New in town and currently only serving rodizio dinner, this is a nice change of pace for local restaurants. It is expensive, but basically it's a bunch of sides and all you want + a delicious selection of meats on a skewer for your munching pleasure. I tried not to let the sides tempt me too much, but they had a good bread basket, interesting sides like fried polenta and plantains and solid tasty dishes of rice, beans, arugula, tomato/mozzarella, fries, etc. You can get as many types and refills as you want. The meat selection started very beef heavy, but nice crispy salty pieces. Tip: if you want more medium/medium rare, just ask. They started off defaulting to well-done, but we asked and a better temperature came out. Hopefully in the future they ask preferred temp before bring around (I've had other places do this.) Top sirloin and ribeye were amazing! The chicken wings and lamb and pork ribs/sausage rounded out the meet selection, and although I overall before beef, these were all great for variety. Once you're getting full, request specific meats from your waiter instead of turning down. As a final touch, there is sliced cinnamoned pineapple. I would have preferred a clean plate for this, but it was a great way to end a super delicious, filling meal. Only come when full, and sitting outside gives a nice street ambiance. Service was great. Everything about this place was awesome. Our waitress was so attentive, constantly made sure we had what we wanted and if there was anything we wanted to try. The food was phenomenal. I've been to a few of the bigger chains for Brazilian Steakhouses but this one felt much cleaner, tastier, and just better. All of the meat was melt in your mouth delicious, well seasoned, and the SIDES were incredible! Some of the best mashed potatoes and polenta fries I've ever had. It was delicious and well worth the price. I will definitely add this into the date night rotation! So awesome. read more

Bonissoni is our favorite Ogunquit restaurant - so much that we make a point to visit twice on our yearly week in town! The food is always delicious and the service is attentive and friendly. The restaurant is different from most American restaurants in that we never feel rushed to turn over the table to the next guests. When you sit down at Bonissoni, the table is yours for the evening. And let me bring this review back to the food. The FOOD! I don't eat beef, which may seem odd for someone like me to visit a Brazilian STEAKhouse, but the other options (chicken, pork, lamb, and endless veggies and carbs) are simply that good. The other members of my party love beef, and rave about the quality and selection of the many cuts offered. We have eaten at a well-known other Brazilian steakhouse chain, and I promise you that Bonissoni is infinitely better in ambiance, quality of food and service. I would go 4.5 stars here, first time dining like this. It's all you can eat, you order sides first and then the meats come out on skewers and are cut at your table. It's a nice, somewhat minimalistic, place with very pleasant servers. A slightly unpleasant annoyance was that we had a small swarm of fruit flies flying around us. There is only one thing on the menu - all you strozzapreti eat meat and some sides. This is NOT a place for vegetarians or vegans! The sides were pretty good but the star was of course the meats - they come around with different cuts of beef, pork and chicken and you can then decide if you want it or not. They did also come around with some salmon but fish does not lend itself to this kind of service at was very dry. The other meats were mostly very good but some were just a bit more salty than I prefer. I thought the best was -surprisingly- the chicken hearts. They were very tender and tasty. For anyone who might be put off by eating g hearts I really urge you to try them! I think it was fun to try but I'm not quite sure I find it worth the $60. read more

I went last night with my wife. The steaks were great and the sausages, however the bacon wrap chicken was dry and under flavored, the pork loin was tough and mayb was reheated too much or the holding temperature was too hot for that delicate cut of meat and was also under flavored,the wings didn't have much flavor either, overall all the meats except the steaks needed to be marinated better. I order collard greens with garlic it was very good so i did a re oder when the re order came the garlic was burnt this time hence it was bitter i tried telling the server but she doesn't speak good english so she was never able to understand what my issue was i re ordered a potato salad i got mash potato instead that tasted like instant powdered mash not real potato didn't bother to bring it to the server attention cause it was hard communicating with her. Having a good english speaker on the floor would be awesome as well. Personally didn't feel i got my moneys worth. Caprihina was awesome and that sliced pineapple soo refreshing. read more

Beautiful, romantic setting. My husband and I came here a couple of years ago and were excited to come back. We started our meal with drinks.. a screwdriver and a caipirinha (traditional Brazilian drink). The screwdriver was good, and the caipirinha was ok.. felt a bit sweeter than we are used to. We tried a bunch of side dishes...arugula, caprese, rice, beans, asparagus, fried yuca, plantains, and fried polenta. I recommended ordering a bunch of sides throughout the meal so you can try new things. The serving size is manageable... similar to tapas. Our favorite sides were the polenta - delicious and creamy - and the plantains. The arugula was a but bland, I kept using the vinegar from the caprese to dress it more. The meats brought to the table were good, and there was enough variety for everyone. We were offered multiple cuts of beef, sausage, pork, chicken, and grilled pineapple. Some of the beef cuts were a bit fatty, and we wished there were more Filet options. During our meal, I noticed a server needed to ask two guests to get up from their meal so he could grab a bittle of wine from the cabinet behind them. That seemed strange. Why not have the table set up a bit farther away from the cabinet? It seemed like there would be enough space, so you dont.need to disturb guests. Our initial service was very slow it took about 15 -20 min after we were sat for us to be addressed by our server. For such an intimate place that seemed strange. Thankfully, we were not in a hurry, so we could go with it. We will go back next time we are in town. read more

