Great service and pizza. Recommend the margarita prime. Cozy place and family operated.

Love this place! The pizza and salad special is my go to. The pizza is so good I easily put away the 4 generous slices. The sauce has a nice touch of sweetness without being cloyingly so and I love the crust and when it burns a bit on the edges. Toppings are generous. My go to salad is the Ceasar. Those crutons are amazing. These are for sure house made and not out of a box as they have a perfect garlicky crunchiness to them. Delivery is always fast and pizza is hot when it gets here. read more

I ordered directly through their website because I didn't want Seamless to get a cut of their profit. But they messed up the delivery. When the setting clearly indicated they should meet me at the door, they left the pizza in the lobby of the building without letting me know and it was stone cold when I picked it up after I called them to find out what happened to the pizza. That wasn't the first time they messed up the delivery when I ordered directly. Another time they were 30 minutes late and when I called to ask what happened, they said the delivery guy hadn't picked up the pizza. Ordering through Seamless would be best with this place. read more

$6 lunch special gets you any slice and a can of soda. This place is bare bones - nothing fancy here at Layla Jones. I assumed it would be decorated and quaint from the outside vibe, but inside is bare bones. The gal didn't even come to my table. Server? Hostess? Register gal? I had to get up to order. She also didn't bring me the slice. She gave me a look that said "it's ready". $6. Paper plates. Never got my soda:( But damn that pizza was good. The crust had the perfect crunch. read more

Their lunch special is the best. 6 bucks for two slices and a drink, their slice is much better than most in the area! Great service too. They also serve pasta and paninis too. read more

Pleasantly surprised by my takeout experience at Layla Jones. Ever since I moved to the area, I was highly skeptical of this neighborhood pizza joint. I couldn't answer basic (***) questions like: What is this?! Is it Detroit style? Grandma? Sicilian? Is this even going to taste good?! Being the risk averse person that I am, I decided to ditch the boring quarantine lunch of (salad / tuna sandwich / Trader Joe cauliflower rice - so hot right now, though) for a Pesto Grilled Chicken Press Sandwich from our purveyor of puzzling pizza pie. The sandwich featured thinly sliced pieces of grilled chicken breast, fresh mozzarella, and roasted red peppers on a delicious homemade panini bread. It was fantastic! Fresh ingredients, bold flavors (loved the pesto), and a solid bread-to-fillings (?) ratio! I really look forward to coming back to try their unique-style (sic) pizzas! **************** Update: Returned for the pizza. Reminds me of Ellio's, except with high quality ingredients. We ordered the Fast Eddie's Pizza... think meat lovers heaven. Pretty decent. I would order it again. read more

Sometimes you just need a brick sized amount of hot pasta, and this place does the job. I got the rigatoni with tomato sauce, mozzarella and basil, really hit the spot for when you just need a simple, but fresh and flavorful pasta dish. I went here a few months back, so I'm not able to give a more detailed description, but it was tasty. I was also eating leftovers for days and it reheated well in the microwave. $18 isn't the cheapest for a pasta dish, but for Brooklyn Heights it's on the more affordable side, plus a lot of the fancier Italian places in the neighborhood give really small portions, so you're getting a good deal. This place was really empty when I went in to pick up my food which is surprising, so definitely check them out! Judging by how fast the food was ready, I'm sure they provide fast and friendly service for dine-in customers. read more

I got the vegetable square pizza. Everything was fresh, and tasted wonderful. But the crust was very strange. It was sweet, and soft, and would not get crispy even in the toaster oven. It kind of reminded me of one of those Pillsbury pizza crusts in a can. More of a pastry than a dough. I would definitely order from here again, but with different expectations. It's not regular pizza. read more

This has always been my go-to pizza place in the neighborhood for takeout and delivery. The pizza here is always delicious. My favorites are the Sweet Jane and margherita pies (I'm a simple guy). The pizza here is a bit hard to describe - it's not really what you think of an NYC slice, nor is it really Detroit, nor is it a classic grandma. The dough is thicker than normal, fluffy, but not very oily, slightly sweet. Sauce is perfect, a mixture of tart and sweet, with sweet slightly more sweet than tart. It's kind of in a category of its own, but at the end of the day it is damn good and my ultimate comfort pizza place. Also whenever I order delivery, it always comes super fast and usually ahead of schedule. If you step inside, you can order pizza by the slice. There's some tables in the front for sit-down dining. They also have a "secret" backyard that is huge, and a perfect place to have a meal on a nice weather day. It's also not heavily advertised, but this place is BYOB! Dreaming about having a pie in the backyard of Layla Jones this summer is keeping me going through this time. read more

My favorite thin square slice in the city. My go to is their vegetable slice with mushrooms, onions, and fresh tomato chunks. Fresh, firm vegetables on a crispy crust. Their plain slice is also great. I like my pizza saucy and their slices don't look like they have much, but when you bite into it you'll find a perfect balance between cheese and sauce. Service is always sweet, my only complaint is their pepperoni slice is drenched in grease, to the point where the crust becomes limp and soggy. read more

Horrible pizza that was delivered with toppings sprinkled on top. Just a bad way to even think about pizza!

