Khao Nom could just be content with being a great Thai desert spot, but that doesn't suit them. They make sure that you're full of good food on the way to that final course! The place is cozy and charming, with an industrial decor. Service was attentive and friendly. The food was excellent. We had Moo Yang (barbecue pork butt) and Kao Mun Gai Tod (crispy fried chicken and ginger rice) and both were delicious. Thai iced tea is also a good call, but the real move here is desert. There are a solid twenty items here that you don't usually see in the area, from coconut black sticky rice with egg custard to mung bean pudding, you can't go wrong. There are daily additions like pumpkin in coconut milk that are dependent on what's ripe at the moment. Seriously, you can come here for a month straight just to try a new desert each time, and we're thinking that we just might! Great place.
If you're around Elmhurst, Queens, this is a Thai spot you don't want to miss Khao Nom delivers the true taste of Thai street food with bold, authentic flavors in every bite. From comforting rice dishes and slurp-worthy noodles to vegetarian options, fresh salads, and smoky BBQ, the menu has something for everyone. And save room for dessert -- they have so many dessert options to choose from. The adorable fruit-shaped mung bean sweets are almost too cute to eat, made with smooth and lightly sweet mung bean paste Everything here is packed with flavor, making Khao Nom a true hidden gem for Thai street food lovers.
I have been eyeing this cute little Thai restaurant for a while now because their dessert menu looked interesting. My brother and I decided to go one day and he is a pretty picky person but he seemed to enjoy this restaurant as much as I did. We started off with a salad, the Yum Hed Tod, it looked insane but it was basically just fried enoki with a side salad/dip that was a spicy seafood salad. It was delicious and so crunchy. Then we got the Thai Corn Fritters which was also really good. It came with a sticky sauce, almost like simple syrup but with red onions and cucumbers. The sweetness of the dip went perfectly with the fired corn. Then, my brother got the Pad Thai which was super good, the noodles were a perfect texture and the flavor was also great. Then I got the Kao Moo Kra Tiem which we both thought was just okay, I will definitely have to try something else next time I am there. The flavors were more on the mild end and the sauce was basically just Tabasco. Finally, we got to the dessert part of it but unfortunately the dessert I wanted to try was sold out so they recommended me to try the Tub Tim Grob which was good but the weather was too cold for it. I think I will come back in the summer and try more of their shaved ice items then. Overall service was good. They checked up on us and were very patient with us as well looked over the menu.
This has become one of my favorite places. This restaurant is on the side street, not on the Main road, don't get the restaurants mixed up, because I did haha. The place is small but feels homey. The staff were all friendly and very welcoming. Food, well, it was great. The curry puffs were stuffed and the pastry was flakes and crunchy. Flavor was there and it had some chicken. I missed that part but it as a pleasant surprise. The shrimp cakes were delicious and you can tell it was hand made smashed patties, made it authentic. Now to the tom you soup and noodles by far my favorite. Spices, tangy, just so flavorful and perfect for the cold weather. It was load with shrimp and ground meat, and came with a couple of Wonton chips. Can't wait to come back.
Cute little restaurant/cafe that serves south East Asian desserts and Thai food. Food Menu mostly consists of rice combo dishes, rice dishes and noodles. The variety on the dessert menu is a little insane. Came for lunch and ordered the fried pork belly over rice that came with a soup and cucumbers. I wasn't really a fan of the soup. Didn't have much taste and tasted a lot like msg to me. First bite of the pork belly was delicious. Crispy and flavorful. The sauce was a tad bit sweet for me so I asked for the chili sauce on the side and that worked well for me. After a couple of bites, I noticed that the majority (more than 90%) of the pork was all fat and barely any mixed lean and fatty pieces. Even as a self proclaimed fat lover, I was a little bit overwhelmed by how fatty it was. I'm not a carb lover but to offset the full pieces of fat, I ate most of the rice. I felt like this was definitely not a piece of pork belly that should have been served. Wanted to try the dessert but was feeling a little nauseas after the meal so couldn't really order anything extra to eat.
Been here twice recently and both times the food and service has been spectacular. Authentic Thai flavors and dishes that goes beyond the staples of pad Thai. Their egg crepe, soup noodles, crispy pork were all fantastic. Will definitely keep coming back
Very delicious tom yum noodle soup. Got the medium and even with a high spice tolerance that was spicy. My partner thought the fried chicken was ok. Banana cupcakes were moist and warm. Thai tea was good/strong. I'd come back for tom yum noodle soup if im in the area.
