I'd like to provide a detailed and honest review, as there are several operational and transparency concerns that should be addressed if this business intends to succeed long term.
I initially visited after seeing a $1 promotion on Instagram for the first 100 customers (3/22-3/26). My first visit on 3/23 around 1 PM was relatively smooth, with minimal wait time and adequate staffing. The drink I ordered (Chi-Chi Strawberry Smoothie) was acceptable, though not particularly memorable.
However, my second visit on 3/24 highlighted significant inconsistencies. Despite increased customer traffic, there were only two staff members present and no visible management. Upon entering, there was no acknowledgment, and I waited approximately 10-15 minutes before being assisted. After placing my order at around 3:15 PM (ticket #96), the wait time was close to an hour, which is excessive given the circumstances.
More concerning than the wait time is how the promotion is being executed. Customers who are not ordering promotional items appear to still be counted toward the "first 100 customers," which is misleading. Additionally, orders placed through the kiosk are charged at full price, with no clear indication that they do not qualify for the promotion. This creates a situation where customers may unknowingly pay full price for items included in the promotion, while still contributing to the promotional limit.
It also appeared that kiosk orders were prioritized over promotional orders, which raises concerns about fairness and consistency in service. The structure of the promotion itself cash-only, no tax, and limited to one item per group further adds to the lack of clarity and overall customer confusion.
While promotions are meant to attract customers, they should be implemented transparently and consistently. In this case, the execution comes across as disorganized at best, and potentially misleading at worst.
Additionally, offering discounts in exchange for social media posts may give the impression of incentivizing positive exposure rather than earning genuine customer feedback.
I understand that opening a new business comes with challenges, and I typically give new establishments some grace. However, the issues here are not minor when they reflect a lack of preparation, communication, and operational consistency.
With the level of competition in the SGV area, customers have many alternatives. Clear policies, adequate staffing, and transparent practices are essential, not optional.
There also appears to be a sudden increase in 5 star reviews. Given that the business is offering discounts in exchange for social media posts, it raises some concern that positive reviews may be incentivized, which can make it more difficult for customers to gauge genuine feedback.
If Yelp is truly a platform that consumers rely on to guide their decisions, there should be clearer ways to distinguish which reviews reflect authentic experiences versus those influenced by promotions or incentives. Transparency in this area is important to maintain trust and ensure reviews remain meaningful and reliable.
I do not wish for this business to fail, but I strongly encourage the owners to reevaluate how promotions are structured and communicated, as well as how day to day operations are managed. A more organized and transparent approach would significantly improve the customer experience and overall credibility. read more
