party of 3 did not have a reservation, but we were seated after only a 5 minute wait. That's pretty much where the positives end. It took around 30 minutes to even put our food order in, and another hour for our meals to come out. Drink service was also very slow with no apology or concern from the server at all. Presentation was subpar, and our meals were okay at best. Definitely not worth the price or wait. They had a help wanted sign outside, and clearly they're short-staffed, but if you don't have the staff to service a full restaurant then you should not be seating so many parties. Beware of spoiled food! My salad had decaying pieces of lettuce , which were wilted & black. I had 2 pieces, & then saw the decaying other black pieces. DANGEROUS! They covered it up with some fresh veggies on top. It must have been in the refrigerator for l week to deteriorate like that & to have all that bacteria forming. I asked for a substitute, which the waitress brought, with no apology or concern. Another issue was the cannoli dessert. The crust was so hard & stale, it was impossible to cut , even with a knife.In order to get like that , it must have been on the shelve for one month. This review is for the pizzeria attached to the restaurant. Smaller area inside to sit otherwise lots of seating outside. We went with a med pepperoni and cheese and a med gluten free with tomatoes and mushrooms. Both were delicious. Had a lobster ale beer that was very good paired with the pizza. Portions are large had to take home leftovers. I would've ordered a small but they only offer med and larges. read more

And I am a VERY patient person. We arrived at the bar area and got a seat immediately, which was surprising. The couple next to us, clearly had no food, but it took eternity to get drinks, they decided to leave. They got the check (and waited eternity) and asked for their card back. They left and then their bread, finally arrived. Not a good sign. There appeared to be one bartender who also served the table tops. This is way too big of an establishment to have one bartender, even for a slow Friday night. Not the worker's fault. Management is to blame. Where are the owners here?! My husband and I left after we finally got menus. And still.... We were at the BAR. SMH. We went next door to get pizza (still Roberto's), hoping this would be somewhat normal in terms of service. It was faster, BUT... What they don't tell you.... If you order a salad (yes, a SALAD), there's going to be a wait. Meaning, your pizza will come out BEFORE the salad. Why, you ask... they share the same kitchen as next door. ‍ There was a table of 4 -6 people that was there before us that waited 20 minutes over us to get their meals. It isn't the service nor the people working there... there is something seriously wrong with the management. If you go... set your expectations LOW. To the ground, low. The Margherita pizza.... I can make a better pizza with NAAN bread, tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, basil and my own sauce on the grill. No joke. Advice, DON'T. Final night in Maine we tried this place. The restaurant has a great name to start. My wife and I orders a bottle of wine. It's was 43 dollars. I found it at the store the next day for 12 bucks, lesson learned. We started out with garlic bread it was good but be warned they charge you 9 bucks for it. Let's start with my meal. I had shrimp and scallop scampi. It was fantastic buttery and just really nice. My wife had the lobster bisque. Great flavor but barely any lobster meat in it. My son got the lazy lobster with a side of pasta. The lobster was good. Their pasta sauce wasn't too bad. Our server was excellent. In a word - disappointing. For the price point, I expected more. Service was painfully slow for both drinks and food. However, I understand it's not always the servers' fault. Perhaps the kitchen was backed up and it was out of their control. After all, it was a busy Saturday evening. Drinks were fine once they were finally delivered. Food was OK. Presentation was severely lacking, especially the eggplant Parmesan. The seafood fra diavolo was sweet and had zero spice. Which surprised me because the server confirmed that I was OK with spicy. The seafood was decent but for almost $50 and the super long wait I expected more. My husband had the seafood risotto which was good not great. Definitely expected more based on menu pricing. What I found most disappointing was the lack of awareness by the server of our experience. There was no acknowledgement at all of the fact that we were waiting half an hour before a server visited us or that we waited almost an hour for our "OK" over priced meals. In fact, she came to ask how our first few bites were as we were finishing up and in need of take home boxes. With so many options available in wonderful Ogunquit I would save your money and skip Roberto's. read more

Outstanding meal at Roberto's. We sat on the front porch overlooking folks walking to and from Perkins Cove. The service was on point and attentive. My wife had the Seafood Fra Diavolo which was perfectly spicy but not overly hot on the taste buds. The pasta was cooked Al dente with pieces of lobster, shrimp and scallops. A nice portion with plenty of delicious tender seafood ($44) - well worth the cost. I had the lobster pappadelle with a creamy butter sauce - rich flavors with perfect al dente ribbon pasta. Like the diavolo dish - lots of tender lobster $44. The blueberry pie ($7.95) with whipped cream was off the hook good. Great crust and excellent deep blue cooked blueberry. Nice coffee. Nice Italian wine, non alcoholic beer and draft lobster ale. I will be back! read more

