Stopped in to see if I could get a snap button replaced. Didn't even get the guys name before he took the jacket, inspected it, and thought about replacing the button. He then simply fixed my button, tested the snap a bunch of times, handed it back to me and said "all good now". FREE OF CHARGE. Quality service at amazing value. I asked to save original bottom and attached to hem length, but they made jeans trash. Very poor skills. $20 each jeans to alternator. Understood the price, but very poor skill. read more

I had a suit jacket that needed a few alterations - the sleeves were too long and the back had a bulge at the neck. My usual tailor in Fremont was on vacation, so I did a Yelp search and found Milpitas Alteration Center. There were a few annoyances, but it wasn't an absolutely horrible experience - hence the 3 stars. The first annoyance was the day I dropped off the jacket - they open at 9am, and I showed up at 9:45am to a locked door and a "we'll be back" sign. I waited and the owner showed up, I showed him the fit, he quoted a price and said it would be done the following Tuesday. The second annoyance was when I came back to pick up the jacket on Tuesday - the bulge in the neck was reduced but still very prevalent. He marked it up and said he could get it done by the end of the day. The third annoyance was when I came back to pick up the jacket the second time, a couple days later. They open at 9am, and I showed up at 9:30am to a locked door and a "we'll be back" sign again! This time I couldn't wait around, so I came back later in the day. The fourth annoyance was that the beck bulge was fixed, but it wasn't a clean fix - there were wrinkles due to the stitching/fixing job. He said they would come out when ironed, but they didn't. Luckily it wasn't too noticeable on the day I had to wear the suit. So basically, the job was just "okay" but I probably won't come back unless there are no other options. read more

After 7 years of dealing with long sleeves and pants, I got fed up with folding/pinning everything that I have decided to invest in getting my current clothes hemmed rather than buy new ones in hopes that they'll fit. Manny does an excellent job with clean stitches (check pictures for references). Not sure why everyone thinks he's unfriendly - he's just doing his job and is a "to the point" kind of guy, which is fine by me because I'm not much for small talk for services. For 3 pairs of jeans, 1 pair of dress pants from NYC, and a blazer that needed to be hemmed / sleeves shortened... he only charged my $40. Not bad given the quality, and way cheaper compared to other places like Purple Tie where they charge $14-$20 for a hem. I didn't even ask to keep the original hem on my 7 For All Mankind... but look at the hem! It's so clean and hardly looks like it's been hemmed. Even the backside stitch is clean compared to Purple Tie. Very small business, but the guy running the show does good work! read more

I original came to hem my raw denim and after seeing the quick return (usually 3-4 days) and quality service, it's been a revolving door of me handing him more and more clothes to get fitted. Kuya Manny is sooooo awesome. I've taken a few things to get altered over the last few years, and he always does a wonderful job. We first used him when my brother lost weight and needed to get his barongs fitted (traditional dress shirt from the Philippines made from a very sensitive fabric). He got all three of them fitted and back to us within a week! Fast forward a few years and hubby bought a suit from Macys. Of course we weren't getting it altered there--alterations cost almost as much as the damn suit! Kuya Manny to the rescue again, suit was back and looking wonderful within a week... price was less than $30? I can't remember anymore, I just remember it was HELLA cheaper than everywhere else. And the lines were clean. Kuya Manny is now our go-to guy for anything. He's done my MIL's mother of the groom dress, he's done hubs' other slacks (including making the fit slimmer... and I cannot tell where he cut it--its that clean!). After finding out about this place online through a Reddit thread a couple years ago, I've since been coming to Manny for essentially all of my alteration needs. He's done alterations on a wide array of fabrics for me, ranging from raw denim and scrubs to suit jackets and dress shirts. Compared to other tailors I've been to, he has a pretty standard turnaround on items brought in. There have been times though where I've needed something sooner and he was able to accommodate for the date I needed it by (not sure if there was an extra charge, but great that's he's able to do this for customers). There was also a time where the fabric tore on the taper of one of my dress shirts after my shirt got snagged & I brought it in a couple days later and he fixed it within minutes, no extra charge. If you are pretty particular with certain items, make sure you are clear and concise with your concerns and Manny will make sure that the adjustments will be done to your liking! Overall, Manny does a consistently great job for a fair price and I'll continue to support his shop for all the great work he's done! read more

My pants from a pricey suit needed a slight adjustment, and I was extremely EXTREMELY nervous handing them over to someone for an alteration. After reading reviews from about 15 different alteration businesses on yelp and google, I decided to walk in here and see what's up. Manny took my measurements and we chatted for a few minutes. I felt comfortable handing over my pants to him and he said it would take about a week. Well, I came in today to pick them up. The tack button on my brand new favorite black jeans came off and I needed a new one and some sewing on the large hole it left. The new tack button doesn't look like it's going anywhere. It seems way stronger than the original. He altered ALL of my bridesmaid dresses, and he's done a PHENOMENAL job at it (and I've been a bridesmaid a number of times)...He's very quick...If you need it, you won't have to wait a week...He'll get it to you either that same day or the next day. And he's VERY CHEAP. I have taken dresses to other places, and he charges waaaaay cheaper than other places. I think most people are just used to a$$ kissing customer service these days, which is not his style. Went here because i needed to get my raw denim tapered from the inseam instead of the outseam to keep the selvedge line. went in, asked for a taper and proceeded to use his tape measure to where i wanted to taper from. cost about $12-14 for the taper. and when i got it back, the fit was exactly how i wanted. will be my go-to tailor for all my tapering needs. note: bring your own tape measure, the one i used at home and the one manny had was about a .2 difference. read more

My wife and I have come here several times to have clothing altered and repaired. Manny does a good job at a fair price. The first couple of time I went there I thought Manny was either in a bad mood or didn't like Caucasians or something (since everyone I had seen in there besides me was Filipino) and so I hesitated to go back. Now that I've been there a few more times I think it's just that he's very busy and doesn't have a lot of time for small talk. Excellent service, I brought in tons of clothes to have adjustments and alterations. The guy had me try on my items and roughly pinned according to the size of my liking... A week after I go to pick up my items and they are pressed after alterations which is a big PLUS... Also the cost is quite reasonable for the items... if there are multiple clothing needing work, they help you on the price.. can't beat that, this is my regular place now! read more