Its Pizza day at the office so we decided to order from Layla Jones. It was a hit! What a great pie. Not too saucy, although sauce was tasty. Nice amount of cheese. We ordered half pepperoni and that was a generous amount of pepperoni on the pie. The crust is great, it was chewy and soft yet a bit crispy. This may be the winner of our "go to" pizza shop! read more

Reliably good Italian comfort food at a reasonable price. Good meatballs and chicken parm in particular. Always quick too. Side note: we ordered late for pickup and very much appreciated the lady that waited after close to make sure we got our food. Thanks! read more

This place consistently delivers, unlike those big-name pizza chains. The crust and sauce are always perfect!

If Layla Jones has proven anything to me from the many times I've ordered from here, it is that it is super hit-or-miss and inconsistent. I have had extremely satisfying, hot, gooey pizza here that was unmistakably freshly baked, just as often I have gotten dried up, stale, and hardened pies from the night before. Time of your order doesn't seem to matter much as far as quality goes. Just as I thought that perhaps the key is to avoid ordering too early in the day, I had two back to back below average evening experiences. I love my neighborhood, and I try to support local businesses as much as I can, but after giving Layla Jones EIGHT chances, I will now unfortunately have to take my business elsewhere. The quality and service has really gotten quite disappointing, to say the least. read more

I can't write too much about a pizza place I've been to a handful of times despite living in the neighborhood. I can't decide if it's self service or waiter service b/c it seems to display both. On all occasions, I ordered my pizza at the small counter in the back that showcased different styles of pizza. But once seated, a super friendly worker will serve your order. It's small with a few tables and they might have patio seating but I'm not sure. I've eaten the mushroom, the cheese, and veggie slice on different visits. The crust is airy, tasty and thin enough. If I didn't forget about it at times while on Court Street, I'd visit more often because I must say, I like it and it's worth a try. read more

Always a good choice. Love their pies and the salad was tasty. They delivered it still hot.

Beautiful pizza place in the cobble hill area! -Cheese pizza ($3) standard good cheese slice -Margarita pizza ($3.50) was my favorite! The sauce was tangy and acidic. After heating up the pizza in the oven, they cut up some fresh basil to top the slice which adds such a fragrant touch! read more

My usual place was closed so I decided to try Layla Jones delivery. We ordered some kind of meat lovers and it arrived hot and delicious- we thoroughly enjoyed it. Crust wasn't my absolute fave but it wasn't bad at all. Delivery took a while but with COVID-19, circumstances are extenuating. Would definitely order again. read more

The worst restaurant. I ordered spaghetti and meatballs. It was extremely salty and when I ask for an exchange I was told I have to pay for my other order and the owner was arguing with me about the food that was clearly very salty. For about six months now, I've been eyeing Layla Jones but have yet to commit, until last night. Anyone in the Cobble Hill area likely knows this place smells FANTASTIC as you're passing by and it takes all your strength to keep walking past as you drag your feet to workout in the miserable 30 degree windy weather (No? Just me?). So, yesterday I walked in before any crowds had arrived (I usually see a solid few families in here on weeknights -- it's a small place, maybe six-eight tables total) and found this place to be extremely cozy. Warm, dim lights, holiday decor, and that lovely pizza smell. I had a whole personal Sweet Lou's Lasagna pizza to myself (except that my boyfriend had to eat a solid 1/3 of it so we could finish) -- it has a meat sauce, tomato sauce, ricotta cheese and mozzarella. The crust was my favorite part. Kind of thick, a great texture, slightly crispy on the outside and perfect on the inside. I also really liked the sauce. The personal pizza is actually decently large, at four pretty big square slices. Only a few people came in while we were there and everyone was ordering to-go (between 6-7pm), but they consistently had a LOT of orders they were leaving to deliver. Their menu states free delivery, so that's hard to beat. Their menu also says they have a backyard area which I would have NEVER known from the front. I can't wait for warm weather so I can try it out! I only wish they had beer so I could have some pizza and beer on a warm summer day outside. Here's to hoping! Overall, a solid pizza option in the area. Not my #1, but I'd go again to try some more options and have a cozy, not-so-packed dinner. read more

This is my favorite slice in NYC & BK (which is controversial to some because this is definitely not the typical BK slice). Their square pie is absolutely to die for. They cook their pizza to perfection and the sauce is INCREDIBLE. If you're looking for the best square pie in NYC/BK, this is the spot. read more

Always good. They do their own thing w it which is refreshing. Lots of pie spots around but this is a solid choice

Wow, that was just the most perfect slice. Perfect amount of everything and just enough chewiness and crunch in the crust. I love this pizza and will be coming back again. read more

Layla Jones - Spaghetti and Meatballs Lunch combo with salad and a drink all for $10.95! - Pizza Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