Small restaurant with casual vibes. When we got seated the table was a little dirty but the waitress and kind and quick to clean it up. Corn fritters: My favorite dish but I just love corn in general. The sweet and sour sauce that came with it was delicious with the fried corn fritters. Crab egg roll: Kind of reminded me of a tuna salad stuffed inside of an egg roll, but with crab instead of tuna. It was good, but I probably wouldn't get again. Khao soi: My boyfriend devoured this dish and couldn't stop drinking the curry soup. Personally, I didn't think this khao soi stood out from any others that I've had in the past from other Thai restaurants. The chicken was also a little drier than I would like. Mango salad with crispy fish: Can't go wrong with a mango salad and fried fish! I only wish they cut the fish into smaller pieces so it would blend with the salad a bit more, instead of giving one giant filet beneath all the salad.
Great selection of desserts, and they do both dine-in and takeout! Pandan crepes lived up to my expectations, and my boyfriend really liked the taro rice ball as well. Note that there is a $15 minimum for credit cards.
They heat up all the dessert. 4/5 Tokyo pandan $7- Really good, but wish it was a bit less sweet. I like some places, they're not stingy with the pandan cream/custard filling. 4/5 pandan layer cake $5- Has a strong floral flavor, which may be too strongly scented/tasting for some. Very fragrant & not too sweet. 3/5 coconut jelly $5- This is basically agar, so it's very firm, not soft like the pandan layer cake. Good otherwise.
Incredible food, tastes just like the stuff I had in Thailand. Corn fritters (kao pod tod) - crispy and served with a sweet sauce. Crispy rice taco (buang yuan jay) - crispy on the outside and filled with stir fried vegetables. The spices and carrot are the most notable flavors. Also served with the same sweet sauce. Mock duck salad (yum ped jay) - the mock duck is fried crispy, and the dressing is spicy and funky. Probably my favorite dish. (Not pictured) Pad Ka Pao Gai - my friends enjoyed this one, but I didn't try it. Taro Custard - sweet but not overly so, with a nice cake like texture and golden thread over top. Coconut milk custard - really nice texture and definitely sweeter than the other dessert. Pronounced coconut flavor. The meal worked out to about $25 per person for three people. This was absolutely worth a visit.
Southeast Asian desserts will always have a special place in my heart, especially since I love pandan and coconut. I got here kinda late so had to get everything to go. -Lod Chong: reminded me of a Chendol with the coconut milk, but sweeter and with chewier jellies. Make sure to give it a good mix and would recommend adding in ice like the lady said. -Bah Bin Coconut Pancake: super chewy with a nice crunch from the coconut shreds. Loved how it wasn't too sweet and super snackable! -Kanom Tuay: Loved the slightly salty coconut cream on top. It overall wasn't chewy and felt more like in between a cake and pudding. -Taro Custard: didn't expect it to be so dense and like sponge cake. Loved how it wasn't too sweet but also the taro flavors were more subtle. -Tapioca Pudding: while I liked the corn, crunchy fruits, and tapioca, the pudding had an odd ?artificial taste. The coconut cream on top was thick and also had a weird sweetness to it. It was still an interesting dessert but the flavors threw me off a little. The store had a good amount of seating. They are known for their desserts, but also have savory snacks and casual dishes that I really want to try next time! Credit cards accepted but extra 3%. The lady who took my order was very sweet and nice!
Came here to get their crispy fried chicken with ginger rice and it is always fresh and delicious, especially with their special sauce. Today, their dessert captured my attention. Their Tokyo Pandan is amazing!!! It was sweet with a slight hint of salt. It is soft and the pandan custard is so tasty. The Pia Cakes Mung Bean with Salty Egg was good and has this floral flavor to it which I didn't expect. After the 1st one, it tasted better, but didn't have much mung bean or salted egg flavor and mostly floral. The service is a hit or a miss depending who it is. The restaurant is small and packed with many tables after the new arrangements.

