Cutest shop ever! Ive been here before covid and its always packed! Its sad to see it at 33% capacity. They have heated outdoor seating with plenty of space. Closed off from the streets and cars passing by! Yummy pastries boxed up and ready to go Corn fritters are my favorite appetizers. Tom yum soup noodles is the best for a cold rainy day! The wavy egg noodle texture with the soup warms the soul. Comes with fish balls minced meat shrimps and pork. The pork is a bit dry. Only con. Crispy ginger chicken is also top choice. Did I mention huge portions and cheap prices! Ice cream desserts only $5! Packed with goodies and great flavors. Dont forget to check out their non Alcoholic drink menu. It was so good! Even take out food was amazing read more

It's been over a year since I last wrote my review here, and this has still been my go to authentic Thai spot. Whenever I'm trying to introduce my friends to Thai food other than the typical pad see ew or pad Thai, I'd bring them here and it never disappoints. Khao Nom is known for their traditional Thai Khao Nom (which means sweet desserts or snacks) but I come here for their food. For appetizers we got the corn fritters and curry puff. The corn fritters are very fun and shareable, while the curry puff packs in a punch in curry flavor wrapped up in a flaky dough. They both share the same dipping sauce of a sweet and sour sauce filled with fresh veggies, which gives the fried food a refreshing and light taste. Out of the three entrees we got, our hands down winner was the Chan noodles. The noodles were a litttle to dry but man.. the prawns. Giant. Juicy. Amazing. Definitely the highlight of the dish. Khao Soi is my personal favorite. You got the two texture of noodles (in the curry and fried on top) with a giant chicken drumstick under the fried noodles. At first glance it looks like a plain bowl of boring curry but it's not to be underestimated. It's already got some heat to hit, but they give you a side of pepper to kick it up a notch. This is definitely not something you can get at a regular Thai joint. And of course, the staff here is super sweet and welcoming. We were sitting in the smaller tables, but after our apps came we quickly realized there was definitely not enough table space. So they helped us move to one of the bigger tables (fits four of us comfortably, but you can squeeze in up to 8!) read more

Still easily top 3 Thai places in NYC, money goes further here than 90% other Thai places, food is more legit and true to Thai roots......spicy means THAI spicy, be warned haha xD I'm conflicted because I really want this place to be out there and want everyone to know how delicious this place is .......but I also love that it's not crowded and I don't have to wait! It's awesome! They've got a cute little setup for outdoor dining which is more spacious than the interior, they also have been doing grab-and-go, pre-packaged, freshly made meals (mine was still hot) at just $10, some even less. We bought the pork basil, steamed chicken with rice and pandan crepe ($5). The chicken dish was unfortunately dry and underwhelming , so give this a skip. The basil pork was delicious, the egg on top was perfectly gooey and the pandan crepes were extremely good (a bloody steal at just $5!!!!!!). If you don't know what pandan is, your mind is about to be blown ;) This restaurant deserves more attention and I know New Yorkers love their Thai food, so why not indulge in quality at a low price? Be sure to stop by and don't forget cash :D read more

Whatever you do, don't order Chan Pad Thai, which I came for. The noodle is not only undercooked but also overly saucy and sweet. They somehow made it rather spicy too. I'm not sure because I'm Thai or it's their recipe. I usually eat super spicy but of course not Pad Thai. I always like this Chan Pad Thai but this one is disappointing. Generally speaking, everything tastes quite sweet. Even my ABC friend mentions that the flavor is made for American. If you want authentic Thai, go to Khao Kang. The waitress recommended Thai Iced tea by saying it's not too sweet but I should have known better. Khao Nom is a sister of Khao Kang and I would not drink anything from Khao Kang unless I double it up with water. Not going back unless I want some Thai desserts, which are not available in a frozen section of an Asian supermarket. read more

