Went here for dinner since it was right across the street from Blue Shutters Inn where we were staying for the weekend. We called ahead to make reservations just an hour before. It was definitely crowded when we got there but they had several empty tables too. We got seated in the inner room by the window. They bring complimentary bread which came with a really nice flavored oil sauce. I wasn't too hungry so ordered the minestrone soup (bowl) and the wedge salad to share. The hubs ordered the penne sausage pasta and the Italian lemon drink. The soup was tasty rustic with veggies and a few beans. I expected the bowl size to be a bit larger. I ate it with the bread. The pasta was flavorful and was a pretty decent portion - had some leftovers. For dessert we ordered the tiramisu to share with- it was nice creamy. It's a nice restaurant with ample seating and cozy atmosphere. It had a very unique chandelier made of wine bottles. Overall good experience.

Always my go to when in Ogunquit. Fresh Italian offerings when you want other than fried seafood.

So I generally check their hours of operation and drive there for dinner. Unfortunately in the spring we were turned away although we arrived over 1 hour before they closed as they said they were short- staffed and the kitchen was closing soon. We found a different place to eat and since we parked at the public lot across the street, we found that they were still open and had many customers an hour past their closing time. This time we decided to arrive extra early to avoid the previous situation. It was a sunny warm day but we were informed that the upstairs deck was closed because they were short staffed. We were looking forward to outside dining but the first floor deck is small and all the diners appeared to be having drinks. We choose first available which ended up being inside. When we first sat down, the couple sitting next to us wished us good luck getting our meals in the near future. Apparently all the others customers around arrived after them and they were almost finished with their meals and theirs hadn't arrived. A server offered them a compensatory drink for their inconvenience. One accepted and the other told them that she was done drinking for the day. When their bill arrived, the second customer asked if her drink could be comped. Her request was declined because they said that it would have been applied to the second drink and not to the first. As for our dinner, we went for the colossal lobster roll - hot with butter. We prefer the roll on the side to avoid it getting soggy. The regular lobster roll is currently priced at $35 with 1/4 lbs of meat. The colossal is $45 with 1/2 lbs of lobster meat. Our lobster meat was overcooked as it was slightly rubbery. That's not the quality we have gotten used to from years of visiting this restaurant. They may have had an off day as they were understaffed.

Like, I'd probably go out of my way just to come back. It is a super unassuming spot behind the building of a gift/craft store and ice cream shop. There is a bar seating and patio. It was not too crowded at 3ish in the afternoon on a Monday; we were greeted warmly and told to choose a table. They didn't have a high chair but they had booster seats. I got a glass of brut rosé and my husband got the Pilsner on draft. Both were refreshing and delicious! I got a half dozen oysters (followed by another half dozen afterward) of the fresh oysters of the day, and also learnt this place is on the Maine Oyster Trail. For good reason too--they were probably some of the best oysters I've ever had. Shucked perfectly, with delicious cocktail sauce, horseradish, lemon and mignonette. So good I had to get more. I had a burger for my main, with a gluten free bun and no cheese for dairy free. They also have gluten free fries that are made in a separate frier, bless! My husband got the lobster roll, cold style and said it was absolutely delicious--his first lobster roll and everything he hoped it would be. On top of the food and drinks being great, our server was an absolute gem. So kind, so helpful, he went above and beyond to take care of us and ensure my food was allergen safe. He even went out of his way to get milk for our toddler in a fun kids cup. I truly hope to make it back some day soon!

First things first - parking is super easy, it's a free valet service (not obvious at first, as there is parking behind the restaurant, but you're greeted right away when you pull in). We walked through the bar area, over to the restaurant area (surprisingly the bar was quite full), and were able to choose a table by one of the two fireplaces. On the restaurant side, it feels very cozy, and homey, exactly where you want to spend a cold night, inside eating dinner. Our server was lovely, greeted us right away and provided menus. I started with a cosmo (they had flavored versions like strawberry, but I elected to go for the classic). For an appetizer, we started with the bacon wrapped scallops - the bacon was maple glazed, and wonderfully crispy, with the scallops cooked perfectly, and some micro-greens scattered on the plate - delicious. For entrees, my mom had the baked seafood stuffed haddock which came with a lobster sherry cream sauce, a massive pile of perfectly cooked green beans, and mashed potatoes (yum). I went with the duck special, which was absolutely delightful. It came with Brussels sprouts, and I subbed out the au gratin (I very strongly dislike sweet potatoes), for mashed potatoes. It was delicious. We were so full, we opted for dessert to go (chocolate cake), which was generously portioned, and decadently delicious. We really enjoyed the meal - this was a wonderful dinner to celebrate my mom's 80th birthday!

We started with scallops wrapped in bacon and their bread service. The butter was sweetened and the bread was great. The scallops with bacon were excellent. My husband enjoyed a few vodka with cranberry and he wasn't disappointed. He chose the crab stuffed shrimp and sincerely loved it. The rice and green beans were great but he was full from the shrimp. I chose the filet with a lobster tail, fingerling potatoes and asparagus. Everything was simply superb. Dress was casual and the place was clean. Not thinking they are accessible though as there were steps going in the two doors we used.

One of our favorite stops had closed due to seasonal hours, so we decided to hit some other locals places. We were thrilled when we found the Fisherman's Catch last year and decided to go back again this year. We were seated right away and served not too long after. The staff is friendly and attentive. The upscale shack-like atmosphere is on point. We love their lobster paper towel holders that are suspended from the ceiling. I can say that the seating inside is comfortable but I have not been able to try the outdoor seating. So far we have tried the scallops, clam strips, fish sandwich, clam chowder, the fries, the coleslaw, and I'm sure I've forgotten something else. We have been very pleased with everything. When visiting in-season, it's best to get to the restaurant before 5pm. Parking fills up and the line can get long. In late October or early November it is much easier to get a table. Our server Benjamin was excellent. We started with 10 Maine oysters which were well shucked and ice cold. They were sweet and delicious + added two raw clams. Each oyster was labeled with cute wood sticks. Love the Maine oyster names. The Maine course was lobster risotto with balsamic drizzle. The rice was perfectly cooked with good deep flavor. The disappointment was the less than 2 Oz - 1/2 lobster tail sitting on top. It was tender, but a little more lobster pieces in this almost $40 dish of creamy Arborio rice would have been nice. The balsamic drizzle was a great taste touch. Lobster roll - nice presentation and tender lobster on the warm under-buttered hot dog roll - but not enough lobster. Decent fries and small cold slaw. Good flavor but sides should not be an extra charge. Blueberry pie - good but not as good as the nearby Ogunquit restaurant competition. Will return in year 3 - hopefully for a five star shout out.
