Went here on a Saturday night and omg... so good. The space has darker lighting so it leans more romantic but it's also a great spot for a nice dinner with friends. The bar area was super crowded, we didn't sit there but I've heard it's award-winning. Also, the chandelier inside is really pretty and adds to the whole vibe. For food, I got the seared diver scallops and wow, melt in your mouth, so flavorful, just really, really yum! My friend got the tandoori spiced swordfish and liked it a lot too. We also shared the roasted maitake mushrooms as a side, which were great, and my friend tried a non-alcoholic wine and i got a mocktail, both were good options. And dessert... the baked Alaska was really good. I liked that it had banana in it, a unique touch that worked really well. A must order item! Service was impeccable. Overall, definitely a spot I can't wait to go again to for a nice night out.

Mister Charles is the fourth Duro restaurant that I have tried. I made reservations to try it on a whim with a friend. This is without a doubt 'thee' special occasion restaurant. The moment you walk in there's muted opulence everywhere both beautiful and inviting. I started with the Blue Velvet, a delicious gin and blueberry drink that's not too sweet. We ordered three Canapés: grilled cheese, lobster, and A5. The grilled cheese is a must try! There is so much umami packed in a little bite. The A5 wagyu was a solid second best. The lobster bread was rough, and the claw meat was overshadowed by celery. Next, we tried the beignets and bluefin. The bluefin was nice, especially if you like citrus. The beignets are popular for a reason, another must try item. Next, we ordered the truffle bucatini. I'm always impressed with Duro pastas. If you want a light entree, try the scallops. Every bite was heavenly. Between the sauce and the pomegranate it's a well thought out dish. We ended with the Baked Alaska and Chocolate Gateau. I was partial to the chocolate, and the coffee ice cream complemented it well. Tonya made us laugh all night, and I hope we get her again when we return. Not if, when!

We were on the wait list for a few weeks for valentines but we're lucky enough to get a spot right as they opened on Valentine's Day! The service here was incredible. We had several people servicing our table and my water glass was never empty. We constantly had someone stop by the table to ask how we were doing. They also gave each table a rose which I thought was such a nice touch for Valentine's Day. The standout menu items for me were the corn truffle beignet and the caviar chicken nuggets for appetizers. For our entree, we split a lobster bucatini and Wagyu filet with a pink peppercorn crust. Everything was absolute perfection, and the perfect Valentine's Day meal. This was definitely a meal we'll be talking about for weeks.

We had a very nice dinner here for my in-law's anniversary! Eric R. made reservations and we got in for 5:45 PM. It was already a very busy restaurant when we arrived a few minutes early. Our server Peter was great and very helpful with our questions. He brought out champagne on the house for us to cheers the anniversary couple. Eric R. and his dad got the Highland Park Pharmacy Penicillin cocktail, and I got a class of rose prosecco. My mother-in-law was not sure about drinking anything, but Peter brought her a little rose prosecco to try too. For canapes, Eric R. got the lobster roll. He joked we must have had our table bugged because every time we talked about a menu item, it seemed to come out for us to try on the house. Peter brought four grilled cheese canapes, but I declined because I do not eat pork and it has prosciutto, He sent one without prosciutto for me to try! For appetizers, we shared the corn and truffle beignets and Little Gem Caesar salad. Eric R.'s mom got the beef carpaccio but declined to share. For my meal, I ordered two appetizer menu items: the Spanish octopus and the hamachi crudo. Eric R. ordered the short rib wellington to share with his parents, who also got the scallops and the fusilli pasta with caviar. I was able to try a half scallop and some pasta, which were very delicious! For dessert, we ordered the chocolate gateau and banana semifreddo baked Alaska, but Peter sent us the other two desserts on the menu: the sundae, and the passion fruit entremet. Everything was delicious! We were very full and happy. My in-laws are considering hosting their anniversary party in the restaurant at the end of the year because they enjoyed the experience.

Pretty restaurant with good food. Great restaurant for celebrations. Would recommend. Ordered: - Corn & Truffle Beignets - This one was just ok for me. The crème fraiche made the beignets feel slightly lighter which was appreciated. - Bluefin Crudo - I always love a good crudo. The passion fruit dressing complimented the fish well. - Whole Red Snapper - Yummy, would get again. Portion wise, I felt like if this was your main dish, it is enough for one person especially since it comes with a little side carrot salad. However, we used it as a shared entree and I thought it was good dish to switch up the different flavor profiles. - Texas Wagyu Short Rib Wellington - Pretty Solid Welly. Definitely share this, at least between 2 people. We shared it between 4 people and felt like it was the perfect amount (keep in mind, I'm not a big steak person though, soooo I can only eat so much beef in one sitting) but for most people I think share this between 2-3 people would be ideal. The sauce that comes with the welly is yummy. - Pommes Aligot - Asparagus - Roasted Maitake Mushrooms - my favorite side that we had. would recommend - Baked Alaska - First time trying baked alaska. I see the hype. They made it with banana ice cream and it was yummy, reminded me of banana bread a little. - Pear Pressure - Yummy cocktail, on the sweeter side. Service was great, they also had free valet which was greatly appreciated.

