Friday night was a big disappointment. Starting with the valet upon arrival 2 young men standing outside right in front of my car and even made eye contact with me through my window and neither one of them opened my car door. They just stood there and stared at me. I thought that was odd as anywhere we go for Valet, the attendant immediately walks over to the passenger's door and opens it, especially if you are all dressed up and show up in a luxury car. Next, we were given a table for 4 instead of a table for 2 as requested. My husband booked the table weeks ago. When he called back to make sure we were at a table by the window for 2, they required a $250 credit card deposit to ensure you spent that much on food and drink. When we were seated, it was a table for 4, and we were very far apart from each other. Next, we waited 25 minutes for a waiter to come and ask us If we wanted any appetizers or even water. We waited way too long for drinks. We asked for bread 3 times before it was delivered. The staff finally got us moved to a smaller table right after we were given bread and our drinks. My husband asked, " Do we just get up and walk over to the new table, and you will bring all of our food and drinks to us?" They said yes. Well, that did not happen; once again, we were still waiting on bread; they said they would make new bread and fresh drinks. We just wanted the ones that were delivered to us moments ago - there was nothing wrong with them, and there was no reason for them to dump them out and start over vs just bringing them right behind us to our new table. very irritated. Finally, at the end of our meal, a waiter comes over and brings me a custom menu that says Happy Birthday, Bebe we asked" Who is Bebe?" and he said "That's you!" and we sai,d "no, my name is Not Bebe", he said, "I'm sorry, I'll fire the guy in the back, you were given the wrong birthday printed menu". so it was just one mistake after another. The food was good, but the quality of service and the staff as well as their appearance was NOT ok for a restaurant you have to pay upfront with a credit card to make sure you spend $125/per person. I have had more attentiveness from the staff at Texas Roadhouse than I did it this restaurant. Kids running up and down the aisles. At the end of the evening the Maitre D did ask us how we enjoyed our evening and we told him that we will not be coming back. He took us up to the 50th floor and bought us a drink for our inconvenience, which was nice. read more

We had an outstanding evening. The food and the service was fantastic. Every item we ordered was great. The prawns, halibut, filet, qnd especially the pasta. To top it off the souffle was top notch. Something we rarely find in Dallas. We will surely be back. We had some of the best cocktails we have ever had as well. Gabriel did a great job listening and providing great recommendations. Gave it at least 2 stars because the food was excellent but the service was not great. My waiter never asked me if I wanted another glass of wine. I had to ask for my second glass and was embarrassed he never even offered to get me another one. Spent 400 dollars and the service was horrendous. Came here for some dinner and drinks with a couple girlfriends. We had really great service! The host we met walking in was super sweet and brought us our drinks too! Went for my boyfriend's birthday and I even let them know ahead of time it was a special occasion. From the get go the experience was bumpy, our reservation was at 8:30 but they come get us to be sat till about 9. When they are trying to seat us they realize that the table meant for us is still taken, so Sally tries to accommodate us giving one free drink, offering to let us upstairs later that night, and finding us a new table. The new table is one in the waiting lounge. People were standing near our table all night waiting to be sat and looking out the window. (the whole time we were waiting the table was open, indicating to me it's the last table they try to use) Our hostess had also became our waitress which felt like they didn't have enough staff to serve us. After these few bumps we get started on dinner, My boyfriend got the aged ribeye, and they brought out a difference piece of steak, we got it corrected but he had to wait another 15 minutes or so for his steak. When the steak was brought out our server let us know she would be covering the cost due to the inconvenience (it didn't happen). So after paying and waiting we let our server know Sally told us we could go upstairs, in which she replied that she would let sally know and she would walk us upstairs. We were waiting for about 20 minutes and sally walked by us multiple times so we just ended up leaving and going to cat bird for a drink. I had the pleasure of trying this restaurant for the first time on Christmas. The first thing that catches your attention is the ambiance! Fresh smells swirl the air as you walk in. The lighting, decor, and floral arrangements are gorgeous! The most stunning part is the 360 view of downtown Dallas from every angle of the restaurant. All of the servers were highly attentive making sure you had the best experience. The Comte Crusted Filet Mignon was cooked to perfection. The overall presentation of the food was beautiful. As soon as you walk into the building you are offered a glass of champagn, a signal that this is a special place. We were seated at a table next to the window, which ensured stellar views but also came with loud music that was, frankly, awful. The seats were right under the speakers. We complained and were told the music was as low as they were allowed to set it. This was unfortunate, but they almost made up for it with amazingly crunchy bread and a whipped ricotta cheese mix that was out of this world. We got 2 appetizers, the grilled shrimp, which was wonderful and the Fritto Mix of calamari and shrimp and smelt. This was good, but not especially noteworthy. Entrees were the Parmesan Veal Chop, Lobster SpaghettI, Filet Mignon and Halibut. The veal chop could easily feed 2 and was melt in your mouth tender in some places; Lobster Spaghetti was my dish and I thought it was outstanding, Halibut was way too salty, practically inedible; and the filet which was served in medallions, was excellent. Service was smooth and as you would expect in a restaurant of this caliber. Other than the Halibut and the loud music (why??) this was a superb dinner. Very overpriced wine list BTW read more

