For us, we all agreed that Pistachio Kup was the thing to get (3 of us ordered it) - I was pretty happy with the layer of pistachio cream topping chopped pistachios with plenty of vanilla ice cream and a bottom layer that repeats the chopped pistachio and cream. It is a very filling dessert, but I found the texture of the ice cream to be a little cool whip like. Tried their new tiramisu shake which legit had a piece of tiramisu ON IT and a lady finger. Cup was loaded up with chocolate and shake itself was coffee flavored. The birthday cake crepe is PACKED with strawberries, cake, chocolate, sprinkles--you gotta eat it right there though otherwise the crepe itself gets weird. I also had the s'mores crepe but added cheesecake and that was not AS good as the birthday cake but fantastic nonetheless. Astoria doesn't have any shortage of amazing desserts but Chocolate House brings a wide variety of virtually any dessert to satisfy one's sweet tooth. It's super spacious, clean, staff is kind, and the desserts are great- what's not to love? Some of my favorites include the spiced chai latte (my parents loved this too) and the lotus biscoff sundae (something I always end up getting) albeit I don't think this place could do any wrong and everything on the menu would be good. We ordered 4 items for take out. 2 cheesecakes, a milkshake and a crepe. The desserts were good but the crepe was barely warm when I received it and I ate it immediately in the car. And the banana was overripe so a bit mushy. The service is where they failed. We arrived at 1015pm and while it was busy it took 30 minutes to get the food. It was obvious the delay was in the crepes as we did see them preparing a bunch. But 30 minutes is excessive. Also I noticed as he was ringing up our order that he overcharged for my crepe. Instead of looking at it, he just dismissed me when I asked and said it was taxes. While waiting for the food I double checked the menu and the board. Clearly overcharged so I asked for the receipt and showed him. He said you're right and gave me the cash difference. Upon looking at the receipt again when we got home, I noticed we were overcharged for the cheesecakes too, small amounts but still wrong. This makes me feel like it's not just one small mistake. So we got charged extra on 3 of 4 items and most people just don't notice. Look at your receipts. read more