They have a variety of food/dessert options here. I like that the food is laid out on the counter so you can see what they look like. It's also bad because then I want to try everything, lol. I got the thai basil chicken, which came with fried egg and soup. The food was good; the stir fry wasn't watery (it was more on the drier side, which I preferred). However, flavorwise, it's not my favorite compared to my 2 favorite thai basil places in Queens. It was pretty expensive, $15 for the meal if you sit in or $12 if take out from the counter. I thought this was more like a food court style, which is why I thought $15 was a bit expensive, something you would pay at a nicer dine-in thai restaurant. I guess it wasn't. I also got the mango sticky rice ($10). The mango was nice and sweet, but the sticky-rice was kinda hard. I used the heavy-duty plastic fork to cut/scoop a piece, and it made the fork bent. It needs to be a bit softer (I have my favorite one elsewhere where there's a balance of everything). I would come back to try other desserts they have. I just wished they weren't as expensive. read more

Skip the meal, grab the dessert! Having enjoyed the desserts from Khao Nom and recently found out they were doing lunch, decided to give lunch a try. Started with the steamed rice roll appetizer that was supposed to be filled with chicken, shrimp and tofu as the main ingredients with veggies including bean sprouts and cilantro. At first glance, was shocked at the size of the dish, wasn't expecting a burrito sized steamed rice roll. Upon taste, the rice noodle didn't seem freshly made and the interior ingredients were cold. Not warm, just plain cold. The ratio of the main ingredients was also off, more tofu and chicken minus the shrimp, including a ton of bean sprouts. Although the filling had good flavor, the rice noodle was a bit hard. The temperature of the dish really detracted from dish, steamed rice rolls are best served hot or warm, they age pretty quickly and aren't soft and silky for too long. The BBQ chicken was the best of the selections for mains, the flavor was certainly Thai and the sauce that came with the dish decidedly packed some heat. The fried chicken was a bit over fried and not as meaty compared to then BBQ Chicken. Other than being fried the complex Thai flavors were not present. The pork belly platter was a recommendation of the counter help. The sausage was nice and fatty, the fried pork belly was cold and not crispy, a bit soggy actually. The sauce that was slathered on top of the roast pork didn't add to the dish, I scraped off most of the pork before I ate it. It was a weird setup, I seated myself and after waiting for some time for a waitress, I got up grab menus and ordered from the counter. Not sure if that's how it was supposed to be. After I ordered, the food was brought out to me. They were also light on providing napkins, when asked, shorted one napkin with the number of people seated and water was self serve. read more

I've been ordering both dine in and delivery exactly the same dish (ka prow moo grob) for years (with instructions saved in the restaurant ordering system says NO BELL PEPPER) and there was one time they accidentally put bell pepper in my dish, the lady who took my order promptly apologised with a sincere voice and I got a replacement in a few. But today, another waitress was quite rude, I called back to let them know I got a bell pepper in my food again, she asked me, so, what do you want to do? She even awfully asked me to just take it out since they wouldn't sub anything extra for not taking the peppers anyway. I told her I'm allergic to bell peppers, and need a new one. She said ok, with a voice like talking to her friend (we're both Thai, so I know the way she talk is informal). Moreover, after few minutes, she called back telling me a delivery guy is on his lunch break, so I have to wait till he finish his meal (I feel bad for him though). Finally a food came and I returned the wrong one back to a delivery guy. I don't understand how can a restaurant hire a person who has this attitude to work for them. It's like she has never been train about food safety at all. Asking customer so what? What you wanna do? Instead of offering a way out is definitely not professional. Things can escalate if I got so allergic and have to see a doctor. Hope the owner will train their employees to be more cautious and better MANNERS. read more