I've gone here 3 times since they've opened. The vibes are unmatched. The food is probably the best I've literally ever had at a fine dining restaurant. Every single dish I've had was so good, my favorite has been the meatballs, fritto misto and the short rib bolognese. Went for anniversary dinner and expected more ambiance than what what was there- a noisy crowded restaurant and for a Sunday night that was not what we were looking for. It is way over priced so I guess you have to take care of the nice glass of champagne that you are greeted with when you check in downstairs before walking over to the elevator. Be sure and check the prices before ordering your cocktail because my husband usually orders a smoking drink and here they charge $200 for it but it is listed on the menu so know ahead of time. Some items are Very expensive and meant to be shared so be aware. It was good but dark so the waiter had to bring over an alternate light source which was very disappointing but helpful so we could read the menu. They said they do it all the time because some tables do not have enough lighting to read the menus. The food was good but not good enough to go back. We won't and next time will enjoy Kenny's Italian or Capital Grill instead with much less hassle. read more

This place was EVERYTHING I could ask for in food prep/presentation, ambiance, service, taste, etc. My son brought me here for my birthday dinner and I was thoroughly impressed. I ordered the wood fired branzino which was absolutely AMAZING!! He ordered the Veal Parmesan and said it was just "okay". We also ordered mushroom risotto which was cooked to perfection. I flew to Dallas for a quick buddies trip, for food and football. A local friend recommended monarch so with only one night in town that's where we went. The atmosphere was great, server was great, all the presentation of the food was, so in point. It was like watching a culinary orchestra for service. However, the food and flavors were a less on point and fell short of all the hyped delivery and presentation. Our favorite item was the meatballs and the arugula salad (which I hate arugula and yet I had to try it and was really pleased I did), The shortfalls were with steak, scallops and the veal, great sourced cuts of meat, but in flavors were ok but the over salting over powered our taste buds. We celebrated our anniversary at Monarch tonight and everything was amazing, from the complimentary valet, champagne greeting, service, views, and most of all the incredible food. Our expectations were cautiously high and they were exceeded. The true mark of a first class restaurant is consistency over time. Can they knock it out of the park again? I hope so! We will be back to find out. We had the prosciutto and mozzarella salad with rosemary "beignets" that warmed our soul. Dinner included the lobster spaghetti, black truffle risotto, and halibut. Came here as a "now we're vaccinated" meal. Staff here is very friendly and accommodating. The restaurant sits at top of a building, so if you're lucky enough to sit by the window, you will have amazing views. I did not get this lucky, but you can go to the bathroom to take in a view lol. I mentioned that to the manager and he told me he joked with his staff about setting up a table in the bathrooms. For starters, we ordered the Prawns, Wagyu Carpaccio, and Crudo. Everything was great. Main meal we shared the salted fish and honestly it was underwhelming. I felt it was somewhat bland compared to their appetizers. They presented it at the table and I thought it was going to be served in that method, but they take it back and filet it for you. The fish was a Texas Bass from what our server described. If I were to come back, I think I would just order everything from the appetizer menu. We had a relative tell us that their appetizers are better than their main courses. read more

Jennifer reached out regarding our first experience asking to allow her to show us the true Monarch experience. Oh my, it was by far night and day different. At this point I won't even mention the original again. But I will say, our time last evening was nothing short of AMAZING from start to finish. When we arrived, we were greeted with champagne and escorted to the elevator. Even the attendant there was super nice. We were prompted seated with a stunning view. James (our server) was attentive and the entire team was on top of everything. The food: Charcuterie (that honey butter is to die for); the ahi tuna and salmon sashimi along with the wavy beef on the crostini were amazing; the meatballs are the best; the ribeye is a MUST! We had an awesome time getting to know Josiah (manager). The attention to detail, the wonderful conversations, the view, the food, the drinks, you name it. It was wonderful. After waiting to be searing for our supposed wonderful view that we paid for, we were put in a corner next to a large party of loud people who literally had their phone in the center of the table watching the boxing match.