I would give zero if I could. I came there with my friends and we only want to get Thai dessert. We were forced to order at least one order per a person if you don't want to order any food. You have only 15 minutes for dine-in. We ordered ice cream. We only have 10 minutes to finish our ice cream because server already took 5 minutes from us to prep&serve. We were so uncomfortable and not enjoyed at all. Moreover, the server was rude and gave us her attitude. Plus, the desserts weren't tasty. Nothing impressive. Definitely, we won't be back and not recommend this place to anyone. read more
It looks like I have found another neighborhood gem that I'll be a regular at! Khao Nom has been on my radar for awhile now given that they're one of the few Thai restaurants in my neighborhood that has a big Thai dessert menu. We walked in for lunch on a Friday and were surprised to see that there was no lunch special menu. No matter-- the prices were still on the lower end for Thai food and very competitive compared to other places in our neighborhood. As always, I found myself looking for my go to basics of Pad Thai, Crab Fried Rice, Pad See Ew. To my surprise, they were absent. However, there were so many other delicious sounding dishes that we ended up ordering a bunch of things we usually don't get at a Thai Restaurant: Hor Joy, Fried Pork Belly Over Rice, and Ocean Salad. My fiancee also ordered a Thai Iced Coffee, which was shockingly only $3!! The coffee came in a big glass with shaved ices and was strong yet sweet. Hor Joy: This appetizer comprised of crab meat and pork wrapped in fried tofu skin. This was the perfect app to whet the appetite. Each piece didn't have a bold flavor but the sweet and sour sauce complemented the flavors so well. Fried Pork Belly Over Rice: This was what it sounds like. While it was good and tasted great with the sweet tamarind sauce, I think this is a plain dish and would recommend getting one of the other variations on the menu. Ocean Salad: A very unique salad comprised of fried enoki with a sweet and tangy ceviche of baby scallop, shrimp, cashews and carrots. I really loved this dish and the ceviche was such a refreshing pairing to the fried crisps! While it looked intimidating, this was actually a light dish that kept me wanting more. Finally to close out a great meal, we had to get the Pandan shaved ice for dessert. For $5 we got a big bowl of coconut milk shaved ice with condensed milk, jackfruit, and pandan jellies. It was delicious, sweet, and a must try for pandan/coconut lovers. We had such a great time that we bought a box of their pandan coconut jellies home. These look dense but in fact are some of the lightest, softest, and most fragrant jelly desserts I have ever had. The coconut flavor is strong but accented with floral notes. Ambiance and service here is on the casual side, with sewing machine tables and minimal seating but the food here is so authentic and delicious that it overshadows any shortcomings. read more
Ate here today for dinner after work. I had been eating there several times already and it tastes really good and delicious that I usually get the fried pork belly over rice with a side of couple of slice of cucumbers, tamarind sauce and soup. Yum! The service was also really good and efficient that I seem to wait patiently to get served and get my order correctly. I couldn't agree more! Finally, I would definitely eat and come back again! :) read more

So first off, please make sure you go to the correct restaurant, the corner restaurant is called (Khao Kan), their food is good too but that's not what you are here for... Khao Nom is actually on 77th St between woodside and 45th street... Directly attached to Khao Kan, I'm sure many has made that mistake, I was one of em. Secondly, Get here early and get their desserts, the locals will buy out their desserts. And they go quick... Not gonna make recommendations on which to get because it's dessert and thats all personal preference. Let's talk Authenticity, straight up Thai owned and operated. Ambiance and decor. Very village style and recycled items, the tables are made from old style sewing machines... Very interesting. Service: place can be busy, but servers try very hard to be attentive. Food: We ordered the following Thai Iced Tea Kao Pod Tod (Corn Fritter) 5 spices chicken noodle soup Kao Ob (Fried Rice) Kao Mun Gai (steamed chicken with rice) YUM PLA MAMOUNG (Fried Fish) Moo Ping (pork Skewers) Kor moo yang (marinated grilled pork) Honestly trying to break down what each dish tasted like is gonna be much longer than what you probably wanna read... So quick break down. If you want something more on the plain and healthy, go with the steamed chicken with rice. If you feel adventurous without spicy go with the fried rice. Must get the skewers and the corn fritters. Flavorful, and noodles obviously go with the 5 spice chicken noodle soup. I personally really loved the fried fish, And you can order it with no spicy, mild, or hot. Thai Iced Tea, they used crushed shaved ice which honesty almost feels like a Thai Iced Tea slushy. read more
