Things I Love About Smith Street Pizza: 1. The best garlic knots. I don't say that lightly. 2. The pizza is excellent, as you like to see from a pizza place. 3. A mushroom pie here means real, fresh mushrooms sliced. Not canned. 4. The Caesar salad is damn good. 5. When I get a salad with my pizza, I feel healthy. 6. The penne alla vodka is excellent, as is the Chicken Francese. 7. The pepperoni is the good stuff #ronicups. 8. It's a nice little shop, even if I do end up getting delivery more than walking in. Things I Don't Love About Smith Street Pizza: 1. This one time we ordered a pie that was supposed to be half plain, half pepperoni and mushroom. They gave us half pepperoni, half mushroom. Which I don't really have a problem with, but my kids do. And while part of me thought, "Oh well, more pizza for me," their little cries of hunger put a damper on my enthusiasm. You did that, Smith Street Pizza. You made my kids cry. (They were actually more than happy with the penne alla vodka.)

I went into this pizza place a couple days ago. They need a sign up that virtually all other pizza places have which list the prices as if I knew that the mushroom slice was going to be $5 (+ more for paying with card,) I likely would have gotten a plain for $3.50 which is much more reasonably priced. I did check online outside of this and the other topping slices are also $5 which means either that the single topping slices are overpriced or the slices with multiple toppings are reasonable. Outside of the price points, it was a pretty standard slice though I would say the crust was a little bit thick. Sauce was pretty solid not too sweet and the cheese had a good pull. The mushrooms were standard and not really worth the upcharge. The size was a tad smaller than most spots in the area. Alright slice albeit a bit pricey. Mid/low 3.

BEST PIZZA EVER LIKE EVER. Vodka and margarita size OMGGNMGMGG. So glad I tried it and didn't get something from a deli. Workers are super friendly and kind, start orders right away. Price of pizza is a lil pricey but it's a good neighbor so ofc. Want to try the chicken parm and some pasta next and I think I saw a chicken bbq slice too! I love a restaurant with not too many options because that means it's very good. Place is super clean and cute.

I'm going to repeat this! I am not a huge fan of pizza but when I do have a slice that makes me want more because it's that good I have to yelp about it, lol. I frequent this area a lot but I've never noticed this pizza shop. It's a small establishment in the middle of the block and so easy to overlook. I met my daughter here for a late afternoon lunch date & to my surprise, I enjoyed the slice & garlic knots. The garlic knots are big & so flavorful. The slice tasted & looked fresh. It's worth stopping by if in the area you won't be disappointed with the food or customer service.

Nasty Did not wash his hands after sneezing in them... refused to use soap when I asked! The other workers there are nice and polite.

Best slice I had while visiting the city. Doesn't seem super hyped up with ridiculous wait times and lines down the sidewalk (looking at you L'industrie). Options were good, was quick, tasted great, cute little back patio to sit and enjoy in the sun. Would easily recommend.

Best slice in the neighborhood. The vodka slice is especially good. We get it at least once a week.

The pizza is the best in the neighborhood. Thin crust, gooey cheese, spicy pepperoni- it's always delicious. A favorite "go to" spot.

