My family loves pizza so of course when visiting Brooklyn we wanted to stop and get a slice. Norm's was located right by our hotel and I'm glad it was. The guy working was friendly and recommended the vodka pizza and it was one of the best I've ever had. My husband and son had cheese and they loved theirs as well. Definitely recommend!

YUMMMM! Tried Norm's for the first time today (got an order to go but the place looked super cute) since moving to the neighborhood and LOVED it. Super thin crust, perfect cheese to sauce ratio, fresh and hot garlic knots, and the skinny soda cans (if you know you know). Total order for 4 slides, an order of knots, two sodas and tip was $24. Not bad at all. The vodka slice was honestly the best vodka slice I've ever had. A little spicy, actually tasted like vodka sauce, just delicious. Plain slide was great, too, and my husband loved his sausage slice. So happy to have Norms nearby. Super thin crust for the WIN!!

Cute little place. I usually get my nails done in the neighborhood and got out hungry. Stopped in here for a slice. Not too bad. Sauce was yummy! Nice and cheesy slice. The Avant Garlic slice looks amazeballs and would try next time I'm in this area. Pizza was served with a smile. I will come back

The pizza here is fine but nothing to go out of your way for. The crust was thin but not crispy, even when reheated in the toaster oven. I liked the supreme slice, which got a lot of flavor from the pepperoni, sausage, and Hatch chiles. The slice I got with garlic, mushroom, and mozz was decent but a little dry, as was the white slice (I actually didn't love the lemon zest on it). Some of the crust was nice and doughy. It's a cute spot and I didn't eat my slices fresh so that could be why it was more lackluster. It's decent for a neighborhood spot!

Decent slice - very cute interior! There's a bunch of seating and it's bright inside and reminiscent of a 90s diner. I tried the plain and margherita, just as a baseline. They were pretty thin slices but not crispy thin which I liked it. I really hate doughy pizza if it's not light and fluffy. I liked the margherita one! I think they were each $4 - $4.50 each. I'd def come back to try the avant- garlic and the Sicilian, both also recommended by the store employee!

Well here is another chapter to add in my Pizza chronicles... yes it's Pizza cheat time! Norm has been in my bucket list and after a recent BBG visit ( a BBG member was carrying a pie from Norm's on Members Picnic night) I decided it was time to sharpen that pizza cutter! Norm's is located in the heart of Park Slope on 7th Avenue. A great location indeed; nestled on a block with wine bars, cafes and of course a cool neighborhood. I entered Norm's and it was empty @12 thus I had the place to myself. ( but not for long). Norm's is quite small with limited but cozy seating. The server greeted me warmly and I decided to try one slice first (on my pizza cheat day I skip breakfast) then decide on a second. I chose the Margherita slice and then looked at the White slice after I ordered it ( I always do this, why? I have no idea. But the white slice is always my fave). Now, Norm's was buzzing with pizza bees( I have a following ladies and gents). I sat and stared at my Margherita and wondered why no basil? Then the most important point: the first bite. Well.. the crust was a tad too thin and my first bite.. the crust caved.. thus I had to hold it with my other hand. Lol calamity!! Seriously and disappointingly it had no taste.. and limited cheese. No basil!! It felt as if I was eating a marinara slice. I decided to give it another go and ordered the White slice. at this point I met Rosario, the manager, and we talked big time stuff.. pizza of course! He told me the White slice is great with a lemon zing and ricotta.* I took the slice and sat back down. Well taste buds here we go... The first bite.. no crust caving, the pizza is holding its own.. steady.. steady.. and yummmm. The lemon zest, Ricotta cheese and focaccia like crust all were in perfect synchronicity. Truly scrumptious! Norm's menu consists of basic pizza: cheese, Margherita, Vodka, Pepperoni and White. They also sell garlic knots. The prices start @$3 for cheese slice. Well how does Norm's rate? Well I will be bringing some slices to the next BBG picnic night. Why does it rate only 4 stars? The Margherita was a disappointment and needs some TLC and the A/C was off during my visit, just a tad uncomfortable. All in all, Norm's is worth a visit! * ahh you noticed this? Yes, well when I order a White slice I sheepishly talk about the delicious and not topped yet at Fini's in Williamsburg. Response:"Oh, I've heard of that place". Uh huh...

My review is generous based on the delivery of my pizza. I feel bad leaving this review because I never went to the store and maybe they are better in person? I hope they can resolve the delivery issue/ transport issue with the pizza because it was cold and soggy by the time it got to me. I ended up trying to eat a slice to taste but honestly the sauce made the pizza super soggy and cold the pizza wouldn't fold. It also slanted on the motorcycle the guy was driving but I think they need some help with delivery quality.

Second location of the quick slice joint that started in downtown Brooklyn, and now in Park Slope. Some of the same partners as Upside Pizza are involved, but the pizza is very different here and more reminiscent of a classic slice joint and not the newer school we mill our own flour etc etc type of place. But the pizza is excellent, and definitely one of the better slice joints around, and for sure the best choice now anywhere around Park Slope. They also have garlic knots in addition to a tight menu of slices with some basic toppings, with sicilian noted on the menu as coming soon.

