Everything is wonderful here the service the food the atmosphere. We go back every year when we're on vacation in Maine.

We ate at At Bonissoni Brazilian Steakhouse in Ogunquit, ME, and I honestly don't know what was better--the food or the service. The place itself looks fantastic, with crisp linen tablecloths and warm table lamps that give it a classy, cozy feel as soon as you sit down. Every piece of meat was cooked perfectly, from the first slice to the last, and the variety was incredible. The staff kept checking on us just enough to make sure we had everything we wanted, but never in an annoying or pushy way. You're given cards with "yes" on one side and "no" on the other, so you can control when they offer you more food. With the "yes" side up, the servers bring you a steady stream of delicious meats; flip it to "no" when you need a break. I ate way too much, too fast, simply because everything was so good. We already can't wait to go back. Ogunquit has a lot of great places to eat, but make sure you try this one--At Bonissoni Brazilian Steakhouse should absolutely be on your list. What is your Friday night for dinner with our family? We had a six-year-old with us. There was absolutely nothing on that menu that she could order. She would not eat adult food and nothing was offered for children. No chicken nuggets no plain pasta. Nothing she got a chocolate milk. The rest of the dinner was great. My only request would be to get some other appetizers. I know it's a Brazilian restaurant, but not everybody eats polenta, yuca, or fried plantain , brazillion beans, feijoada or anything to that effect. I think they should have a few other American things on there besides broccoli and asparagus, carrots would be nice, maybe some stuffed mushrooms., street corn. The honey cheese we tried we tried the honey cheese was not that great. I do have to say probably the best thing is the pineapple.. there should be other options for salads. We have been to Brazilian restaurants down in Cape Cod with huge buffet salad bars with cheese all kinds of other options. Besides, just meet on a spit., it was mac & cheese. There was all kinds of different salads and fruits. I think if you added more of these things or had an area where you could set up some of these things and people could help themselves I think you would have a lot more people in this restaurant. Only Brazillian steakhouse in Maine. Saw article they had Thanksgiving so it reminded me to check it out. We went the day after Thanksgiving. It was not super busy but the meats still came in a timely manner we never felt we were waiting a long time. They first bring you Brazilian cheese bread and these yummy beef patties. The sides were yummy my fave were the beans and rice- the beans were so flavorful with large chunks of meat and the Polenta "fries". I'm a grits lover so loved those. Salads were nice too. You just have to save room for all of the yummy meats. We told them we like rare and they could definitely accommodate. Definitely get the tomato vinaigrette side its yummy with the beef patty and meats. Save room at the end when they bring this special Brazilian cheese drizzled with honey and the grilled pineapple with cinnamon. There is a parking lot behind the restaurant across from police/fire station. Off season its free. They are open year round but I think starting in January they may have a few closed days. You can get reservations on yelp. Also maybe in off season they have a Wednesday $39 special. They had some yummy looking cocktails and also serve some famous Brazilian soda. read more

We visit Ogunquit a few times each year and had heard good things about Bonissoni. Our meal here was ok, but if you have been to other Brazilian Steakhouses, you might feel the same way we did - it was fine, but not really a standout. We had a reservation and were seated immediately. Our server explained that we could choose sides off of the menu, and that they recommend 2-3 sides. We chose polenta fries, yucca flour with bacon, mashed potatoes, and Cesar Salad. The salad and mashed potatoes were very good, the yucca flour never arrived - lukewarm yucca fries arrived instead, and the polenta fries were cold and not very crisp. It took awhile for the meat servers to come to us, but we enjoyed the breads while waiting. As is typical in Brazilian restaurants, the meats are the star of the show. We enjoyed ribeye, sirloin, garlic steak, and my favorite was the beef rib. My husband also liked the salmon, and we passed on the pork and bacon wrapped chicken although they both looked good. I felt that even with the red/green table card system, the meat service took too long, and we often had to signal to get the servers' attention even though our cards were turned to green. The same was true for refills of sides and water. It was very late in the meal before additional sides were offered, even though our side dishes were empty for quite awhile, and my husband's empty water glass was never refilled. We were at Bonissoni for about 1.5 hours and hadn't yet been offered the grilled pineapple that other people mentioned. I thought that maybe it wasn't part of the menu any more, but when we asked for our check, our server asked if we had tried the pineapple, and when we expressed interest in it, it arrived shortly afterwards and was delicious. We never saw cheese with honey, so maybe that item is no longer offered. The positives of Bonissoni were the tender and flavorful meats, and the pleasant dining room. The downsides were the cold sides, the length of time it took for meat service, and the lackluster service in general. I was curious about Bonissoni, but having now tried it, it is unlikely that I'll go back and I have had much better experiences at other Brazilian steakhouses. read more

Greeted immediately and warmly upon arrival the restaurant is very clean, stylish and inviting. Our waitress Paula was superb, very friendly and informative and was always right there without hovering. The food was delicious, the meats were so fresh and cooked well and not salty as most Brazilian steak houses are. I would've preferred more cheese bread, but that's on me for not asking. I found this place way overpriced for the quality of food. While some of the meats were good, others were heavily salt seasoned and the chicken was quite dry. The sides (fried polenta) was dry and almost seemed as if it had been reheated multiple times to get to that texture The service was good, and we were frequently offered more meat choices But overall just did not enjoy this place. read more