Review for Delivery - Whenever I'm craving pizza (usually late at night after long study sessions) my first choice is Layla Jones. My go-to is the Sweet Jane pizza which has pesto, mozzarella and romano. I then add on pepperoni. I have never had a late delivery and my pizza is always still warm when it comes to me. I love the flavor of the sauce! For the large pizza (because I like leftovers) and a drink, it does seem to add up. With 20% tip my most recent order ended up being a little over $30, but there are 8 big slices of pizza which will give me a lot of tasty leftovers. I have never been inside the restaurant so I can not review how the wait service is or how the Restruant looks, but delivery wise it has been flawless. read more

I cried the pizza was so good. I'm not a New Yorker so my pizza opinion isn't worth much but this was the best pizza I've ever had. The sauce is simple, savory and sweet. The crust, well, the crust is perfect. And the cheese is the right balance or grease, melt, and thickness. It's a small little shop in Brooklyn. No frills, just damn good pizza. read more

If you want a super crispy square slice that comes out piping hot, and is absolutely delicious, and that you can eat while the intro guitar riff of "Layla" is stuck in your head, then you need to come here. I got a regular and a pepperoni slice and they were just perfect. The crust was just the right thickness. The pepperoni was just the right amount of oily. Not the biggest restaurant, but we were in and out pretty quickly for takeout. read more

This pizza was subpar. We ordered two pizzas for delivery. The pies lacked flavor to be honest, which is difficult to say about pizza, but truly they were bland. In addition, the bottom of one of the pies was too burnt to eat so we had to eat only the scraped off toppings. Maybe the pizza is better when dining in but I certainly wouldn't order delivery again. read more

Layla's my girl.* It started out with a little bit of flirting. You know how it goes in the beginning...I'd give her $8, and she'd give me a sizable, delicious meatball parm hero for lunch. That's how they all start. Sometimes I'd go for the grilled chicken and goat cheese panini when I was feeling wild, and she'd throw in a drink too, because I'm a good listener. After the first couple trysts, we decided to go all the way. Pizza. She's into role playing (honeymoon phase, amirite guys?!)...sometimes she's Plain Jane (just sauce and cheese), and sometimes she spices it up as Sweet Jane (add a bit of pesto and romano). I'm not usually into dudes (not that there's anything wrong with that), but I gotta say...I like the meat. When Layla dresses up as Fast Eddie (pepperoni, meatballs and sausage) it's almost too much meat for me, but Sweet Lou and his lasagna combo (ricotta, meat sauce) is just right. This one time I got drunk and me, Eddie and Lou all got down together. I liked it...that stays between you and me though. To be up front though, Layla's not the best I've had in the city. Hell, she's not even the best in the 'hood (we live in a great area for slutty, delicious thin crust pies). But she's got that sauce and cheese and shapely crust (always a good combo). And she's always quick to come over when I call, and it's actually better that way. It's not that I'm embarrassed to be seen with her in public, it's just that her thicker, doughier crust doesn't lose as much (as a brick oven pie) in the box on the way over. If that sounds good to you, give Layla a call. Don't worry, I'm not the jealous type. ______________ *Please don't tell my actual girl, she'd probably shank Layla without a second thought. read more

Layla Jones offers tasty Italian comfort food. Nothing fancy here, but quite the bang for your buck. I've ordered delivery here and the portions were very generous. Is it a NY slice? No! Is it delicious? Absolutely! We stopped by in a cold night for some slices. I got one with cheese, peppers, mushrooms - it was a heavy slice lol! My husband got a cheese slice. Their square slices get heated up before being handed to you, but I could tell those were relatively fresh. Mine was so loaded with toppings it was a bit challenging to eat but no complaints here! We were really happy with our slices and would definitely come back/order delivery read more

Didn't really like my pizza from here. I was walking by and I smelled the pizza and went, I can go for a slice. Walked in, looked at what was available and settled on a slice. Side note, the employees that were working that day were super nice. read more

I had a very unfortunate experience here and it wasn't the pizza which is even worse because I wish I could give this place business again... I was accused of giving a fake $20 at which point I was told to call the cops or else they would not give me my $20 back. The issue was that they never marked the $20 with a pen so it seemed as though they were just hustling me for a $20. After insisting to mark the bill and offering to pay by card and give the money back he repeatedly said no and to call the cops. With that I again insisted to mark the bill which finally he gave in and did. The bill marked correctly and was real... I still paid by card but the experience was so ridiculous as a paying customer who loves this spot that I will never visit again. I don't warrant duping money but at least check your bills before accusing paying customers...(ex-customers) read more

SO GOOD! Our favorite pizza in the neighborhood. The first time we ordered they got the order basically completely wrong, but they sent a new pizza out and offered a refund if we wanted it so they made it right. We ordered again last Friday and the order was exactly right and just as good as the first time. I echo what everyone else says about the crust. It's kinda grandma not really Detroit style but overall just a really delish square pie with a delish sauce. So worth it! And speedy delivery. read more

Delicious unique and affordable. Very good especially for only $5 for two slices and a drink at lunch. Crust is light and airy while still having great flavor. Can't wait to come back. The interior and branding feel at odds with the quality of the product. A facelift inside and a new logo might help underscore that this isn't just another mediocre NY pizza place. read more
