Dropped by to pick up some sweet dessert crepes for a friend's birthday. Nothing fancy, though good flavor combos, fresh fruit, something for everyone to satisfy a sweet tooth. On a Saturday morning at 11am I think I was their first customer after they opened. I asked if I could do takeout and the owner was very accommodating to help pack the ice cream scoops individually so that they wouldn't melt all over the crepes in transit and then another hour prior to eating. Crepes I ordered--$9.99 each and extra $1 for bubble waffles instead of crepes: 3. RED MANGO with crepe Mango, strawberry, blackberry, strawberry syrup, whipped cream with strawberry ice cream. 7. NUTS PARTY with crepe Peanut butter, banana, almond, nutella, whipped cream, with butter pecan ice cream. 8. BERRY LOVER with bubble waffle Strawberry, blueberry, raspberry, blackberry, maple syrup, whipped cream, with coconut ice cream. 10. SMORES with bubble waffle Marshmallow, graham cracker, chocolate syrup, whipped cream, with cotton candy ice cream. The crepes and bubble waffles were great, prepared fresh from the same batter at time of ordering. Since everything is put together there, it took about 15-20 minutes for the order to be ready, which was fine since there are a few seats to wait while it was prepped. The space isn't large inside though they've made it fun with wooden slats in the ceiling and hanging faux greenery. My friends and their kids really enjoyed the desserts so I was glad! read more

This place is unfortunately not it. Yes there are lots of fruits, but the ice cream is not that good at all. The crepes are not bad, but the service is rough. We had someone walk in after us get served before us, without an apology. The service is extremely slow, for no good reason at all other than they're wildly understaffed if more than one person is there, but there is no real demand, so they can't really staff multiple people for the high times. It's nice to see family owned businesses operate in NYC and I want to root for this one, but it's not what I'm looking for tbh. read more

While waiting for my dinner order from Marios a La Brasa, I looked across the street and saw people walking out of Tornado Crepe. I looked at my little girl and asked: dessert? To which she replied Yes!!! The store window is adorned with crepe displayed within glass cases...like the rose from Beauty and the Beast. We ordered a Red Mango and Mango Iced tea. The biggest draw of the crepes is the visual presentation. Unfortunately, when you pack it to go, it hurts the visual appeal. The crepe was good, but not great. I love crepes and this place got me hooked. I got the sweet mojollia crepe which was strawberry, banana, kiwi, Nutella, chocolate syrup, and cookies cream ice cream for $5.95 plus tax. I substituted raspberry for kiwi. This place was cheaper than other places I have been to. Parking is limited because the store is located on the main road and it's usually busy in this area. There's a 7 train that stops here as well. The size of the crepe was bigger than expected to the point I shared it with my brother since I was unable to finish it on my own. They displayed different kinds of crepes in the window which is pretty much same as other crepe stores. Next time I shall try the savory crepes can't wait!! They have boba drinks, hot drinks, shakes, I sslush, milk shake and fried ice cream as well so don't think it's limited to just crepes. They updated all their prices now, so the crepes are $6.45 instead of $5.95!!! read more

I got the Taro Slush and it was practically flavorless. I would have requested it be remade, but I was nearly home. I found that they shorted me on the Taro ingredient - instead of the normal purple color, it was more of a grey color with a light lavender highlight. It was late at night, maybe thirty minutes before they closed, so I'll give them another shot more during the day. Hoping the experience was a one-off mistake. UPDATE: Came here again and got another Taro Slush, this time the flavor was right, so adjusting the rating. However, their tapioca balls are very slimy (much more than normal), didn't mention earlier due to other more pressing issues, but this was twice that the balls appear to be over cooked. read more

I came across Tornado Crepe via UberEats because I had a crazy sweet tooth and it was getting pretty late. I ordered for takeout and was very happy with how carefully packaged my order was. I ordered an Egg Waffle with fruit & green tea ice cream, 1 Taro milk tea and 1 cookies & cream milkshake. The egg waffle was fluffy on the inside but still warm & crispy on the outside- despite being delivered for takeout. I enjoyed it with all of the toppings and the green tea ice cream was delicious. The Taro milk tea was also good, but I was a little dissapointed that it did not come with tapioca pearls. I believe that they were omitted due to running out of stock so I do not blame the business. The milk tea was nice regardless and I finished the entire drink. Lastly, the cookies and cream milkshake was ordered for my boyfriend and he said it was pretty decent but that he wishes he ordered something else. Definitely go with the crepes or egg waffles if you stop by! Overall, I was pretty satisfied with my order and would recommend ordering from here. I tend to eat out in Manhattan, I moved to Queens about 10 years ago and probably have been to a handful of dine-in restaurants in Queens. Tonight to celebrate my little sister birthday, my family and I decided to keep it simple and stay in Queens. We had an awesome dinner and had apace to try some dessert. I found Tornado Crepe because it was the closest dessert spot near the restaurant we were at. We were sold once we seen they have Waffle Wraps and Rolled ice cream. We were greeted upon arrival but needed a second to view the menu. (2) members of my family were indecisive and settled on scoops of ice cream which they said were delicious. My two little sisters decided on a waffle wrap and immediately fell in love. Service was amazing and the employees were very patient considering how indecisive we were. I've been to Eggloo in the city and toppings were unlimited. This location has plenty of options but more toppings would make this place even better.
