We got married here 15 years ago when it was Pier 77 and came back for dinner. We could not have been happier! Our server, Sherrie, was fantastic! When we arrived, they had champagne and a congratulations card waiting for us. They had us seated next to the window -- the view and atmosphere is to die for. Our food was all terrific! They also had a great combination of wines and cocktails. Absolutely my favorite restaurant in Maine -- and we will be back!

Stopped by for a drink and small bite in the bar. Reservations are recommended even for the bar. We were seated quickly and the restaurant has a lovely view and lovely ambience. The bartender, Jared, was friendly and made a delicious spicy margarita. We had lobster chowder, the chopped salad, and the sourdough bread. I loved the salad with lots of pickled veggies and a good dressing. My husband also enjoyed the chowder. The toasted bread and butter was a nice compliment to our order. We were pleased with the food and service. Next time we will try some other options.

Wow, were do I start. I have been going to this restaurant for the last two years. I have always been pleased, but not this time. First parking is a big problem. I park in front of the restaurant and was told to move. There are no signs to not park in front of restaurant. Second problem is the table next to us had two small dogs. The dogs were on the bench and were being fed at the table. GROSS...Third issues is the waitress ask my brother in law if he ever smiles. What an insult. I asked her what was to cost of MP scallops and she did not know. Food is very limited and average. I have not notice it in the past but it was very cold in restaurant. I heard others complaining and manger said some people think it is cold and others think it too hot. Great answer?

Came her last night for a date night with my husband. We wanted something elevated and with alot of seafood options. We originally tried to go to Lost Fire but when there were no reservations available, we decided to test out UltraMar. We were seated at 7pm and didn't recieve any food (even bread) until 7:45. Service is definitely slow but the food more than made up for it. I got a delicious Cosmo to drink and we shared the seafood tower for 2 (the ceviche was to DIE for.. I could drink the sauce), a lobster bisque, crispy brussels, swordfish skewers and the smoked potatoes. Every single thing we ate was sooo amazing. Would definitely return for the food and vibe alone. Just don't come looking for a quick meal.

Bouillabaisse loaded with seafood. So good!

We got the VIP treatment for our Anniversary Dinner. Our waitress was fantastic and the food was outstanding. We had a seat overlooking the area where we got married and the water.

Visited Ultra Mar for the first time while visiting Kinnebunkport. Loved the decor, service and location but thought the food a little underwhelming. It was good but nothing really stood out for me. Maybe it was just an off night. I guess for the price point I had much higher expectations. I will say the salmon was very fresh and my favorite of the three dishes we tried.

Disregard the lower ratings! We went to Kennebunkport-York-Ogunquit for a week and this was far and above the best meal we had the whole vacation. The ambiance is elegant and yet laid-back. Our server, Kristen, was polished, incredible and knew the menu inside and out. We tried their autumn special cocktails and were delighted with the date margaritas and the pear gin and tonic. I judge a bar by how they make their dirty martini and mine was perfect! They of course had delicious fresh oysters that were well-shucked and cleaned. The clam chowder was the best we had the entire week. I would travel again just for a bowl of it! Everything was cooked to perfection- I had the scallops and my partner had the branzino, which could not be hyped up enough. The skin was crispy and the flesh was tender and flaky. They also have sauce pairings which elevate each dish. Get the roasted potatoes if you can, and if you like horseradish! Definitely order dessert! 5 stars is not enough for the experience we had. Thank you, Ultramar!

I will be thinking about this meal for a long time. From start to finish, everything was fantastic. The surprise star was the (not pictured) scallop ceviche which was one of the lightest, freshest ceviches I've ever had. Being in Maine, I opted for the lobster spaghetti for my entree and oh my goodness. The presentation was a fun added touch and the amount of lobster in this dish was truly impressive. Somehow our table of four saved room for the chocolate soufflé and all I can say is it was worth it. Sharing it with a group was the perfect way to get a sweet bite (or three) to finish the meal.

Beautiful spot to grab a drink or dinner and watch the sunset. I'm so glad this place re-opened and I can't wait to come back and try more of the dishes.

A delicious evening at this new restaurant with my in-laws! Atmosphere: swanky, but approachable vibes. Awesome views of the water. Great ambiance all around. Great modern decor. Loved the jazz music playing in the evening! Food: all of our dishes were delicious! We got the chicken, seafood paella, the whole fish, and a few veggie apps for the vegetarians in our group. Plenty of gluten free options for me (yayyyy!), but would recommend adding a vegetarian main dish for those who can't eat meat or seafood. Highly recommend checking out this awesome new Cape Porpoise restaurant in Kennebunkport!

Restaurant is beautiful and view from dining room is stunning. Had a party of 7 with a reservation. We were seated right on time. Waiter service was rather slow. We were seated for quite a while before our drink order was taken, then another long wait for drinks to arrive. Food was delicious but portions were small. Started off by sharing the Avocado Salad with my spouse. It was 8 leaves of Bibb lettuce, half an avocado, and some crispy prosciutto for $17. Definite not worth the price. Ordered the scallops for my main which comes with one sauce and one side (pictured). Four scallops in the dinner serving and it cost $42. I don't mind paying more for a place with a great location and ambiance, however, I did not feel like the portions were worth the price. Others in my group shared this opinion. I really wanted to love this restaurant, but left disappointed.

Head bartender Chris has a creative list of cocktails and I'm sure could mix up anything else you might desire. We tried several small and large plates. Really hard to call out a favorite as they were all good. The Parsnip soup was creamy, rich and delicious with several touches such as crisped rice and basil oil on top that really made this a standout. Beet tartare was great as well with rich delicious beet flavor and texture reminiscent of beef tartare. Don't miss the cornbread with pork belly butter! The staff were super understanding and showed my husband a private corner near the entrance where he could change our baby's diaper. They also were very chill about me taking an extra moment to feed our baby. It was truly the best (and most scenic) place to regroup and take an hour to get a snack and care for the baby. We ended up ordering oysters and a poke bowl. The oysters were super tasty and fresh. The poke bowl was loaded with fish and veggies, but the rice was obviously a day old and was a bit hard and clumpy. The sauce on the poke bowl was also a bit salty. I ordered an Aperol spritz, which was perfect and complimented the sunny beach vibes well.

It's your typical, upscale American cuisine, with a tiny portion of the menu dedicated to Asian-fusion esque food. I came up on a day trip so I was satisfied with my general go-to dish when coming to restaurants like this, which is a fish sandwich or fish n'chips. We also got an order of crab cakes because I wanted to eat something that was locally sourced and well, it was fine. Again, I wasn't blown away, but I wasn't offended by it either. Are there probably better restaurants in the area that has better food for your buck? Most definitely. Is this a bit of tourist trap that actually has decent food? Absolutely.
