The man working on 9/29/23 around 10 AM was a complete jerk. He had the nerve to tell me that he canceled my reservation and did not let me know. And then proceeded to lecture me about how this place is "a strict place with strict policies" and as he's saying this I am utterly confused and cannot believe what I'm hearing. I'm not in sales, but I think if you're trying to sell me on something, the least you can do is try to be helpful. As he was telling me, he canceled my reservation and lied about calling three times yesterday, but did not leave any voicemail letting me know that my reservation was canceled, he proceeds to tell me that I look a little bit confused, as he's telling me this is a strict place that cancelled the web reservation I held. This is not the right address! The right address is 8041 Edinger Westminster, CA, 92648 This his storage place used to be another storage place ane Life Storage and they changed to Extra Space storage. I got a deal (Black Friday deal online) I called the 800 number and made a reservation and I got the deal, got my email and all Information regarding the unit. I came here and the lady X (don't know her bane but as soon as i find out I will put it here!) who was here in charged, looked up my number and said that because I used to have a storage unit in my name with Life Storage I couldn't get the deal, she won't honored me the deal I've gotten online, even if I had the email confirmation number !!! She was super rude, would not work with me, would not listen, absolutely rude, poor customer service skills, incredibly rude! I've asked if my daughter will get it, could I get the deal, she said no! Basically no way around it! No way she would work with me. Meanwhile I had 3 cars outside full of stuff I had packed on it! And my girls and my neighbor waiting to see what was going to happen. I had to call the 800 number again, told the story to the lady on the phone, she verified and said, I don't know why wouldn't they honored! I said that the lady X had told me it was because I had a storage unit there last year. I didn't understand because that was when it was with life storage not with extra space storage.. and that was last year!! Anyways!!! , I've also explained the lady from the 800 number that the lady X had said my daughter couldn't get it, she won't give it us the deal!!! The lady from the 800 number, was super kind and said she will override it, and she will do the paperwork under my daughters name, she also said: "I don't understand why wouldn't they give it to you, honored it if you have the paper work! " The lady X wanted to charge me way more than the offer I had gotten online, she had also said that the deal was over !!! Funny thing is, I immediately went online and the deal was still there! So the nice lady from the 800 number took all my daughter's information and honored me the deal! I stayed here just because of that! But the white, dark hair mean lady X was so mean spirit that I have to tell my story in case someone comes across her and have the same experience! Or her manager or the management can put her in some customer service classes or something! I won't recommend this place at all!!! read more

As someone who lives on a budget, this place was just what I needed. The staff here is really nice and helpful. I wasn't looking for anything too big nor too small; and found the perfect size here. They walked my boyfriend and I up to show what options were available. The prices here are very reasonable and I like that you can only access the floor your storage space is on. Just committed to a year rental (paid in advance to lock in the price) on a sweet little drive up storage unit for my business. Keith was amazing. Patiently showed me a couple different units and helped us complete the rental agreement. Even suggested a really cool safe lock. I see other reviews saying people live here. This place is great . They have clean facilities and the storage is secure. The managers keep the place clean and patrol the grounds often to keep it secure . I have been renting here for a couple of years now and I can say that I'm satisfied with my overall experience. I hope they can extend the hours beyond 530 - 6 because sometimes there are things I need to take care of at the office like pay bill or get access to account and change pin. If I could I would give this facility a 0. Extremely disappointed in this location and the managers that run this location. Extra Space corporate should look to not have them (Tom and Sham) associated with their organization. I have used extra space for over 10 years, and never once ran into this issue. If your looking for a space to house of store items for your business. This is absolutely not the place for you. This facility misleads customers by encouraging businesses to rent with them. Once you sign the rental agreement and begin accessing your unit be sure to expect their staff to begin harassing and bombarding you. These extra space staff go as far as coming into your rented unit to tell whoever is accessing it that there is a time limit for how long they can be in their storage unit for and if your not on their list your not allowed to be there. It's Hilarious because their gate access hours are open from 6am until 10pm, and the rental policy only states you need abide by the access hours. If you plan to stay longer than 20minutes expect someone to come by your unit to tell you that you can't be here or if you're sitting in your car too long expect someone to be knocking on your window to say that you can't be here. This unfortunately happened to me and my staff. I secured a unit here to store event equipment and I have multiple staff members that access our unit to grab specific assets related to their shifts. I explained this to the extra space staff prior to me signing the lease, and even gave them a list of names to add to my unit and they gave me approval and said no problem. After 1 month of securing the unit, and my staff begin accessing our unit the extra space staff begin complaining and yelling at my staff for being at the facility to long. In our business it typically takes an hour or two to load up assets depending on how many trips they need to take to their vehicle or double checking emails to ensure their pulling the right items. After 3 months of constant harassment from their team the facility manager called and said they are terminating my lease because there are too many people accessing my unit, and that they want their storage facility to not have businesses in them. They only want people to just store stuff who don't access it regularly. Its a little concerning as I feel the staff here might have something to hide or be doing something illegal because they don't like all the traffic coming in an out or they just have major power trips with the small authority they do have. That's probably why they have a job at a storage facility. Extra Space Storage Do Better! read more

