The service is what pushes me to rate 4 stars, not 3. Honestly, I wasn't super impressed with the food, or the martini... but, maybe I just didn't order the right things. I didn't have steak. My partner and I shared a caesar salad, bread service, lasagna rollups and the short rib bolognese. The short rib bolognese was good, but not... knock your socks off. And the lasagna was also just good.. but too salty for my liking. The caesar salad was fine. I think the bread was my favorite part. But my partner didn't really care for it. The freezer door martini was also nothing to write home about, and they charged $30 for it. Just get a kettle one martini... actually, if anything, I thought it kind of had a weird taste to it. Maybe the brine was off? All-in-all, I guess I would come back and try some different things, maybe. But what I would absolutely come back for is the views and the bar/cocktail seating area. It was really cute, and the views were the best! Like I said at the beginning-- the service was GREAT. And I have to get credit where credit is due. Thanks for welcoming us, and making us feel at home!
Came here with a party of 10 and it took 3.5 hours to dine!! The best part is the pastas, if you are looking for a good steak this spot this isn't it. Whatever the big loaf of bread was - it was fantastic! Deserts weren't up to par, was kind of disappointed. The waiter was great but he seemed like he took forever on multiple occasions. It's bad when I have to ask for a fill on the 2 bottles of wine I had ordered. Atmosphere was second to none! Love the views and decor of the place! We got the bill and it ended up being over $4500 with a +24% surcharge. Which I'm ok with a 20% for a big party but that left a bad taste. I usually tip up to 30% but I would like to make that decision. I would have to come try it out with my wife at a smaller setting and maybe it would be better.
Dined here for a special Birthday celebration. We were seated promptly and then no one greeted us tableside for nearly 10 minutes. Once things were finally in place we then waited for a truly long time for our cocktails.. The water service was so sloppy!! The server dripped and dribbled every time at every place setting and didn't seem to care. Our food was good but appetizers and entrees were barely warm. I will say they were very accommodating for our gluten free person and the food was prepared, when possible, with that in mind. Considering that we knew this would be an expensive dinner, I really wish we had taken our business elsewhere. It was not worth the $$$$
Wow, I was so utterly surprised at this restaurant. For spending a total of $1k for three people, I expected sooo much more. I had 9:30pm reservations on the 4th of July for the prefix menu with the booth/window seating ($175 each just for the window seating) only to be sat 20 minutes late. The entire point of the reservation was to watch the start of the fireworks at 9:30pm. When asked for updates, the hostess just shrugged and said they could not do anything about it. No compensation was offered for this either. The saddest part was the food. We requested medium rare filets and received bloody, almost gelatinous rare meat. I'm not opposed to rare, but this was weirdly raw. And the seasoning was just odd. I can honestly say this was the worst fillet I've had in Texas yet. The 2 pros? Obviously the view and an adorable server. But unfortunately, these two could never draw me back to this restaurant again.
I was greeted at the top of the elevator, and the maitre d' made great small talk all the way to my table, where I was seated promptly at my reserved window seat, which had a beautiful view. The entire restaurant was beautiful. The staff are well-dressed and looked very professional. My waiter, Ignacio, was phenomenal, personable yet very professional. The staff all around were top-notch The focaccia with prosciutto and buffalo mozzarella was crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside, and it was so delicious. When they presented it, they poured olive oil on the prosciutto and mozzarella and cracked fresh black pepper to my liking. I also had the red dipping sauce, Dip in the Pot, a fresh tomato sauce with roasted garlic, chili, and basil. It was extremely flavorful, a little bit garlic forward, but who doesn't love garlic? I decided not to order any alcohol for the night, but I did get an iced tea, which was very delicious. For my main meal, I ordered the filet mignon with peperonata, peppers and olive oil. The filet mignon was so buttery soft, it almost seemed like it was going to melt in your mouth. It was so good. I also had the black truffle risotto, which was cooked perfectly. It is very savory and had a few chives on it. It was cooked phenomenally, which I believe risotto is hard to cook. I also had to order the spicy rigatoni alla vodka. That dish was phenomenal. The noodles were homemade and cooked to a perfect al dente. The sauce was velvety smooth and had a perfect bit of heat but nothing overwhelming. The flavor was very well balanced. Overall, every detail and aspect of the experience from beginning to end was perfect. You cannot ask for a better experience for dinner.
I came here for the views on the 49th floor, not so much the food. Top tier service, gotta love how they are dressed and how hospitable the staff are, A+ to them! I got the whipped ricotta with focaccia - the whipped was real good on the crispy/fluffy texture of the bread. Easily a texture heaven The drunk beach colada was nice and fruity (not balanced but a sweet cocktail nonetheless) The mommas spicy rigatoni alla vodka was creative - guanciale (pig cheek) was superb and made the sauce one of a kind. Somehow the one of a kind didn't do it for me but it was nice The chocolate cake (banana mousse, pb, banana ice cream) was outstanding. I'm not a chocolate person but it wasn't too chocolate-y so I. Would enjoy it. I ate away at the pb crunch mixed with the banana mousse - that was my favorite part.
Mother's Day brunch at Monarch. Will have to come back for dinner and check it out. Reserved the window upgraded table. Spectacular views and certainly worth it when you consider how much the brunch is going to cost anyway. Service by Thomas was personable and simply exceptional. It was definitely a nice and relaxing brunch with a fantastic view. My wife started with the Queen Bee cocktail, which she loved! I had some chamomile tea. No teabags here, just fresh leaf. For the fixed menu, there were optional upgrades with each course but your only real choice was for your entrée. We upgraded our starters with the caviar deviled eggs. They were very good and my wife thought these were the best deviled eggs she had ever tasted. The eggs were served with the first course, which was a small charcuterie board and a basket of delicious biscuits and muffins. I can't emphasize how good the biscuits and muffins were. For our entrée, we both had the lobster eggs Benedict. Not much lobster that you could taste (very small chunks) but overall it was delicious and the eggs were perfectly poached. It came with sides of pork, belly, fried potato, and Italian meatballs. My wife raved about the potato. We weren't huge fans of the other two sides though. Dessert was a spectacular strawberry shortcake. Delicious but unfortunately, very filling. Even more unfortunate we couldn't stop ourselves from consuming it. When the bill came, I was a little disappointed to see that they had already included a 20% tip in the bill for a party of two. I was going to tip more, but I hate when the tip is hidden like that. I say hidden because there was still a line for a tip that did not note it was an additional tip. It would have been easy to miss and double tipped. I assume they do that because some people must not be tipping at brunch. I'm just glad I caught it and didn't double up on the tip. I did leave an additional tip because of how well the service went and how great the meal was. Speaking of tipping, I always tip the valet, but I have not encountered where they charge me $13.50 and then want a 20 to 25% tip on top of that to park my car. Yes, I could have pushed the "custom tip" button and not tipped, but that would've been awfully awkward and it wasn't worth it on Mother's Day. Talk about tip fatigue!!The valet tip experience Just left a bad taste at the end of a wonderful brunch at Monarch. Someone should fix all this tip crapola where you can't differentiate any service or service difference. It's a negative reflection on the establishment even if it's a separate company doing the valet.
We had a wonderful experience at Monarch! This is truly a luxury restaurant with excellent service, a beautiful atmosphere, and spectacular views of Dallas. The view from the windows is especially stunning at sunset and after dark, when the city lights come on. We celebrated our birthdays here on August 16, and it made the evening feel very special. The food was delicious, the service was attentive and professional, and the entire experience felt elegant from beginning to end. We came to Dallas from Houston, so having the opportunity to enjoy the city from such an incredible viewpoint made our visit even more memorable. We left with wonderful impressions and beautiful memories. Definitely a special place for a celebration or an unforgettable evening in Dallas!
I adore Monarch! The vibes and interior are immaculate, the views incredible. The food is always a hit, and I love the spicy rigatoni--it is quite spicy!! Big fan of dinners here
My husband and I booked reservations for my birthday and we had the absolute best time. Our server DAISY was 10/10 she gave us THE ABSOLUTE BEST SERVICE!!! Everything we had was great from the wagyu carpaccio appetizer to our main entrees and family style sides. I can't say enough great things about our experience, I honestly wasn't in the mood to celebrate but I want to thank you so so much Daisy you made my birthday dinner amazing.
I visited Monarch on multiple occasions, but this past weekend was my absolute favorite. The service was immaculate. The attention to detail that we received was incredible. Now let's get into the food my friend got the chicken and I ordered and we had multiple sides as you can see in the pictures. He said his chicken was juicy and flavorful. I enjoyed my Branzino, but it was a little salty, but I believe it was because of the capers. All of our sides were top-tier. The anolini and mushrooms were amazing. I get the pasta all the time so that was to be expected. The meatballs paired with the focaccia with chefs kiss. This is a perfect place for a date night birthday dinner with friends or even a solo pull-up at the bar if you desire.
As far as nice places go this is nice. Service is top tier. The wait for the food is a little long but good for enjoying the ambiance. You have to specially REQUEST the seats with view outside. pretty quiet inside.
Dining here feels like an experience from the moment you walk in. The ambiance is stunning with strong art deco vibes that make the whole space feel glamorous and elevated. The views are incredible if you can snag a window seat, and watching the Dallas skyline while you eat really adds to the whole experience. The music was a little loud at times, but it still fits the high energy atmosphere. Service was stellar from start to finish. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and made the whole evening feel seamless. The focaccia to start was excellent. It had great seasoning and just the right amount of salt, but the whipped ricotta served with it was the real highlight. It was so creamy and flavorful that it completely stole the show. The Momma's Spicy Rigatoni alla Vodka pasta was absolutely amazing. Honestly, I liked it even more than the version at Carbone. The sauce had the perfect level of spice with a really nice heat that built slowly without overpowering the dish. The filet was also fantastic. Perfectly cooked, tender, and exactly what you hope for from a steak at a place like this. The Brussels sprouts were the only dish that felt a little underwhelming. They were decent, but compared to everything else they just did not stand out. Overall this was an incredible meal with beautiful views, great service, and some truly standout dishes. Definitely a place worth experiencing.

