Summary- overall fine breakfast, but some oddities knocked it down. Food- 3 stars Avocado toast was really good, the French toast was very standard and perfectly fine. Corned beef hash was just odd... hash is literally from the French word for "to chop", but the corned beef came out in large semi shredded strips and the potatoes were quite large..... this wasn't hash. The flavor was fine, but it just wasn't hash. Drinks- 4 stars Iced coffee was solid. Service- 3 stars Generally pretty good but not outstanding. Atmosphere- 2 stars Nice outside space but we had a table that was super super wobbly... not because it was on a bad surface but literally because it needed to be replaced or fixed... unacceptable and annoying throughout the meal. Food was ok and service was incredibly slow. We got the breakfast platter and a short rib sandwich. About 10 mins after ordering they came back to tell us they were out. They brought another menu and didn't return for a while to take the reorder. The plank was ok the pastry was dry and the potato's were hard. The burger was good. Very greasy. We asked for our bill knowing it would be a while till they came and they never came back for the bill. I had to flag down another server to run our card. We sat outside and the environment was cute and I loved their cups. We were 1 of 2 tables outside and the bar areas wasn't full. Not sure how the dining room looked. read more

Lovely restaurant open for brunch all year around! I loved my egg whites scrambled eggs ; the Asiago cheese was an unexpected addition to the eggs. I didn't care much for the house potatoes that accompanied the plate, but ... oh well! My partner had the omelette, well done and very meaty! And, gosh, coffee! The largest coffee cups I've seen at a restaurant - a great way to start the day. Service was great and the outside patio quite nice. So, sit under an umbrella and enjoy your brunch! read more

We stumbled into this restaurant when we realized that nearly everything else in the area was closed on a Monday in November (for breakfast foods). We were the only diners for a little while which was nice, because it was quiet. I can see it getting loud in the small space quickly but that it's also proably very fun to go there with friends and sit at the cute bar or on the patio. Food and service were excellent. Parking was clearly labeled so we didn't take a spot from someone staying overnight. It seemed a bit more classy than I was expecting (white table cloths, etc) but they made us feel welcome in our vacation clothes anyway:) We would go back, though perhaps not in the busiest part of their season. This place was a disaster. We went for brunch today and we're seated in an auxiliary dining room. It took 15 minutes to just get a cup of coffee, at which point they gave our creamer to another table and then we waited even longer. We ultimately asked the table near us if we could borrow theirs. We ordered a simple breakfast, which after waiting for 40 minutes still hadn't come. The service was horrible and unapologetic for the extremely long wait. Restaurant and grounds were beautiful and quaint. Went in for breakfast today with my husband. Server was very nice, but it took 1 hour and 10 minutes from ordering to actually getting our food. We almost walked out at one point. Food was just ok. I did use the restroom prior to leaving and although it was decorated beautifully, it was a mess. The trash was overflowing all over the floor. Such a shame, as I do think it could be a great spot. read more

Cute bar, breakfast menu was really nice. It's a bit expensive for breakfast but it's definitely of a nicer quality than a greasy spoon. Only thing I would say is that it's not kid friendly. They were nice and fine that there was a toddler with us, but it's small so there's not really room for high chairs and it just didn't seem very welcoming to families. I would say it's more of a spot for drinks with adult friends, more of a bar atmosphere. Having been, I'd call it a cocktail bar with food instead of a restaurant. read more

I ordered the andouille sausage omelette. It was definitely on the spicy side. Good portions. Very filling. My BFF ordered the breakfast charcuterie. Fun!! A good portion of scrambled eggs, a sausage link and bacon. It was national blueberry day and it came with a blueberry pancake. Delicious!!! Hubs ordered the Mainah. It was a smaller portion but was a standard option. Our server Mara was friendly and helpful. The staff seemed to be working out a few kinks, but it didn't hinder our experience. What a beautiful New England eatery. We were outdoors and weather was perfect. Service was perfect not pushy and not absent sort of the perfect mix. I had the Avocado Toast and my wife had the Eggs Benedict with Lobster of course.. When in Maine!! Perkins Cove Kitchen (PCK) opened up in the former Il Covo at the Hartwell House in Ogunquit. They serve brunch (Sat-Mon) and dinner (Fri-Sat) in a cozy modern setting. The place was redone including the bar counter with mirror tile wall, new lighting fixtures, new chairs, flooring updated, new decor and repainted walls. There is also outside patio seating in front. The bar offers 4 beers on tap, wine, and cocktails. I stopped by for brunch recently and sat up at the bar. I requested water and ordered the Corned Beef Hash ($19 plus tax) with 2 eggs, home fries and toast. My entree on a big square plate arrived promptly. The 2 scrambled eggs were soft and fluffy. The corned beef hash was merely grilled corned beef brisket (very salty) over seasoned home fries. The buttered raisin toast was a good choice. The portion of food was generous and I got a togo box for half the food. The check for one was $20.52 with tax and before tip. Overall, I enjoyed a very filling brunch. The couple sitting next to me at the bar were really enjoying their crab cake benedict and bloody mary drinks. The service here was courteous and prompt. I will have to stop here again for dinner. read more

