Nur did an amazing job on my daughter's wedding gown and I would highly recommend her for your wedding alteration needs. My daughter's gown was a complicated job as it was embroidered tulle with beading throughout. Nur upgraded the built-in bra, hemmed it so it didn't cut off the design in the front, tailored it to fit her perfectly and created a ballroom bustle that made her train completely disappear and transform the dress into an elegant gown. I am super pleased with 18/11 Craft Studio! I needed a bridesmaid dress from Birdy Grey fixed - hem is too long, but it weirdly had 3 layers and the bottommost layer was very constricting. I'll be on the move during the wedding and did not want to feel like I wouldn't be able to move quickly if needed. I booked an appointment online and showed up. It's a very clean, bright, aesthetic studio with space for two people to change in separate curtained off areas. I was alone when in my first appointment and she asked me what I wanted (see above) and quoted me $120 (+tax). I did not pay express and scheduled an appointment for 2 weeks later to pick up the dress. I've only gotten a bridesmaid dress altered once before and that place took a month, so I was really pleased with the timeframe. I picked up the dress yesterday and it was perfect! I got my wedding dress altered by Nur. I found this shop via Yelp and was able to connect with Nur via text. She's easy to talk to and communicates over text promptly, which is nice. I dropped off my dress about 4 months before my wedding and had two fittings. She and her team took off the length of the front of the dress, as it was a bit too long, for the first fitting. After returning closer to my wedding date, she then took in the hips, back, and added the bustle. I was very happy with the results and the dress fit like a glove for my body. I was easily able to convey what was comfortable versus not and Nur was able to adjust accordingly to get it to fit the way I wanted it to. So happy I discovered this hidden gem on Yelp! My daughter's gown for her 16th birthday photos was a size too small and we went in to get it altered. I went to Nur to get a sleeve hand-stitched to a woven blanket that I wanted to display in my room with a dowel rod. Perhaps not the most common job, but Nur was up to the task!! Nur was easy to work with and walked me through my options for stitching it to the blanket, and really helped me visualize how it would look. My main concern was how the stitching of the sleeve would affect the blanket artwork in front. Her hand-stitch is basically invisible. One of my hiking pants from Lululemon tore at the knee during my backpacking trip. I was looking for nearby area so I could help do a simple fix of the hole. I was happy that the owner (?) was able to do a same-day fix even though how busy she was with wedding alterations. I called in for a quick fix and she said that she's able to do it. When I came in, she was busy with one person. So I waited. And then after three hours later, I came back and she was busy with another person and I waited. I asked Nur to look into fixing the bottom of my sweatshirt. It lacks an elastic band (found in almost all sweatshirts), so it would billow outwards when I wore it. I hated that look and did whatever I could to make it billow less, but I needed a professional to really fix it. I brought it in to show Nur, and she gave me two suggestions. What a hidden gem in the world of clothing alterations! I had just bought my wedding dress and needed it hemmed, so I brought it here after getting a reasonable quote and a quick response. A wedding nightmare is when your dress cannot zip up! Wedding was in 2 weeks and out of town so I was stressed. Nur was able to get the job done in a week! I went in with the intention of asking to make the dress an adjustable corset back but she said she might be able to open up the dress and pull any extra fabric the dressmaker left to adjust size. I thought she was very considerate of what needed to make my special day easier. She also gave the suggestion of adding padding so I wouldn't have to wear a bra with the dress. The left breast was also flipped out a little and she was able to fix that and add a bustle for the train. Not for jeans! I brought in two pairs that needed the seats repaired and reinforced. When I went back to pick them up, they had visible stitch lines all up the seat of the jeans. She did refund me and offer to fix it, but in the end the jeans are unwearable. Judging by the other reviews and work I saw in her shop, sure specializes in wedding dresses and formal wear. Noura, the owner, was friendly over the phone and in person. The shop is very clean and located in Santa Clara near Levi's Stadium in a small strip mall. After talking to some friends and getting a ball park figure of what it would cost to alter a wedding dress, I was surprised by how affordable the dress alteration at 18/11 Craft Studio ended up being. Nur advised that I add bra cups, a bustle, and let out the waist to lengthen the dress (to cover my feet) and make it fit better. I went with her recommendation and was pleased with the result. Granted, the dress didn't look bad on before (just a little short and showed my feet), but now I feel so much more comfortable in it after the alterations! They were able to complete my request in less than 3 days and the results are stunning!!! My initial inquiry was to hem and take in the bottom of my dress, but when I was trying it on for her the zipper BROKE so in addition to hemming, she also replaced the zipper, added darts to the bust to make it more flattering, and used the excess fabric from the hemming to let out the bust and waist, AND added boning for support after the first fitting. I am so impressed with the amount of work done in such a tight time period, and considering the amount of work done I feel the price was very fair. I cannot thank Nur enough for her work. I ordered a traditional Cambodian dress and the corset did not fit at all plus the color was the opposite of what I wanted. It was so hard to explain what I wanted over yelp messages when I created the project so I came in and we finalized on doing a custom corset from the one I ordered. I had submitted an open project via Yelp asking for quotes for hemming two pairs of pants (business casual type pants, not jeans). Nur as well as others responded but after reading the reviews and checking for distance, I decided to visit 18/11, which was a great choice in hindsight. Nur was absolutely so helpful and positive in my interactions with her. I had the chance to give my input, and in turn, she offered advice based on the type of shoe I wanted to wear as well as if I would wear a belt or not normally. She even gave advice around the fact that my legs were uneven, which apparently is pretty normal, and what that would mean in terms of alterations for pants! Hemming was $25 per pair and I was able to pick them up in a week. I didn't have a specific deadline, so a week was more than fine. She even offered for me to pick them up at 7pm (past the closing hour) because I had mentioned that I would be coming from work and facing traffic! Overall, Nur was incredibly kind. This was one of my first tailoring experiences (I used to ask my relatives to do it lol) but Nur was both wise and gracious. I will definitely come back again. read more