Came over to grab something and thought I'd drop in to see why my rates were jacking up so much. To my surprise I met Isaac who I have never met before. He was very professional, and genuinely kind. I hadn't seen anyone here in a while who just really wanted to help out. The computer wasn't working properly due to the internet so he told me he will call me and see if there is a way to help and that he did! He called me and helped figure out a rate that would be more to my liking during this very difficult market considering I'm a loan officer and struggling financially. His demeanor is just so sweet. I really really hope he never leaves this location. It's rare that anyone has been here that can empathize the way he did and went above and beyond to take the extra effort to help when he didn't have to. Here is a very honest review of a very bad business - in my opinion, and will be complete with photos. Yesterday, I spent my entire day moving out of this storage facility to another one in Huntington Beach after SEVEN years as a customer. Customer loyalty does not come in to play here, because poor customer service, and extreme rudeness reign supreme. I finally got fed up enough to waste an entire day relcoating my stuff. WHO does that??? Me, if I absolutely can no longer support a business. Fortunately, Seacliff Storage, where I moved offers a free moving van. Please be sure to read my review on that facility for a comparison. The positive first - The place looks nice from the curb. And the manager is decent, and not rude. Unfortunately, he is not around much, and the assistant manager - who tells you he is the manager, but is not - is extremely rude, and has zero customer service skills. Again, I was a customer for 7 years, so I know what I am talking about. It is important enough for me to share and save others a nightmare experience. The facility itself is shoddy. With plywood floors, extremely dark units ( you have to bring a battery light to even see inside your space) cheap - flimsy wooden doors & locks, and get this: sheet rock walls between the units. It is also very dirty. If you want to use a cart - get in line - there are 3 - YES THREE for the entire facility. Yesterday, when moving out, after waiting for an hour, and asking the assistant manager where a cart might be - only to be told "I should have locked the door - I am closed for lunch". We ended up getting one of 2 that a couple were using, and got on with getting out of there. A man is living in the B-4 area - I am not kidding. I was in the B-3 section. He uses the outlet that the coke machine is plugged into on the first floor to charge his cell phone. He has quite a little set up there, but that should tell you how good security is at Extra Space Storage. The front door is ALWAYS propped open with a garbage can. (and was every time I was here for 7 years) Although one must enter a code to get the elevator to work, one is free to roam right in to the building, as long as one only wants to steal things from the 1st floor. (see my photos) You may wonder if management knows this. Well, the assistant manager was outside this propped open door yesterday speaking to some people, so - wonder no more. By the way - once I got the elevator to work - I read the inspection permit - that expired several weeks ago. My personal unit that I vacated yesterday had a broken door frame near the floor. So - again - cheap wooden door, hanging loosely on a door frame (see photo) with cheap lock system, and plywood walls. It is no wonder I just spent an entire day moving down the street, where the building is air conditioned, each unit has it's own secure locking system with individual alarm, the doors and walls are metal, the floors are concrete, the outside doors are secure, and the elevators require no code, because you already entered a secure building, and were just provided a free moving truck with dolly and refrigerator dolly....and move in cost was 18 bucks total, and you have 2000.00 insurance for free. There were plenty of carts for use, AND you got friendly customer service. THAT is what you should look for in a storage facility - fellow Yelpers. Closed out my unit after 2 years, this location was a real pain in the rear! Everytime I needed dolly it was always locked up, the numerous times I need to enter the security code to go up the elevator was so annoying! After a year and a half suddenly my monthly rate went from $54 which was supposed to be the $49 special, it went up to $88 a month! After I emptied my storage and canceled over the phone with Izak(I thought that would be the end of this experience) then get multiple phone calls from Thomas who was extremely rude telling me I needed a new lease agreement even though I closed my unit 2 weeks prior,And then told me I am late and my due date was on the 20th, today being the 24th and I explained I closed the unit 2 weeks prior Thomas continued to explain himself as if he was correct and hung up the phone. I called back and Thomas answered the phone and I asked who his manager was and he refused to tell me. This is very poor service read more

Two days in a row (during business hours) nobody in the front office. Front door locked and customers waiting outside. Once you get to talk to someone, it may be Tom. A little snowflake that melts down when someone hangs up on him for not being able to answer questions on the phone. His manager isn't much better. Their customer service is nonexistent. I've rented with these people for years and they literally are getting worse by the day. Their customer service sux. They are judgemental. I can't get a hold of any corporate lever adviser to hear me as I'm being discriminated against by their employees. I currently have 2 units at 2 different locations and both of them are getting moved ASAP. They treat their new customer far better than their long time customers. They want to charge me a higher rate than what's available online when all I'm doing is moving to a different facility because I moved. What a joke. Garden Grove and McFadden facilities are so unprofessional and I'd stay away if I were you. Not to mention they pay people to leave a good review. Shady as hell. read more

After looking and calling a bunch of local storage places to park our RV in Huntington Beach, we finally came across Extra Space Storage - right next to the 405 freeway. We had called Extra Space Storage for a price quote and was provided the best quote with great security, which also emailed us the quote to confirm price. We had requested for them to reserve our spot due to waiting on DMV title. They were able to hold for 2 weeks, which was perfect. When we arrived Sean (beyond AWESOME) immediately assisted us, we had a small miscommunication regarding the quote in the system vs. what was provided to us, where Felix (manager) came and was able to clear our situation in no time. Customer service is HUGE for me, and the team totally took care of us. Overall, I highly recommend this storage facility; it is very professional, safe, and location is convenient. read more