Upon entering Mister Charles, the space immediately feels grand and swanky--large teardrop chandeliers, soft pastel tones, and crisp linen tablecloths set the scene. There appear to be two distinct dining areas, with the second being more intimate and moody. We didn't have a reservation, but were able to snag seats at the small bar tucked inside the smaller dining room. With only four seats, it felt almost like having our own personal bartender. We let the bartender choose our drinks, asking for something sweet and cute, and he absolutely nailed it. We started with canapés--literally one bite each, but just enough to set the tone for the meal. The corn and truffle beignets were very filling, though a touch heavy on the crème fraîche base. The Spanish octopus was the standout of the night--so tender I don't even remember chewing. The crab cake was fresh with great flavor, but we paced ourselves to save room for dessert. The chocolate cake was incredibly creamy and decadent. This place is a whole vibe. I forget the bartender's name but he took really good care of us. I'll definitely be back.

We enjoyed a fabulous meal, with attentive service, on a birthday celebration. Meal preparation was first-rate, befitting a Michelin star restaurant. Good to return next time we're in the area

we decided to get dinner here, since it was part of the visa open table deal with chase. Otherwise i don't think i would ever come here myself. We made a reservation on open table for 2 people (since they ran out of 3 person tables on the time we wanted to book), but on the note we mentioned we needed a place to have our stroller. The next day we get a note from the restaurant saying they were able to make it for a table for three... granted, we went right when it opened for dinner. We ended up getting a few appetizers and a pasta and ended it with dessert. Little Gem Caesar, Anchovy Caper Vinaigrette $22 Spanish Octopus, Patatas Bravas, Artichokes, Mojo Rojo $26 hamachi (forgot how much this cost) Clams Vongole, Casarecce, Green Garlic, Parmesan $32 Banana Semifreddo Baked Alaska $16 Out of all the items we ended up getting, i really enjoyed the little gem caesar salad. it was simple, but really fresh and refreshing to start the meal. I also enjoyed the baked alaska... They will pour liquid fire right in front of you, which is always a cool sight to see. The servers were attentive and friendly. And the interior decor was upscale but it didn't feel snobby. Parking: you can valet for free or park at the trader joes parking structure and walk over here.

I joined a girlfriend for dinner at Mister Charles, and it was a great experience overall. The cocktails were delicious, and the menu offered a nice mix of tasty and interesting options. For appetizers, we shared the chilled oysters, grilled cheese (my favorite), chicken nuggets and Corn and Truffle Beignets--each one was flavorful and well-prepared. We also split the seared scallop entrée along with a side of pommes aligot, the restaurant's take on mashed potatoes. I loved all the food, though I will say the pommes aligot, while good, didn't quite stand out from more traditional mashed potatoes. Next time, I'd be curious to try a different side

Moved to Dallas & scouted out all the Michelin recommended restaurants. Friends suggested Mister Charles. It's date night, we absolutely starving and ended up ordering a feast, and every single dish was worth it. We started with nearly all of the canapés (no chicken nuggets, haha). The Chilled Oysters with Strawberry Ponzu and Finger Lime were bright and refreshing, the Grilled Cheese with Truffled Cheddar and Prosciutto was decadent, the Ossetra Caviar & Egg Salad on Brioche felt luxurious, the Lobster Roll canapé was deliciously buttery, and the A5 Striploin on Brioche with Wasabi was melt-in-your-mouth good. Honestly, the canapés alone make this place worth visiting! For entrées, we shared the Beef Wellington, Whole Red Snapper Milanese, Tzatziki & Carrot Salad, and the lobster/uni pasta (can't remember the exact name, but it was incredible). Everything was beautifully seasoned, cooked perfectly, and plated with so much intention. Dessert was the Banana Semifreddo Baked Alaska, which was the perfect finish, creamy, light, and super unique. For drinks, the Highland Park Pharmacy Penicillin and Crime of Passion were both fantastic, balanced cocktails. Service was great, the atmosphere felt upscale but fun, and the whole experience genuinely lived up to the hype. Can't wait to come back and try more!

