Hired ASAP Moving for a move into our brand-new home. The crew complained throughout the day about the heat and difficulty of the job, despite us helping load/unload ourselves, keeping them stocked with drinks all day, and tipping $150 cash at the end. Be prepared to watch them like a hawk -- we weren't, and it cost us. We were told on the intake call there would be no additional stair fees after describing the move in full -- charged one anyway. I also personally witnessed an item get dropped during the move; when we raised it, the company said the crew denied it happened. Because this was a new home, the wall and ceiling damage was obvious. Max compensation offered for damages was only $100, which comes nowhere close to covering actual repair costs, and getting even that took multiple rounds of back-and-forth. Can't recommend without real caveats. Get every detail -- stairs, fees -- in writing before booking, watch the crew closely throughout, and don't just go by their current star rating -- read through the individual reviews, they tell a more accurate story. read more

This is one instance where a company's reviews does not reflect the service they will provide. I was moving from a 2 bedroom condo and Abel told me it will require 3 guys or 4 guys if I wanted it done quickly. It ended up taking 4 of their guys 13 hours to move me from dtla to Arcadia. It would have been faster, but one of their guy would only stay on the truck for most of the time. And one other skinny guy was always MIA. Despite this, I probably would've still given these guys a 4 or 5 star review. What is totally unacceptable is the negligent manner is which they handled the furniture. Instead of using blankets or some other protective material, they would use regular clear box tape to wrap smooth surfaces. When I went to remove the tape it would leave sticky residue on all the furniture. I had to use nail polish remover to get the residue off. I've also included images of furniture damaged during the move. They denied damaging the furniture, but my ring cameras have it on video. Good luck if you need to file a claim because the COI they provide is altered with the current date. The insurance carrier told me their policy expired in 2022. Don't trust this company. I'm sure you will be able to find honest movers out there. I would be a lot angrier, but luckily the Yelp Guarantee helped recoup some of the damages. They will lie and say they didn't damage your furniture. You will need video proof if you file a claim. read more

WARNING: DO NOT BOOK ASAP MOVING COMPANY I booked ASAP Moving Company because of their great reviews and promises of "no hidden fees," protection, assembly/disassembly, and professional service. Unfortunately, this was one of the most stressful moving experiences I've had. For context, we were moving from a one-bedroom apartment to a two-bedroom, two-level apartment, and I disclosed the stairs when requesting my estimate. Our arrival window was 1-3 p.m. I only found out they were running an hour late because I called them. They offered to add a third mover at no charge for the inconvenience, but then the movers called saying they would be ANOTHER hour late. Making two hours late!! Once they arrived, they went right to work, but everything felt extremely rushed and careless. Some of my items and property were damaged, furniture was disassembled but never reassembled, and they even placed my uncovered couch cushions on a bush outside. The biggest issue was the unexpected fees. They attempted to charge heavy-item fees for three dressers and a refrigerator, even though several items did not meet the weight they claimed. We did pay the fee for the one dresser that legitimately qualified. They also charged us an additional stair fee even though the stairs were disclosed on my original estimate. At first, they even tried charging the stair fee for THREE movers when I originally hired two and the third was supposedly added for free. The final bill was much higher than expected, and when I questioned it, the mover handling the billing began yelling at me and giving information that did not match my original estimate. My biggest advice: SCREENSHOT YOUR ORIGINAL ESTIMATE AND CONTRACT. I have two different versions of my estimate from within minutes of each other containing my signature, despite changes I did not agree to. I was also charged additional percentage/tax-related fees that were not clear to me from the original estimate. For a company advertising "no hidden fees," my experience felt completely different. Between the delays, unexpected charges, careless handling of our belongings, incomplete reassembly, property damage, and poor communication, I would NOT recommend ASAP Moving Company. To load the truck at a storage facility with carts and a utility elevator and convenient parking should have taken 1-1.5 hours. 90% of the stuff was packed already. The movers I last used put it in the storage from their truck in less than an hour. The travel time is, by law, double time for over 10 miles. A 50 minute drive is therefore 100 minutes. They charged for two hours (120 minutes). The unload time and move into my new house was not as convenient as the storage unit but still fairly simple being street level. No unpacking was asked for. 1.5 hours to unload should have been enough. We even helped move stuff to try to speed it up. But they insisted on moving slowly, inefficiently, and taking lots of breaks. At 55 I am faster and stronger at moving boxes and items than their kids were. They promised two movers but sent 3. However only 2 actually worked so I guess I got two movers after all. But I understand the main guy said he hurt his back the day before and so assume they did a last minute subcontract with someone with no real professional experience. The guy I assume was second in command was attentive but not in control of the situation and not the most effective or efficient mover. The one with the hurt back basically stayed out of it most of the time. So no one was actually coordinating an effective plan. No one took charge. Altogether, the move should not have exceeded 4-5 hours including the double time drive time. They charged 6. The rate promised was not honored either as they claimed at the end it was a cash only rate. The listing here says credit cards are an accepted form of payment but they really wanted me to use Venmo. Since I am not about to drop almost a grand in cash, especially without a contract or other protections and after a bad experience, I had to use credit. Yeah that was the other thing. They showed up without any contact or insurance and at no time was there any kind of checklist or opportunity to assure nothing would be broken and no opportunity to sign off or claim anything at the end. Unprofessional and irregular. The movers I used in February were leagues better and totally pro. I should have used them again but didn't because I was sensitive to where they would have to come from for the job. Finally, I had to leave them alone for 20 minutes and specifically said not to touch some fragile and priceless stuff I was going to move myself. When I got back it was all disturbed and messed up. One of the boxes was even opened. Not cool. Movers should respect privacy and client discretion above all. Would not recommend at all. Edit: I knew it when I saw the boxes labeled FRAGILE propped on their side inside the truck that trouble would await me. Lo and behold, I later found stuff broken. (See photo). It didn't. 2 were working well and they had an older man with them that was in flip flops and he was moving at a snails pace. Why bring an old man to help you move who is taking cigarette breaks? What a fantastic bunch of guys. The team arrived promptly at 8/40 am, and accommodated a monster 4 bedroom 13 hour move from Anaheim Hills to Yorba Linda with patience, caring, and consideration. So many 5 star reviews and I expected an amazing experience. However it was pretty lackluster with the movers caring less and less about preserving the quality of my furniture as the move went on. I have a ton of dings and scratches on my equipment and at times, they were focused on what was fastest vs. what was safety. Wont be getting support from these guys again. Also English was tough for most of the workers. Only one new how to speak english and somewhat understood. Another was glaring at me for most of the move and I didnt appreciate that at all. read more
