DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT RENT HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This place is absolutely horrible and the worst mistake you will ever make for a rental. This is a family owned storage and they are disrespectful, they also live on the property. There is an older lady, heavy set dude and the older ladies "son" who is a heavy set dude with tattoos who will threaten you. They will literally deny you access to your unit for whatever reason they feel like it. We had our unit TWO days and decided to take ALL of our stuff out and move to a different storage company. The heavy set dude with tattoos will put his hands on you and threaten you with "you don't want to go down this road or watch what happens" then when the cops come he tries to play like he is innocent. The older lady instigates issues and will LITERALLY lie and make stuff up to make you seem like you're the one who is causing issues it's ridiculous. If you want to change your lock be prepared to be denied access to your unit and then charged "property damage fees" because you changed your locked. They will put their own lock on it and tell you you can't access your unit until you pay them. It's ridiculous. Also make sure you rent a storage unit from a company who uses LEGIT invoices and contracts. All of this places invoices/contracts are a microsoft word document. The older lady is EXTREMELY disrespectful, a liar and belittles you. The heavy set guy who sits in the office with her is the same exact way but will make stories up and when you're in a conversation with someone else and NOT speaking to him he gets himself involved in your conversation with whoever and keeps instigating. Also the "son" and his mom will corner you in their small office so you can't leave while she has her son get in your face and threaten you with "I will handle you outside" and then the lady stands behind you where you have no room to move or go anywhere. Just stay away from this place that is all I can say. You don't want to rent a place or have your property in the hands of people like this. You can only imagine what happens after hours. read more

Don't store your stuff here first and foremost None of the staff I've ever spoke with has any type of customer service skills what so ever. Also the hours of operation suck. Forget trying to pay over the phone with a debit card "unless it's on file" prepare to make it down in person. oh and if the office door is unlocked and staff is still in the office they will turn you away even if you made it with in a minute of them closing. outrageously over priced and not worth the BS. read more

TWEEKERVILLE!!! The Heavy set kid working over the counter has absolutely no customer service or people skills. He seems to be on a constant jitter almost skytzo. I had to ask him like 3 times to explain to me there AAA offers and rates on a particular unit since he spoke soo fast almost as if he was too busy for me. How busy can you be at a storage place?? He must of been hungry or something. Asking him to explain it more thoroughly seemed to aggravate him and I finally threw my hands up and said I trust you,Ill pay for the better deal. They also did the old bait and switch on me. First the display the units up front near the office which I had asked for and was the one we agreed on. Then all of a sudden there no longer available and want to stick you all the way back. Sounds to me like an inside job with all the theft reviews I read here. I refused to sent to the back and proceeded to terminate the deal. Big Boy got all angry and began to tell me to be more courteous next time with others. BAAAHHHAAAHHAA!! You got some nerve kid!! The service is big terrible!!! It id a very unfriendly and jitter in a daily. The service us the worst. Prices are not cheap if you go down the riad. The only thing left is the stupid stuff in here. Premises is dirty and dingy. Seems like too many homeless and displaced individual using it as a temporary shelter. Driving to your unit can be an awkward experience as meth head and druggies keep an eye out for law enforcement. Customer service from office staff nonexistent. They'll JACK up your rental fee every 6 months and try to find ways to milk you for more unnecessary fees and insurance. If you're ever late on payment be prepare to pay additional $10. At a time of worldwide crisis in this COVID-19 Coronavirus Pandemic when there are already unprecedented restrictions being placed on every facet of society, I'm arbitrarily being denied my rightful access to my and my father's storage unit at the Westminster Mini U Storage self-storage facility. My father, a Vietnam War Veteran that was drafted and served in the war overseas for 2 years, who recently had a stroke, is incapacitated from being paralyzed in the left half of his body as a result and is on lockdown at the VA Medical Center of Long Beach undergoing physical therapy. The management at Mini U Storage has placed one of their own locks on our unit and will only permit my aunt access to the unit during office hours. My aunt works full time at a doctor's office, survived and recovered from breast cancer has already been burdened enough by my situation and has helped me out more than I can ever repay. Kristy and Erik have wrongfully revoked my authorization to access my storage unit and have even put an additional lock on my unit just to ensure I can't gain access to my property even though there is no outstanding balance on my unit. All of this has stemmed from their displeasure with me being there for prolonged periods of time which Kristy would constantly harass and tell me can be "no longer than 30 minutes". My unit is a 9 x 19 with a garage type of door that is filled with all of my as well as my father's belongings and I only have a bicycle so if I needed to find something I would have to do it there by myself. Like last week my father needed me to get him clean clothes and his DD-214 from there because the VA Medical Center in Long Beach needs it. That form is all the way in the back of the unit in a filing cabinet and would take much longer than 30 minute to find. While other people who have cars and people helping them are permitted to be there for as long as 6-12 hours even from opening until closing without being accosted or even told a word. I'm looking into any legal recourse that may be taken and any legal protections that may be afforded to my father (as a disabled Veteran) and I have. Emails to the storage facility and the corporate customer service for comment were not responded to. read more

mini u storage was ,i thought a very nice place until today !! i have been to visit my unit four times in three months !! today my x husband n i,went to get my fall n,winter clothes n boots for rainy wheather, we'll it took us six plus hours to find my clothes! !then my boots, then rain wear. we were there awile, tierd and wanting to go home, a rude asshole drives by and yells, u have been here since noon !!there's no loitering !! i said come n look what we're doing !! and he yelled -and it smells like pee n there u been peeing n there ? oh my god !!!! the dammed asshole is going to get a huge complaint from me to his corp office n the morning !! count on that. i'm a cancer patient and i posted a nice review on them when i moved my things into my unit, three months ago, but after this crap from them !!i'm not putting,a ataboy,anywhere but the dammed garbage !! there was no reason for what he said to us and he was rude as hell. !! i'll see what corp has to say about this. thank you read more

i had the worst experience with the manager today...she has a power trip beyond any ive ever experienced. i rented a truck and sent my friend with my gate code and storage key to go pick up my bed.the manager would not let her on the premisis due to a policy i was never informed of...and ive been there 11years. so i called the office to find out what the problem was and she informed me i had to be present if i wanted my friend to get in. i was upset and called corporate and they agreed that she was not being helpful and offered to call and discuss while i waited on hold...after 10min the gal from corporate explainef she apologizes for the inconvience but due to break ins at this location that was the rule, but if i arrived before 8:45pm i could access my unit.. so i drove an hour out of my way to get in only to be denied...the manager had a power tantrum and denied me access to enter the property...is that even legal? why tell me i could go before closing and then use the power she had to throw an adult tantrum. i will move out asap and they just lost a client of 11years......worst service ever read more