Attention to detail is visible: ceramic mugs, brass-color cutlery, lovely decor, and pretty bar display. Bathrooms are clean, and quaint. Prices comparable for Ogunquit. The bar seats are comfortable, and they have lovely outdoor seating. (Heaters for the fall, and winter) Looked at the dinner menu and we'll be back to try dinner, too. service was HORRIFIC. We were sat without napkins/place settings. Waitress did not acknowledge us for at least 15 minutes after being seated. Finally ordered, food came, still no silverware/napkins. Eventually we were brought silverware. All napkins were dirty, so once they had more we were handed a wad of 6 unfolded napkins. Upon opening them, multiple had stains (gross). Food was fine, nothing to write home about. The waitress couldn't figure out how to split the check 3 ways. Won't be back and won't recommend. read more

We had dinner there last evening. Seated promptly by Jessica- a very exuberant individual, and attentive. My meal: Garden salad-balsamic dressing. Good. Entree: the best filet minion ever- cut it with a table knife-great with the horseradish. Brings the caveman in me right to the surface. My wife had the salmon. Again, she was quite pleased. As Gordon would say: 'cooked perfectly' my dear! Setting: indoor & outdoor seating. We had same table as last year-inside. As we were finishing the chef stopped by & we had a brief chat. We dined at PCK over MDW weekend. We loved sitting outside on the patio (the seat cushions were impressively comfortable for outdoor patio furniture). There was a pizza special which was by far our favorite (we ordered 5 pies for the table!) amazing doughy crust and great quality cheese. The mussels were a close runner up! Very generous portion size and great flavor. The crab cake isn't served with tartar sauce or cocktail sauce so just a tip for others, it comes with a beet slaw instead. While there wasn't a kids menu at dinner, our kids (and adults alike) loved the dinner rolls & honey butter. They also provided a high chair for our toddler! read more

Breakfast with bad coffee, no half and half or cream and limited tea selection wasn't a great start. Veggie frittata had too many competing veggies (spinach, asparagus, scallions and pea pods). Fried green tomato sandwich with bacon was made with seemingly previously frozen fried green tomatoes- they were mushy, thin sliced, and sparsely battered. Not very good. Corn bread was good. Service was slow and a little sullen. Patio was nice, shade was appreciated and parking is easy in the back. read more

We have eaten at Perkins Cove Kitchen several times in the past few years when visiting Ogunquit both in the summer and in the fall. When traveling with my family and my parents last year, my mother cited it as her favorite meal over the whole weekend. This is what makes this next part so very difficult. As a former line cook and private chef, I have been in the food industry for the better part of three decades. I know how difficult the industry can be. I know there are off nights. It happens. But this was something else. We ate here on a Saturday night over Columbus Day weekend. It was one of the worst meals that I have had in a very long time. It was so frustrating to have one of our favorite places in Ogunquit be so spectacularly terrible. The place was full of people and had a great vibe. It is one thing to have a terrible meal, it is another to pay so much money for such a horrific experience. Each member of our party ordered appetizers and entrees. My father orders oysters, and they arrived LONG before any of the other appetizers did. My wife and I both ordered the soup special. It tasted pretty good, but it came out at room temperature. We told the waitress, and she took them back into the kitchen. If I had to guess, they probably just put them in a microwave for 30 seconds and then then brought them back out to us. The bottom of the bowls were now very hot, but the actual soup was still lukewarm, at best. My son had the meatball appetizer, which he loved. The waitress also brought out my crab cakes . . . they were room temperature and served on a bed of mixed greens. There was pink liquid all over the plate and on the edges. Underneath the cab cakes was a "slaw" of some kind made with either red cabbage or raw red beets. It was terrible and the plate looked like a child had been tossing the items with no regard for actual presentation. My mother ordered the "fall" Caesar salad. Appetizers were cleared, and then suddenly my son's Mac and cheese was delivered to the table. It looked like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for a long time . . . the top layer of pasta was dried out and when we mixed it from the bottom of the bowl there was sauce. It was not like anything that anyone would recognize as Mac and cheese. It was more like pasta with way too much black pepper and not enough béchamel. It was utterly terrible. Unfortunately, my mother also ordered the Mac and cheese. She ate one bite and gave up. We waited a very long time until the rest of the meals were served. The inability of the kitchen to actually time out the meal was what you would expect from an opening night with a staff who had never worked together, not a top flight restaurant in a vacation town. And then came the salads that my wife and I ordered for our entrees. She had the fall salad . . . there was a fistful of smoked gouda (or some other cheese like that) that was just dropped on the plate. She left the pile on the side after eating around it. I ordered the "beet and pear tower" . . . I cannot imagine how someone put this dish together and thought it was a good idea. It was the same "bed" of greens that came with the crab cake, and there was a five or six inch tall stack of sliced beets and pear with a skewer driven through the middle of it. There was also a handful of walnuts that had been roasted with some kind of cinnamon/sugar dusting. I tried to cut into the tower and my knife would not cut through the first slice of beet or the pear slices. I pulled out the skewer to separate it and take a second shot . . . the top beet slice was almost raw and crunchy. The pear slice was a cross section of the pear that still had the core with seeds in the middle, and it was so unripe that it was like eating a slice of wood with little to no actual pear flavor. No dressing at all on the "salad". Why not pair a little goat cheese with your beet salad? That has been a classic for decades. The crowning touch was the "grilled" shrimp that I added to my salad for $12. There were three shrimp. I would guess the they 26-30 or 31-40 sized shrimp. They had no color on them at all, and had more of the texture of poorly poached shrimp than anything else. I left my plate mostly untouched. When the waitress asked it I wanted it boxed up I said, "No thanks." A few minutes later the chef came out and made the rounds of the tables to ask how the meals were . . . If a waitress brings back an entire salad that was untouched, you already know the answer. We were all horrified by the experience here. My parents are in their mid-80's. We have been coming to Ogunquit for forty-five years together. What a lost opportunity to have a great moment with them. How many more will we have left? I love restaurants like no other place. This experiences left me filled with sadness and frustration. After we dropped my parents off at the hotel, my son and I went to Cornerstone and had pizza. It was great. read more

