The menu has a variety of dishes which usually has a choice of a side of rice or spaghetti. If you call for service, a server usually comes to see what you want. Booth seating for 4 of us was adequate. I ordered the pork chop with lemongrass & onion flavored shrimp. The Pork chop was thin but the large 6 shrimps with skin on were flavorful.
Back for lunch! So their lunch prices are exactly the same as dinner prices. Portions are the same. Good fast service as usual. I got like 4 refills of my Thai ice tea.
Stopped by during the hours of their Afternoon Tea - $15 for a hot drink and a combo or a dish on their special menu (I ordered a combo of porridge and beef chow fun) is a good deal and is plenty of food to get you full. I wasn't a huge fan of the beef chow fun because I found it a little bland for my taste. The service is efficient, and while the interior is a little dated (peep the advertising placemats), it was very clean and comfortable. Plenty of parking available in the lot. I also enjoy their Hainan chicken which was tender enough - which I was delighted to find comes with a salted egg and some lightly pickled vegetables. Their beef cube dish is also good - the beef was tender, and the accompanying mix of onions, mushrooms, basil, and few jalapenos tastes great over rice. Their menu is huge and I definitely want to try more items next time!
Came for dinner here with the family on a regular Tuesday night. There was ample parking and no wait time for a table. Staff was quick in taking our orders. Food came out pretty quick too. Their portions are still very generous at the price point. We ordered 4 dishes and they were all really delicious, especially the baked chicken pasta. The chicken was very tender.
Food is good! My family and I have been coming here for a few years, and we look forward to the prime rib on the weekend. All portions are completely shareable. The portions are generous for the price in this economy. I really liked the Baked Chicken with pasta. The chicken was tender and everything was perfectly baked and topped with cheese. The tomato sauce also tasted different and a bit creamier than regular tomato pasta. It was so good! The tofu was also very good since it is the soft egg tofu. The other two dishes were just okay but the portion was good. Overall I had great meal here! There was leftovers which I could pack to eat the next day. Their quality and prices are just worth! Will definitely come again for the baked pasta.
Classic Hong Kong style cafe, Honestly grew up eating this type of food. Some times in the morning when Mommy and Daddy took us to school or the park, and in the later years coming home from music festival or clubbing. Service is usually good when your closer to the bar, you can usually wave down a food runner or waiter. I got the half coffee half tea for a drink, And the baked pork chop with that bolognese sauce and pasta So good, I usually get lo mein or the half red half white fried rice.
What to eat at 9:00 PM, Garden Cafe it is! Opened late at night, Garden Cafe is an Arcadia local spot that serves westernized Asian cuisine. My go-to dish is the Baked Ham and Cheese Pasta, white sauce. It's not bad and reminds me of my childhood. The other dishes are alright, but I love this Pasta!
We always come here, they never disappoint us. From breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner. My parents and kids love their breakfast tomatoes noodles soups and pork chop bun. Their oatmeal breakfast is always served warm and delicious. Baked pork chop rice and chicken steak are always good. Their staffs are very pet friendly and amazing pet lovers. Our babies are always welcome with lots of love here. All the staffs are very nice. Just special thanks to Jennifer and 小強. You guys are the Best with solid 5stars. Garden cafe just recently remodeled their Patio. Really wish that they can bring back the outdoor booth seating. But it is still nice and roomy at the patio. Very pet friendly.

I tried out these items. Ribeye Steak - Came with two eggs cooked your style, hash brown, and a garlic bread. The steak was actually really good and cooked perfectly medium rare. It's basic in flavoring but for $16 this dish was superb. (4.5/5) Porridge - Its a basic porridge but it has a good chicken/garlic flavor. Its pretty hearty and delicious for what it is. (4.5/5) Thai Style Fried Rice - This was a dish that came with the porridge combo and it was actually very good. Good flavors and pretty big portion. (4.5/5) Vermicelli Noodles - Also came with the porridge combo and was tasty. It's a simple noodle dish that was pretty comforting. (4/5) Overall in terms of value this is the spot to go to. It's comfort food, you'll have a great meal without breaking the bank. Also for breakfast the meals come with a drink (milk tea or coffee) which is a total plus for me. Solid spot for brunch! Parking - They got a pretty reasonable size lot, had no issues.