Mister Charles absolutely lived up to the hype. We came on a weekday with reservations, and from the moment we sat down, the experience felt special. ATMOSPHERE: Elegant in that classic, softly lit way. White tablecloths, beautiful plating, and a space that feels both upscale and comfortable. It's the kind of dining room where you can actually enjoy a conversation without shouting. FOOD: The roasted chicken dish was beautifully presented with fresh greens and a rich, savory sauce that tied everything together. The pasta was just as impressive: perfectly cooked with a hearty, slow-simmered flavor, topped with creamy dollops of cheese and crisp herbs for texture. Both plates showed a lot of attention to detail and balance. SERVICE: Polished and attentive throughout the evening, making the whole dinner feel smooth and not rushed. Overall, Mister Charles is a fantastic choice for a refined date night or a celebratory dinner. Great food, great ambiance, and a place I'm already excited to return to.

Wow! Just Wow! Amazing food, amazing and engaging service, great atmosphere, it's just Wow! There was a small group of us so we had a lot of food: my favorites were the Carpaccio, the Swordfish, the mashed potatoes and broccolini sides and the Baked Alaska.

We started with the beef carpaccio along with the grilled cheese and lobster roll canapés. All three were excellent. The carpaccio was incredibly fresh and the canapés were the perfect little bites to start the meal. For dinner we had the beef Wellington with the cheesy mashed potatoes, which were both fantastic. The Wellington was cooked perfectly and the pastry was delicate and crisp. We paired everything with a great Chablis and a Ketel One martini with blue cheese olives which was exactly what I wanted. The service really stood out. Our group had to add two extra guests about an hour before our reservation and they handled it without any issue at all. The music was also at the perfect volume, which sounds small but makes a big difference when you're trying to enjoy a conversation. Top notch all the way around. Food, service, and atmosphere were all excellent. I'll absolutely be back.

Is there any bread option available to order or bread served at the table?

Bread is not served at the table and when I went on Friday there wasn't bread on the menu, but there were some sandwich canapés

Is it a place you can go and sit and their lovely bar and just have apps and drinks? Do you need reservations for that?

The bar is first come first serve, but you may enjoy the full menu there.

Often times after it's all said & done, you wonder - was that worth it? Thankfully, that is NOT the experience I had at Haywire! I ate here on August 9th, 2025 and enjoyed everything about it. I was with a large party but would love to return for a more intimate experience. On this Saturday, my younger cousin was graduating from Parker University so I was in town for the weekend. At around 1pm, I was one of the first to arrive at the restaurant. Unfortunately the parking is a bit confusing. There was construction being done on the same street when I went but there's a parking garage for customers that's difficult to navigate AND the elevator that connects wasn't operating at the time which was an issue for many (but not me, I got a good spot & walked). My party hadn't all arrived yet so I took a gander. Upon entering the tall doors, the space breathes southwestern elegance: wooden structure, leather seating, separate dining areas with highlighted ranch-style art. The abundance of space gives it an open-concept feel. The lighting fixtures are modern, the space was dim but not too low, with an option to utilize the large windows also. I was quiet impressed at the overall presentation. When my party did arrive, I wanted to keep it simple so I ordered the Chicken Cobb Salad and a Hibiscus Haze with Vodka. The table shmoozed as we ate some of the appetizers: the Crab Dip & Green Tomatoes, both amazing. The food did take some time but, considering it was 10-12 of us, that's expected. The Hibiscus Haze was splendid: smooth & flavorful, a great concoction. Cobb salads are usually pretty thick but this one was HEARTY. It came in a large bowl stuffed with the all the toppings. The dressing it was tossed with was well balanced but could've used a tad bit more. With some pepper & a little ranch, I was set! I defeated the salad but it also left me stuffed to the gills. Satisfying meal that I would order again! There are tons of restaurants to dine at in Dallas & sometimes you never know which is worth your time. Despite the inconvenience of parking, I'd bet my bottom dollar that this is a good place to eat. Whether you want a fine dining experience, it's a special occasion or just want a good drink with a meal, Haywire has enough to satisfy all interests.