My sister and I had heard great things about monarch and were super excited to try it for ourselves. I loved the sparkling wine upon arrival, and all of the food was delicious. Unfortunately, the experience went from great to bad when we realized days later that they over charged us, by three times, and we are yet to get a manager on the phone to refund us our money. This dinner was all around amazing!!! We started with the crudo and it was all very fresh and our sweet waitress sent us the meatballs. Very very tasty. For dinner I got the filet and it really was the best steak I've ever had. It was melt in your mouth delicious!! We didn't get any desserts since we brought our own cake for bday celebrations. From the front doors of The National, all the way up to Monarch, we felt welcomed and important. We sat in the bar area while our table was being prepared, and it was a little loud for conversation, but the staff was incredible. Once seated, we had an amazing view of the city, and the food was mouth watering. (We were too busy enjoying the food to take any photos, but the dry aged rib eye and black truffle risotto were to die for!) We wanted a first class experience with gourmet food to celebrate a special occasion, and that's exactly what Monarch delivered! Spectacular Service. Amazing food. Attentive and Sweet Servers. Those are just a few of the good things I could say about this place. We were turned away after reserving a table for my 10yo's Birthday at Villa Azur after specifying it was a child's birthday and NOT being told that after 9pm minors aren't allowed. We went to Monarch praying to God he could save the night and he came through!! We told the server our problem and we were instantly seated at a gorgeous city view table. The moment I walked into Monarch I knew it would be an experience. We checked in at the front and were handed two champagne glasses on our way to the elevator. We made our way up to the restaurant and we're taken to our seats immediately. Every seat was taken and you could tell several people were there celebrating. As soon as we sat down, Teresa greeted us and got our drinks out. She also was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We went with all of her recommendations and had zero regrets. The wine was amazing, that's to the som! We started off with the 3 different types of crudo and then got the vodka pasta and wagyu as our entree. The vodka pasta exceeded my expectations. It was delicious and had the perfect amount of spice and sauce. The A5 wagyu was good but not great. It was lacking a bit in flavor. We ended the night with the amazing chocolate cake. It was delicious and if I wasn't so stuffed, I would've ate the entire cake. Overall the restaurant was good. I'm not sure I'd come back since there are so many other options and this specifically is a bit on the pricey side. I'm glad I was able to try it though and if you're looking to celebrate or impress a date, I'd bring them here! read more

