This is one of the new boba shop located in San Gabriel on Valley Blvd. They're in the same plaza as Chicha, Auntea Jenny, & Ici. It was empty when we got there which is surprising cuz there's a long line outside of Auntea Jenny. We ordered the King of Mango Smoothie and Crack Top Brûlée TGY Oolong Milk Tea with 3Q (boba, coconut jelly, & Bo-bo). It took a while for them to prepare our drinks, but it tasted really good cuz it was freshly made. Kinda wish they have a different lid for the crack top brûlée drink tho cuz it's hard to taste the brûlée cream. They have happy hour Monday-Friday from 2-5 pm. Not sure what's the promo for it tho. Staff were nice and friendly, but they don't have free tote bags here. We didn't get any slings for our drinks either.

I am glad to see that Macu Tea has moved its storefront from Pasadena to San Gabriel. It is now more convenient for me to visit! I really like their drinks, especially from the Li-Li series and Milk Tea series. They specialize in premium real fruit tea, so I would definitely recommend trying a fruity drink for first timers. Tea quality is pretty good and the drink flavors taste fresh and natural. The sugar level and ice level can be completely adjustable. For toppings, there is a decent selection. My favorite topping is their green tea jelly, while my husband really likes their bo-bo agar boba. These toppings pretty much work well with any drink. One small con is that they do charge for bags. Even if you order many drinks, you'll have to pay if you want a bag to hold them. From my experience, all other bubble tea shops give free bags.

My sisters and I decided to go grab Macu Tea in San Gabriel. This plaza contains four separate boba stores, which is insane, and I wonder how each boba store manages to thrive in this plaza. We got the King of Mango Smoothie, QQ Passion Fruit Drink, and Orange & Mango Li-Li Tea. The drinks are pretty costly. However, the mangoes have a robust and pleasant flavor. When we visited to the Pasadena store, we asked the manager if Macu Tea would ever open a location in the Alhambra or San Gabriel area. I'm delighted it opened in San Gabriel and is close by. The employees are really friendly and willing to provide us with reusable fabric slings and carrying bags for our drinks. Thank you again.

I had a good experience at Macu Tea (San Gabriel). I ordered the King of Mango Smoothie ($8.75 - Light Sweetness). It's Mango, Grapefruit, Coconut Milk, & Tea Jelly. It tastes clean, fresh, and light. I enjoyed the soft "pop" of its tea jelly and the fresh fruit. I arrived at Macu Tea (San Gabriel) on Thursday (around 6:50PM). Parking is easy. There's underground parking structure with many spots. Customers primarily order at the self-service kiosk. Staff works hard in the background. My drink took about five minutes. As mentioned, I ordered the King of Mango Smoothie ($8.75 - Light Sweetness). At its core, the quality is wonderful. The ingredients taste very fresh and this chill drink is reinvigorating as it slips through parched lips. However, it's not a bold drink. It's mild and lightly sweetened. It politely lets you savor each ingredient. With each continued sip, the drink develops and at journey's end, you find a faint smile adorning your lips. On ambiance, Macu Tea (San Gabriel) is small and cramped. There's one tiny stool table, four chairs, and one bench. I enjoyed the upbeat music. And the location is clean and well-ventilated. Overall, Macu Tea (San Gabriel) is a good addition to the SGV scene. The ingredients are fresh and clean. And it's REFRESHING. If curious and nearby, I happily recommend. 4.7 out of 5

Having tried their spot in Pasadena, my wife and I visited their new spot here in SGV during their grand opening weekend. Their promo for the grand opening was BOGO with free toppings which we had to get a hold of. Located in the a very VERY busy plaza, you'll find yourself staring at each corner of the plaza as there's just SO MANY tea spots to choose from. Inside is basically just a small shop, not much space, no tables and just bench seating by the wall and two small chairs. Ideal to wait outside as it can get quite congested fast. My wife and I ordered two drinks, Golden Leaf Milk Tea and the Peach Black Milk Tea. Both with toppings - Green Tea Jelly and Boba respectively. Since it was grand opening, wait times were a bit long but not too long. Our drinks came out within 15 minutes or so and staff was pretty friendly throughout the whole time we were there. Plus points for being quick as well. Drinks were just like the ones in Pasadena. Tea flavor is not too overwhelming and very smooth overall. Boba weren't super hard and was easy to chew. Overall, two very refreshing drinks especially on a warmer day. Excited to visit again to try other drinks, happy to have another boba spot within SGV.

I took the opportunity to take whole family to try smoothies at Macu Tea San Gabriel when they offer a rare BOGO offer. Service is friendly. They are busy making tea and smoothies. The store is small, so it offers a few benches. The plaza has underground parking. We have both avocado strawberry smoothies and mango avocado smoothies. They both tastes great. Recommend this place if you like something fresh with real fruity tea or smoothies that doesn't taste like icee with juice!

Macu Tea is such a solid spot if you're craving boba with variety. We got a mix of smoothies, fruity drinks, and milk tea, and everything was so refreshing, flavorful, and well-balanced. Nothing felt too heavy or too sweet, and it's the kind of place where you can easily find something depending on your mood of the day. There are limited seatings inside so this would be more on a grab and go spot. Staffs were so friendly and fast with services. Overall, definitely a reliable go-to spot for both fruity and tea-based drinks. we ordered: - King of Mango Smoothie 2.0 - Chi-Chi Strawberry Smoothie - Sunshine Li-Li Tea - Tieguanyin Oolong Milk Tea

    Michelle T.