Almost missed this spot because there was another Thai restaurant at the corner of the block. The khao nom sign was also hanging on the wall above the restaurant which is pretty misleading, but we were able to locate it, just have to walk further down the block. The restaurant itself is small and cozy, would seat around a group of 6-7 max. Each table has a different place card with an adjective. Once you walk in, your eyes are immediately drawn to the colorful dessert display at the counter. Casual ambiance, affordable prices. We ordered: - Thai corn fritter ($6 - fried corn & black pepper fritter with cucumber ah-jad sauce) - the ah jad sauce has cucumbers, red onion and tomatoes in a vinegary sauce that helps cut through the greasiness from the corn fritter. It was well seasoned, could really taste the black pepper and the sweetness of the corn. The fritter was very crispy too. Was an interesting and unique Thai dish to try. - Lettuce wrapped ($6 - rice flour wrapped around mushroom topped with shrimp floss on a red of mint, cilantro, and lettuce, served with a sweet chili lime sauce) - this was my favorite dish out if everything we ordered! I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it considering the menu didn't really make it sound as intriguing. It reminds me of chinese dimsum, the way a chewy rice skin is filled with savory mushrooms. The shrimp floss on top added extra flavor to the already well seasoned mushrooms, making it taste even meatier even though there isn't any pork of meat inside. The fresh greens were a nice textural contrast to the softness of the dumpling. The sweet chili lime sauce is pretty spicy if you try it on its own, but with the wrap, it becomes more mellow and you taste the tanginess of the lime more with a spicy after kick. - Butterfly pea drink ($3) - the menu has no description of the drink at all, so I actually didn't know I was getting a lemonade, not a tea or coconut based drink like some other places I know that serve butterfly pea drinks. It was still good, tastes like a lemonade with a slight floral note. And of course, really pretty to look at! - Egg yolk thread cake ($6 - sweetened egg yolk strands on top of a pandan cake with cream) - the texture of the egg yolk strands really threw me off, I was expecting it to be softer and more cake like, but the threads were almost too firm compared to the spongy pandan cake and whipped cream layers, that it felt really separate and didn't go well together. The pandan cake itself was very moist, not overly sweet, but honestly I would rather order another appetizer than this. Interesting dessert though. read more

Excellent! Khao Nom is another great Thai sweet spot in the inner side of town in Elmhurst. It's the sister location of Khao Kang so don't get the restaurants confused! When you do find it, this little spacious shop serves both savory and sweet dishes. The menu serves several delicious Thai dishes along with many fried appetizers! We ordered the corn fritters and shrimp cake which fulfilled our hunger pangs along with some large mugs of Thai tea. Besides the hot dishes, there are so many delicious little desserts to-go or stay in and eat while you people watch. It's a very beautiful space. It feels like you're eating back in a cute cafe in Asia. There are lots of pandan desserts too if you crave it. Customer service was great. We were greeted and took any seat available. There are several tables for couples or groups, as well as a bench for chilling outside. Clean big bathroom. Does not accept card. Cash only! Bon appetit! read more

My friend said this is her favorite Thai restaurant in Elmhurst, so I had to give it a try. When we first arrived the restaurant was pretty empty. They put two tables together for our party of 4, which at first seemed like quite a wide space for 4 people, but they warned us that the plates are very large, which we would eventually realize was very true when the food came out. We all got a thai tea and shared 3 appetizers, with my favorite being the kao pod tod (corn fritters). When the entrees came out we realized that we might have ordered a bit too much food, but it was fine since we knew we'd be able to get to-go boxes and have a nice late-night snack later in the evening. I wasn't the biggest fan of the Kuay Tiew Tomyum which I ordered, but I did enjoy the dishes that my friends got, so I definitely plan to come back some day and try ordering something else. On the way out, we also got some of the pre-made desserts which were all quite tasty. The food here was definitely higher quality and also easier on the wallet than many places in Manhattan or Brooklyn that I have been to. It's a shame that the restaurant was so empty on a Friday night. read more

