Great service and food. I do not recommend the valet service since it is a 3rd party. My truck was stolen and I know this is common for Dallas, TX. To many things seem coincidental with the theft of the vehicle that night. The manager has asked me to email her. I have emailed with no response. At any rate the food and service was great, and realize they can not control the the 3rd party valet service, but no other contact has been made to follow up. It was a travel day so we were on the hunt for brunch, what i failed to realize it waa a friday! So apart from this hiccup we looked over the rest of the menu and selected an appetizer and entree. Did you see the onion cup craze with the soup dumplings? If not, let me fill you in. Silly ole me asked if onion cups could be provided and the resturant obliged, thank-you! Now for the taste test. The shrimp and pork dumplings were well packed with the protein. They dressed it well in sauces too! As I placed my dumpling in the onion cup i can say the sharpness of the onion meshed well. The crunch also brought another level texture to a soft dumpling. Now this is usually done with soup dumplings but when I say its a trend it ended diverting from the original post. Regardless, the restaurantet let me be silly and I appreciated it! As for our pizza, not to sound like im a pizza critic but this was a good one. The slice held well the toppings were fresh, especially the basil! It was thin and airy. They do not have a brick oven in case you were wondering. It didn't matter to me. I enjoyed my pizza! My husband and I came here over lunch and had amazing service and GREAT food! Everything was made to order. The manager came out (because it was taking a little bit) and said a croquette broke when they were making one of our meals and had to remake it. We did not think the wait was long by any means, but it goes to show they take pride in getting their meals out to tables quickly. We had a great experience here for dinner. We were just driving the area looking for a new place to try when we found it. A rare place on Henderson that is good and actually has parking available. So, we tried it. Walking in we were taken back by the open-spacious feel of the place. They have a lot of woods used throughout, which gave the place a nice earthy feel. The service was really good. While we had a person who introduced herself as our server, this place seems to work on a team concept. We had no less than 4 servers throughout the course of our visit. It worked fabulously. When going tk a new restaurant, I always ask what's the best thing in the menu. I was told the crispy loaded potatoes and the seared chicken - so that's what I ordered. Both were so, so delicious! There a hint of heat to the chicken dish so be sure to read the menu description, but it didn't bother me. The interior is wonderful! Walls of windows is always a plus for me. Warm wood with other textures Om the wall to break up the wood being the dominate force. Great lighting to set a fun atmosphere. read more

This is Americana bar cuisine with a twist. Plenty of people watching with dogs to boot. I used to live in the area and had been meaning to try this place for years. TVs played sports at a noise level that complimented the music. With a place that has floor the ceiling windows, you need shades to accompany the sun setting. I had us sat in a booth high top which felt elevated. I enjoyed seeing the open kitchen view and varied menu. Ordering was a breeze. We had a diet Coke and Redbull -peach flavor. My LPE Greens option came with balsamic dressing. It did feel a little like 'Girl Dinner'. I asked for it on the side with a side of avocado and got the wrong dressing. When I asked for a to-go dressing, I got a different dressing there as well. My friend seemed satisfied with his pepperoni pizza pie. I'll be back to try their Happy Hour during a game. FIFA is on its way! Parking is wild. We were there on a weekday and there wasn't valet as an option. I was able to find a spot near Salt Straw. There are some street parking spots. Mind the signs. Finding a parking spot was hard during dinner time! The lot was packed and I had to drive through it twice, along with some other cars looking for a spot; but, fortunately someone walked to their car on my second time through so I lucked out with a good spot. I came for an event and so I was seated pretty quickly. But, it took awhile for a server to come by even to offer water; I'm not sure if it's because she was waiting for more people to show up to my table or what, but the hostess noticed and got her to eventually come. The atmosphere was very loud and lively during dinner time. The spacing seemed decent between the tables, so it didn't feel crowded where I was seated. After months of anticipation, I finally visited this popular local spot in the Henderson area of Dallas, Texas. With so many glowing videos and reviews online, my expectations were high--though I was prepared for a long wait. Right from the start, there were red flags. There was no hostess at the front, so the bartender had to step out from behind the bar to seat us and hand us menus. Walking in on a Sunday afternoon at 2:00 PM to find the restaurant only about 35% full was not a great sign. Our waitress took a full 23 minutes to even greet our table--we almost walked out. She wasn't busy either; I saw her folding napkins at the bar with the other servers while we waited. When she finally took our drink order, I asked about their well tequila and was surprised to hear they use Toro. Most restaurants (even non-high-end ones) pour something a little better. For food, I ordered the Spicy Chicken Sandwich, which I actually preferred from Chick-fil-A. The Poke Bowl was just okay, but the Carnivore Pizza was by far the best thing we tried. After we finished our food, the waitress immediately asked if we were ready for our bill, like she was eager to close out our tab. We told her no and ended up ordering two more rounds of drinks. If I were the server, I would have been trying to sell more items, not rushing to close the table. In my opinion, if the food isn't outstanding, the price and service need to make up for it. Unfortunately, we didn't find either one worth returning for. It's a great location and potential, but they're missing the mark. Lowering the prices, or is ok on the price but better food for what we order and improving the service, and maybe adding a live DJ for Sunday brunch could help turn things around. read more

