I tried to go in the bathroom with my toddler before I was going to purchase garlic knots and the man at the counter was very rude about it. He just said "hello lady" and kept saying that until I interacted with him. I decided not to buy anything and just leave so we could find a friendly restaurant for a snack and a restroom visit. We live down the street and both me and my husband will choose a friendlier pizza shop to get a slice. I've had their pizza and it's nothing to write home about any way. Things I Love About Smith Street Pizza: 1. The best garlic knots. I don't say that lightly. 2. The pizza is excellent, as you like to see from a pizza place. 3. A mushroom pie here means real, fresh mushrooms sliced. Not canned. 4. The Caesar salad is damn good. 5. When I get a salad with my pizza, I feel healthy. 6. The penne alla vodka is excellent, as is the Chicken Francese. 7. The pepperoni is the good stuff #ronicups. 8. It's a nice little shop, even if I do end up getting delivery more than walking in. Things I Don't Love About Smith Street Pizza: 1. This one time we ordered a pie that was supposed to be half plain, half pepperoni and mushroom. They gave us half pepperoni, half mushroom. Which I don't really have a problem with, but my kids do. And while part of me thought, "Oh well, more pizza for me," their little cries of hunger put a damper on my enthusiasm. I went into this pizza place a couple days ago. They need a sign up that virtually all other pizza places have which list the prices as if I knew that the mushroom slice was going to be $5 (+ more for paying with card,) I likely would have gotten a plain for $3.50 which is much more reasonably priced. I did check online outside of this and the other topping slices are also $5 which means either that the single topping slices are overpriced or the slices with multiple toppings are reasonable. Outside of the price points, it was a pretty standard slice though I would say the crust was a little bit thick. Sauce was pretty solid not too sweet and the cheese had a good pull. The mushrooms were standard and not really worth the upcharge. The size was a tad smaller than most spots in the area. Alright slice albeit a bit pricey. Mid/low 3. read more

I'm going to repeat this! I am not a huge fan of pizza but when I do have a slice that makes me want more because it's that good I have to yelp about it, lol. I frequent this area a lot but I've never noticed this pizza shop. It's a small establishment in the middle of the block and so easy to overlook. I met my daughter here for a late afternoon lunch date & to my surprise, I enjoyed the slice & garlic knots. The garlic knots are big & so flavorful. The slice tasted & looked fresh. I come all the way from Staten Island to get my pizza fix whenever I get a chance, never disappoints. The fried calamari is on par with the best restaurants out there, and the specialty pies are phenomenal. The newest slice joint on Smith Street! I've been looking for an alternative to Brooklyn Pizza Market ever since their quality went down, and Smith Street Pizza is a worthy successor! Beautiful space, with a yard to soon open. Everyone working there is super friendly. Lots of variations. I got a Sicilian/square with broccoli rabe, and one with mushrooms. Highly recommend stopping into this new pizza stop in Carroll Garden's. As someone who is allergic to dairy & eggs, I often seek out good vegan pizza and Smith Street did not disappoint! I was able to get a personal pie with their homemade dough, marinara, vegan cheese, peppers & mushrooms. It was DELICIOUS! Smith Street has VEGAN and GLUTEN FREE options. My kids LOVE the pizza here. The slices are big and so are the pie's. Great value for the price. They also have a great menu of pasta and other items. This place looks like a fancy slice joint. It is like a slice joint in that you choose your slice, and they serve it piping hot but also soggy right out of the oven. The tables are dirty and you must clean them yourself. It is not like a slice joint in that the slices are $5.00 each and if you ask for a cup of plain water the answer is no. I had the Margarita and sausage/mushroom slices. No reason to go back. My husband and I travel from Midwood to enjoy the Pizza at this charming new Pizza Restaurant in Carroll Gardens. There are so many pizza variations to try and we plan on trying them all! So far, we have had the pepperoni, traditional and vegetable and they were all delicious. The toppings are fresh and plentiful. The prices are extremely reasonable. We love the space also. You can sit inside or in the beautiful open garden in the back - perfect for date night or for those who prefer the outside. Miguel, the gentleman who made our Pizza makes them to order. He was very accommodating to our requests and makes a great pie. Let's face it, Brooklyn has a ton of Pizza restaurants and we've tried many of them. This one really stands out as one of the best! This is my second time and it was better than the first. The grandma and regular slices are very good. My first time, I took the Slices cold and ate at home. so my air fryer reheat just didn't do it justice. Second time, I ate there with the slices fresh out the Oven and crust was way crispier and a lot better.