We had a really nice dinner at Roberto's. We arrived around 7:30pm on a Sunday evening in the fall and they were not very busy, we were seated right away. We started our meal with some warm bread and a yummy oil for dipping. We also ordered a carpaccio appetizer which was very good. I had seafood risotto for my main. It was delicious and the portions of seafood/lobster were generous. Finally, our server recommended the brownie sundae for dessert. It was more than enough for two of us to share, the brownie was warm, and it was overall delicious. I would definitely recommend Roberto's for a nice Italian meal in Ogunquit! read more

June 20, 2026. Chicken Parmesan terrible. Stringy, terrible cut of meat. Chef should have known not to serve it. Sauce was not Italian Sauce..... Are there any Italians that work there? Waiter should have asked if something was wrong with the meal when only, maybe four bites had been taken, but no one asked. Garlic bread terrible, lacked garlic taste. Went here for dinner since it was right across the street from Blue Shutters Inn where we were staying for the weekend. We called ahead to make reservations just an hour before. It was definitely crowded when we got there but they had several empty tables too. We got seated in the inner room by the window. They bring complimentary bread which came with a really nice flavored oil sauce. I wasn't too hungry so ordered the minestrone soup (bowl) and the wedge salad to share. The hubs ordered the penne sausage pasta and the Italian lemon drink. The soup was tasty rustic with veggies and a few beans. I expected the bowl size to be a bit larger. I ate it with the bread. The pasta was flavorful and was a pretty decent portion - had some leftovers. For dessert we ordered the tiramisu to share with- it was nice creamy. It's a nice restaurant with ample seating and cozy atmosphere. It had a very unique chandelier made of wine bottles. Overall good experience. read more

I would like to give 0 stars, my veal picatta was ice cold, and when I asked the miserable hostess/owner about if I could have it warm she said "Its the way its supposed to be" and wanted us to "behave" whatever that means, I asked her to make mine to go, I microwaved it yesterday at work and it was ok I guess, kind of tasted like a TV dinner. While we were having coffee she suggested we "move it along" because she needed the table for someone else. This was the worst dining experience I have ever endured. If the lady hates her job so much she should get out, customer service is definitely not her forte read more

Last year we had an amazing meal so of course it was on our list for this year. We always stay at Blue Shutter and we met the owner of Roberto's. She was lovely the meal was lovely last year. This year the service was ok, they didn't bring us bread this year. The drinks were ok, not great. I ordered an appetizer seafood stuffed portobello for $14, one small mushroom stuffed with some seafood not worth the dollar amount. The lasagna was flavorless. The seafood scampi had 3 shrimp, two Pieces of lobster claws and 3 scallops. Not bad but the flavor did not have garlic or lemon at all. I had to ask for cheese. Then the added political views tacked to the wall while eating which were not shared was distracting and caused negative feelings which I feel you shouldn't do if you're a professional business owner. Husband had the lobster pappardelle; sauce was a milky soup without any flavor and 2 miniature lobster claw meat just added to the sauce at the end so no lobster flavor in the dish. I had the swordfish with vegetables and both had no seasoning whatsoever. I had to ask for lemon, olive oil and used salt and pepper to make them somewhat edible. A very disappointing experience. We were a party of 10 and arrived at 6:30 pm. We were seated immediately. While we were waiting, the police came in the back door and took out 2 people from the kitchen area, presumably to arrest them. We were seated about 20 minutes before someone came to take our drink orders. Every aspect of the meal was slow. We had to wait to give appetizer orders, to get our appetizers, to order food & to get food. We ended up being there 2.5 hours. We had to ask about our meals and threaten to leave before they even brought any meals out of the kitchen. There was no communication about the delay from the wait staff. Some of the food was not cooked appropriately. My haddock was greasy and only warm. My husband had chicken Parmesan and it was tough and overcooked. All in all a bad experience. We've been visiting Ogunquit for 20 years, but our first time to dine at Roberto's was on a Saturday evening during a busy July 4th weekend. We made last-minute reservations for four adults for 6:30 and told we might have to wait. We arrived at 6:15 preparing to wait in the bar, but were seated right away in a spacious booth. Our waitperson was very friendly and attentive. We ordered drinks then studied the menu. We started with two wedge salads to share. It was crisp and the dressing was delicious. I ordered linguini with homemade tomato sauce, meatballs and hot Italian sausage. The combination of flavors was delicious and reminded me of Sunday dinners at my grandmothers when I was growing up. She was a first generation Italian-American. Others in my party ordered seafood linguini, stuffed cannelloni, and veal with mushroom sauce which they loved. The owner Kathy stopped by our table. She was very friendly, personable and glowed with pride as she shared a brief history of her restaurant. Going forward Roberto's will be a favorite spot for dinner. read more

