Thin. Crispy. Perfect ratio of cheese to sauce. Fresh. Not dry. Exceeded my expectations during our pizza adventure in the neighborhood.

We ordered food to be delivered to work. We started with the potato croquettes. They were good, but cold. The side of red sauce was good but that too was also cold. We then had the pasta vodka with penne and the pasta alfredo with the homemade white fettuccine. The fettuccine alfredo was on the small size especially since we paid an extra two dollars for the homemade pasta. The penna vodka was also on the small size. We wanted a bowl of pasta and got short changed. The sauces were stellar, but we couldn't add chicken to the pasta and there was no bread. What a bummer! The side grated cheese was a surprise and was very sharp. It was on the pricy side, but the ingredients were definitely fresh. The place looked nice from the outside.

I didn't try the pizza but the donut.... Omg I had to go back for another one bc I live in queens. It was so good so was the croissant. 10/10. Soft and thick uhhhh so good!

My main exercise during covid is going on long walks around Brooklyn and every time I'm on 7th ave I stop and stare at the window at all the beautiful and tasty looking pastries but then talk myself out of it because the whole point is exercise! Today I finally made a concerted effort to come out here and get one. I got the Nutella bomboloni which is a light and airy pastry covered in sugar with a core of Nutella on the inside. It was definitely tasty. The person I'm assuming was the owner was super friendly, as was the second staff member. I definitely walked away with a good feeling and I'll be back to try the pizza and more pastries soon.

Our family stopped in here and were blown away! Nothing fancy in terms of the room, and it looks like they do more takeout than dining room. We sat down in the back and the guy running the place took great care of us. Service was quick and friendly. We ordered two appetizers, two medium pizzas, and a spinach salad. Everything was fresh and delicious. The tomato sauce with fresh basil was completely outrageous! There are other Italian dishes on the menu, but this place is by far the best New York pizza I've ever had, and maybe some of the best pizza I've had anywhere. (And I'm a Chicago pizza guy!) We'll come back whenever we visit Brooklyn again. Really a great spot! I only remember to leave reviews for memorable places. This is definitely as good as it gets!

I'm not sure how my favorite cookie is from a pizza shop. Or how a pizza shop manages to make amazing Napoli?style pies AND bake fresh, delicious desserts. But somehow, Numero 28 has it all figured out. I wandered in here about a year ago and have enjoyed it every time since. The dessert in the window drew me in and seeing the Roman slices made me stay. The desserts are light, not too sweet, buttery perfection. I tried the bombolini yesterday. The yellow crème made me think (and hope) it was a lemon custard filling but it's vanilla. It still looked too good to pass. It's soft and airy. Like an improved Boston Kreme, but less dense and not as sweet. It's basically perfect. I had to try another dessert--it wasn't optional at this point. So I went with the Linzer and it's another delicate, buttery dessert perfection. But since it's a pizza shop, it's only right I get out of dessert rambling and at least address the pizza. The pizza is my Roman-style squares. I got a mushroom slice and a ricotta slice and both had a crispy, lightly oiled crust, lots of flavor and weren't too heavy. There's also a mini setup for outdoor seating that accommodates 4 if you don't want to take your slice to go.

We've had a small/baby margharirta pie to go. It is ok, a bit too salty for my liking. Husband said it was too soggy. Not sure if I want to try anything else from there. Though people there seem nice and the employees are highly efficient. And the inside is very nice and inviting. But I would not make my way out there just fir this place. Only if perhaps we were already in the area.

Another sunny day and another bicycle ride thru Park Slope. I noticed two Pizzeria's on the same block. Numero 28 had outdoor seating, so I gave it a try. I ordered one Mushroom slice, and one Grandma's slice. The Mushroom slice was crispy and the mushroom's were perfectly cooked. The sauce on the Grandma's slice was delicious. My bill for two slices and a bottle of Poland Spring water was $11.70. The value was $11.00. I'll be back.

spinach salad with apples and walnuts

A decent place for a quick bite but definitely not as good as some of the other pizza places around the area. They have some cool pizza toppings but at $4 a slice, you're better off getting a pie if you have a few people with you. We ordered a small cheese pie for 2 kids and shared a spinach salad and chicken parm. The pizza looked good but when I tried to pick up a slice, it was way too soggy. Ugh...soggy pizza is the worst! The spinach salad was good and seemed fresh but they are stingy with the other ingredients. I can literally count how many apple slices (4) and walnuts (6) in it. For $12, that's a hefty price for some greens and sprinkles of cheese. The chicken parm was good, thankfully not dry but again, they are stingy with the cheese. I've always eaten chicken parm where the cheese is oozing as you cut into it. This one was just some cheese on top. Overall, a solid 3 star pizza place.