Cash only spot, they have about 3 tables outside for outdoor dine in. I ordered the Khao moo dang, which is a simple delicious meal. Parking is a bit difficult around the area but isn't too bad. It's the sister store to Khao Kang and located directly behind it. It's a really cute place, but the place is on the small side, but I do love the decor and the setup. This place feels more like a casual lunch spot than a sit down restaurant. Yes, there are seats but it feels more like quick eat and go kind of place. Think of this place as more of a dessert place that happens to have entrees since there are a lot of desserts but only a handful of apps and entrees. In terms of the food, the flavors do feel a little modernized. The food: Thai Corn Fritter- Sweet corn, black pepper, garlic, cilantro, rice flour served with cucumber ah-jad sauce. The corn fritter was excellent. The corn had really good flavor, it was fried well since it wasn't greasy and I really enjoyed the sauce. This is a must order. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=FuMV_0vf8QLFE3OSlPM3Aw&userid=Y_iTTjKvV5hLy-880SZzlA Thai Curry Puffs- Chicken, potato, curry powder, black pepper served with cucumber ah-jad sauce. The curry puff was another good appetizer. I loved the dough and the curry potato filling was really good especially with some ah-jad sauce. This is another must order. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=76DHnGZcE7IE3qyfWUo66A&userid=Y_iTTjKvV5hLy-880SZzlA Shrimp Cake- Crispy shrimp paste with sweet plum sauce. The version here was just OK to me, it was interesting how this dish in Thailand is never crunchy but the version here was. Normally it is like a soft sponge, but the version here had very crispy edges that I wasn't sure how I felt about. The flavor on it was pretty good, though. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=Ti_pEiIZAPTUR_X0tgn1SA&userid=Y_iTTjKvV5hLy-880SZzlA "Chan" Noodle- Grilled jumbo prawn, served with stir-fried rice noodle, garlic, chive, bean sprout in a spicy tamarind sauce. Think of this as a spicy version of Pad Thai, a surprisingly spicy version of Pad Thai. The burn starts off slow but the burn definitely builds up and lingers for a bit. This was a really good dish and I would highly recommend it. The prawns are head on and a good size, they were very juicy, nicely cooked and packed with flavor. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=2n6oLF023tJsqlMqxK3dhg&userid=Y_iTTjKvV5hLy-880SZzlA Crispy Mussel Pancake- Egg, garlic, chive, bean sprout served w. sweet & sour sriracha sauce. This dish I thought was just so so. I did like how crunchy the pancake was but unfortunately I didn't find the dish to be all that flavorful and I really didn't like the cooked bean sprouts in the dish, they were really bland. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=XMF1JBWL_wSHf0QtLkxGXQ&userid=Y_iTTjKvV5hLy-880SZzlA The dessert: Roasted Taro Custard Cake- Damn was this good, this was my favorite dessert here. The dessert wasn't too sweet and I really enjoyed how light and fluffy the layers were. This is a must get. Taro Custard- This was good, it was light and not too sweet but I did find it to be a tad grainy but still good. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=zDPWqWX3Nje97Wr7fXHddw&userid=Y_iTTjKvV5hLy-880SZzlA Coconut Pudding- I liked the flavor, but it was weird to me that the coconut milk on top was not sweetened. The coconut milk also had an unusual floral taste that I wasn't crazy about. Pandan Layer- I normally really like this but this a bit too floral, I wish the layers were a bit more chewy and the pieces were a bit larger. Tapioca Pudding- The coconut milk on this one was too floral as well but I did like the tapioca filling with the corn on the bottom. read more

Weird service and unsatisfying food (neither my friend or I finished our dishes). The red flags were waving the moment I walked in, asking the server/hostess for one of the many empty outdoor tables. She said, "Why don't you sit inside with the AC, it's so hot out". I said no thank you, I'd like to sit outside, which she didn't seem to like. My friend whispered to me, "There's no AC in here, what is she talking about?" It was hot and small inside, meanwhile their outdoor dining set up was full of fans and flowers and fairy lights and fountains. The table we sat at was an old Singer sewing machine that had been repurposed, and when the hostess came to take our order we commented on how interesting that was. She complained it was heavy and she didn't like setting it up. Fine, let's skip small talk. The first entree came out in five minutes, never a good sign. The next entree followed a few moments later, with the appetizer. Nevermind that the appetizer is supposed to come first, but I'm guessing the speed we got our entrees meant the noodles were sitting out, pre-made. Both dishes were unpleasant in texture. The wide flat noodles were cooked down to mush, while the others clumped together, gummy and somewhat dry. I dipped them in the room temperature soup that came on the side that was not more than scallions in hot water. At least it loosened things up. Even the prawns were not worth finishing, they had no flavor. All the food bland. Oddly enough, the curry puffs were fine. Our waitress didn't come to check on us once while we ate, only to clear our half eaten plates no questions asked. Then she completely disappeared. Finally we just went inside to pay with the women handling takeout and we spotted our waitress sitting at a table eating a bowl of noodles. Could have given us the check first or told someone else to. I've heard the main draw here are the desserts over the food, but given the service I don't know that I'll be back anytime soon. read more