They charged $7 for this much arugula.
    Julia M.

I am baffled by the positive reviews. The pizza is not good and way overpriced. They charged $7 to add arugula and we got less than a handful.

    Caitlin B.

One of the best slices I have had in the city. This was so good, I kept eating even though it was fresh out of the oven and burning my mouth. Delicious slice.

    Great Sicilian pizza!

It is definitely the best pizza in the US; I say this even after visiting Frank Pepe and Sally's in New Haven, and it's honestly not even close. On our last day before heading back to SF, we ordered a massive whole pie: half burrata, half pepperoni. It nailed the classic NYC slice with a thin, crisp crust and the perfect balance of cheese and sauce. It was so good that my daughter finished her burrata half over three separate sittings: at the shop, on the plane, and once she got home. The pie just kept calling to her! Be prepared for long lines, but it is worth it (and the Brooklyn location definitely has shorter lines than the Manhattan spots). It's not really a sit-down place, so you just have to grab a spot at the bar-top tables if you can find room. The service was good and fast. The cashier who took our order was amazing--absolutely love her--though she did forget to hand us our chocolate Bombolone. Situated at the corner of East 15th Street and Avenue J, the establishment was owned and managed by Domenico DeMarco (1936-2022), but now his family continues that legacy. Food critics and bloggers frequently rank it among the top pizzerias in New York City. Di Fara has received numerous accolades, including being named the "Best pizza in New York" by publications such as New York and Serious Eats. The New York Times described the restaurant as "one of the most acclaimed and sought-after pizza shops in New York City." In 2011, Zagat ranked it as the top pizza restaurant in the city, and in 2013, Frommer's called its pizza "the Best Hand-Made Pizza in New York City." Chef Anthony Bourdain also expressed admiration for the restaurant's pizza. I had long hoped to visit Di Fara, so I decided to make a trip from Connecticut. Upon entering, my son and I observed that it was quite busy. There is also a window for ordering, but we chose to go inside to order our food to experience the atmosphere fully. We each ordered a freshly prepared Sicilian slice. Unlike some places, there was no pre-made pizza on display. Each slice is made to order, and it takes about twenty-five minutes to prepare. When we received our pizza, it was notably greasy. The Sicilian slices resembled a full meal, topped with garlic and pepperoni. The garlic was quite prominent and flavorful, adding a nice punch which I liked. The pepperoni was crispy, and the undercarriage had a nice crunch, though it was also quite oily. In my personal opinion, it wasn't the best slice I've ever tasted. However, I understand that when the owner, Dom, was alive, the pizza was considered exceptional by many. I would rate it around 3.5 stars, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to experience pizza from one of New York's most iconic establishments.

Now back home in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the great white north of snow that never ends, I finally tried the frozen Di Fara pepperoni pizza from Target no less. Sorry Joe's, but this is on par with your pizza (if it was frozen). Dave Portnoy was right with his high review. This pizza is very good. The thick cut pepperoni, great basil, and the crisp chewy crust was excellent for a frozen pizza. Nice under carriage as well. I cooked the pizza at 480 degrees in an electric pizza oven for 10 minutes, and the result was very good. I added a drizzle of hot honey, and it was spectacular (okay, I also added some fresh picked jalapeños as well). The pizza was hot and melted in the center, and the crust was very crisp, but still had some chew. Wow. This was the best frozen pizza I have had. Bar none. New York, you spoiled me when it came to pizza. Now I can get a taste of New York at home. Great job! I may or may not eat the last 3 pieces currently sitting in the fridge before bed.

Fresh mozzarella, a nicely thin crisped crust, sweet tomato sauce, and fresh basil makes this simple pizza taste great. The fried calamari also impressed. It tasted notably fresh--light, clean, and not overly chewy like pre-frozen versions can sometimes be. While I can't say for certain, it had that just-prepared quality that makes a difference. The Caprese salad was a great way to start the meal, with fresh tomatoes, creamy burrata, and a balsamic drizzle was a nice light start. The atmosphere leans old-school Italian, which adds to the charm and character. Service was fine--nothing remarkable, but no major issues either. That said, my overall rating takes a big hit solely for the restaurants ridiculous tipping policy choices rather than the food itself. The automatic 20% gratuity added to the bill was frustrating. The menu does indicate that 18%, will automatically apply, or will be 20% for parties of six or more. We were only three people, so it felt inconsistent and unnecessary. On top of that, the added cost for credit card usage didn't help. I don't mind tipping for good service! In fact, I tip well--but I prefer having the choice and I'm old school so it's the principle of the matter. Being forced into it, takes away from an otherwise enjoyable meal. Bottom line: the food is strong and worth trying, but the billing practices leave a bad taste. If those were adjusted, this could easily be a higher-rated experience.
