I really love this spot because it's everything you need in one space. It's a coffee and matcha house with fresh pastries. It's a breakfast bistro with bacon and eggs. It's a lunch spot with sandwiches and a glass of wine or a cocktail. It's the perfect place to work on your laptop or read a book, but also to take a casual date or your family for breakfast. They have a gluten free bread option (woohoo) and I've had both their avocado toast and the fried egg breakfast sandwich (with added avocado haha). Both are sooo good. The avocado toast comes with smoked salmon, which I do like, but I'm more of a basic avocado toast person. It also has a little pico de gallo and red pepper flakes! The breakfast sandwich is 2 over easy eggs, bacon, cheddar cheese, and tomato on sourdough (I subbed gluten free bread and added avocado) with a side of breakfast potatoes. It's a lot of food -- super filling and delicious. I also recommend their iced latte with whatever house-made syrup your prefer (usuals like caramel, vanilla, mocha, and then not-so-usuals like coconut pandan, lavender, brown sugar date, etc.). Cool spot with lots of great events but the drinks are definitely overpriced. I'd avoid the matcha completely.. $9 and tastes like matcha flavored milk. I usually don't judge matcha by color but this probably needs like double the matcha to be worth the price. It actually tastes really bad. I appreciate that the barista whisked it by hand and it wasn't just poured from a pitcher but not good at all. The food is okay but hit or miss. We tried halcyon for weekend brunch! The wait staff were not rude by any means but were quite low energy/unwarm. However they were attentive and the overall ambiance was nice and upbeat for a brunch place. Food wise, everything here was average. Nothing stood out as something I absolutely would come back for. We got two Benedict's that were not very warm and has hollandaise/gravy that was not very flavorful but the home fries were seasoned and fried well. The French toast was quite good but was very obviously put in the microwave right before serving with a steaming hot center. The best part was the blueberry kale salad which had a nice vinaigrette and the cashews were a nice touch. Overall, with the number of brunch spots in Dallas I would reserve halcyon for study/coffee spot as opposed to a must try weekend brunch. read more

The orange juice was good -- not my absolute favorite, but still refreshing. I ordered the skillet and my partner went with the breakfast burrito. Both were solid choices and full of flavor. We customized each dish a bit, and they came out exactly how we wanted, which is always appreciated. The whole place has a cool, relaxed vibe. You can tell it's the kind of spot people actually enjoy hanging out in. They even do date night Fridays with a movie and hot chocolate, which we definitely want to come back and try. We both decided on caffeine instead of cocktails tonight, but their cocktail menu looked delicious! The gentleman manning the bar was really helpful in answering questions and getting us started. Both got 160z lattes, plain, his with oat milk and mine with almond milk. They were served in for-here ceramic mugs. The temperature and taste were both perfect. We had an absolute blast competing in trivia night and thought the emcee did a wonderful job. We wished we could have stayed for the second game, but needed to get home. The ambiance of the place was much more spacious than we expected. There were a mix of high-top tables, booths, low top chair tables, comfortable chairs and I think I saw a couch too. The music was just the right volume to be able to study or carry on a conversation. I frequent Halcyon because it is such a great place to get some work done during the day. It's a very cozy lounge with multiple outlets so you can plug in your electronics. I've ordered a bunch of things on the menu but my favorite is the mimosa flight that they have. The service is okay to me, the people at the front are not always the friendliest unfortunately but I just order and keep it pushing. The only con is the parking!!!! The lot is shared by multiple businesses so that can be annoying if you don't come on time. read more

We ordered their Elvis French Toast, Vegan Skillet, Vegetarian Skillet, and a 7 Choice Skillet. Everything was fresh and delicious. The toast is sour dough and comes with house made jam. I would also suggest ordering their mocha latte w/ Oat Milk too with the meal (very good). We arrived 10:30 am on a Sunday but the wait was minimal (20 minutes). Parking can be a challenge but not horrendous. I would suggest you come earlier than 10:30 am. Ambience is nice with seating inside and out. Kid friendly and dog friendly for the outdoor seating area. Cost is good and portion are good enough. You might want to order more if you are a big eater or very hungry (thus the 4 Stars). read more

The vibes at Halcyon are THERE! We had an Airbnb in the area and walked in and we're immediately enthralled by the decor. There's so many beautiful plants that I couldn't help but stare at. The place itself is spacious, with lots of natural lighting, giving it a great vibe. Plenty of people were there working, studying, having meetings, or just enjoying the atmosphere. They even have board games, trivia nights, events, and drag shows. The employees were very friendly and helpful with our many questions. We enjoyed their Thai Coffee, iced green tea, plenty of yummy cocktails, turkey club, and margarita flatbread. The cocktails were delicious. I enjoyed the strawberry jalapeño margarita and the Becky with the ok hair. Both were well balanced and refreshing drinks. My fiancé enjoyed the berry white and an old fashioned. He said the cocktails were made well. The food was ok. Just ok. The turkey club was good, but very salty. I had to remove some of the deli meat to take away the saltiness. My fiancé said his flatbread was fine, but tasted bland and store bought. It was disappointing considering the interior is so charming and the drinks were delicious. Parking, doable, because there is a parking lot across the street, but it is shared with another restaurant, so you may have to park on the street. I came here specifically for the mimosa flight because my friend had tried it and told me how tasty they were. You can choose up to 4 different types of mimosas, and they have a large variety to try. I tried the thai basil, the apple cinnamon, mango chili lime, and the lemon lavender. My favorites were the apple cinnamon and the mango chili lime. I wasn't planning on getting anything to eat, or I wanted to eat something really light, but they didn't have oatmeal or anything like that. So, of course, the only option was to get beignets because that's a healthy breakfast of champions. Four come in an order, and you can add chocolate sauce, strawberry sauce, or caramel sauce. But when I ordered food, of course, my daughter wanted to order food too. She got the chocolate chip pancakes and a side of bacon. And because I'm on her mother and wanted to make sure that she wasn't poisoned, I had to taste the bacon, and it was perfectly cooked. I was really hoping that she did not want all of it, but she devoured it, so I only got a taste. Popped in to meet a friend for lunch on a Thursday after noon and I must say, I've been missing out. I've driven by this place numerous times just didn't know what I have been missing!! So there is free parking behind Val's cheesecake - don't let this be the reason you don't go - and the menu isn't just coffee and baked good that you would get at other shops. They have a diverse menu and if I must say, Matt whips up a pretty damn good drink. You order at the counter, pick up your own drink from the bar and seat yourself . . . Basically what I'm telling you is there isn't a waiter coming over every five minutes asking can they get you anything else. This is like the coffee shop where you can relax, hang out and drink because the zoom meeting lasted longer than it needed to. I had the chicken biscuit which had a little spice a little sweet and was just enough. I washed that down with mimosa flight - which I was surprised with the options and all were yummy!
