Stopped by on a weekend morning and was seated right away. The restaurant has a cozy, homey feel- perfect for a relaxed, casual hangout. Service was warm and attentive. Street parking is available right out front. Beef Stewed Steamed Rice Noodle- a unique Cantonese-style dish with soft, silky rice noodles topped with richly flavored beef stew. The texture combination was really interesting (in a good way). It does get a bit heavy toward the end, so it's a great option to share. I'd definitely come back for this dish!

The food is so good and simple menu! The service is great and fast. We just found out the parking is in back!

Food - well priced breakfast combos, we got the soy sauce chow mein, congee (the day's was salted fish), youtiao, and lemon iced tea -- all tasted pretty great overall and hit the spot for someone looking for a great breakfast in the 626 :) Service - pretty quick overall, family run Ambiance - kind of easy to miss right next to the Psychic shop next door; nice and clean shop overall the Thai tea bears look cute definitely will consider getting the drink next time!

Cute little mom and pop restaurant It's easy to drive by it, but we happen to find it on yelp. Don't drive too far since you can easily pass it. We did street parking in front of garden cafe It is yummy nice comfort food. Plenty of it when you get a large :) probably great for winter Nice people with only two people on the job It's nice to have when craving some familiar comfort food. I'll be back if I'm in the area

Cute little noodle spot across from KFC on South Baldwin Ave. Only street parking, no parking in the back. The restaurant is clean, gets good lighting, clean, and has 6 tables. They have really cute bear thai ice milk tea with a small frozen bear on top. Our server was really friendly. Please be patient though as she was the only person serving the tables. I really enjoyed my HK beef stew. I would come back to try other items.

A cozy and homey casual noodle restaurant. They serve classic comfort food and have decent portions and good value. Simple menu and delicious food that is satisfying. The noodles came with lots of meat and was well seasoned. The interior is very clean and the staff are friendly. No credit cards under $25, but they take Venmo and Zelle.

Large chicken pho (leftover)

Very hospitable and quick service. The inside is homey but not too cozy. This spot is an introvert's dream. Ordered a large chicken pho via fantuan for takeout. My take- having lived in SGV and tried almost every chicken pho.... this is genuinely the best chicken pho in town. I was entranced by the succulent chicken, delicious broth, and generous portion of noodles. They gave me a packet of hoisin sauce, chili vinegar, and ginger onion sauce. At home I squeezed my own sriracha to triple dip the chicken with the hoisin. It was so good I couldn't take a picture before I dived in. Attached are my leftovers after I got full

Pregnancy craving for that spicy sour Guilin noodles continue! haha! I had this place bookmarked for their hot and sour rice noodle soup. It wasn't exactly the Guilin style but it was good. The flavor I was craving was there and it did not disappoint. The noodles were definitely different from the Guilin style. The Thai tea was good and wasn't super sweet. I actually tasted the tea and that's rare! If you pay cash and your bill reaches a certain amount , you get your drink comped! They also provide 1 free refill on your drink. The chili oil chicken was okay. It tasted like the Taiwanese cold dishes but with chicken. I don't normally see a chicken option in most restaurants but they typically make this with tripe and pork. The restaurant is located on Baldwin. I'm not sure if they had a parking lot in the back but I parked on the street. It's a small restaurant and has about 6-8 tables.

Small restaurant serving a variety of noodles, some rice dishes, appetizers and drinks. Food is solid with a nice homemade, clean taste. You can receive two different drinks free based on your receipt total. Small parking lot in the back with street parking.

Grilled Pork and Rice. (To-go dinner)

We usually dine in but FiveFive is now doing a to-go dinner service(flier says Tuesday-Sunday), which is perfect for a Sunday evening when we want something good but don't want to cook or go out. We ordered the beef stew with rice and grilled pork and rice. Delicious as always. Also Added an ice lemon tea for $1.

This is a small family run restaurant with only half a dozen tables. Young mom waits on the tables while dad does the cooking inside the kitchen. It's a Saturday and an elementary age girl (around 4th grade) helped mom to clear the tables. The restaurant is clean and the food is delicious! They have the cutest ice bear Thai Tea and it comes with a refill (at the restaurant or take it to go)! We will definitely return and support this small business!!!

