They were also able to disassemble my wood bedframe and put it back together for me in my new place and also lifted my heavy dresser up the stairs. Third time was NOT a charm. I first used this company January 2020. They were phenomenal back then. Fast forward to March 2026 qand they were still great. Until the 3rd move June 2026. I had to move due to issues with repairs never being done and mold because my landlord is a slumlord. (Do NOT rent from C&S Apartments!) Anyway, the movers the 2nd time around were nice, professional and as quick as could be considering they were helping me pack up to move my belongings into a storage unit. They didn't waste time and were kind. BUT they failed to wrap my solid cherry wood bed set in moving blankets which resulted in all my furniture being scratched up and damaged in the 3rd move, where once again they did NOT wrap my items when moving them out of storage, into the van and then into my new apartment. On the 3rd move the Forman was upset that there were 2 flights of stairs to move the dresser up, despite me saying so in the questionnaire when booking. The Forman said to me that they'd have to charge extra for the stairs. Which I said NO to because that should have been done in the estimate. He kept saying the dresser was heavy... well, your company loved it twice already and no one else whined about it. He then told me, " if you give us a bigger tip, we won't have to charge for it." I let him know that they moved the same dresser up the stairs to the last apartment and didn't charge extra. He also dragged out ending the moving time because he wanted more hours. I literally had to bring boxes in to try to counteract his stalling tactic. Unfortunately, it didnt help because he then hid in the truck while the other 2 guys were putting together my bed. My couch cushion was damaged and they broke a dresser drawer. I was told they'd come and fix it, but 3 months later they never did. I had to go buy the wood glue and do it myself. The company doesn't have full insurance, so don't bother if something major) like my solid wood night stand) gets damaged. You will not be compensated for it. I did get some money for the leather couch cover, but not enough to purchase a new one. Find a company that has full insurance and will own up to their mistakes, if made. There are so many scratches and chips on my bed set. Not to mention missing feet caps that were not missing before the 2nd move. This 3rd move left me with damaged furniture and no accountability for fixing it when they said they would. Instead I was told, "it's the end of the month and we have a lot of moves. Your repair is not a priority." So much for being a loyal customer who had used them 3 times. FIND A BETTER COMPANY! THIS ONE IS NO LONGER GOOD! read more

Did not show up the morning of the move after everything was confirmed and communications leading up to it. It's wild. No calls the morning of and when we called they said the truck had a radiator leak and would be about 2-3 hours late in arriving. The condo we're moving to has a strict 4:30 cut off time. Horrible moving service! Several of my items were damaged, they took apart my desk and lost the screws and grabbed random ones and half put it together. I found my screws in my planters and had to put it back together the right way. They left a dolly of out of my tv stand and it's falling apart. They showed up two hours into the window they gave me and took from 4pm till 11pm to get the job completed - 2 bedroom condo. (Noise ordinance is 10pm) I talked to the GM and he said he'd send someone out to fix the items not put together right but when they are out that way. 4 weeks later and still haven't heard from them to come out it together the right way...In the past I've got a U haul and movers through UHaul website that were way cheaper, more careful with my belongings and were much faster. I am leaving this review to formally document an extremely unprofessional and unacceptable experience with this company. Prior to the move, I discussed pricing and payment terms directly with the owner/manager and confirmed the agreed-upon amount. However, when the movers arrived, they immediately demanded cash up front and refused to provide any services unless payment was made on the spot. This directly contradicted the prior agreement. After loading the couches, they demanded an additional $100 that had never been disclosed or authorized. The situation felt coercive and inappropriate. In addition to the payment dispute, the movers caused multiple damages: * One of the couches was damaged. * The garage door was damaged. * A component of the security system on the back door was broken. Furthermore, one of the workers raised his voice and yelled at my wife and daughter. This behavior is completely unacceptable and unprofessional. When I contacted the company to request information regarding their insurance coverage for the damages, they refused to provide any details. I used Affordable Moving in mid 2022 for a move ~45 minutes away (in Los Angeles). I read a lot of the reviews and they were very positive, so I'm surprised my experience was so negative. The 2 gentleman they sent were nice, but I think 1 was brand new and in training. My friends came to help me move, and to be honest I think the 4 of us total would have been 90% as fast if we didn't have the additional 2 movers. The team that was sent over was very slow - we had moved multiple rounds of boxes & furniture while the trainee was still wrapping the washing machine. My friend got so fed up that he took the roll of saran wrap, and wrapped the dryer in 1/10th of the time himself, only to have the trainee move it outside, un-wrap it, and then re-wrap it (which took ~40 minutes). I'm not sure if this was purposeful, but it's suspicious that they charge per hour. When the truck was finally ready to be moved out, the movers left all of their garbage on the apartment walkways and on the street (tape, used wrap, etc) which I had to clean up. On the unloading side, they did not put down any moving protection and ended up scratching a lot of the floor and walls. I can confirm the scratches are new since we had just deep cleaned the place the day prior (see images). While the two movers were nice, the whole experience felt very amateur and unprofessional - I would say that my inexperienced friends would be faster and more effective if I had just rented a UHaul truck. Overall, very negative experience for me, which seems very different from the other reviews. I would not recommend them, and in the future I would not hire a moving company per-hour. read more

I used affmov for my interstate move from California to Texas. I was fooled by the amount of positive reviews on here/yelp and pricing. These guys are not registered with the BBB (they have a D- rating), and they broke a majority of my stuff during my interstate move. Took me a while to actually get around to writing the review, I had so much stuff to fix. My PC is damaged and not turning on properly, the desk is damaged, coffee table and furniture banged up (I had to pay for junkers), and they lost my tv legs when they packed things up. All my reusable banker boxes were demolished, luckily I packed things myself so some of the stuff inside was fine. The communication lady blocked my number at some point after telling me she was available 24/7. No seriously, texts couldn't go through and calls were instantly declined for two days after. So I had to communicate directly with the owner. Owner was very responsive to my messages, until after I paid and asked about damaged items. They ask for payment up front after you see everything damaged. After the payment they're telling me to my face nothing is broken, despite having photo and video evidence. Then instead of accepting my photos they told me the movers had to take photos themselves, to which they didn't and quickly excused themselves after without even asking for a tip. I learnt an expensive lesson here, but this was my first interstate move and I didn't know to check the BBB. Always check the BBB, as yelp and google for moving companies aren't always reliable. read more