I have a rule: If you're selling a Modelo draft for $8 dollars, you're not getting a 5-star. Local Public Eatery caters to the "public" of Highland Park and Southern Methodist sorority girls. The cheapest thing on the menu is the $18 chicken sandwich, cocktails start at $16, and the server upsold me ranch by... lying?? "Do you want ranch on the side?" she asked, not telling me it'd be $3 dollar "truffle ranch" when Ranch = Hidden Valley in 99% of America. The food and service was otherwise decent but there's nothing I dislike more than greedy restaurants that take advantage of SMU kids' Dad's wallets at the expense of normal folk (Looking at you too Javier's). Next time I want basic American food I'll go to a basic American place, perhaps where Modelo drafts are priced at an appropriate $5. read more

The portions didn't feel like they matched the price as the salad I got wasn't very big compared to salads at other spots in the area. My fiancée got the local burger, and the patties had a notably smaller circumference than the giant bun which he said ruined it a bit as the eating experience and bun to meat ratio was off. Went to LPE last Saturday for brunch. Sat at the very open bar (it was raining so i get it) and the bartenders couldn't care any less. As soon as we sat down it's "what do you want". We ordered a mimosa tower which came luke warm and was served with water glasses? We thought this may be normal but then saw other guests had wine glasses. I understand a mimosa tower will get warm after a while but the drinks came out very warm just from the start. We weren't checked on after we got our food for about 45 minutes which definitely felt crazy when there was 5 people at the bar. Another thing that was crazy was the amount of time i saw servers waiting for drinks in the middle of the restaurant on their phone, even crazier was managers standing next to them lol. Substituted cheddar cheese and had the side Caesar salad instead of fries. That was a nice substitute at no extra charge. The patties were made with quality meat. Decided to try this place for brunch. Restaurant is huge with a lot of screens so it a perfect spot to watch your favorite team play and have good food and cocktails inside or on the patio. I ordered fully loaded crispy potato, fried chicken ramen and pepperoni supremo. Everything was good except the chicken. It barely had any meat, covering was hard and meat was over fried which made it really chewy but the miso soup, noodles and charred corn combination was really good so giving that dish 2.5/5. If this place isn't packed from open to close, I have a theory. Their prices are about 15% higher than comparable restaurants. Also, their wine pours are poor IMO. Your new favorite spot! I got a chance to preview Local Public Eatery before it opens on September 26, and trust me when I say, you'll love it! Starting from the moment you walk in, it feels like a brewery with eclectic decor, multiple TVs, and bar in the center. The staff is very welcoming and friendly with everything from greeting to recommendations and everything in between! For drinks, I tried the Spicy Guava Marg, Aperol Crush, and peaches and Beam slush. The spicy Guava marg was well balanced and tasted fresh as opposed to that sweet & sour flavor that most margs have. The aperol crush was good; however, I will say that it is sweeter than a traditional aperol spritz so if you prefer a more earthy/floral flavor it may not be the one for you. Lastly, the peaches and Beam slush was so good that I could've drank it straight from the blender as the peach flavor was tastefully balanced with the richness of the Jim Beam. For food, we tried the spicy garlic edamame, truffle burger with fries, and fish tacos with house salad. The spicy garlic edamame only had a slight bit of heat but was well complimented with the sweet notes in the sauce. The fish tacos had flavorful and well battered fish and crunchy slaw. My only note would be that a vinaigrette or more sauce would've taken it to the next level, but the house side salad was PERFECT! The dressing is similar to a sweet poppyseed vinaigrette and is similar to something you would get at a nice sandwich shop with lots of vegetables! Now for the star of the show: the truffle burger! I was catching up with a friend while there and up until the point of having the burger, you could not get us to stop gabbing back and forth, but that burger had us at a loss for words. It was juicy, flavorful, slightly Smokey, and earthy all between 2 fluffy fresh buns! This is truly a staple restaurant that the Henderson neighborhood needed and I can't wait to watch them grow! read more