My new favorite breakfast place in Ogunquit. Nice outdoor patio facing Shore Road and an elegant indoor space with table cloths and a beautiful bar which is where I sat. Btw- I ate here 3 times while in town. 2 times I had fantastic Bloody Mary's and amazing LOBSTER BENEDICT which had plenty of juicy lobster meat and the hollandaise sauce was next-level. On my last day I had the Blueberry pancakes which were slightly crispy and taste a little like donuts. Bonus! I asked for some butter and I got honey butter which was delicious! The service was attentive and friendly and the chef even came out to ask how everything was. I highly recommend trying PCK for yourself. *I had already take two bites of the farthest Benedict before I decided to take the pic which is the reason it looks a tad bit smaller than the other one lol read more

So this is our second time a year apart having breakfast here. We had a late breakfast and we were the only table ( 4 adults and a baby) in the place. I'm going to be blunt the older waitress is rude . My husband was ready to get up and walk out. We had a similar experience with her last year. I don't know if she thinks she's being funny with her attitude but it's not. The food has always been good and the place has a relaxed vibe to it . But the service is what makes your experience enjoyable ( even if the food is just ok) but she really needs to figure out how to deliver her not so nice attitude. She tries following it up with being nice but the damage has already been done. We won't be going back for that fact alone . Took the enjoyment out of our meal. This was probably one of the worst experiences dining I've had. When we first arrived there was only one table taken. We were seated at a table maybe a foot behind the stools at the bar. When I asked to be moved I was told no the table I asked for was for a reservation (which we also had). Not 5 minutes later another couple was also seated at a table near the bar and when they asked a different waiter moved them to the table we asked for. This happened again when the next couple was seated at the table, they too were moved to another table. Now the food. For appetizer we ordered the clams and while they were ok they were the size of peas. For mains my husband ordered the salmon which was ok but came out only warm. I ordered the lobster ravioli which was horrible. Hard to eat. Served in a bowl of liquid that tasted like alcohol. Probably the worst thing I've ever tried to eat. The waitress was not friendly and not attentive. Spent most of the time at the bar doing other things. Do your self a favor and skip this place. read more

While the ambiance was good, sadly the food wasn't at all. I had a tomato bisque soup that was light on the tomatoes and heavy on the cream. It didn't taste bad, but it was lukewarm at best. But, nothing could have prepared me for the overcooked, dried-out Chicken Roulade. Not only was it dried out, it was - you guessed it - cold. I sent it back and - to add insult to injury - was charged 50% for the portion I ate (FYI, I only ate about 25% of it, not that that should have mattered. I've never in my long life had that experience before.) Now for the service. We had no napkins, no utensils, and no refill on bread until we persistently asked for it. We were charged for the bread refill (you can't make this stuff up). Our server, BTW, had no more than three tables to deal with. All in all a complete disaster. The restaurant has very nice indoor and outdoor (seasonally) seating, and the atmosphere is pleasant. Service was also very good and the food was excellent. My wife had the eggs, sausage, and potatoes and I had the omelette with andouille sausage, Asiago, and peppers, also with potatoes. Both were excellent in every way to include the potatoes! The freshly squeezed OJ was the cap on a great experience. A trip to Perkins Cove is very pleasant and stopping at the PCK makes it all the more so. read more

We put our name in at a different restaurant for breakfast around the corner and it was over a 30 minute wait. We found PCK and were sat instantly. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. The inside of the restaurant is adorable and feels like home. The menu was great and reasonably priced. The coffee was delicious, hot, and kept flowing! Everything seemed very fresh.
