It didn't matter as we were trying to look for somewhere to go which was traffic friendly as well as accessible. Once you arrive, you are in a parking lot with many shared businesses in the location. Basically, parking can be a hit or miss depending on how close you like to park to the business. We found parking easily. At first it seemed as if we weren't going to be seated right away, however, a party of 3 had just left so we waited less than 5 minutes to be seated. In the meanwhile, I got to see the dough turn into the noodles that are used in their dishes. We then proceeded to order their mixed goji berry / rice drink, which was amazing! This place is known for its hand pulled noodles which are made to order, and come in eight different shapes and thickness, ranging from angel hair to flat wide noodles. It has two other locations in West Covina and LA, but this is the original location. It is in a very busy plaza packed with numerous other eateries so parking is a nightmare. This may also be the busiest location. My family and I waited for about 15 minutes to get a table, which wasn't too bad, but I still hate having to wait for food. Food was excellent, and I probably would've given this place five stars if I didn't make the mistake of using its restroom, which was disgusting. it kind of ruined my appetite because I used it before I got my food. In terms of dishes, I think Signature Lan Noodle is the way to go for first timers. I got mine medium spicy with wide flat noodle and added bok choy (additional $1.99). Broth was really flavorful without giving me any MSG attack. Texture of noodle was excellent - nice and chewy. My wife prefers thin round noodle because it absorbs more flavor due to larger surface area, but for me, it's all about the texture of the noodle. My date gave me a few suggestions for lunch and I picked LAN Noodles. I was especially intrigued by their hand made noodles and the various sizes you can pick from. They also pride themselves in using fresh meat, fresh bone broth and fresh chili oil. Sounds like authentic food made with love and quality. When we arrived the staff was in the middle of clearing some tables and there were a few parties in front of us. They consistently have everyone signing in upon arrival and their team was great at seating and serving everyone in the order in which they arrived, which I really respect. The food also came in that correlating order. I respect a restaurant with a logical fair process and consistency. Since LAN is known for noodles. We both looked into the noodle section of their menu. Their hand made noodles have so many shapes. You can get thick round noodles, thin round noodles, thinnest round noodles, angel hair round noodles, wide flat noodle, thin wide noodle, chives leaves flat noodle or triangle noodle. So many options! Also it was great to see their noodle chef facing into the restaurant so you can see him hand pulling and making the noodles fresh to order. We both went with the Signature LAN Noodle ($14.99/each). My date had his with the thinnest round noodles, mild, with no green onions and no cilantro. I had mines with the wide flat noodles, mild, with the green onions and cilantro. You can easily tell our orders apart between the noodles and the topping. Yummmmm! Such a tasty bowl of noodle. I loved the chew on the fresh wide flat noodles. The portion was really huge. The beef was fresh as they promise. The broth was good too but it was a tad spicy for me at mild. I really like the vibes of this place. There's a window that you can look through to see how they pull the noodles and cook them. They make them fresh per order because for two dishes, we got the wide noodles with it and we saw their pulling process for each one. For the noodles, we got the braised beef noodle soup and stir fried noodles with chicken. The beef noodle soup was definitely the star of the show. The depth of flavor the soup has and the chewiness of the noodles makes this dish stand out. The only problem was that the soup wasn't hot :( it just felt warm to me. The stir fried noodles were nothing special in regards to flavor but the hand pulled noodles made up for it. Side note: the noodles are great and all but it's probably not the best thing to share just cause they pull the noodles reeeaaallly long so we had to took some time cutting it with a spoon. Our table also got golden shrimp fried rice. They told us that it was going to take 20 min for it to come out and so we waited on it. There's plenty of parking in the parking lot, but usually the spots right in front of the restaurant are taken, in which case you will have to park a little further and walk there. It's not as bad as it sounds though, and it's Arcadia so it feels safe. The restaurant itself is small with only maybe 10 tables, but the wait time is minimal because this place is not THAT popular. They have high chairs for the kids, but unfortunately only 1 restroom :( Another fun part is that the kitchen is semi-open so you can see the noodle chef knead the noodle flour, cut it into the shape of the order, and then cook it. Seeing it made from scratch makes the food feel very fresh. I usually get the signature LAN NOODLE, mild spicy, with everything (cilantro, green onion, etc.) and thin round. I believe this is what the restaurant recommends and I like it because it's chewy and easy to eat. My wife gets the wide flat noodle, it's chewier but harder to eat because it's so thick. I would recommend mild if you haven't been here just in case it's too spicy for you - you can always ask for more chili oil if mild is too, well, mild, for you. Other than the noodles, we also like to get the pig ear in chili oil - spicy, and fun to eat! We have tried other dishes as well like chow mein - everything is flavorful and delicious, but in my opinion, the signature noodle is best.