I used to think of this place as just the dessert complement of Khao Kang. I'd get their pandan rolls, these little pancake canolis filled with pandan goop, and give them out to coworkers so they'd think I'm cool (it worked). They're fantastic crowd pleasers. I later discovered that it's also lovely place to have a meal. The tables are made from old sewing machines and it feels like the sort of hip that's just hip enough. The window seats make me feel like I'm at a quiet cafe even when it's very loud. And the large windows provide perfect lighting for nice Instagrammable photos. I didn't take any from my most recent visit though, because it's also the sort of place that makes me want to put away my phone. It's the sort of place that makes me want to stay all afternoon, having delightful conversation with an eating companion. It's the sort of place that makes time feel irrelevant. This is problematic because I've only ever come here under time constraints. Several rice entrees come with a gooey egg and a heavily white-peppered soup. These alone are enough to keep me coming back. Their steamed chicken over rice is good but doesn't compare to Eim Khao Mun Gai a few blocks away. This time though, I got to try their crispy pork and oof, they do a good pork. The pieces were loosely falling out of the fried batter they were once encased in, but I strangely appreciated that. It gave me the option of also having the pork belly batterless, similar to the way fried chicken is juicy and tender beneath the deep fried skin. Years ago, I tried their now-discontinued pork bowl which had pork five ways in one soupy bowl. It was amazing and I hope they bring it back. Pork might be their ikimoo*. *Ikimoo isn't a real word. It's a play on the Japanese word ikigai and the Thai word for pork, moo. Also, the Thai word for chicken is gai and it would have made more pun sense if I could say that gai was their ikigai. But it's just not. So I'm left to butcher multiple languages simultaneously. read more

I ordered the Chan noodles and they were absolutely no bueno. Sour tasting and noodles stuck together and the prawns, while giant, didn't taste really fresh. Maybe forgivable if it were $12 like it shows on Yelp but the prices are outdated and it's $17 now which is too expensive for something I can't really eat. I think maybe I need to try some other menu items but it was a disappointment for me. The folks are very sweet though and the little homemade desserts are fine. read more

We ordered the corn fritters, pork belly, and chan noodles. Corn fritters was good, but the other two were not good. Do not get the pork belly, it's was straight up boiled pork belly flavorless, covered in a thin layer of fried dough. The chan noodles shrimp was good but the noodles wasn't that special. Pandan crepe is good, pandan flower jellies is okay, the durian sticky rice was overly sweet. The tom yum noodles was like a sweet noodle soup, it was okay but the cha siew pork in it was not good. read more

Average, run of the mill Thai restaurant. On a block that has 3 other Thai restaurants. The food is actually better than Ayada, which has gone downhill in quality over the years, but I like Spicy Shallot better which is right across the street. They used to be associated with Khao Kang next door, which is always busy, but apparently they have recently split. I think there is potential here, but they need to have some standout dishes or I can't see them succeeding long-term with so much competition around. Service is friendly. read more

Walked over here for brunch on a sunny Saturday afternoon. At first we went to the main stop on the corner, but they told us to go further down the street for the main sit-down restaurant. Small interior with a few tables and large open windows to let the breeze in. Immediately was able to order up front. Settled on the Chan Noodle ($12) and a Thai Iced Coffee ($3). Coffee comes out first, a sweet/bitter concoction with crushed ice inside. For the main course was a dense pile of fried rice noodle with 4 whole grilled prawn on top and bean sprouts to the side. Didn't realize the entire prawn would be on the dish, so had to de-shell a bit while eating the meat. Noodle is made well - a generous amount of spice without being overbearing. Sprouts to the side were negligible. Even though cash-only sucks, it does keep the prices down in this instance. Also lots of desserts/snacks you can take away as well. Will certainly come back to try dinner. read more