The reality is ...... I don't want to share how good this place is because I want it to be my little secret BUT they deserve more recognition. Twice as good as some of the other (unnamed) more popular places in this area yet at a far more reasonable price point and great portions. The pandan crepe rolls are to drool over. The soups, stews, friend fish and chicken are just too incredibly tasty the service is always sweet and prompt. Love the seating near the windows that open up all the way and they have extended seating outside. I love this place soooo much .... I will promise to try everything on the menu. =) read more
On my journey to find a go to Thai Spot and sadly this wasn't going to be it. Ambience: Industrial vibes with old world sewing machine tables. I loved it. It was quickly ruined when not one but two tables were sticky and there was food still on them. I understand if it's busy but there was no one inside on a Tuesday mid-day. We ordered the Kao Moo Dang, Mixed Seafood Noddles, and the Kao Pod Tod. The Kao Moo Dang essentially is a sampler served with rice and a broth. The crispy pork could have been so much better. It was served at room temperature. Nothing on the plate felt like it touched a hot pan or at least and oven. There was a sliced pork in an overly sweet sauce. The sausage was nice but needed to be warm. The broth was the highlight. The mixed seafood noodle was weird. Each component had a different flavor. The shrimp was tasty but the squid was chewy and felt old. The scallop was over cooked and chewy. The noodles were mushy and tasted weird. This isn't my first rodeo with Thai food and this wasn't the usual flavors. The Kao Pod Tod was good. It's corn fried in batter. My SO decided to pass on desert and she really wanted to enjoy the pandan pancake but it was unfortunately not something that's freshly made. It's just in a container sitting at the desk. The waitress and cashier were polite and friendly. Unfortunately this will not be a repeat. From all the reviews I expected better. I wanted it to be my close go to Thai spot. The hunt continues. read more

Today I decided to stop by here today and try it out after hearing rave things about it. Definitely worth it. I got the following: Tofu Skin Rolls Tom Yum Noodle Soup BBQ pork The Tofu Skin Rolls' outside was light and crispy, the inside pork was well seasoned, it had a slight fish/ crab and garlic flavor. Overall REALLY tasty. Tom yum noodle soup- not that spicy, broth was ok. Slight chili oil flavor, had ground pork, egg, fish ball, shrimp. Meh, I've tasted better. BBQ Pork- VERY good, juicy, tender, sweet and tasty. Definitely the mvp. Will definitely come here again. read more
Walked in as a group of 4 on a Saturday afternoon and immediately got seated. This place is definitely more of a order at the counter, grab your stuff get out but if you have time, you could sit and enjoy a quick bite. The appetizers were good but the actual dishes themselves left something to be desired. The bbq pork jowl and the fried chive pancakes were the best things there. The pad thai dish was too sweet and the noodles were soggy. The 5 spice chicken was also whatever. Nothing stood out. It's sad to say but I'd probably avoid this place and just go across the street to Ayada Thai. read more

Khao Nom is one of best Thai restaurants in the neighborhood. The interior decor is simple and lovely with vintage style adornment. We had a lunch with friends last week at their outdoor dining and it's cozy with strong heater. We had 2 small plates to share as appetizers, Crispy Crab Spring Roll and BBQ Pork Jowl. For entree, we ordered 2 bowls of Tum Yum Noodle Soup, 1 Grilled Fish Salad and 1 Chicken Yellow Curry Noodle. The food was amazingly delicious and our favorite was the Tum Yum Noodle Soup, which was flavorful with lots of ingredients. Their service was friendly, attentive and reacted to all the requests quickly. We founded a iron string in the pork jowl and the staff served us a new one immediately with apologies. There is a great variety of Thai pastries and desserts. We brought home a cup of mini taro cake and it was so good. We definitely will try other options shortly. read more
A group of family, friends, and I dined at Khao Nom in Elmhurst, Queens, NYC and it might be safe to say this is the best and also most authentic Thai food I've eaten in NY thus far, and possibly ever. Which is truly saying a lot, because I grew up eating a lot of Thai food. To the point where whenever my family wasn't meeting with extended family for the holidays, we'd often order Thai food the day before a holiday (since a lot of places were closed on holidays), to eat the next day. The portions at this cute, quaint spot were huge and all four of us thought everything we tried was absolutely delicious! Here's what we ordered: Thai teas (a Thai staple drink) Appetizers: -Tod Mun Goong (crispy shrimp paste served with sweet plum sauce) - my fav -Kao Pod Tod (sweet corn, black pepper, garlic, and rice flour, served with Thai Cucumber Relish sauce) - 2nd fav -Por Pieh Poo (crabmeat, avocado, red onion, garlic, and black pepper, served with spicy sweet & sour sauce) - 3rd fav Main courses: -Kao Ka Pao Moo Krob (stir-fried crispy pork belly, hot bas, bell pepper, and string beans, served with a fried egg and jasmine rice) -Kuay Tiew Tomyum (a soup with pork, shrimp and fish balls, crispy pork skin, peanuts, coriander, chili, boiled egg, and noodles) -Kao Moo Dang (crispy pork belly, roasted pork, sweet sausage, boiled egg, homemade peanut gravy, and black sweet sauce, served with jasmine rice) -Kao Pad American (crispy fried chicken, chicken hot dog served with fried egg, Thai style tomatoes, and fried rice) Loved the aesthetic of this spot and also service was excellent too. Very attentive. I give them 5 out of 5 stars! read more