We ordered: - Brown Sugar Boba Latte - Tieguanyin Oolong Milk Tea w/ Boba - Grapefruit Li-Li w/ honey drink - King of Mango Smoothie 2.0 - ACE Avocado Golden Smoothie Macu Tea has something for every mood! We went all in on the drinks and honestly, no regrets. The brown sugar boba latte was rich, creamy, and perfectly sweet, with an amazing caramelized brown sugar coating on the boba that gave every sip that indulgent kick. The Tieguanyin Oolong Milk Tea had a deep, roasted tea flavor with a really nice balance of sweetness! Definitely the one to get if you prefer a stronger, more fragrant tea profile. The King of Mango Smoothie 2.0 was thick, fruity, and sooo fresh! And the ACE Avocado Golden Smoothie was also really good! Ultra creamy with a subtle sweetness that made it feel almost like a healthy dessert. The Grapefruit Li-Li w/ honey was super refreshing and a nice change-up between the creamier drinks. It had that citrusy tang with just enough honey to smooth it out, making it feel light but still flavorful. Service was quick, and there are so many options on the menu that it's easy to find something whether you're in the mood for classic milk tea or fruity blends!

With all these boba/tea spots that opened up in the same plaza, I was hesitant to try this one. I had to order their #1 even though I don't love mangoes. I saw all those fresh mangos laid out on the side so I just had to. Even though this was a mango king smoothie, they added grapefruit, coconut and jelly inside which was surprisingly pretty well-balanced. If you like mangos, you'll love this drink! I also tried a sample of the sunshine li-li tea and that was pretty refreshing as well. Will order that next time!

    Selene S.

They're in their soft opening phase. Plenty of parking in this plaza. They had $1 off for the first 100 customers which we missed sadly. There is limited seating inside with a kiosk to order from. I got their Chi-chi strawberry smoothie ($8.75). It was very fresh!

Heard about the promotion on Instagram. We came by to take advantage of their Buy One Get One (BOGO) promotion, and it seems everyone else had the same idea! We ordered the King of Mango Smoothie, and it definitely lived up to the name. They are very generous with the fresh fruit--you can tell they aren't skimping on the ingredients. It was incredibly refreshing and easily some of the "good stuff" in terms of quality. Be prepared for a bit of a wait. The shop was very busy, and the service felt a bit slow, likely due to the high volume of orders from the promotion. If you're in a rush, this might not be the best time to visit, but the quality of the drink makes it worth the patience. Parking & Accessibility This is the main drawback: parking is not good. There are very limited spaces in the immediate area, so you might have to circle the block or walk a bit to get to the counter. Despite the slow pace and the parking headache, the drinks are top-tier. I'll definitely be back for that Mango smoothie!

Golden Leaf Milk Tea - 5/5. Floral and slightly nutty tea base. I'd recommend getting the fresh milk version over the regular milk tea b/c their creamer powder can be pretty strong. They're known for their fruity drinks, but honestly I just come here for this particular milk tea with jasmine tea jelly.

Came for the soft opening deals and bc it's one of my fav boba shop! So happy i dont have to drive and pay parking for the pasadena location. Their drinks are always so delicious and refreshing. And this is the only place I've had tea jelly where it actually tastes like tea. I hope macu stays open here bc it seems a bit rough with like 5 other boba stores in the plaza.

My bestie introduced me to ChaTraMue and I was so excited for their Thai Green Tea. Right by restaurants and such so it's a convenient spot to get something here after lunch or another meal, etc. Ordering was through a kiosk and the 4 of us all got Thai green teas. They have a regular option and a vegan option where they use oat milk. The default topping was the agar boba which I kept on my drink and enjoyed it. Flavor was really good, and though I got one of the lower sweetness percentages, it was still pretty sweet to me. The others didn't mind too much as they didn't find theirs overly sweet. Unsure if they made a batch of the same sweetness cause most of us did get half sweet, but the flavor was still really good. They have other drinks as well, which I'd love to try if I return here. I'd also love to try their signature Thai tea as well. There's seating here and the people that work here are nice as well. Our drinks came out quickly too. We chilled here for a bit to enjoy our drinks and to avoid the heat a lil, and had a blast.

Unfortunately, the Brown Sugar Boba tasted funky. Some pearls had the flavor of soap. "Gross!!" I arrived at YOTEA (Rosemead) on Monday (around 12:16PM). Parking is simple if familiar with the area. There's a rear parking garage for customers. Staff is unmemorable and awkward. When I mentioned they mixed old and new menus together which displayed incorrect prices, Staff seemed amused and let them stay mixed. Staff avoided customer interaction whenever possible. The drink took two minutes and 10 seconds. Quick time. The Pandan Milk Drink ($5.99 - 50% Sweetness - Regular Ice) with Brown Sugar Boba (additional 80 cents) tasted artificial. It had a strong "candy milk taste," and it glowed a neon green when stirred. The first sip was pleasant, but as I continued to drink, the taste became more off-putting. Next, the Brown Sugar Boba tasted inconsistent. Some tasted perfectly fine, but others had the flavor of dishwater and gloop. I was tempted to throw it into the garbage can. Concerning ambiance, YOTEA (Rosemead) has potential. Ignoring the cobweb underneath one table & the somewhat old furniture, there's utility. This location has about 10 electrical outlets. Wow! There's also customer internet with password; the internet information is taped onto the black register. There's also a customer gender neutral restroom. YOTEA (Rosemead) is also very spacious. The ceiling is very tall, and there's many spots to sit. There's about 16 tables!! If desperate for a study/work spot, this is a decent choice. There's also upbeat, smooth music. Overall, I had a disappointing experience at YOTEA (Rosemead). There's utility and potential, but this business feels old and unmaintained. Rather than clean, Staff just chattered amongst themselves. Any passion that rang within these walls dissipated a long time ago. Currently, YOTEA (Rosemead) is simply mediocre. 2.9 out of 5