Okay, now that my belly is doing somersaults and happy dances after dinner here, it is time to quickly write the review, fresh in mind. Actually, my belly wants to fight me for ordering so much :/ NOTE: It is self-service- order at the register and seat yourself. We ordered the thai curry puffs appetizer (comes with three puffs). The puffs are nicely spiced (not spicy) with chunks of chicken and potato. The dip was sweet and sour (cucumber, purple onion, red peppers). The outer layer of the puff is like eating a fried shortbread cookie (texture-wise lol). We rate it 4/5. We also got the BBQ pork jowl. It was delicious. A bit sweet and nicely charred! It comes with a dipping sauce that is coated in rice powder on top (we think it's rice powder). Great dish, not too salty or sweet. Nothing else to say. Try it for yourself. Boyfriend got the dumpling soup (Pak Maw Noodle Soup). He was head over heels in love with the dish. He just wished it was a tiny bit less sweet. Otherwise, he really enjoyed his dumplings. The dumplings contained shrimp, mushroom, and firm tofu. In addition to dumplings, there was grounded pork, tiny shrimp, two boiled eggs, Vietnamese ham, and pork ribs. He rates this dish a 4.5/5. And for me, I got the Moo Dang (contains fried pork belly, fried sweet sausage, rice, five spice pork, two pieces of cucumber slices, and a tasty soup). Super filling. We ought to save room for dessert next time... read more

Since I was still full from Khao Kang, I only ordered coconut custards and iced Butterfly Pea Juice to share with my husband and a friend that was joining us. I heard about this place from a NYTimes article, and I would say this place is one of the more unique eateries I've been to in my whole life - I'm too accustomed to Thai desserts consisting only of mango sticky rice and Thai iced tea. First off, Khao Nom isn't on Woodside Ave, it's actually slightly down 77th St, if you're having trouble finding it. Luckily, there's a big sign that says "Eat here" that helps a little bit, but maybe they should consider investing in a neon sign or something. For the food: I came pretty late (9pm), and the cashier informed us that if we were to go earlier in the day, there would be more ready made desserts. After reading the rest of the reviews, I am now very sad that I missed out on these desserts, but life goes on and I must persevere. We ordered the tapioca/pandan noodles in coconut milk with shaved ice, coconut balls, and pandan cake. The pandan noodles were so subtly fragrant, in contrast with the incredibly sweet coconut milk syrup. The shaved ice was just kinda hanging out in the bowl, but it was a nice addition as well. My favorite was probably the coconut balls, which were heated up and contained some sort of filling. The pandan cake was great as well, but did seem a little redundant after the pandan noodles. I'm giving this place five stars because I feel like I can come back here and try something different and still be blown away. read more

Khao Nom is a charming small snacks and dessert bar in Elmhurst. This cafe/restaurant is cute and cozy; the desserts are great and service is very good. The vibe of the customers and staff felt like family. A couple moved from one table to accommodate our group of 5. The customers bused their own plates. Everyone was so friendly for New York. There are succulents hanging from the ceiling, Edison bulbs providing lighting and a old telephone near the door. The tables are old Singer-style sewing tables. We arrived with friends after having a Thai dinner 10 blocks away. Five of us ordered the following for dessert: Thai Ice Cream- this was delicious. Thai Ice tea ice cream with peanuts and gelatin shaped like lima beans. This was so novel with so many textures and tasty! Pandan coconut steamed layer cake- This was one of my favorites. The subtle sweet pandan with the sweet coconut. I also loved the green colors. Reminded me of the jellos my mom used to layer for group parties. Tapioca pudding with corn- The chewy gelatin on top with the corn on the bottom was surprising. I enjoyed it. If you don't like corn, you won't. Egg Yolk Thread Cake/ Foy thong cake- this looked so beautiful. Egg yolk is pulled to string-like consistency and baked as the top layer of the cake. The lower levels were delicate pandan flavors. I liked this and thought it was beautiful. It was certainly time intensive to make. Taro custard- I really enjoyed this. It is not pretty but very tasty. Its sweet taro with a chewy custard consistency (as if made from tapioca flour). I would definitely reorder this. Coconut ball- the least favorite of the group. It was sticky ball dessert covered with coconut on the outside. The inside had caramelized coconut flakes. Butterfly pea lemonade- this was beautiful. It was limeade with a twist. The purple color comes from a Thailand blossom that blooms on a vine called the butterfly pea. It was so unique. What a wonderful time! Thank you for the hospitality and unique desserts! I would definitely reorder the Taro custard, pandan coconut steamed layer cake and the Thai Ice cream. instagram.com/snackchatnyc read more

Great food great service. Never been disappointed in their food regardless of what I get.

