Kathy - as mentioned by other yelpers is very talkative. But she's very friendly and always wants to help (even carried my 9-shirts to my car b'cos my hands were full of pants!) I ended up searching around for a good dry-cleaner and followed others as per Yelp recommendations. VERY worthwhile, price is very competetive and you really get top-notch service! If you would like to pay a premium and send your nice, cherished dress to dry clean and then get it back WORN, WRINKLED, and UNCLEANED, Kathy's Cleaner is the place to go. Kathy's Cleaner is the kind of cleaner that would charge you a high price, even though she didn't clean your cloth. In my case, it was wearing my dress and returning it wrinkled and uncleaned while asking me to pay a premium for it. I dropped off the dress I bought for my sister's wedding at Kathy's on August 4, 2015. When I gave her the dress, she kept praising how beautiful the dress is and how expensive it must be. Her overwhelming frenzies towards my dress made me very uncomfortable at the time. The scheduled pickup date was two days later (August 6), but I couldn't go pick it up until today (August 7, 2015). When I arrived at the front desk and called her, she didn't greet me promptly as she usually did. Rather, she let me wait for a very long time and finally, brought my dress to me. (Apparently, she saw me through the video screen in the back of the store, recognized me as the owner of "the dress" without a need to check my receipt, and then grabbed my dress and started ironing it). When I saw my dress, it was in a bad shape: 1) apparently just had been ironed, hence, the long wait, yet still all wrinkled and 2) doesn't look like it has been cleaned. I asked her why it is ALL wrinkled, for it wasn't like that when I left her my dress and it definitely shouldn't be like so if it has been cleaned. Her reply was: "oh, it just needs to be ironed." Then she took my dress to the back. I immediately realized that my dress had probably been worn by someone else and hasn't yet been cleaned. I told her: "Someone has worn my dress. I want it to be cleaned." She didn't respond. After another long wait, she brought back my dress again. Even though she had spent long time ironing the dress, it still looked uncleaned and wrinkled, especially the shoulder and waist parts - the specific kind of wrinkles that could only be caused by someone wearing and overstreching it. By that time, I didn't trust her to leave my dress with her any second longer. I told her that she shouldn't charge me and should return my money, since "this dress has obviously not been cleaned." Her reaction was laughing hard and loudly, saying "hahahaha, you don't know THE DRESS WOULD STILL LOOK WRINKLED EVEN AFTER DRY CLEANING. You don't know???" No, after having some of my dresses dry clean for a decade, I don't know that a dress is supposed to look wrinkled, worn, and uncleaned after dry cleaning, especially not after I'd paid a premium to dry clean it. I wish I could post photos of my apparently wrinkled and uncleaned dress, after having it dry cleaned at Kathy's Cleaner. I am pissed that I literally paid $20 to let my beautiful dress be worn by some stranger and got it back worn, wrinkled, and uncleaned. The owner shamelessly dared to charge me a premium for not doing what she was paid for, not to mention wearing her customer's dress and returning it without cleaning it first. Her reaction after she got busted was also awful. At the time I was so pissed by her unethical and rude behavior that I just left. Now, I would like to resort to legal measures to report such a dishonest business conduct. I asked to make very simple alternation to two curtain panels. The owner of the store asked for $300 and one month lead time, which was quite ridiculous. I drove for 5min and found another tailoring store in the area. They did the curtain for me within three days for just $60. read more

Brought in a pair of pants for an alteration...the work was sloppy and obvious, so I asked them to redo it. They refused, saying they did it "just right." My pants are basically ruined now, and they wouldn't even refund the amount of the alteration. read more

I've always had a problem with jeans that were too long because I'm short. I brought in a pair of Joe's and a pair of nudies for an alteration and I was happy with the result! Kathy measured me in less than 10 minutes and my pants were ready to pick up the next day. The hem looks great and my jeans now fit me for a cheap price! It's only $8 a pair (Compare this to other places that charge $20-$30) I definitely recommend going here. It's been a while since I went to the dry cleaners. I'm glad I do no work in an environment that requires business attire. After years of not wearing a suit, I had to dig deep into my closet for my suit. Figure it needed dry cleaning, so I found Kathy's cleaner on Yelp. Came here for several reasons: Good reviews on yelp, location, and the customer service. I had a good experience here. Price wise, i think their somewhere in the middle as i'm sure there are cheaper places out there. The reason I will go back here is because the quick turn around time and good customer service. I bought in two jackets on Monday, and by Wednesday they were ready to be picked up. The previous places I've gone too is usually 3 to 5 business days. Service wise, i was impressed by how the owner showed great care with my jackets...something i haven't noticed at other establishments. Overall, I will definitely return. She cleaned one of my wool coats, which has a leather strip, and knew that regular cleaning would tend to crack it in the long run, so I sent it out to the special leather cleaner place. It turned out very well. She also altered one of my coats, and it looks great! Seems to really know her stuff, and doesn't push you to do things - if anything, tries to talk you out of doing things that are "too expensive." I've been going to Kathy's Cleaner for over 5 years now and have not once had a negative experience. I recently tried a different alterations place near my house (Kathy's is closer to work) to get my jeans hemmed and it was terrible. I should have known better! Luckily, Kathy came to the rescue, fixing the hem job in about 20 minutes while I waited. She's altered many pairs of pants, jeans, and even a formal dress - all turned out great. I've been going for about 7 years now -- Kathy does all my alterations and even had to sew an old Pokemon stuffed animals head back together for me, b/c I couldn't get another one! Fantastic service. I walked in to get a suit pants hemmed. I was greeted by an almost hyper welcome from Kathy. The little girl, playing on the counter, gave the shop a homey feel. The lively and friendly personality of Kathy made the entire experience great. Kathy fitted the pants for me in about 3min and told me that she would have them ready in a hour. I didn't even ask for anything that fast. I would have been happy with 2 or 3 days!!! The pants were beautifully hemmed. You can't even tell that they were altered in any way. The pants now fit perfectly. When I came to pick up the pants I was given a first customer discount. The man who rang me up initially forgot about it (I wouldn't have noticed since I didn't know about this discount) but then shoved a dollar bill in my hand before I walked out the door. He didn't need to do it. I wouldn't have known had he not done it. The customer service and quality of work at Kathy's Cleaner is fantastic. I know that a trip to a dry cleaning service isn't always something you would think to be a pleasant experience. I don't think you would consider it an experience of any sort. I've been going to Kathy for Dry Cleaning and Alterations for about 5 years and have been pretty happy with the services. Kathy is very friendly and always happy. The main reason I continue to go to her is because it's close to my work and home and she's always reliable. The parking lot can be a zoo during lunch time and busy hours so that may not be convenient for those who want to jump in and out. Her price is pretty fair and she does a fast job in getting things alterated. She has hemmed pretty much all my pants for around $8 with a quick 2-3 day turnaround (Faster if requested). She's also altered dresses and tops for me and all within reasonable time, price and great job. I always go to her for alterations because it's been reliable and plan to continue to do so. My company does most of my dry cleaning these days, but I bring those if I plan to do alterations with Kathy. I've bought a sewing machine a year back, but it hasn't been touched, because Kathy's is definitely more convenient. I even brought my friend from S.F. down to do a bridesmaid outift alteration. It was funny to find out that my friend was putting on the top backwards the entire time and didn't realize it. I take all my jeans to Kathy for hemming jeans and other alterations. She always does a a great job and is super nice and friendly. I'm really impressed that she always remembers me. I know she works long hours, 7 days a week, but you would never know it by her great attitude.