The food was great, once the meat started circulating it was non stop but also awesome. The bread they gave us at first was phenomenal- I've never had Brazilian breads before. So tasty. As for the sides we got the caesar salad, the arugula, crispy polenta (not my favorite) and the yuca flour toasted with bacon and some vinaigrette that came with it. That was honestly the star of the show - you ate it mixed together on the meat. Chefs kiss. We also had a handful of the meat selections with my top two being the cheese steak and the chicken. Both were tender, juicy, and had great flavor. The service was great - our server was nice but she did seem to come over a lot towards the end - it wasn't super busy so it might have been because we were her only table. Idk. We said we were busy talking and thought she would take the hint but it's all good. She was super nice so it didn't matter. The restaurant itself was clean, pretty, and everyone was friendly. They had great music playing - it sounded like a concert or like someone was playing there live. I enjoyed it. Great spot and an excellent meal. It's hard to pace yourself to get your money's worth ($60 pp) so go slow because it is all incredibly delicious. Favorites of mine tonight were chicken hearts, roasted salmon, rib eye and the pineapple. The pineapple alone is worth the trip. Setting is elegant but casual, the staff is friendly and attentive and the food keeps coming until you beg them to stop. Special occasion coming up? We enjoyed our experience at Bonissoni - a snowy night that was surprisingly busy! Great service, drinks (Italian Margarita so good!) the sides were great (especially the polenta) as were all of the meats served table side. Wow! I was impressed start to finish! This was our first time at a Brazilian Steak House. The food was incredible! The lamb was hands down my favorite, my husband enjoyed the bone in prime rib. The service was alright. The waitress spilled one of our drinks setting it in the table (accidents happen) they cleaned it up quickly & it only spilled on the table thank goodness! I asked for a drink menu & she forgot to come back and see what I wanted to order. The restaurant was beautiful, the decor was lovely & it was clean. Overall it was a great experience! read more

This meal experience was priceless because my 10-year old actually ate and LOVED a bunch of new protein options. I took photos to document the occasion of him blissed out while eating beef. I had pre-fed him and bought him a strawberry banana smoothie at the restaurant to fill him up, figuring he'd only eat the french fries. Never been so happy to be wrong. We both loved the prime cut steak above all, amazing texture and flavor. We also tried the sausage, lamb, chicken, some other steak and had to pass on so many other offerings because we were full. For sides, I particularly enjoyed the hearts of palm salad w/arugula and LOVED the yuca fries & sweet plantains. Ironically, the one thing that didn't get eaten were the French fries I ordered for him! Service was attentive and kind, and the restaurant was popular & felt festive, without being too noisy or packed. I liked that the tables didn't feel like they were too close. We had a reservation for 5:45 pm, so I don't know if this is true at 7 pm as well. It was a unique experience-so glad they were open in Thanksgiving, making such a lovely memory. read more

Nice, modern building and decor. Parking available in the public lot right next door. All staff were Brazilian and very nice. The Rodizio servers came around frequently. The meats included sirloins, garlic beef, turkey, chicken and chicken hearts. Everything was well seasoned. You get to order sides from a special checklist and these do not cost extra. The Rodizio price is $59.99pp which seems about right. We shared a flan for dessert and it was yummy. Service was a bit spotty at times. I would definately return. We went on Christmas day, very few places were open. read more

We love rodizio, and this is one of the better ones. The only other rodizio in Maine was gaucho's in Portland, which is been closed for more than 10 years now. Glad that the one we do have is a good one! The food, service and ambience were all top-notch. read more

Good atmosphere, excellent food and although the prices are a bit high the quality of the food is definitely worth paying at those prices. The staff is super friendly and make your experience even better. All staff are attending and fun. The drinks are on point and they offer a great selection of sides to choose from and the quantity of meat being served was more than ample. Meats were served fast at first and I was able to fill up my plate. The wait times could be 15 minutes before the next meat came by again. I wasn't a fan of the lamb as it was over cooked, but everything else was packed with flavor. They did ask us if we were celebrating anything in particular. Although we did mention a birthday celebration, the staff did not go out of their way to recognize the celebration. It's a nice, somewhat minimalistic, place with very pleasant servers. A slightly unpleasant annoyance was that we had a small swarm of fruit flies flying around us. There is only one thing on the menu - all you strozzapreti eat meat and some sides. This is NOT a place for vegetarians or vegans! The sides were pretty good but the star was of course the meats - they come around with different cuts of beef, pork and chicken and you can then decide if you want it or not. They did also come around with some salmon but fish does not lend itself to this kind of service at was very dry. The other meats were mostly very good but some were just a bit more salty than I prefer. I thought the best was -surprisingly- the chicken hearts. They were very tender and tasty. For anyone who might be put off by eating g hearts I really urge you to try them! I think it was fun to try but I'm not quite sure I find it worth the $60. read more

I had reserved a private room for my sister bday dinner they did amazing and The food was great the service was great.

This was our first time visiting this local Brazilian Steakhouse ("BSH"), and we attended with friends from out of town. The host and servers were polite and cordial. The restaurant ambience is average, considering it is in a former "breakfast diner" type of setting. Unlike many BSHs, there is no salad bar, but they serve you various (and as much as you want) salad and vegetable items off a menu. While it may be more sanitary, it is far more limited than a typical BSH salad bar. The cheese bread (Pao de Queijo) was good, but not outstanding. While the servers (gauchos) were all very polite, the meat was ok, not above average. We found we had to keep asking for specific meats. The best item served was the grilled pineapple, and we did not have desserts. The consensus from the group was that the meal was below average for a Brazilian Steakhouse, but, unfortunately, at regular or normal BSH prices. While I was hopeful about finding a nice BSH in the area, this one fell short of my expectations, and I will likely not visit again. Love this place. Not very crowded, at least the times I've been there. Decent service, great food. The environment is good for dates whether it's your first or your hundredth. Nice bathrooms.