I feel like everyone should experience a Brazilian steakhouse at some point and I think it's really cool that this area has one... There was no doubt in the quality of the food. It was delicious. I also agree with the value for the/unlimited sides... However, I don't agree with, not having an à la cart option or menu. I'm a very light eater so it seemed like a big waste to get the full package versus an entrée. A lot of money was wasted as there was about three out of six that felt the same way so if you're hungry and looking for good value with a great food and great ambience, this is your spot. If you're a light there don't bother. I also did not care much for our server. I thought she was kind of rude and didn't really answer our questions... Ambiance: This is an expensive experience. So I was expecting the restaurant to cater to their clients. When we arrived there were a few tables with adult customers. Then a family of 7-8 with at least 3 children under the age of 3 arrived. One, in particular, kept knocking plates off of the table; sending them crashing to the floor. Yet no one from the restaurant staff said anything to them. The baby in the group kept crying and again nothing was said. Kind of hard to enjoy your meal with all of the ruckus! Food: It started off fine with the sides that we ordered. However, after they were delivered to the table, no meats followed for 10-15 minutes! Finally they began to arrive, slowly. It seems they wait to start cooking for some reason. We tried each of the offerings as they were presented, not once but twice hoping the next one would be better! Unfortunately, the only truly edible meat was the lamb! Everything else was tough!! Either the quality of the meat, which they claim is "Prime" (the manager told me this as I complained about the quality) or the preparation/cooking was bad! Neither my wife nor myself could eat most of what was served as "Prime"!! Service: What a travesty! Our waitress was pleasant enough, just not competent! Once the meal started coming, she was nowhere to be found. When she finally stopped by to refill my ice tea, she asked if there were any specific cuts of meat that we wanted. We gave her two, chicken hearts (me) and ribs (both of us). The hearts never arrived. The ribs finally did. The only problem was they were not edible! I.e. the meat was so tough, you couldn't chew it, if you were successful cutting it!! I spotted our waitress and called her over at this point and asked to speak to the manager. The manager was a young woman, not an experienced manager. She insisted that all of their meats are "Prime" and they know how to cook them!! After an elongated discussion I offered to split the bill but she refused. Since there was no counter offer I asked for the check. When it arrived I found that it contained a tip for $18.50 that I had not authorized! When I asked the waitress, she said her manager puts an automatic tip on the check, this was for a party of two!! I asked to have it removed. A good 15 minutes went by while they tried to figure out what to do. Eventually the revised check arrived with a reduced kitchen sales gratuity of $3.60. The total charges were $143.98!! No, we don't recommend you waste your hard earned money on this restaurant!! read more

The food and service was amazing! Everything tastes good, the meats came out warm, and even the sides were as stellar as the food! We felt a little underdressed when we stepped in from being on the beach and being sweaty from a hot day, as the restaurant has a very nice vibe, very fancy. But it was so good! A little pricey, but restaurants like this tend to be, especially in downtown ogunquit. So fun for the Fourth of July, we will definitely be back! What a delightful evening we had at Bonissoni Brazilian Steak House. The owner is one of the most charming people you will meet. Our waitress Stephanie was the owners 15 year old daughter and was delightful as well. Then the food. The pre fixe meal was everything you would want, the meats were all cooked perfect - we like medium rare/rare and one of our table likes more well done - they accommodated. The sides that you have to choose from were plentiful and a nice variety. Make sure you try the Bonissoni wine which is from Italy, ask the owner and you will have a real education and see she has a real depth of knowledge about wine. We purchased 2 bottles to take with us. The atmosphere was excellent, not noisy at all. I wish I could rate at 4.5, considering they have only been open a week, it was a real memorable evening. read more

To start she explained the how to ( one person in the group had never been) she explained the side selections. We picked and then the meat started to arrive. I wasn't very impressed with my experience and I am not motivated to return. It wasn't terrible, but not as good as I was expecting for the price. The ambiance is pleasant enough. The dining room is clean and elegant. And the waitstaff were friendly and attentive. One gripe is that when we asked for water we weren't given the option of tap or bottled and they just brought a bottle. The food sadly was underwhelming. The sides were better than the meats surprisingly. We were served several sides we did not order, which made us a bit nervous that we would violate the food waste policy and be charged. But that didn't happen. But the protein is supposed to be the star. The proteins were slow to come out, which would have been fine if they were delicious. But they were not. Several of them were very tough and not of the quality I experienced at other Brazilian steakhouses. The pork and the lamb were extremely over cooked and dry. Many of the meats were excessively seasoned and very salty. A few of them were ok and the meal was not ruined. Really tremendous. Perfect service, ultra clean and amazing food. I like this place. All the meat courses were delish. The chicken was served so hot, what a treat, grill to table, zip fast. Towards the end of the meal a pineapple was served same as the meats, sliced off a stick. It had been peeled, rolled in cinnamon and grilled, hot char. Very refreshing.