Definately a happening restaurant. Very busy, great views if your lucky to get a window table. We ordered an array of apps, caviar, salads, pastas, main dishes and dessert. The food was pretty good but not amazing. The portion sizes were perfect, they were sold out of the souffle. My only complaint was the waiter was very all over the place and hard to get his attention if I needed anything. He was extra talkative to where he seemed too comfortable and not really professional. There was a lot of stuff on the table that should have been removed that wasnt being used, and the courses just took soo long because the waiter was slow. We asked him to have an undercooked steak that was sent back to not be cooked more and be wrapped to go, i literally watched him walk in a circle, do some random stuff, talk to another customer, he never went to the cooks. 5 min later here comes the steak after being cooked more and not in a togo dish like we asked. For the amount we were spending I just feel like the service could have been much better. read more

This restaurant lives up to the hype. I went with my girlfriend and we had an awesome experience. The food was spectacular and the drinks were good as well. Our reservation got pushed back but we sat at the bar until our table was free. The service was great and the atmosphere was pleasant with great views. Just a bummer. The vibes are awesome. The food is wonderful but it's an absolute MISS and no-go for service. We had a group of girls coming in for a 30th birthday dinner, an exciting milestone for her! I called ahead to make sure they would be able to do something special for her and was told "depends what they have around." That should've been the first red flag. We had pre dinner drinks at kessaku, then went down for our reservation. Our waitress wished her happy birthday as we had made a point to mention it for the reservation, but that was the end of the celebration. Don't get me wrong the food was great and we all enjoyed the drinks but there was multiple times our waitress was nowhere to be found...we had to ask for attention basically. I guess what I'm saying is if you're going to spend that kind of money on a fun dinner, you expect the service to be top tier. SOOO I digress. If you are celebrating ANYTHING, go somewhere else. In the future I'll stick with the Charles, Nobu or really any other high-end spot. read more

It’s applied to your dinner. But the $125 is per person. It does not include tax or gratuity.

Go somewhere else's. The food quality does not align with the cost. Better food at Parigis.
Is the view still good if you don't get a window seat?
Yes, there still some views from other tables near the window that are wonderful.
Is it possible to book a table for Saturday?
If it's not done in advance it's highly unlikely. If you want a window seat it's requires a deposit. I booked my Saturday night dinner about a month in advance.
Do children have a dress code like ? For adults the website says business casual or better.
I wouldn't bring children; that is definitely not the vibe.
Is there soft live music? I.e. Piano music etc.
No piano music. Just a restaurant with people chatting loudly.
Do you accept walk in?
I would highly discourage it. The place was full with reservations. You could probably get away with that at Catbird. Monarch does have a bar area and maybe try an extended…

For the Lasagna, it can be made without pork as long as we know 48 hours in advance. Spicy Rigatoni is another option. Thank you!