And you can try to wave someone down but they won't acknowledge you or they do and just never come back. The food was really good and comes out fast after ordering... but having someone take your order takes forever... Small parking lot (we got lucky with a spot) but seems like street parking might be inconvenient in the area

Always glad to be here, came again for Monday dinner and it wasn't crowded but parking seemed to be half full. It was 6 of us and we get seated at the large round table in the middle of the restaurant. The menu is HUGE but me, my sister, and my uncle will usually order the grilled chicken and pork dish. My aunt usually gets a noodle dish such as the beef chow fun this time. My son got a meat sauce pasta with fries. We also got Thai tea which is refillable. My dad unfortunately didn't know what to get but he ultimately decided on the hainan chicken. The waiter confirmed 3 of the same dishes and we confirmed. The food came but mine didn't and it seemed the waiter only put in 2 orders. Therefore, I had to wait but my uncle shared half his pork and chicken with me because it was a lot for him. Good thing they didn't put on my order because i wanted pasta and not rice and my sister and uncle asked for rice, so good thing i got mine after with mushroom sauce (black pepper sauce is surprisingly too spicy for me). I love the mixed vegetables, but sure what makes it good since it's just bland zucchini, peas, green beans, carrots, and corn. But goes so well with the dish. The mash potatoes were also good...I loved everything tbh... My sister and I each got a refill on our drink and I felt a weird aura from the start so u didn't ask for another. We had so much leftover since I ate most of my uncles dish and he barely ate but I'm so happy they still had great portions. read more

A friend told me about their prime rib specials on the weekends for just $30 so we came to try it out! And it didn't disappoint! The prime rib is very delicious! It comes with salad and soup. It's a very good deal with the quality of the prime rib. We also like their basil pork chop and stirred fried Singapore vermicelli. Service is reasonably consistent based on my experience. I haven't had Garden Cafe in a while and the last time I tried to come here, I left the parking lot because I couldn't find parking. Now, here I am back here and found parking. This is your typical HK cafe, where you need to catch the waiter's action to order food because of how busy the restaurant is. I ordered the NY steak and fish filet with spaghetti while my bf ordered NY steak with chicken steak with rice. I ordered the steak medium and it was cooked to perfection where it was not too rare and not too done. Everything tasted pretty solid and I really like their spaghetti because it's sweet. A must order is a lemon ice tea, goes well with any meal and plus free refills. read more

I usually just order togo and it's just super yummy. They are on the pricier side in my opinion compared to many other places here in the 626 area, but worth it depending what you get because they cook the food here really good. it has good WOK HAY. read more

If you want traditional bing sutt you got it here. I got the spaghetti with meat sauce and it was excellent. Compadre got pork knuckle and she said thumbs up. If a place can get the basics down then most of the other items on the menu is passable. Parking can be a challenge, staff friendly but a concern for me and thus for my rating was their were flies buzzing around and the upkeep is not there. Windows dirty. Still food flavor was excellent. Recommend if in the area. Great location near LA Arboretum and Santa Anita mall. Food 5 stars, environment 3 stars. read more

OG cafe serving Hong Kong style flair, with all the classics, hot milk tea, ice lemon tea is really good, their blend is unique and so refreshing. My kiddo likes their combo chicken steak plate, I am a fan of their hainan chicken noodle, their stir fries are also delicious. As for service, we have always had great service, since there's no assigned server, you just have to be flag the nearest one down haha, raise your hand really high lol great place for quick eats and sit down food read more

Haven't been here in some time, since before covid, and it's nice to see there's since a lot of guests at this business! The menu hasn't changed a bunch, but there are definitely a few new items for dinner/weekend specials. A lot of the dishes are a bit pricey in comparison to other hong kong cafes, but I think the dishes are also bigger in comparison. On this day, I got lemon ice tea ( which is unfortunately not refillable) and spanish coffee ( tastes so good with the vanilla ice cream on top). The filet mignon was cooked great - was medium rare in the inside, and had lots of diced mushrooms and onions underneath. The sea bass hot pot was also delicious, though would have been better if they cut down on the sliced pork and added more fish. Definitely will still be one of the main hong kong cafes staples in this area! read more
I frequent this place and I can say it's an authentic Hong Kong style cafe with a lot of options. The menu can be overwhelming because of the numerous items they serve. So, I do recommend you look at the menu prior to visiting just so you can pick the dish you absolutely want. Servers do want you in and out. The pro to that... Service is quick and the food is very fresh. I like to order a bunch a different dishes and share with the table but the portions for each dish is good for one person. read more