Hot sour noodle soup

After a leisurely walk at the LA Arboretum, my friend and I were famished and in need of a cold drink and some yummy food. She suggested Fivefive because of the frozen bear drink. Turns out the food is also pretty good. My friend had the crabmeat tomato basil noodle soup and I had the five five hot and sour rice noodle soup. My friend didn't say too much about her soup except that it was pretty good, and she took the leftovers home. I enjoyed the hot and sour rice noodle soup (4/5). It was good and had strong flavors that made this soup so easy to eat. The soup is spicy but not overly so and it was definitely sour and had strong Chinese herbal taste that I loved. My friend was thrilled with her frozen Thai tea bear (4/5) and I ended up getting a Ume soda (4/5) (which was salted plum in soda water). I liked that our server suggested we take a glass of Thai tea to go with the bear. Service was friendly and efficient. The restaurant is all white and very clean. The restaurant had a steady crowd so I think this is a popular little place to grab a bite. Parking is street. Due to construction on the sidewalk, it was a bit confusing where parking was ok and where it wasn't. But that should not deter anyone from checking out this cute little noodle cafe. I'll be back! You walk in thinking, "I'll just grab a quick bowl," and suddenly there's a noodle master stretching dough like he's training for the Olympics. Their Lanzhou-style noodles? Fresh, chewy, and honestly a little too good--they'll ruin instant ramen for you forever. The Lan noodle soup is so rich and savory. The died mixed noodle feels like a warm hug... if hugs came with chili oil and a kick that sneaks up on you. It's a small, busy spot, so yeah, you might wait--but don't worry, the line moves fast. Plus, it gives you time to emotionally prepare for choosing your noodle shape. Thin? Wide? Triangle? This is not a decision to take lightly. One wrong move and you'll be thinking about it halfway through your bowl like, "I should've gone wider."

They have a small and large sweet and sour chicken rice plate. I had gotten the small size just to try it out, but it was surprisingly good (5/5). The pork sandwich bun was decent (4/5) since the beef was tasty but the sandwich bun could be better. We also had the traditional beef noodle soups with either the wide flat and triangle ones. You can't go wrong with these freshly made pulled noodles, and they are very hearty portions. Flavor is good and the beef is very tender. The smashed cucumbers were decent also (4/5), but nothing spectacular about them. Service is very quick, attentive and pleasant. This is a good go to spot for a quick meal. The dining room doesn't seat a lot of people so try not to come during busy dining hours on weekends to avoid a long wait.

Menya Hanabi is a Japanese noodle shop specializing in Nagoya-style mazesoba, a type of soupless…read moreramen that focuses on mixing noodles with flavorful toppings instead of relying on a traditional broth. We walked into a casual ramen shop atmosphere, the kind of place that works well for a quick and satisfying meal rather than a long dining experience. The space is functional and focused, with a menu centered around different variations of mazesoba along with a few sides and drinks. The main reason to visit is the mazesoba, and it delivers a completely different experience from typical ramen. The noodles have a chewy texture and are meant to be mixed thoroughly with the toppings, sauce, and egg yolk to bring everything together. We tried the Nagoya-style combination of spicy minced pork, green onions, seaweed, garlic, and other toppings, and found the bowl rich and layered, with each bite getting better as everything blended together. The deluxe versions add more toppings and make the dish feel more complete, while the spice level can be adjusted depending on how much heat you prefer. The richness of the sauce and toppings is balanced by the brightness of the egg yolk and the crunch of the onions, keeping the dish from feeling one-dimensional. The restaurant also offers options like takoyaki and matcha drinks, which add variety to the meal. The matcha latte is a nice contrast to the heavier noodle dishes, while the sides work well for sharing or adding something extra to the table. Since mazesoba is naturally a heavier dish, the balance of toppings and textures helps keep the meal from feeling too rich, and the sides offer a lighter counterpoint. Service is quick and the experience moves efficiently, which fits the casual style of the restaurant. Menya Hanabi can get crowded during busy hours, and waits are possible, but the focused menu and flavorful bowls make it worth adding to a noodle rotation. It is a great spot if you want to try something different from traditional ramen, delivering a meal that feels both intentional and satisfying, with a concept that is simple but executed in a way that makes the noodles stand out.

Everything was tender, aromatic, and clearly prepared with great care and attention to flavor and ingredients. Spice lovers will definitely be happy here, but even if you normally don't eat spicy food, you'll still find yourself going back for bite after bite. Overall, most of the dishes were solid. The only one I could have skipped was the chicken and potato dish...it just didn't stand out compared to everything else. I think this was the dish that we took leftovers since everyone else also felt a similar way regarding that dish. The skewers were well-cooked, but the cumin flavor was a bit overpowering for my taste, and it lingered longer than I would've liked. With that said, there were definitely some highlights. I really loved the shrimp fried rice and the beef dumplings, but my favorite was the wide noodle dish with mixed meats. It was incredibly flavorful and hit all the right notes. I actually ordered it after noticing another table enjoying the same dish. Honestly, their reactions said everything and it absolutely lived up to the expectation. The owner was warm and welcoming, which added to the overall experience. The restaurant itself is very clean, with bright lighting and a modern aesthetic that makes it feel inviting. Parking is also convenient, with plenty of space available in the back garage. All in all, it's a spot I'd recommend for anyone looking to try authentic flavors from the Xi'an region.

Complimentary hot tea is ALWAYS a plus. They give almost 2 pork kidney slices, 2 shrimps, 2 fishballs, 2 mixed meatballs, a whole lotta chicken, around 3 slices of pork, and a spoonful of ground pork. Their broth is pretty light at this location (really similar to the Kim Kee near Rosemead Blvd and Garvey Ave), but their ground pork (I suspect it's Taiwanese-style because it's a braised flavor) added a good savory flavor to balance the soup.
