Spectaculoos!…read more Spectacular should be spelled Spectaculoos from now on. It just feels cooler to have the "oooos" enunciation at the end doesn't it? This Sunday only Wafel and Dinges truck is just way to dangerous. They should limit you to one of these because it's just way to hard choose just one option. Perhaps the Sunday only option is their way to protect us from those of us with no self control. If that is the case, good thinking W & D! As far as the Wafels, is there anything that Spekuloos (my current sweet addiction) or Nutella is spread on that doesn't taste awesome? Is there anything that fresh cut strawberries and whipped cream can't elevate? Who doesn't like a freshly made, still warm, slightly crunchy Belgium Wafel? You'll want to enjoy promptly right after you get your order it is most delicious the second you get it. Don't wait! The truck has all required utensils right there for you and the box is built in a way that makes it conducive to eat by sliding the Wafel to the edge to bite. However you're on your own to find seating to enjoy which can be somewhat of a challenge in some neighborhoods, where this truck parks including this one. Pro tip: head to the nearby MacDonald park nearby. One final thought, for those diabetics out there, just keep walking, there isn't anything here for you to eat,....

I finally decided to check them out and was literally blown away with their selection of waffles and toppings. I'd ended up getting their Liege waffle with fresh strawberries and bananas as my toppings - total $6. Now that's a deal considering my order was delicious and just enough to share with my mom. It's refreshing to see more food trucks in the Forest Hills areas.

So went to my friends office nearby and for lunch we ate at diner at. I haven't tried this place…read moreso it was a beautiful ambiance with the cherry blossoms. My friend and I both ordered the same chicken salads. It was actually pretty filling and too much for me so doggy bagged the rest. Service was super nice. They were attentive and helpful.

We were also intrigued to try the sangria that yelp raved about. We got a pitcher! It did NOT disappoint. It was a decent size pitcher for the price. Roza came to us and asked if we liked it and told us it was her recipe. No sugar ,No soda .It was tasty, thick full of fruit and definitely had liquor because I left with a buzz She also brought out the rosè for us to try pretty good too very refreshing will definitely do that one in warmer weather. I got the Dbar burger it was good but so big I didn't finish it all. My husband got the rib eye burger. He liked it but it was a little to greasy for him he didn't finish it. My 13 year old wanted breakfast. It was not in the menu but we figured we ask since it is a diner. She got pancakes with fruit and scrambled eggs. My youngest daughter got from the kids menu grilled cheese with fruit she enjoyed it so much we had to order another. Both girls for the marshmallow milkshake they LOVED it! For appetizers we got calamari good but could've used a little more breading. Also got chips with guacamole and honestly for a diner it was delicious. Everyone was friendly. Roza knew she had a bday past since we conversed for a bit and suggested we can sing her happy bday and asked what she liked I told her chocolate cake. They asked for the correct spelling of her name which I thought was sweet. Anyway the staff came out and sang with us super cool. Even the bathrooms are really clean. It was a great experience will definitely come back.I must be honest it's a hit pricey. The price for the pancakes with eggs was $23 when we saw the bill I was a little surprised. Kids' meals are $13 and I thought we were getting the cake (free, lol) since I technically didn't suggest it. It was $12 for a slice. But overall it was a pleasure she even gave us a sample of vodka with lemon and ginger which was actually good and helps settle the stomach.

I was exuberant for the occasion of goodness to patronize, at long last. What gives you hope. There is an outdoor seating patio that occupies the entire sidewalk and half the street. The weather was gloomy cloudy, but not raining which enable my party of two to dine outdoors. Our table was uneven wobbling and shaking minimal the entire meal which reminisce "Lisa from Temecula" sketch from "Saturday Night Live," but not as violently aggressive shaking. Customer service is average attentive. Oddly, our appetizers arrived first and my wine did not. We had to request my wine which should be distributed first without request or reminder, thus the four stars. This restaurant was not entirely busy nor crowded for a Friday early afternoon. Nick's Bistro is a small cafe with a modern aesthetic appeal. I enjoy and prefer to be well-cultured expose to all international cuisines without judgment and an open mind for appreciation and global awareness. I am not knowledgeable with Greek cuisine, but I do know that Astoria is the locale for the go-to restaurants. I enter with a empty stomach. I exited fulfilled. Business cards and candy were available for grabs. Nick's Bistro is easily accessible via MTA NYC Transit buses Q53 SBS/ Q52 SBS and then Q54. Dramatic irony: this business name is also the name of my former love - not the same Nick, certainly not the same man. My foodie synopsis: Lamb gyro sandwich, $12.00 The meat was soft, but fresh and Tzatziki sauce was heavy. I do not consume lamb often, but once in a blue moon I would not exclude lamb to consume. The pita bread was the highlight which was fresh, soft and cooked with a good consistency without burning or harden. The gyro contain very minimum vegetables of lettuce, tomato and red onion. I always prefer red onion. This sandwich ate my fill to sustain hunger pangs the entire afternoon. Gyro sandwich is always my default Greek entrée of choice. Oddly, this entrée is price higher than listed on their website for $9.00. I do not believe their website is updated for price. Caesar salad, small $11.25 It was fresh and delightful filled with Parmesan shaved cheese. This portion is actually medium size. The croutons are thankfully not hard, but I never like croutons at all. I am always enamored with the lettuce. Ruffino, Chianti, red wine $12.00 This wine is one of my favorite reds, but it is difficult to find at most restaurants or cafés not widely offered. It was a joyous delight. It is exactly as is dry, very medium-bodied smooth finish Italian red wine from Tuscany, Italy, crafted from indigenous Sangiovese grape. It highlight bright cherry flavors and surely tasted. I was floating in very high spirits. Chicken rice soup, pint $6.95 Served luke warm but not piping hot with steam visibly emitted. It was also served with Oyster crackers. It was enjoyable and warm the heart. Greek Omelet, over easy egg whites $16.50 It was served with Greek feta with vegetables yellow zucchini and pita chips. I do not see any tomatoes. This entrée did appeared well prepared and well cooked but no runny yoke. My neighbor thoroughly enjoyed this entrée. Every time I think of omelet it bring flashbacks from past long-haul international flights major airlines of standard airplane food popularity for in-flight breakfast, often served with potatoes, sausage, or roasted vegetables. Nostalgia brew. Omelet? Flight attendant, I'll take the Continental with pastries, toast and fresh fruit please. Then followed by Bedtime Care Bear make me fall asleep again.
