Just had an absolutely horrible experience with A1 storage and none of which was the front counter receptionist fault. Her customer service was great, but the company policies are ridiculous. As an active member of the state military we are afforded certain legal protections and they have you check a box stating whether or not your military on the application. When you are they request that you sign a waiver of all state and federal military rights. That pushed me over the edge to cancel a contract I just signed. The first red flag was being told that after 3 months my rate would increase an unknown amount with a minimum of 5% increase. So they get you in for a discounted entry rate and claim the price there after is the standard rate, which I understand, but then they only charge you that standard rate for one month and increase it. This itself seems like false advertising and misleading. I do intend to file a complaint with the Attorney General's office because of the misleading advertising. The second red flag was going to the unit that was reserved and seeing a large air conditioning duct in the unit. This ducting took up an entire corner and I was told if I wanted a unit without a duct it would be $40 more per month. If you are advertising a 10x10 space, I should receive a 10x10 space. Again, another form of false advertising. I already filled up a truck full of items to install into the new storage unit, but now I am back home looking for another spot to rent otherwise I have to go back to my original storage unit and put everything back in there. A-1 Self Storage was great, they helped me out in a pinch. I needed a storage unit and with one days notice I was able to get a unit and move in. The staff was professional on phone and in person. I went to the location with the moving truck behind me, was able to get my unit, lock and passcode in about 15 minutes. Then moved right in. I only need the unit for a month and a week before my month was up I moved out and canceled my unit with no problem. THANK YOU A-1, I will recommend and come back if needed. read more

I wish I could have given a better rating because Arlene is great but the common sense is just not there. I had a big work shipment coming in to them where they usually just put inside my unit. There was no unit # on this shipment but they could have looked it up by my name (as a 1 time courtesy - and simply let me know for the future). I had no idea! Instead, it costed my company a lot of money when they denied the large delivery and re-send not to mention worse, I didn't have what I needed until a week later! I was so upset that they couldn't even call me or look up the unit number - I think it's bogus and taking my business elsewhere as it directly affected my income. read more

This is my first storage I've ever had. I did not lock my storage properly. That's on me. Just want to let you know that there's someone going around and looking for open storages. My mom and I have split a unit here for 21 years . The facility is great . Almost always spotless , except sometimes when the office is closed . Dean treats everybody very well, except for me . This has started since his first day working there . It climaxed yesterday where he was acting much worse than a spoiled child twords me . This is NOT because of the way that I sometimes look . My mom and I each have a lot of valuable items in the unit . Although far from broke , we do not have a lot of spendable money . Remember Dean , when you treat me badly , you are also treating her badly . I'm sure that if you decide to get a unit there , he will treat you very well . read more