I was there yesterday and had the worst experience ever. My meal which was part of their, "Sunset Specials was terrible. I selected grilled chicken with vegetables. The vegetables were so hard I had to ask the waiter for a steak knife to cut the vegetables. I like them Al dante but they were like raw, and the chicken had no flavor and overcooked. The worst part of the meal was the waiter. I felt that I was ignored most of the evening, and had to ask him for various things like, bread, which comes with the meal, then parmesan cheese for my minestrone soup. Then I selected ice cream for my dessert, and it came out with two scoops of ice cream with nothing else. I thought the waiter could have asked me if I wanted some chocolate sauce or something to go with the ice cream, but he didn't. I had a terrible experience and a lot of it was due to the waiter. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone, and I will never go back there again. There are too many better Italian restaurants in Ogunquit to eat at. By the way, I did let the host at Roberto's know of my experience with the bad food and especially the bad service, and I was very nice about it. I told the host that he needs to make his management aware of this and that they need to do a better job at training their employees. read more

What's with the hate? I've been here two times and I love it. The food tastes fresh and delicious. I am very picky with Italian food, but it's solid. The tomato sauce has a homemade taste. I love their appetizers. Come between 5 and 6 for the affordable meal special, but it is honestly worth full price. The serving sizes are HUGE. You could easily split an entree with someone and get an appetizer. Ok, the service. Both times my waiters were amazing! They are always so happy like you know they enjoy working there. Our food was ready promptly. We got bread and appetizer at the proper times. One after the other. Our waiter checked on us a few times, then we got desert. It was great too. Solid 5 stars each time. The one star is for the valet, who felt so bad that we didn't get to eat, he would not accept the tip I tried to give him. He was the only member of the staff who seemed to care if we had a good experience or not. When we arrived inside, the hostess just looked at us. I explained we had a reservation, and were 15 minutes early. She said ok, and walked away. Came back and said it would be a few minutes. We had no problem with that, we were early. I asked if we could sit in the bar while we waited. Due to her attitude, I was afraid if I didn't let her know we were going to be in there she would just give our table away. She didn't answer me. I asked two more times, and she continued to ignore me. I said "excuse me" in a little louder tone and she looked over at me. I again asked if we could sit in the bar. She said yes. We proceeded to the bar. There were five of us, with two seats empty, so two of us sat. The other three stood at the (not very large) bar and waited. And waited. And waited. The bartender completely ignored us. Finally, another bartender came out from the back and immediately asked us if we wanted to order drinks. As soon as we told him our order the hostess came to tell us our table was ready. We were shown to our table. The restaurant itself is lovely, and has a casual elegance to it. We were very much looking forward to dinner, as the menu had a lot of amazing dishes to choose from. We looked it over and decided what we wanted to eat. Then we waited. And waited. And waited. As we waited, we noticed that everyone around us seemed to be angry. It turns out everyone was waiting, either for their drink order, their food, or someone to simply acknowledge their presence. We were in the latter category. After 45 minutes of waiting, with no one even taking a drink order, and watching the tables around us experiencing the same neglect, we got up and left. We had now been at this restaurant for an hour and a half, with not so much as a slice of bread being offered to us. The wait staff were walking around like they were out for a stroll. There was no sense of even trying. For the prices this place charges, we expected a lot more. I get that everywhere is short staffed. But there seemed to be food runners, and a manager, as well as wait staff strolling around with no sense of urgency. The hostess was indifferent bordering on downright rude. There are so many wonderful places to eat up and down Shore Road. Skip Robertos. We will from now on. read more

This was our fourth visit to Robertos. We always loved the food. No more. After a 3 year hiatus we returned and were totally disappointed. Food quality is down-prices are up. Small portions and mediocre quality describe our meal. My baked haddock was miniscule in both size and flavor. The bruschetta starter was infused with a gigantic dose of garlic and almost inedible.