While known for its desserts, Khao Nom also offers a pretty good dining experience. Khao Nom is located behind its sister restaurant Khao Kang, on the Thai restaurant row of Woodside Avenue, Elmhurst. We stopped by Khao Nom for an outdoor lunch on one of the last temperate days of November 2020. The restaurant has a mostly enclosed outdoor dining area that protects against wind and rain, with two entrances and heat lamps. Khao Nom seems true to Thai levels of spice (heat), which should be understood before making a decision to come here. While I enjoyed the food, the spice levels made the experience uncomfortable for my companion, as even a mild level in her food was too much for her. The default heat level of my food was so high that it momentarily affected my friend's hearing. Dishes We've Had: - Yellow Curry Chicken Noodle (Chicken Khao Soi). I would have preferred that they marinate the chicken leg. A delicious curry with a heat level that hits immediately. - Hot Basil Seafood Rice (Seafood Pad Ka Prao). With a heat level that builds. - Thai Curry Puffs. Very good, with a large amount of filing. Suggested tips are calculated based on post-tax subtotals, and start at 18%. read more
We came here just before closing and ordered a bunch of small desserts but unfortunately can't recall the names. My favorites were the coconut ice cream and pandan vermicelli with shaved ice. Thank you to the women who let us stay right until closing time! read more
Amazing food done in their own way!! I requested less ice in my thai ice tea and the waitress complied. Not only that, the ice are crushed rather than cubed which takes up most of the space. As much as i hate bean sprouts, i liked it in the mussels pancake. The curry noodle was really filling, curry was thick and coated the noodles really good. The Tom yum soup has a nice balance of sourness. all the ingredients mixed well together. read more
Local and authentic Thai food! My family and I came and tried their curry dish, the pad Thai, an appetizer that I forgot the name but so good and not spicy (it had shrimp and small scallops) definitely ordering again, and a rice dish. I loved the ambience and they have desserts on display that reminded my in laws of Southeast Asia. The service was very quick and attentive, quick to give us water and checking on us. The indoor space has a few tables but their outdoor space is a great extension of more seating. Highly recommend!! Cash only! read more
I would recommend ordering the crispy crab spring roll as an appetizer. It is filled with real crab meat! I always order the Chan Noodle because I love pad thai and I love spicy food. It comes with sweet and spicy prawns. It is definitely spicy and I will not recommend if you cannot handle thai spicy. The bbq pork jowl is also very good and it comes with a sticky rice on the side. For dessert, definitely order the mango sticky rice, sweet thai crepe filled with coconut pandan custard and the savory thai crepe with shaved salty egg yolk. You will love everything you order from there, I promise! read more
This was a tiny cute restaurant that I wanted to try. We ordered the fried corn fritters and the Tom yum noodle soup. Both were absolutely delicious. The fritters were crispy and chewy, and you can really taste and feel the corn. The pickled cucumbers and red onion really enhanced the flavoring of the dish. My only complaint is that it was still pretty oily when it came to us so as it sat, it got soggier as time passed. The Tom yum soup was nice and hearty, with a little sweet and sourness that really satisfies your taste buds. The soft boiled egg was cooked to perfection and the pieces of bbq pork really melted in your mouth after soaking in the soup. The soup was also on the thicker in so it ended up being similar to a watery sauce. These two dishes ended up being good for two people, though it was a bit on the lighter side. Overall, a great and satisfying meal. read more
Homestyle restaurant with spacious outdoor seating, and with a cramped indoor setting. Their menu here is traditional Thai, and they offer a variety of dessert and snack options. The prices here are inexpensive, and the portions are generous. The service here is fast and efficient. The only issue is that they are inconsistent with their closing hours. Sometimes, I come at a reasonable time at night, around 1 hour before they close, and they're no longer open for service. We tried the Thai corn fritters (4/5), which had an airy and soft exterior with a filling and dense interior. The tom yum noodle soup (4/5) was generous with its medley of ingredients, and all the flavors and textures worked together nicely. The broth was soothing as well. The calamari (4.5/5) was crispy, airy, and tender. The crispy pork with rice (3.5/5) was crispy, succulent, and properly seasoned, but it had a strong gamy aftertaste. The crispy rice taco (4.5/5) was flavorful and light. Lastly, the khao moo dang (1/5) was a disappointing dish that lacked freshness. The meat was clearly old, served cold and chewy. Though some of their dishes are excellent, they need to work on the quality and consistency of their other menu items. read more

