Which is fair, dive vibes but I was surprised when the music was fairly coarse + not appropriate for a 3-year-old. The garlic knots were burnt on the bottom. So, I'd be careful about getting those. We got a a garlic ranch chicken pizza that was okay. A cheese Pizza that my son ate really well. And a pepperoni that was great. If you have kids probably better for takeout. If you're stopping in, they have four indoor seats so with the cold Don't expect to find a seat. read more

I think this is my new favorite slice pizza spot in the neighborhood. The service is friendly and you can definitely tell they are authentic New Yorkers. The grandma slice is excellent, and I know I'll be coming back here over and over for it. Additionally, I had the beef patty with cheese inside and it was super tasty - a great addition to have both pizza and a patty at the same time! They've got a few tables outside, which is so nice for a slices place because you don't always get it. It's a nice, clean facility with some indoor seating as well and plenty of drink options. I'd rate Crown Heights Pizza four and a half stars. We shared a NY style margherita slice and a Detroit style vodka slice. I thought the crust on the NY slice was a little soft and didn't have much crisp or char. The Detroit style crust was awesome. It was super crispy and crunchy. Good pizza, but becoming less consistent + repeated delivery shenanigans is losing them a weekly customer. I've been ordering from here almost every week for a year. The last few months, they keep listing false delivery estimates on Slice (30-45 min) and then as soon as the order is in, it becomes an hour or an hour and a half. I get sometimes shops get busy, but this has happened almost every. single. time. in the last few months, and tonight was the last straw when a pie I ordered before 6pm took over an hour and a half. Maybe if the guy seemed apologetic or something on the phone I'd be less inclined to post this complaint but someone should hold them accountable if the delivery app won't. read more

There is such a nasty attitude here, it makes it hard to justify going there. the pizza is pretty good, but they have a menu with prices posted when you order then find out they want to charge you more (almost 2x) than what their published prices are. They know the site prices are wrong, but I guess they don't know how to change them. I was prepared to walk out when told of the higher prices and ended up paying the lower price, but it shouldn't have to be that way. I base my thoughts of a pizza shop on the cheese slice. It's foundational to any other kind of slice. The pizzas here are stale, served lukewarm, and with an attitude. The cheese slice here is about what you'd get at a dollar slice shop, masquerading as something more. The crust does not hold up - a classic tell of a bad dough recipe. Cheese and sauce are well balanced, but not really tasty. If you go in person, you may have an experience similar to mine -- the music was so loud, that despite being the only person in the shop, I had to shout to get the lady behind the counter to hear me. This is seriously good pizza. I live in Prospect Heights and I've tried every place between here and Union St Pizza. Crown Heights Pizza has the best NYC slices out of any of them. The bottom of the crust is toasty and charred, the sauce is savory and not too sweet, the pepperoni curl up into little cups and brown at the edges. Great stuff! read more

I have to praise this place for two reasons. Firstly the pizza is great. We've tried both the pepperoni and the mushroom, and they've both been excellent. It's a recent addition to the neighborhood, perhaps the highlight of 2020! I'd also like to give them a shout out for resolving an issue with our order. When we received our delivery we noticed that we had the wrong pizza. We called to tell them, perhaps expecting a refund of the difference. However they immediately said that they'd make and send us the correct pizza. They didn't need to do this, and is an example of the great customer service we've continuously received from this place.