Very popular Hong Kong style restaurant. Their menu is absolutely enormous, with hundreds of items so there is definitely something for everyone. The portions are massive too, amazing value for sure. They are not stingy with the meat either. Everything tasted delicious and left me feeling satisfied and not bloated. Staff are friendly and the place is very clean. read more
this review is for the weekend prime rib special. I have been hearing this weekend special for years and finally had the chance to try it! overall, for $29, this is pretty good. I did not care for the sides (mashed potato and veggies). quality isnt the same as Lawry or Derby and only served on the weekend, but for the price i would 100% come back just for this. for reference, I made a mistake: since i ordered in chinese, i ordered 40% done (四成熟), thinking it is medium-rare. Garden Cafe has always been one of my "ole reliable" type of restaurants. Dependable food/staff and comfy seating here. I have never had a bad meal ever (look at my Yelp check-ins, 240 and many times where I forget to check-in too) and they open on all holidays, the perfect place for a nice dinner out when celebrating something. The Alhambra location was my OG spot though but I now live closer to this one and get just as great food. I think Arcadia Garden has better parking(private lot) than the Alhambra one(shared parking structure) even when it's busy. The food selection is plentiful and very sharable dishes. They even have special menu item sets on holidays like Mother's/Father's Day, Thanksgiving, New Year, Christmas, etc. Lemon iced tea, milk tea, and coffee always have free refills here (some HK cafes do not or only refill once). If you like chili, they have their own freshly made chili oil to use at the restaurant and you can even order a jar of it for home(just ask staff about it, they don't advertise it). But anyways, my family comes here so often the staff would get worried if we don't show up for a while. Extremely Canto parent approved, love this place. read more
Garden Cafe has been a local institution since the original one opened in Alhambra. Although it has had many ups and downs since then, it remains one of the go to places when you are craving a Hong Kong style cafe. On our latest visit to the Garden Cafe in Arcadia, we found the food to be well presented and in a generous portion size but, and it's a big "but" (no, I'm not referencing Sir Mix-a-Lot), the tastes were not as good as they should be. It wasn't bad at all but it lacked the all important "wok hay" and tasted a bit flat. But all in all it was still good and the waitresses were very kind and friendly so they will get a good rating. I just hope the next time they put a little more "oomph" in it and no, I don't mean MSG. read more

I went to the Garden Cafe and was planning to order dinner. Then the cashier told me they had afternoon tea. I ordered baked seafood rice and XO sauce pork emein. Both of them tasted delicious. You can add $1.50 for a cold drink or get the free hot drink. The service is good and attentive. read more
Located on a main street in arcadia, this go to spot has been the hk style eatery for years. There is a parking lot with plenty of parking but beware that there will be a packed lot if you come on the weekends. Seating is quick but service can be a while as they can get backed up. A classic spot to get hk style food at a good price. The food is good but not the best. Definitely come if you haven't but it's more of a local spot and may not be worth the trek out if you're further away. order: beef chow fun, oil chicken, club sandwich w/ fries, century egg w/pork porridge comments: order can be a little slow and parking can be a pain depending on when you come. read more

Went there for there afternoon tea time . Ordered the baked pork chop for $14 . Portion is on the smaller scale which barely can feed a grown men . Taste is just so-so nothing to write home about. What really infuriates me is the service or lack thereof. The time I visited wasn't busy and only Two Cantonese speaking waitresses were serving but they were standing in the other side of the restaurant next to the restroom chatting loudly among themselves and other customers , bashing USA and boasting how great China is. Throughout my entire dining experience I had to wave them for every single thing like order ,refill, bill , to-go box they had the nerve to forget every request I made.. needless to say I didn't tip them well ( which I am usually quite generous at) and wouldn't consider revisit .. read more

My parents went here for breakfast a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it, so they took us last weekend for lunch. It was all of our first times trying their lunch menu and we really enjoyed it. Quick review of the items we ordered: - Rack of lamb: 5/5 it was my mom's favorite. so tender and flavorful. And it was actually naturally tender (I think) because we couldn't taste the tenderizer that Hong Kong cafes often use on steak. - Oxtail with red wine sauce: 3/5 the oxtail was tasty and tender, but the sauce was too sweet for all of our likings. If they have the oxtail with another sauce, we'd try that next time. - Ox tongue with curry: 5/5 my boyfriend and dad loved this one the most. The curry had a nice kick to it, and like the other meats we ordered - very tender. - Udon with sea urchin, scallops, and shrimp: 5/5 this was my favorite dish and I could've eaten the whole bowl myself. It was so creamy and uni-flavored. I LOVED it. Will be thinking about this dish for days. In addition to the delicious food, their service was great too. I was surprised because people always joke that good Chinese food places never have good service, but this place definitely had both. Will be back next time I'm in town! read more
Classic HK style cafe, perfect for Cantonese breakfast/brunch. It is quite popular and the restaurant, as well as the parking lot get crowded quite quickly, so keep this in mind. Especially since the street it's on is a main one, getting street parking might suck too. As long as you get the server's attention (raising your hand, etc.), you're set. Expect classic Asian style service, IYKYK. Definitely get their HK style Lemon Tea, very refreshing and a good pick me up for the start of the day. I've had a plethora of their dishes here, ranging from their sweet condense milk oatmeal (???) I've never had this before and it's quite yummy. Steak and eggs, fried fish filet, baked spaghetti, Tom Yum soup, ham, macaroni soup (rare), and much more. Each time, the food is yummy and easy to eat, so it's perfect to bring kids here or someone who may be a bit pickier (especially since they have such a wide variety of food offerings on their menu). This place was pretty busy, it wasn't the same the last two times we were here. My daughter ordered her go to entree the chicken steak with black pepper sauce, wife ordered the preserved egg with meat porridge and I had the Beef chow fun with dark soy sauce. All the entrees are on par with their usual quality except the porridge which is very bland, overall it's what you expected from this place where is cheap price with large portions. Service here is like a box of chocolate where you don't know what you will get from different servers. read more