There's a new spot in town, so I gave it a try. Had the fried corn, garlic pork over rice, pork jowl (you don't see that at many Thai places--it's a bit on the heavier side), and Tom Yum noodle soup. The vibe is great, and the staff is super friendly. I'd say it's worth a visit, especially with their variety of desserts to top it off. Just make sure to go early--it gets pretty packed around 1 PM. read more

This place is a haven for Thai desserts. In the week leading up to my planned meal here, I fantasized about the Thai tea cream puff, pandan torched meringue tart, and steamed banana cake that I saw on their Yelp page. Unfortunately for me, they were out of most of their desserts by the time I arrived on a weekday evening. What I did get to try was mostly delicious. I'll start with the good. The hot basil seafood rice dish is exactly the sort of comfort meal my rice loving self craves on a rainy day. The sliced peppers had that charred, breath of the wok aroma, and there were plenty of scallops, shrimp and squid, flecked with a spicy chilli that grew in heat over time. The sauce paired incredibly well with the jasmine rice and crispy fried egg it came with. The bowl of soup was light but had a deep, delicious umami to it. The shrimp cake were some of the best I've ever had. The outside was coated with a crispy breading and the inside was akin to fish cake, except even more flavorful with shrimp. The sweet sauce it came with gave it the perfect balance between sweet and savory. When I ate these for leftovers the next day, I drizzled some honey on top and it had the same effect. I was very intrigued by the corn fritters, recalling the ones my Burmese nanny used to make. These didn't come in the crispy batter I expected and had an almost cake like texture, even though they were deep fried. I'm glad I tried them but wouldn't order again. The two desserts I did try were a bit of a disappointment. The pandan sticky rice cake with salted yolk on top was okay, but not terribly exciting. The deep fried yam balls tasted a lot like funnel cake and I didn't want to have more than a couple of bites. I came in expecting to be floored by the desserts and just liking the savory entrees, but left with the reverse sentiment. Totally okay, I like surprises. I'll have to return earlier in the day before they run out of desserts. read more

Had this place bookmarked for a while but never had a chance to go. It's not your ordinary Thai joint... they seem to be more authentic. So if you're only looking for a pad Thai... look for another restaurant. FYI: there's no AC for indoor dining so we sat outside for the nighttime breeze. Plus, their outdoor seating is beautiful. Hubby ordered the fried chicken with ginger rice and that was fantastic. Chicken was juicy and the breading made it crispy. The complimentary soup was absolutely delicious. My steam chicken over ginger rice was very bland and dried. You really needed their house ginger soy sauce to make it edible. I enjoyed their chrysanthemum tea. Their butterfly pea tea was surprisingly really lemony. I would have love to try some of their desserts but maybe for next time. When you order inside, there are lots of to-go boxes which was neat. read more

My favourite is the stir fried crispy pork belly with rice. OMGGGGG.... there is also a vegetarian section on the menu. And if you love thai desserts, this will be the place you definitely want to check out. Service 5/5 Friendly, healful and quick! Thai hospitality at its best! We usually just come here for dessert after eating lunch at their sister restaurant, Khao Kang, but today we decided to try their food. The crispy pork belly tastes just like the dishes we ate in Thailand! We also ordered the Ocean Salad which comes with crispy enoki mushrooms. They're tasty on their own with a seasoned batter but the seafood salad was also very nice with bay scallops, shrimp, and calamari. The tumeric clay pot chicken was tender and flavorful. And the staff are very kind! For dessert try the Tokyo Pandan Rolls. So good! read more

My friend and I came for dessert. I was really looking forward to the roasted taro custard cake and was expecting a different texture. I think they use real taro, which is great, but I was hoping for a tres leches type of texture. It was much grittier than I would like it to be. The taro balls dessert soup was very similar to the Chinese version which made it not very exciting but still good on a cold day. The roasted taro custard cakes tasted great soaked in the coconut milk (*hint* *hint* new dessert idea). They were very generous with the mochi balls and only 2 pieces of cocount. Wish there was sweet potatoes or grass jelly for texture contrasts. Lastly, our favorite were the light and fluffy egg waffle like pandan custard filled rolls. It was warm and fluffy with ample amount of lightly sweetened pandan custard :) great with tea or coffee (which I hope they can add to their menu). read more