Knowledgeable about the menu & great recommendations. Kev was a joy to have as our server. The food is amazing & love the ambiance of the restaurant. My only complaint...we came in early Saturday prior to Stars game. The restaurant wasn't busy at all. We were asked if we had a reservation. We did not, the restaurant wasn't busy at all. We were asked to wait. Waited maybe 5-10mins. No biggie, A lot of open tables were available for immediate sit down. Again that wasn't a big deal. I had asked for a booth & wanted to sit in front room. The hostess said no a problem. She handed us off to a younger hostess and she took us to a table. I told her I had requested a booth. In the front room only 3 tables were occupied. I pointed out the booth and she said that's for party of 6. However, we could have the 1/2 table/booth. Made absolutely no sense because that was for a party of 6 as well. I made this comment & she just stared at me without saying a word. I didn't want to seem difficult and took the table as she just walked away. Kev was confused as we were. No good communication skills. It was an awkward encounter. The restaurant wasn't busy at all & never was whole time there. Kev wasn't sure why she didn't move us a requested & was puzzled himself. However i apologized to him & explained I wasn't trying to be difficult, but prefer booth sitting and most times we will wait for one. We left at 1:45p and restaurant was no busier than when we arrived. Reservation/Booth or not! I guess saying all of this, your front staff need to have more people skills when dealing with your customers. They are the face and first point of contact. Again Kev was amazing & food was outstanding!

I was worried for a bit because of how milky it is, but it was a pleasant surprise! Overall, the experience was astounding! We definitely want to come back for their Home Alone night!

If you're looking for a spot that actually nails the "coffee by day, cocktails by night"…read moretransition, Halcyon is it. It's got that airy, high-ceiling energy that's perfect for getting work done without feeling like you're trapped in a cubicle. The Vibe: It's cool without trying too hard. You'll see local art on the walls and plenty of natural light. By day, it's a laptop paradise with lo-fi beats; by night, the lights dim, the music picks up, and the patio becomes the place to be--especially if you have a dog in tow. Happy Hour (3 PM - 7 PM Daily): This is the real draw. Their Espresso Martini is a local legend, but the Chocolate Espresso Martini is the move if you want something decadent. If you're there on a Tuesday, they run happy hour prices all night. Don't sleep on the $5 pimento grilled cheese--it's the ultimate "I'm not that hungry but I need a snack" food. The People: Expect a very "Lower Greenville" crowd: a mix of productive millennials, SMU students with headphones on, and groups of friends sharing s'mores kits (yes, you can roast them at your table). The staff is laid-back and friendly, though they definitely stay hustling during the weekend brunch rush. Bottom line: It's reliable, unpretentious, and arguably the best spot on the block to switch from a latte to a lager without changing seats.

However they were attentive and the overall ambiance was nice and upbeat for a brunch place. Food wise, everything here was average. Nothing stood out as something I absolutely would come back for. We got two Benedict's that were not very warm and has hollandaise/gravy that was not very flavorful but the home fries were seasoned and fried well. The French toast was quite good but was very obviously put in the microwave right before serving with a steaming hot center. The best part was the blueberry kale salad which had a nice vinaigrette and the cashews were a nice touch. Overall, with the number of brunch spots in Dallas I would reserve halcyon for study/coffee spot as opposed to a must try weekend brunch.

Cute little French bistro with a warm, casual vibe. I've been here many times for brunch and lunch,…read morebut this was my first visit for dinner. Our server was bubbly, friendly, and full of great recommendations. We started with the charcuterie board, followed by the escargot, and then the foie gras. The foie gras was the standout--unexpectedly silky, creamy, and buttery, paired perfectly with fig marmalade. I practically licked the board clean. For my entrée, I ordered the grilled halibut, which was tender and flaky with great flavor, served over crisp greens and potatoes. Everything worked beautifully together. We finished with the sticky toffee pudding, which unfortunately was too dense and difficult to eat. Aside from that, it was a really enjoyable meal, and I'll definitely be back.

The night started beautifully--we enjoyed espresso martinis at the bar and were then seated at one of our favorite tables. We ordered a bottle of wine and caviar and were settling in to plan the rest of our meal when the experience took a turn. A tween/teen birthday party was seated in the private room. At first, we assumed the noise was just initial excitement and would settle after a few minutes. The parents of the birthday girl were seated nearby, and when the mother got up, we expected she might ask the girls to lower their volume. Unfortunately, the opposite happened--she brought the group out into the main dining room for photos, where the noise level became even more disruptive. Another couple seated near us--at what is typically a very desirable table--lasted no more than five minutes before asking to be moved outside. Shortly after, a manager approached the private room. We anticipated they would address the noise, but instead, they greeted the party warmly and thanked them for being there, without making any effort to manage the disruption. After so many consistently great experiences, it was honestly shocking. We truly felt as though we were being punked. My boyfriend and I both have children and enjoy bringing them to nice restaurants, but part of that experience includes ensuring they understand and respect the environment. When that standard isn't upheld--especially with no support from management--it significantly detracts from the experience for everyone else.