Stopped here after visiting the temple and we were so blown away- the food is amazing! I want to bring my whole family here! The staff are so nice and the butterfly tea was nice to drink with the meal. I will definitely be coming back! read more

Came here for lunch and ordered the Chan noodles, which were wonderful and packed with lots of flavor! The texture was soft and chewy, and the noodles were sweet/salty--really addicting. The shrimp were huge and I had to pack the dish to-go since I couldn't finish. My friend and I also shared the butterfly pea drink and Thai ice cream, both of which were reasonably priced. The pea drink has a light herbal and fruity lemon taste--it wasn't like anything I'd ever had before, but I still liked it a lot since it wasn't too sweet. Also very instagrammable! The ice cream was incredible and came with so many toppings that I could barely describe. There were sweet taro chunks, corn, warm glutinous rice, and a soft clear pine-nut looking thing that I really enjoyed. Only complaint is that my food took about 25-30 minutes to arrive. I was also confused about how to order since you have to go up to the cashier to tell them what you want. They have a wide selection of pandan desserts that also looked very tasty. Would definitely consider coming back! read more

The place is definitely authentic. Read through the whole menu and I know immediately that I can't get these authentic dishes with reasonable prices anywhere in Manhattan. What impressed me so much was to see my favorite Thai desserts! Khanom Chan (Tapioca cake), Tubtim krob (ruby water chestnuts in sweetened coconut milk), Khanom Tom (Tapioca balls stuffed with sweet coconut flakes), and many more! read more

Khao Nom - Khao Soy Chicken. Curry Chicken with egg noodle. - Desserts Near Me - Elmhurst, New York

Really great authentic Thai food. Menu is different from your typical Thai place, which is a nice change. The coconut pandan dessert jellies are really good. Plates/portion are on the larger side. read more

Amazing place for dessert! It's right next to another Thai restaurant and the perfect place for dessert after a meal. I visited after having lunch next door at the Thai restaurant. The seating space is not too big, but big enough for around 6 to 7 groups of 4. They had so many food options, treats, and pastries, but I was only interested in the ice cream. I tried the Thai ice cream and it was 3 or 4 big scoops of ice cream with a variety of toppings. You are also allowed to mix and match the scoops with taro black bean ice cream. I didn't mix as I am not a fan of taro. The toppings consisted of coconut milk, sticky rice, some type of oval-shaped white jelly, sweet corn, and potatoes. It was delicious and what I expected. I also noticed the drinks at the restaurant next door are the same, but a bit cheaper. tl;dr - delicious Thai ice cream; drinks a bit cheaper next door read more

I woke up from my dream one morning and dreamt of my vacation in Thailand a few years ago. Had the serious itch and craving for some legit Thai and randomly remembered this spot. So I discovered this spot a few years ago caused a friend who grew up in Bangkok, Thailand stopped by here to pick up take-out one day and I so happen to be with her. Anyway thought of this place and so we came! Didn't disappoint and already thinking of another time to visit again when I have time! read more

Lunch menu is no longer offered. It was serviced with appetizer and a dessert. And it was a bargain. For the price that I pay in here, I can definitely go somewhere else for larger portion. read more

Incredible thai dessert place! It is run by a Thai woman--although she does not speak much English we could still tell she was passionate about her desserts. And it shows. She makes a pandan layer jelly and her signature pandan/coconut cake. The pandan has a floral and light flavor which makes it more complex and interesting. The cake was incredible--light and delicate. The coconut ice cream is also a winning dessert. It comes with a variety of toppings and a sticky rice base. We did not eat dinner there, we ate at the great sister restaurant next door. But we would definitely come eat dinner here next time too. The dishes look amazing. read more