We called Olivia after speaking with many caterers about about approach, cuisine and budget, and we were honestly getting a bit defeated. My first conversation with Olivia was so incredibly refreshing in that I told her we are trying to decide between tacos or barbeque and she responded with a very effortless, "why choose?". This immediately put me at ease as we started to brainstorm together. All other caterers were now subpar. She crafted a beautiful menu for us that included mini (single-bite) sized tacos as part of the hors d'oeuvres and an upscale barbeque with hometown roots for the entree. Our guests have not stopped RAVING about our food (strong accolades for the BBQ still rolling in from our Texas and Tennessee-native guests, so you know it was great!). We received a truly personalized experience with Olivia. She even stepped in to work with us directly when we had questions and get saleswoman was unavailable! From the first conversation through the tasting and our wedding, Olivia was one of our top vendors. Her saleswoman, Christina, was excellent at offering advice and ideas as well as suggestions from other events they'd catered (either at 501 or otherwise). I've never had this kind of cuisine before and I wanted to give it a try. Immediately when I walked in, I was greeted by soft jazz music in the background and a low light calm ambiance. I went around 5:45/6 and I was the only customer there. It was nice having the place all to myself. The decor gives "soft life" and "unwind after work with a nice meal" and they both met my mood for the evening. The wait staff was extremely kind and patient and very helpful with discussing the menu. I started my meal with the Crystal Peach Oolong and the Sweet and Sour Ribs. The cocktail was sweet like I like and the alcohol was not overbearing. There was a nice balance. You can definitely taste the peach and the Oolong. Very well crafted drink. The ribs were delightful. Tender and falling off the bone. The sauce was absolutely immaculate. I was pleasantly blown away by this dish. For dinner, I ordered the lamb chops and the seafood fried rice. The lamb chops came with Chinese eggplant and the eggplant was very savory. Very soft and well seasoned. It was topped with a sauce that complimented it very well. The lamb chops were chef's kiss. Cooked to perfection and tender. It was topped with a honey mustard sauce that was divine. The meat was cooked medium well and seasoned like my mother worked in the kitchen. You can tell this food is made with love and care. The seafood fried rice was delicious as well. It was a nice side to compliment the lamb chops in addition to the eggplant. It was savory and delicious. I also tried the Jasmine French Martini and the Osmanthus Blossom cocktail. Both drinks were up my alley. My waiter suggested these as I prefer drinks on the sweeter side. Great suggestions. One thing I appreciate about this restaurant is the balance of alcohol and drink flavor. They shine equally and make the drinks smooth and not harsh. Both drinks were very fruity and refreshing. I ended the night trying a soup dumpling. My waiter recommend these black truffle pork dumplings and I have to say: he knows his stuff. If you love truffle, you will truly enjoy this dumpling. First, the broth is just dreamy. You taste nothing but flavor through the whole experience. And the pork? I'm glad you asked. It was delicious. The whole dumpling was just truly divine. I couldn't get enough. I too would recommend trying this soup dumpling after what I had the pleasure of enjoying. When I stumbled into this place, I didn't know what to expect. Safe to say, I was overjoyed with my experience. I was well taken care of and the vibe, food, and drinks have me looking forward to my next visit!

For example, the Peking duck bao was made of confit duck leg instead of Chinese-style roasted duck. Not all the dishes were like that though. The pork truffle soup dumplings were my favorite and it was soo juicy and mushroom-y. I don't tend to like truffle because of the gasoline-like taste, but this didn't have it. I wanted to order the lobster bisque udon but they didn't have lobster in the kitchen so they recommended seafood bisque udon instead which used a lobster bisque base but the toppings are of other types of seafood sans lobster. The soup was good but the udon didn't match the soup. My husband's Fleur cheeseburger was decent but the fries stole the show. My husband really enjoyed the fries seasoning which was made with a house blend of Shao kao (bbq) powder. The interior of this place is so spiffy, it would make the perfect date night spot.

It pains me to waste food and more often than not, I found myself throwing away about half the produce I bought each week. Or I'm ordering in or going out, which isn't always the healthiest way to go. Things I like: - No monthly fees - good for ppl who travel a lot - Adjustable portion sizes for singles or families - Good selection of healthy food and also cheat day food - Everything usually takes less than 5 mins to prep and heat - It's never been frozen - Most of the things I order taste good and heat easily/well - Responsive and friendly customer service - Always delivered within the window - Some things are good to freeze and eat later, like burritos, wraps, soups, etc. - A lot of protein options Things to be aware of: - Order about a week in advance - it's not instant delivery - Minimum order - I think it's $80 or so, and I average $90-130 each time I order. - Eat salad or fresh veggies first since you can't freeze them - A LOT of email reminders - I need to unsubscribe and put reminders in my calendar - 4 hour delivery windows - they usually text about 10 mins prior to arriving. Expensive though, about $55 dollars for a vegan 18-inch Margherita pie with 3 toppings. Was it worth it for the experience? Yes. Would I recommend to someone who wanted to try it at least once for a good dairy-free pizza? Absolutely, I couldn't even tell this was vegan cheese. Would I get it again? Maybe (?) once in a while as a treat with price being the only barrier. Service 5/5: This was great. I came here the other day to inquire about their vegan pizza and just wanted to try a slice. The person found his manager to talk to me about this. They were super friendly and explained to me the situation. This location only sold vegan options in full pies and their other DOP Fast Life location does sell vegan slices, but they didn't try to push me to buy. I came back today and the staff today were also very welcoming. Ambiance 5/5: Rustic red brick interior with warm lighting. It was definitely bustling on a Friday night. Food 5/5: Delicious pizza. I do regret that I ate it cold after driving 30 minutes to pick it up so I did not get the full experience. But the crust was still crunchy. I do wish the toppings were a little heavier but the tomato chunks in the sauce tasted very fresh. A very classic New York style pizza and I couldn't even tell it wasn't real cheese.