The pizza here is incredibly good! I honestly can't say enough good things! If you are into the think NYC slice this place is for you. I'm so picky about sauce in general and this place really hits the spot. Definitely worth every penny! Super fresh and staff is abiding by all safety protocols !

Whole oval pies - Margherita, mushroom (Tartufo), pepperoni (Diavola)
    Deby X.

They use great pizza dough, and the cheese-to-sauce ratio makes the pizza flavorful and light. I ate a slice of Margherita right outside, because you can tell a lot about a place based on their "cheese slice" -- and I am happy to say they passed my test, and I would love to go back. I strolled by here at 11am after going to the bookshop and I had to go in when I saw they were putting cannolis and fresh baked goods out (haven't tried but want to). I wasn't expecting the place to be as spacious as it was, but there is a large seating section in the back. It seemed a little dark and lonely, so I took my pizza slice outside in the sunshine. A pizza maker, Daniel, was super sweet, and the host/server Stephanie was extremely informative about how much pizza would feed a party of 8. Just for them I wanted to get delivery but they are a touch overpriced. A whole Margherita pie is $30 and the pepperoni or "Diavola" pie is $38. For context, 2 Boots is $26 for their meatiest pie. I included the menu below since you might be able to sling the "dough." Overall, I think their per slice is the better option and well worth it.

I have never had this kind of pizza delivered to me before? As you can see in the photo, the pizza came sopping wet and parts of the pizza were completely uncooked. I tried calling the restaurant and they didn't pick up.

I tried looking up this pizza from Target Richfield for a review, but it sent me to the NYC location, so forgive me if this review is in the wrong thread. Anyway, wow. I've been to New York City and ate at the original Joe's Pizza. What an epic slice of pizza. Now back home in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the great white north of snow that never ends, I finally tried the frozen Di Fara pepperoni pizza from Target no less. Sorry Joe's, but this is on par with your pizza (if it was frozen). Dave Portnoy was right with his high review. This pizza is very good. The thick cut pepperoni, great basil, and the crisp chewy crust was excellent for a frozen pizza. Nice under carriage as well. I cooked the pizza at 480 degrees in an electric pizza oven for 10 minutes, and the result was very good. I added a drizzle of hot honey, and it was spectacular (okay, I also added some fresh picked jalapeños as well). The pizza was hot and melted in the center, and the crust was very crisp, but still had some chew. Wow. This was the best frozen pizza I have had. Bar none. New York, you spoiled me when it came to pizza. Now I can get a taste of New York at home. Great job! I may or may not eat the last 3 pieces currently sitting in the fridge before bed.

Dom has now passed but his legacy continues. I've always compared the then pie vs now. And like most things,, nothing beats the original. This is still a very good slice. I once rated them as the best in NYC. Unfortunately, its not at the very top but still on the podium. Coming back feels like you are saying hello to an old friend. So, eating at this restaurant before the Bruce Springsteen concert, the other night was a thrill. Ate with lifelong friends. We shared several appetizers, including meatballs, a margarita, pizza, bake clams, and spicy shrimp. All were delicious. I had a seafood pasta with squid ink that was memorable. Lots of seafood and the pasta was fantastic! Nice bottle of wine at a reasonable price. Good service. Frankly, I think the prices were cheaper than what I pay in Austin area, and the food and venue were authentic and much better than in Texas!

Fresh mozzarella, a nicely thin crisped crust, sweet tomato sauce, and fresh basil makes this simple pizza taste great. The fried calamari also impressed. It tasted notably fresh--light, clean, and not overly chewy like pre-frozen versions can sometimes be. While I can't say for certain, it had that just-prepared quality that makes a difference. The Caprese salad was a great way to start the meal, with fresh tomatoes, creamy burrata, and a balsamic drizzle was a nice light start. The atmosphere leans old-school Italian, which adds to the charm and character. Service was fine--nothing remarkable, but no major issues either. That said, my overall rating takes a big hit solely for the restaurants ridiculous tipping policy choices rather than the food itself. The automatic 20% gratuity added to the bill was frustrating. The menu does indicate that 18%, will automatically apply, or will be 20% for parties of six or more. We were only three people, so it felt inconsistent and unnecessary. On top of that, the added cost for credit card usage didn't help. I don't mind tipping for good service! In fact, I tip well--but I prefer having the choice and I'm old school so it's the principle of the matter. Being forced into it, takes away from an otherwise enjoyable meal. Bottom line: the food is strong and worth trying, but the billing practices leave a bad taste. If those were adjusted, this could easily be a higher-rated experience.
